I hadn’t answered Dakota, because I am in utter and total denial that my iPad is just not getting the job done any longer. I have emptied the thousands of photos, moved all the files and invoices, taken all the steps except resetting it to factory settings. My denial is based on information I have about Apple Apple Apple relegating its perfectly functioning devices to the obsolete pile, and I just cannot handle it. At. All.

Thanks meta, I haven’t yet, tho I have thought about it!! I had zero problems with it for over 4 years, so let the insurance lapse, don’t think Apple will be too interested in checking it out!!

You can take it to Apple any time, you don’t need a live warranty. It’s best to make an appt so you’re not waiting forever in line - people bring in their stuff for every little thing.

Just google apple and the name of your city. Then go to the link and click on “genius bar.” Schedule an appt and VOILA. A professional geek will listen to your iPad problems and aggravations and do their best to provide a fix.

I’ve had my iPad for a little over a year and have never had any problems. I hope you get it figured out.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A police interview with a key witness was not provided along with the thousands of documents released after a grand jury decided to not indict a Ferguson police officer in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

An Associated Press review of the records released by St. Louis County prosecutors confirms a report by KSDK-TV that a transcript of an interview with Dorian Johnson, who was with Brown when he was shot, wasn’t included.

The two-hour interview was conducted by the FBI and a county police detective.

A spokesman for Prosecuting Attorney Bob McCulloch said he couldn’t explain the discrepancy.

Perhaps when McCullough is stripped of all authority, reduced to the less than human piece of filth he really is, and is in the can for life, he and his spokesman might just be able to find an acceptable explanation.

Nothing about Snowjob on his recent TL - although there are a few scattered tweets here and there about NSA..but that’s it. His TL is now heavy with the torture issue, and how the Obama administration is not holding torturers accountable….

Oi, how are you able to see them?! That’s discrimination!

    December 8, 2025 at 7:12 pm

Quick response to Vicki upthread (trying to do a bit of patio gardening before the sun sets).

The Senate “torture” report must be issued before the end of the year because in Jan a new Senate is in session (aka GOP majority).

I think it was PF58 who voiced concern about the timing, re: the horrors of ISIS/Al Qaeda, etc., but if the Senate did not release report this year, GWB/Cheney/Rumsfeld atrocities would be swept under the rug, as if it never happened.

My question to Feinstein is: why didn’t the Senate release the report before the November elections, which might have given spineless Dems something to bash other than PBO?

    • 67 hopefruit2
      December 8, 2025 at 7:16 pm

Here’s the general rule: If ANYONE or anything - be it the Senate, or whoever or whatever, thinks that this report is going to be used to damage PBO - they are sadly mistaken.

We’ve seen this movie 100 times before Arapho415 - PBO’s hands ARE CLEAN…they have always been, and thus, these reports which may be timed to create the most sensationalist headlines in the media are not going to negatively impact PBO to any great extent. If anything, they’re likely to backfire on those who are happily anticipating the report hoping to hurt PBO from it.

Bottom Line: I am not going to spend a lot of time worrying about this.

      • 68 arapaho415
        December 8, 2025 at 8:12 pm

Agree 100% — PBO and his Administration are and always have been against the inhumanity unleashed by GWB/Cheney/Rumsfeld.

MSM/GOP/Comcast are now hyping “embassy security,” cheerleading militant attacks against American foreign service so that they can grasp onto another #Benghazi.

The DC echo-chamber is also playing into American fears about ISIS/Daesh/Al Qaeda re: timing.

My only point is that if Feinstein et.al. don’t release the report this year, it will never be released, and the MSM/GOP/Comcast will breathe a sigh of relief.

Yes, df. He’s on target ….

“And, in such an environment, white children born today would come to see themselves as no better or no less than anyone else and then we could deal with what has us all by the huevos – the power structure. The fat cats at the top of the pack. Some generation, hopefully very soon, will have to understand that people are going to have to join forces to protect themselves from these people’s wicked games, their wars and their fascination with owning everything lock stock and barrel.

Because when We the People give into them we’re left fighting among ourselves for what little is left of the social and economic and political pie to be had. We become so busy being screwed that we don’t take time to care if there are some among us who are being treated grossly unjustly.

If race relations continue in the future as they are today, there will be no way a better world can be created. It’s going to take everybody’s efforts, in a spirit of love, as that has been the spirit in which struggles for civil and human rights have taken place. All we’ve ever wanted from these movements is equality. Justice.

There have always been white people who have joined others in their quests to be treated fairly in a free society but there have never been enough. …..”

“… but there have never been enough …”

That’s what must change. That’s what the proposed #TruthAndReconciliation Movement is intended to catalyze and sustain.

Thank you for bringing the article to our attention.

“Seven of the ten most-sued police officers of the 35,000-member New York Police Department are in Staten Island. These suits are typically settled, with millions of dollars of taxpayer money being paid to the victims. Yet these officers are still on the streets making arrests. When our clients are assaulted, they are routinely charged with resisting arrest or assaulting an officer—attempts to justify the brutality. It becomes the accused’s word against the officer’s. This pits mainly poor men of color labeled as “criminals” against officers sworn to “serve and protect.””

    • 117 jacquelineoboomer
      December 8, 2025 at 9:31 pm

The taxpayers are, in effect, paying the salary of these police officers and then, after the “10 most-sued” officers and others brutalize citizens, paying the cover-up money in settlement dollars. Sounds like acceptance and consent to this point, without prior knowledge, thanks to the system of “justice” that’s devolved over the decades. I’m thinking some of this will be changing. We’ll never get rid of all the rogue police officers, but something will change. Like how about a national registry of cops who should be banned for life from that profession.

Arapaho, if you’re reading right now, a comment on your comments about overnight lows in SoCal.

The reason that they’re so high relative to normal is that we’re in an El Niño. Sure, a weak one, but still an El Niño. Besides increased rain, that also means that temps are higher than normal.

    • 119 arapaho415
      December 8, 2025 at 9:40 pm

Don’t recall that was true in previous El Ninos, and I’ve lived in SoCal 50+ years.

It’s not yet winter, but the reason the nighttime lows concern me is because of last January — when it felt like a desert summer for more than a week — which I’ve not experienced here before either.
