A few weeks ago, I posted a link to a fine essay debunking Moscow’s propaganda regarding Ukraine. This is another such debunking …

How Moscow Hijacked the History of Kyivan Rus
Posted on May 14, 2025 by Adrian Bryttan

(This essay was first published in a collection by Yaroslav Dashkevych, PhD. History, “Learn to Speak the Truth with Non-Lying Lips” – K:Tempora, 2011, 828pp)

In creating their nation, Ukrainians need to examine and analyze their own history, based on truth, verified facts and historical events. For centuries under the rule of conquerors, Ukrainians were basically deprived of the opportunity to influence the formation of national awareness and the the development of their history, with the result that Ukraine’s history was composed predominantly to the advantage of their conquerors. Especially troublesome is the question of the pretensions and demands of Moscow, and later Russia, concerning the the historical legacy of Kyivan Rus.

In his historical work “The Land of Moksel or Moskovia” (Olena Teliha Publishing House, Kyiv 2008, 2009, 3 vol.) V. Bilinsky presents historical sources (predominantly Russian) which testify to the total misrepresentation of the history of the Russian Empire, which was geared to create a historical mythology about Moscow and Kyivan Rus sharing common common historical roots, and that Moscow possesses “succession rights” to Kyivan Rus.

Moscow’s outright fraud that appropriated the past of the Great Kyiv kingdom and its people dealt a severe blow to the Ukrainian ethos. Our obligation now is to utilize hard facts to uncover the lies and amorality of Moscovian mythology.

    Let’s examine these problems.

Much more at the link in the tweet …

PF, how are things going in Phillie, in your opinion. Heard that Wolf told a reporter that his private polling showed him above 40 percent. What are you hearing?

      • 31 prettyfoot58
        May 13, 2025 at 9:55 pm

        three big endorsements of Wolf…

        Curtis Jones …city council….Dwight Evans…State Representative….had big power before Corbett…
But the most interesting endorsement …Josh Shapiro Montgomery county Commissioner chair….this is the heart of Alyson Schwartz Land…….Montgomery County is a hotbed for the GOP…but for the first time in many many …many years,,,2 DEMS were elected to hold the Commissioner’s seat…. The Dems worked hard to get the vote out in 2012…they are making big plans to get out the vote…and .they might feel that Schwartz cannot beat Corbett…..

That’s good news, Pf. I sense a lot of former fence sitters coalescing around Wolf. I’ve felt from the beginning that Schwartz could not win the state. She will bomb anywhere outside of the Phillie area. Even though we’re a minor county that leans red, most state-wide candidates make an effort to visit us at least once, or else sent a rep to talk to us. Schwartz is the only one who told us to eat dirt from the beginning. She did not bother to send anyone or anything here, even a brochure. Not good politics, in my opinion.

      hehehehe - I like that.

I’m also liking that the large print media (NYT WaPo) - are not yet dead. GG and others (Ezra Klein, Nate Silver) think they were the singular reason their message got out there - they were not, the MSM to which they belonged gave them massive support - now that they have moved outside of their old world they are nowhere near as important or relevant as they think they are.

GG is like Palin on a book tour - once that’s over - there is nowhere doing the “followup”

The Economic Importance of Investing in our Infrastructure

President Obama and his administration are focused every day on what we can do to expand opportunity for every American.

In today’s economy, that includes building first class infrastructure that attracts first class jobs and carries goods from American businesses all across the world.

That’s why President Obama has laid out a vision for a 21st century transportation infrastructure that would support current investment plans in all 50 states and build the foundation for lasting economic growth while avoiding Highway Trust Fund insolvency.

That proposal is fully paid for through one time revenue from business tax reforms that will spur investment and create jobs by closing loopholes that reward companies for moving jobs overseas.

Bob, the line about the sanctions against President Obama visiting Donetsk is priceless. “Now Barack Obama will not be able to visit the waste heaps of Donbas until November.” How will he stand it? Amazing that amid the terrible tragedy that occurred with the attack on the Ukrainian security unit today, Dmitry can still keep a sense of perspective and wry humor about the absurdity of the separatists.

Not political but — I just got a chance to visit TOD and saw this morning’s thread had a picture of President Obama’s hand. That lead me to think about the time when folks were analyzing PO’s palm. I did a search on that and found the excerpt where Ellen Goldberg, M.A read President Obama’s palm and then George Bush. It was pretty interesting. http://www.howcast.com/videos/515223-What-President-Obamas-Palm-Reveals-Palm-Reading

140 characters is a brutal task master, so this is my best effort to share the essence of my perspective regarding race and President Obama ….

The PERSON of President Obama - his moral core - is a mortal threat to the avaricious, the mercenary, the corrupt, the EVIL among humanity. His ‘color’ is the one tool the EVIL have to leverage. A ‘white’ President Obama would be a scourge beyond their capacity to overcome. A ‘black’ President Obama might have appeared to be to their advantage, however, that’s because along with EVIL they are also STUPID.

Yes, President Obama has always been a threat to them because he is beyond their capacity to understand. They can’t think beyond their own greedy, narrow box and so they supposed from the beginning that he must secretly be as venal as themselves, but disguising it in a manner designed to mesmerize gullible people. They are incapable of imagining the extent of his morality and greatness so they underestimated him and instead of crushing him, they have repeatedly hurt themselves. If they had cooperated with him they could have shared in his legacy and grown in stature as a viable political party. Instead they chose the lowest road and now every great and lasting thing our President has accomplished, he has done on his own and without their help.

Bobfr, and Jackie, you both know President Barack Obama so well. Thank you for your comments. May they go down in the history books for generations of young, and older persons to read and realize how wonderful a president we have/had in President Barack H. Obama.

Thank you for your gracious and true words of this great man. We know there are millions who know this same truth, but it is so wonderful to read it as well. Continue to express these truths.

“Yes, President Obama has always been a threat to them because he is beyond their capacity to understand.” Their failure to carry within their being the great and beautiful humanity of respect and to willingly and openly express the ability to understand him will be one of their deepest regrets in their golden years.

Oh, and when the history books tell the great story written by the great historians who do have the capacity to understand him and will sit quietly but with boldness give him his rightful respect, honor, and great works for this nation while he served as our 44th President of these United States of America. These decent and capable historians will give his works deep respect, honor and truthfulness to all of his hard work.

I hope and pray that daughters, sons, nephews, grandchildren, nieces and great nieces will be those grateful and bright respectful minds who will be able to sit and read to their children about this great president. My prayer for all of us. We worked with so much love and joy to make it all happen by the grace of a power greater that we can imagine. May that grace rest upon those generations with much truthfulness and the capacity to read and understand what a great 44th President we all enjoyed and appreciated. HZ
