Stealth mode😀
Thank you LP, super stealthy.
Is that the same as cheat mode, LPlains? Just checking.
I’m still trying to crack the code myself, VC. It is a perilous journey, but I’m determined to unlock this mystery
Well if you make it through to the other side, don’t forget to share with me. Good luck!
Great post NW. Congrats on 1st Chips.
Thank you COS!
And thank you Nerdy for these uplifting tweets, what a special community it is.
Thank you, Chips.
Thanks, COS.
Morally first.
🙄
Bad news for you tonight Japa, thanks to MadameSoph I’ve found a new future husband:
http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2014/08/20/photo-fan-changes-name-to-mr-manchester-united-gets-club-crest-tattooed-on-forehead/
If that is what turns you on, I may be glad I escaped. Now, where’s VC. Or Andy.
I don’t see this as a Failure as the press has been reporting it. US had intel. They went to execute it. The Terrorists have moved out the captured reporters. Our special Ops got a few bad terrorists and one of ours was hurt. Our guys then left. That was the mission.
I would rather our guys try than not. The lives of our special Ops were in danger. I am so proud of them. The media can go straight to Blazes.
Only the dipshits in the media are calling it a ‘failed’ mission: If you watched SOD Hagel & JCOS Hagel at their press conference today….the both referred to it as flawless. The sad irony of it all is the media was about to publish details of the attempted rescue which prompted the DOD to put out an account before god knows what OpSec details the scribes would have disclosed. By forcing an acknowledgement by the DOD the media themselves risked the lives of the other journalists still being held captive.
We were just notified that there will be a protest against Ferguson Police here in downtown Phoenix today at 5 p.m. So glad.
Really? At almost 4:30 in the afternoon? Wow. Glad they’re doing that but a little forethought might have been nice…we’ve known about this murder since August 9 for goodness sakes…Who notified you, Jackie?
Well, there may have been more notice by news agencies, but my building, the Bank of America Tower, sent an email to the tenants.
Here is another notice: An “Anti Police March” is scheduled Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. located at Civic Space Park, 424 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ. At this time, organizers have not disclosed whether or not they plan to march.
Thanks for the info, Jackie. Glad they’re doing this
If you thought Bibi wasn’t opportunistic enough…..the depth of how low he will go has no bounds
I’ve never had such harsh feelings for someone I’ve never meet, but from the way Bibi treats the Obama admin… to this I can’t stand him:
(Reuters) - A Rolex watch that belonged to Dwight D. Eisenhower and a cane used by Franklin Delano Roosevelt will be among hundreds of U.S. presidential artifacts to be auctioned off in Boston next month, an organizer said on Wednesday. The 420 items, which also include a pair of Abraham Lincoln’s eyeglasses, will go on sale at an auction at Boston’s Omni Parker House hotel on Sept. 17-18, said Bobby Livingston, executive vice president of RR Auction.
The artifacts come from the collection of Raleigh DeGeer Amyx, a former messenger for FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, who started befriending former White House employees such as maids, butlers, groundskeepers, Secret Service agents and valets in the early 1980s, Livingston said. “If Raleigh didn’t purchase them, curate them and take care of them, they would have been lost,” he said.
Among the most prized items in the collection is a watch given to Eisenhower by the Swiss watchmaker Rolex in gratitude for his role in saving Europe from the Nazis during World War Two, Livingston said. The gold-colored watch, with Eisenhower’s initials engraved on the back, is believed to be the most valuable Rolex in private hands, Livingston said, and is expected to fetch more than $1 million. Eisenhower gave the watch to John Moaney, an Army sergeant who was his valet for nearly 30 years after being assigned to him in wartime London in 1942, as a token of his appreciation, RR Auction said in a statement. The two became close personal friends….continued
I don’t see in the article where the monies gained at auction will be going.
I think it is a personal collection of the Amyx family, and not one being donated. I tried to look into more articles, but they are all sourced to Reuters.
It seems to me this would all be Presidential Library artifacts, but then, I am not a collector of such high ticket paraphernalia.
I know any gifts given to current Presidents are archived and can be purchased at retail value after leaving office…the rest go to the Smithsonian I believe.
TY, LP, I didn’t know that. Do they ever get to keep anything they are gifted? (the google, mp, the google!)
The General Services Administration currently mandates that any gift over $350 be turned over to the government. http://www.gsa.gov/portal/ext/public/site/FMR/file/Part102-_42.html/category/21858/

Some interesting swag😀
Ooh Ooh!! On my way!
Pretty sure the swag collectors in the House and the Senate are not subject to these guidelines and restrictions, eh?
That kid is going to sleep 10 feet above his mattress tonight!! Like a double header - Yankees foul ball, handled by Chris Rock! Wowser!
Would love to be at this dinner tonight…

