Sorry for my funny language!
Hello No Child and Congrats on # 1 ! :)
Thanks Sabreen.
I feel physically ill reading this stuff - thank you so much Nerdy for having the stomach to compile it, it can never be shared enough.
I almost threw up, Chips. The Ferguson PD laughed while their dog attacked a 14 year old Black child. A child for crying out loud. Jesus Christ!!!! They don’t see our bodies. They don’t see our humanity. They don’t see that we have value and worth.
This is the violence that is happening to Black bodies around the country. This is not just happening in Ferguson. The Ferguson PD is the LAPD, the NYPD, the Cleveland PD, etc. Whether one lives in a red or blue state, this is pretty much police departments around the country. This is why Black people shake in fear whenever we encounter cops. This is why Black people say whenever we encounter cops, there is more than a possibility that we will not return safely home, but will end up dead at the hands of cops.
Black people are under assault and under siege by the people sworn to serve and protect them. It is appalling.
Nerdy, I need to find the comment from a while back you posted about your own experience with cops and the advice you were given if you were confronted by them, it’s all I could think of when I read this stuff. With the Selma anniversary approaching, sometimes I wonder has anything ****ing changed?
I felt exactly the same way Chips. Its just disgusting!!!
Thanks, NW. Sad lecture but very necessary to shed light on what goes on in many places, whether we want to believe it or not.
It seem the KKK have taken off their white hoods and sheets and put on police uniforms.
This!!
Can I tweet this - please!
LIVE NOW: Attorney General Holder - http://feed.matthewkeys.net/cbsnews/newspath2/
Thank you so much BFF
It’s just so hard to comprehend this level of casual evil. Yes, evil. That’s what it is.
Gold :star: for NCLB
Riveting listening to AG Holder and the despicable and cruel schemes in Ferguson, MO.
Short version: Senate Fails. Period.
Why the SC thinks they should gut voting rights…. Everything is fine now and there’s no racism anymore. Ok.
And if poor Michael Brown had not been gunned down these outrageous practices would have remained hidden for god knows how long?
I felt physically ill reading these. Thank you Nerdy for providing this information.
The great Soul that is Michael Brown gave his life to bring this blow to the darkness, to the hatred, to the evil. On a Soul level, he must have known his youth, his innocence and his gentle heart would lend the impact needed to slap people awake. Go with God, Mr. Michael Brown ~ you have given your all to move humanity foreward. Thank you. Bless you. <3
If makes me so mad and sad that the good AA people of Ferguson were subjected to this horrible nightmare treatment. I would have packed up my bags and left before giving them my money in taxes to pay their salaries. There must have been some officer’s that felt this was unfair treatment but did nothing. I’ve had people tell me, “well they should do whatever the police say”. I tell them I wish they could be AA for one day to see how these people are treated and tell me that. If the police treated them that way I can just hear the complaints of how the government is so corrupt.
I hope the AG’s speech ends with removal of that entire police department, replaced with federal marshals, as a start. I don’t know how it’s done, but I cannot see one more day that anyone in that entire law enforcement chain (and the other city and court officials who’ve been cited) should remain in place.
Sick to my stomach that human beings continue to treat other human beings - moms and dads and children and grandparents, some only guilty of parking illegally or their “manner of walking down a roadway” - in these horrific ways, for years, and get away with it. I hope there are individual charges brought against the police bosses and anybody else who deserves them.
But does it run on fossil fuel, or water? Because if the former, there soon will be no earth left to drive it on. If the latter, maybe we are making progress.
My heart is screaming as I read this. I know there are some backward, ignorant and cruel people on this Earth, but I had no idea they live at this level of stupidity, willing to harm others at any and all cost. I can apologize, but it will not heal the ongoing wounds inflicted on people who do not deserve such contempt. I am so sorry, so sorry.
THANK-YOU Nerdy - I have very little else to add except to say that the info contained in these tweets speaks for itself and is an empirical and indisputable validation of what all AA’s in this country have been talking about for decades and centuries. I hope that that the DOJ continues to expose more of this systematic racial persecution from so-called law enforcement and judiciary officials - because we know it exists in many other local and state districts and jurisdictions outside of Ferguson MO.
Thanks again Nerdy for a job well-done!!!

Thank you No Child!
Thank you!
