This was my 1st time witnessing everything and it was beautiful. I always miss them. I was smiling the whole time. President Obama looked so happy and fresh. The man has EXCELLENT genes and stamina but his mother was a busy lady, always working for others.

Perfect - but truly amazing that this needed to be said - Maybe in post 2017 PBO could concentrate on saying what he really thinks about the dumb of the pundits

Whether you believe in the Bible or not, there’s something biblical about the upcoming event at the invitation of Pope Francis on Sunday.

“The Israeli and Palestinian presidents will plant an olive tree as a symbol of peace after an unprecedented prayer meeting with Pope Francis in the Vatican Gardens on Sunday amid high tensions in the Middle East …

“The Vatican said it hoped the initiative launched by Francis, which will include Christian, Jewish and Muslim prayers and music, would have an impact on public opinion but stressed it would be a purely spiritual event …

[and my favorite part, from the perspective mentioned] “The ceremony will begin at 1700 GMT, the Vatican said on Friday, specifying that prayers will be delivered in the chronological order of the founding of world’s three main monotheistic religions: first Judaism, then Christianity and Islam.”

My day is made - actually my WEEK is made! Pres O waved a personal goodbye to me on his departure, and he just gave me an “I’m hooome!’ wave. :) :) :) Life’s good - thank you Lord for a wonderful and meaningful trip for the POTUS (and others).

Ok all, I need your good wishes. Don’t wish to give too many details out of fear of jinxing it, but thanks to the fact that pretty much all my patrons adore me, I may have found an awesome opportunity for the missus. We’ll know more next week. Fingers crossed.

LL, I have to tell you, I’ve thought of your missus many times the past week or so. My brother-in-law is dying of cancer; it’s been a two and a half yr fight and he’s at the end. My work is flexible so I’ve been taking the night shift (he’s at home), and that leaves us alone for hours. He’s barely communicative, and at times I can’t escape the analogy of caring for an infant, a very sick one, anyway. I leave after the hospice nurses come in the morning, and not being as good as they, I’m very relieved when I see them. I am now in awe of the enormous physical and emotional work they do; work that can be far too unappreciated and underpaid.
I’m sending my fervent wishes this works out for her, and will be very happy for you when it does.

I know right? When I saw he had landed, the first thought that popped up was, “holy crap, he’s back home already? How the…what the…?!” Then I remembered Air Force One.

Can’t beat that level of travel.

When i tuned in this morning - my exact thoughts LL - and it seems he has sent a couple of the pundits (MJ, Rand Paul) into the land of make believe - we should ditch them into the cloud at the top of the faraway tree.

      Anjo. Yes.
Without getting into a sermon, it is customary in the African American community to celebrate the “Homegoing” of a spirited soul whose body has transitioned to the spiritual realm returns where we were created from.
We mourn for the newborns who enter into the world because of the trials and tribulations(some more than other who lives in Red states) among racism, hate and ignorance.

We celebrate going home because we were never meant to stay here. Nobody.
Our President made reference today that we do not know how long we will stay here(paraphrasing).
So that being said, we do not die. We sleep…..
I hope this sermon which is not supposed to be a sermon helps explain the term.
      It is spiritual.

Unfortunately, some of the best parts are cut off at the end of the above link. I don’t know why but it takes Charlie Rose a few days to post a video. I’ll bring it here when it appears. There are some very moving moments to come.
