This morning after reading the horrific news of the NC murders, I mentioned how I will feel difficulty facing my two Muslim students tomorrow. So, I decided to do something positive, which I would have done anyway, but felt especially important now. A little thing, but…..Khalid’s wife had a baby boy Monday night so he wasn’t in class Tuesday. I don’t know if he’ll be back by tomorrow, but I bought a congratulatory card today for him and his wife for all the class to sign, and a small gift from us. I feel so helpless…….but our minister keeps reminding us, act where you are….find something positive to do.
This is a great gesture Carolyn - I’m sure your students will appreciate it very much.
That’s a good thing to do, Carolyn. I hope Khalid comes to the class and realizes how much people support him.
