Good morning all! I haven’t been following closely on this so can someone clarify the reason for the trip west for POTUS this past weekend? It seems he might be using this house in Arizona as an alternative to Camp David?
For the last three or four years during the President’s holiday week-end FLOTUS and the girls has gone to Aspen to ski, as POTUS has gone to Palm Spring for his golf.
President Obama isn’t in Arizona. He’s in California. He usually travels west (California) during President’s Day for meetings with foreign leaders for foreign policy discussions. Then he visits the golf course after the meetings are concluded, so he can relax. He was in California this year for a cybersecurity summit.

Report: Netanyahu Might Have Leaked Details Of U.S.-Iran Nuclear Talks
U.S. officials suspect Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu authorized leaking details of U.S. nuclear negotiations with Iran to Israeli journalists, according to The Washington Post’s David Ignatius.
Concerns that Israeli officials had leaked key details about those negotiations, including that the U.S. offered to let Iran enrich uranium with “6,500 or more centrifuges as part of a final deal,” has prompted the U.S. to limit the amount of sensitive information it exchanges with Israel about the Iran nuclear negotiations, Ignatius reported.
White House spokesman Alistair Baskey, Ignatius noted, denied a report on Sunday by Israel’s Channel 2 news that the Obama administration had completely cut communications with Israel on the Iranian talks.
White House officials suggested that those reports were actually misleading, as centrifuge numbers in the negotiations are part of a larger package that also includes Iran’s nuclear stockpile and what type of centrifuges Iran would be allowed to operate, according to Ignatius.

Prosecutors: Jewish woman beaten, harassed in conversion attempt
BOISE — A Boise woman is facing felony charges after police say she attacked a Jewish acquaintance, stomping on the woman’s neck as part of a bizarre bid to convert her to Christianity.
Margurite Dawn Haragan, 58, has been charged with two counts of malicious harassment in an attack police have labeled a hate crime.
Prosecutors say the incident started when Haragan showed up at the victim’s home Feb. 5. It’s not clear how the two women know each other.
“The defendant was banging on the front window yelling at her that she better believe in Jesus and she was not going to leave until she did believe in Jesus,” Ada County Prosecutor Dave Roscheck said. He said the victim, identified in court only as “A.G.,” opened her door to tell Haragan to leave and to write down her license plate number.
That’s when the suspect slapped her in the face and dragged her to the ground by her hair, Roscheck said.
“The defendant began kicking the victim in the stomach and thigh area,” he said. “During this time the defendant was screaming at the victim that she better accept Jesus or she would not let up.”

A man from South Africa, where people drive on the left side of the road, couldn’t break that habit on Owl Creek Road on Sunday morning and caused a head-on collision, said Snowmass Village’s police chief.
No one was injured, but the accident closed the road – minutes before first lady Michelle Obama, her daughters and their Secret Service motorcade drove through en route to Two Creeks for their second day of skiing.
“They had to go around the accident this morning,” said Police Chief Brian Olson.

Dispatchers have announced that the towns of Adena Village and Boomer Bottom are being evacuated because of a nearby train derailment.
3:00 pm
Water intakes in Montgomery and Cedar Grove have been closed because of the train accident along the Kanawha River. That is according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau for Public Health.
It is confirmed that the train was carrying crude oil, some of which spilled into the Kanawha River. While the intakes are closed, customers are urged to conserve water. The Montgomery Water System is part of West Virginia American Water Co.

A man from South Africa, where people drive on the left side of the road, couldn’t break that habit on Owl Creek Road on Sunday morning and caused a head-on collision, said Snowmass Village’s police chief.
No one was injured, but the accident closed the road – minutes before first lady Michelle Obama, her daughters and their Secret Service motorcade drove through en route to Two Creeks for their second day of skiing.
“They had to go around the accident this morning,” said Police Chief Brian Olson.

Dispatchers have announced that the towns of Adena Village and Boomer Bottom are being evacuated because of a nearby train derailment.
3:00 pm
Water intakes in Montgomery and Cedar Grove have been closed because of the train accident along the Kanawha River. That is according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau for Public Health.
It is confirmed that the train was carrying crude oil, some of which spilled into the Kanawha River. While the intakes are closed, customers are urged to conserve water. The Montgomery Water System is part of West Virginia American Water Co.
Two entire towns evacuated, yet the lead story was an annoying female reporter complaining about the cold weather (not sure if she was in Boston or NYC, that’s how lousy reporting is these days).
The closing story was about a woman who has set the world’s record for catching bridal bouquets, which annoyed the heck of me for so many reasons.