I learned something new about Deval Patrick today.
He worked at the DOJ in the Civil Rights Unit under Clinton.
Oooh. I would too, Melanie!
I gain more respect for Gov. Patrick the more I learn about him. Even saw a few Patrick for POTUS tweets following his comments on Ferguson.
This is a beautiful illustration of how innocence communicates before society steps in with its prejudices.
Sweet.
Bigotry/Racism/Prejudice are taught.
Thanks NW. Love that first tweet! The Ferguson Coalition will be a powerful thing to witness.
Thanks, MadameSoph.
WTG LO’D.
Keep your foot on that gas pedal.
The final sentence
“But this article doesn’t measure up, for the reasons detailed above. The Times is asking readers to trust its sourcing, without nearly enough specificity or detail; and it sets up an apparently equal dichotomy between named eyewitnesses on one hand and ghosts on the other.”
whoops - that is 2 sentences
🙄
For someone who cheats their way to the top of the post replies - you can never give an honest soul a break - sigh
LOL!
Don’t encourage her MightyP - she is incorrigible
I can’t help myself, she is Adorable!! Such wit, such spontaneity! Wee Irish lass… love her!
I write the same - and then she directs it all at me - waaaaaaaaaaaah
Comment of the Day.
Thank you MightyP, you have Mighty Fine judgment😎
Oopsie, I done been bumped!
Don’t mind her TS. Does she even know how to use an abacus? Remember she frequently admits to being math-challenged.
I’m still trying to puzzle that one out, and I’m math-capable. 😉😉😉 😀😀 At least, I used to think I was/am.
The reason you can’t figure it out is because the answer is wrong. The correct answer is football because bulls don’t give milk.
Thanks, Japa! One of the advantages of hanging in this village is that there is always someone to help you out when you are stuck!
I tallied it up again, Japa - you sure it is football and not soccer? And are we talking bulls or steers?
i have learned so many things about Mr. Robin Williams -beyond his gifts as an entertainer ;
;
he was a very caring human being - military, unions, minorities, homeless population …… ;
;
during the course of my life, I have heard of many different entertainers put all kinds of riders (aka demands) in their contracts;
;
I have never heard of an entertainer who put such an explicit socio-justice rider in their contracts as this one Mr. Williams included ;
https://twitter.com/AFSCME/status/502515521078562816 ;
;
imagine if this kind of rider oriented towards socio-economic justice became the fashionable thing to do - what a difference it would make in the lives of so many;
I would like to know other people who have this kind of rider so I could hold them up
Many people recall his work with the USO, but even in President Obama’s statement on his passing “… He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most – from our troops stationed abroad ***to the marginalized on our own streets*** The Obama family offers our condolences to Robin’s family, his friends, and everyone who found their voice and their verse thanks to Robin Williams.” ….he referenced his work with the homeless community.
Robin was an amazing human being. His work with and for the homeless and his art has touched millions of lives. His legacy will endure for generations.
I watched The Birdcage today … One of my faves!
XOXO
MightyP is in those annals!😉
❤
Woot!
Dudette!
You have probably seen this already, but just wanted to share this with you in light of our recent TOD conversation:
Very interesting talk by Leonard Nimoy on the origin of the Vulcan Salute:
\\// (“live long and prosper”)
Hi MadameSoph! Yes, I’d seen this video a while back. The episode where “Live Long and Prosper” greeting and salute were introduced, is one of my absolute favorites.
Thank you for that splendid walk down memory lane!😀
\\// Peace and Long Life!
Question should be who is hiding him?
Now over $135K has been raised for him. Someone that shot and killed another human being in broad day light? America, We Have a Huge Problem.
Like the fools who gave their money to Zimmerman - Darren Wilson is on leave with full pay - most contributing probably have much less than Wilson. How does he get the money? Who organized the fundraising?
Fools and their money are soon parted has never been truer.
I reckon it’ll be more like $20 million needed just to post his bail, if the eff’er doesn’t show himself soon. The longer he hides, the worse it will be for him. I suppose he thinks we will all forget?
Probably in an undisclosed bunker with Dick Cheney or holed up in Russia with Snowden!
Snowden is probably asking him for advice - like how do you break the law and not get arrested - can you introduce me to your friends in the police
the FBI knows where he is…I’m sure of it.
I’m not at all sympathetic to Wilson, but I have a feeling that money will go for lawyers. They’ll take it all. He’s going to have HUGE legal fees, whether he realizes that now or not.
Totally, utterly bizarre. If he wasn’t guilty as sin, he would be facing the world, right?

Our Story:
#OperationHelporHush is a new spin on old-school organizing. #OperationHelporHush grew organically on Twitter in the midst of the events occurring in Ferguson, MO following the death of Mike Brown. Twitter activists are responsible for the incredible coverage and attention in Ferguson and have shown the power and potential of social media to impact social change.
Twitter activists were the first to bear witness to the events in Ferguson, MO and have replaced traditional media as the source of record for on-the-ground events.
Social media can be noisy. And it is easy to hide, and be hidden, in the noise. #OperationHelporHush started as critics doubted the impact that Twitter activists could have to influence change and our response was, “So help…or just hush” — either contribute to the movement or be quiet.
We are taking social media to the streets. We are a community on Twitter and we are a community in the streets. We can move the conversation and we can move work in the name of social good.
What kind of America do we want to live in? This is us reclaiming our America. We are using social media for social good. Join us. #OperationHelporHush.
Tears streaming down right now!
How wonderful is that!
Beautiful! Also I predict a big future for Antonio French. If it has been mentioned before forgive me, but another thing he is doing is opening a store front office in Ferguson. The freguson residents won’t be standing alone anymore.
Plus, Ferguson schools will be opened on Monday.
Glad to hear they will open Monday, but also so proud of the Ferguson library for hosting tutoring this week! Libraries are truly a bastion of freedom and are a truly democratic organization. Which is why right wingers have tried to dismantle them.
This summer I tutored in a free reading program in our local library. We had two sessions on Mondays, 6 & 7, and both were full. Working with children was a different experience from working with college age, and I loved it. GO LIBRARIES!
I am surprised that the Ferguson Gestapo did not storm the library; and yes, this is not snark. They will go into churches and quiet neighborhoods, so I would not have been surprised if they had stormed the library with the children and their teachers there.
This should get some attention, I tweeted it to Don Lemon
Ferguson cop’s hour long anti-government, racist rant. Same cop shoved CNN reporter Don Lemon on air

Regardless of what he is saying - I just adore Pierce’s ability to so aptly name those he discusses. By explaining the truth with humor, it becomes so much more real. This one - has me ROFL
“Nevertheless, there seem to be a lot of people with the vapors over what is happening to poor Goodhair right there in the middle of his ophthalmological makeover.”

The man’s a walking, talking, living genius!!
Oh good Lord. I am trying to listen to this interview CH is doing with the Gov. Gov. Nixon is mumbling and bumbling and stammering all over the place. He is weak, cowardly……NOT impressed!
NW, THANK YOU so much for all these tweets of resilience. This community needs HOPE. May they find strength in one another. BRAVO.
Thanks, Meta.
Haha! In this article, the sentence ALONE makes it worth spending a few seconds to read it!
stuff comes across each of our TL that make you wonder about the world we live in and the kind of people we share it with;
a tweet came through mine a few minutes ago in which someone was pointing out at least one self-identifying member of the Chicago PD has donated to Ferguson PD Wilson’s fund;
there are a number of other ID of people who are not only donating $ but also including a message;
if you are curious to see who these people are and their thoughts then search on twitter for a tweet by a person who uses the name “Just Me” and twitter handle @Petapup1 . this person has collected a few of these messages and tries to highlight the message from the Chicago PD office;
caution : most of the messages are unbelievably evil and show you what kind of person is financing wilson
Libraries. Librarians. You’re welcome.😎
Coolest places on the planet!
Hats off and ^5 to the librarians and teachers! You ROCK!
Hey, if you’re in D.C., in the next 5 minutes, go outside, look up and wave!
In Stewie the Wonderpup news…
He used to go to school every day in more flush times. But with the missus’ job situation—and the fact that our doggie daycare goddess did such a bangup job raising him that he can stay home all day by himself without destroying the place—we send him every couple of weeks so that he can run around and see his friends.
He went a couple of weeks ago, and as usual played, er, studied hard. He played so hard that he split open one of his toenails.
We didn’t think much of it, as he was caringly licking it and treating it. But on Tuesday we were out back, and I happened to look at his paw. The nail was basically hanging on by a thread, with his quick completely exposed.
We took him to our super-vet yesterday morning. They drugged him up with Dilaudid, removed the nail, and dressed him. The poor guy was knocked out most of yesterday imagining pink elephants from the drugs.
So he has a think bandage around his right front paw, which we’ve accentuated by encasing it in a plastic freezer bag so that it won’t get wet. But he handles it with such equanimity that it almost makes up for the times he craps on our kitchen floor.
And for that bucket of cold water
I’m not supporting Anonymous but this photo must be seen:
The photos of the real citizens of Ferguson with their courage, resolve, love and pain are the real story of this American tragedy and travesty, but we will never see them on TV and in newspapers. Thank God, for tools of the internet that allow citizen journalist to tell the real story.
Why is it that the love that A A people have their children and their community considered to be less than that of others; as if we are less human, that 3/4 percent of a human being that is in the Constitution? The only way to be so savagely objective about anyone is for one to tell himself that the despised is somehow not like me, is lesser, is not quite human.
That picture is mighty powerful.
Tyrant!
Well, well…….
The dude is a monster ….