I feel like I’m going to throw up. This is horrific and sickening. I thank AG Holder for pointing out that this is not only happening in Ferguson. This is in every police department around the country, big and small. This is what is happening to Black people.
Just Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Throwing up is an appropriate response.
So would throwing things.
Hideous. This must change. Now.
i hear CBC is starting on C-SPAN.
BBL.
Nerdy, I don’t know how far the power of the Justice Department extends here, but every member of the Ferguson PD has to go-those who deliberately and systematically violated the civil rights of African Americans and those who sat on the sidelines and condoned it. The purge has to be complete from the top down and every new hire has to be subjected to the most rigorous testing and intensive training. Then the process has to move on, city by city, town by town across the country until the cancer is exposed and excised. We can’t call ourselves a free country, a democracy, exceptional or great in any way while this horror continues in our towns and cities. It’s time for everyone-not just the Justice Department-to demand change.
By the way, anyone who doesn’t feel like throwing up after reading this should take a long look at themselves in the mirror and try to figure out what went wrong with their character.
I wanted to kick the wall after reading this.
A very honest, comprehensive, yet disturbing report by the AG. He didn’t take questions but left amid of timid applause. Even though the report was hard to listen to, people in attendance wanted to show their appreciation for the truth by clapping. Very sad day.
I PUT THIS ON MY FB….I LOVE THIS MAN…HE IS NOT LEAVING…I AM LOCKING ALL THE DOORS!
AG Holder has lived with the evidence he presented today for many months. His staff has been thorough and he’s probably been sickened by it all. I can understand why he may be soul sick at this point and want very much to hand over the reins to Loretta Lynch should she ever be confirmed. But, personally, I’m glad he was the one to complete and deliver this report.
So am I. My respect for this man could not be higher. He is the most impressive AG in my entire life, and it’s a long one. He has had a rough row to hoe, and he has done it admirably. He must be exhausted.
This report is stomach turning, but necessary. I know these things happen in my own community, by observation.
Painful as this is to read, these things must be brought to light. People like me, HAVE to read and acknowledge these abuses, so this can be changed. The entire atmosphere these emails portray is evil, absolutely evil.
We should be pleased that’s the only thing he tweeted. He was all over the “e-mail epidemy” among he big toddlers at the WHPC.
He sure reads your tweets - retweeted your tweet with the video of the speech :)
Well its day 6 of the head cold so I decided it was time to stop self medicating and go to the doctor. I have an severe upper respiratory infection. So after some good meds I am finally able to breathe through my nose again. :)
He also said no work for the rest of the week so I get to hang out the rest of the week here at TOD.
Hope you feel better soon - glad you were able to get a Dr’s prescription and order for REST. What better way to recover than spending time on TOD :)
YAY!! But hope you feel better soon.
Rest and take good care of your best friend, your body.
Hope you feel better soon, Donna. Glad your doctor was able to get you back on the road to recovery.
Yay that you get to hang out for the rest of the week on TOD. Must look for naughty mat moment to get you in trouble. ;)
Thanks NW. I am SURE that a naughty mat moment would make me feel much better. :)
Yes, please…..
Donna, I could have told you that on day 3. Yeah, I take forever to go to the doctor as well.
I’m an idiot LL. I kept telling myself, “I’ll feel better tomorrow” but it never happened. Theo67 suggested to me that I might need an antibiotic so I finally decided No Mas enough is enough I need professional help. And now of course my regret is that I waited so long. :(
Well, I waited almost 2 weeks, so don’t feel bad.
Don’t fool around with respiratory ailments!
Please take good care Donna!! Wishing you a complete recovery, soon.
Glad you went to the doc and hope the antibiotics clear you up fast. It’s exhausting to have a URI.
Glad you got yourself to the doctor. This can turn to pneumonia if not treated. Good advice and good meds from your doctor!
Take care of yourself, Donna.
take care of yourself Donna
I hope.
Am I the only one thinking that Iran might just rush “a deal” to spite Bibi?
Secretly praying for a deal, even if this is the reason we get one. I was also thinking that POTUS himself can use Bibi’s ADD to put additional pressure on Iran. There are many ways Bibi’s impatience and foolishness might help. One will be surprised!
I’m wondering the same. I don’t think they’ll rush but I do think they are likely more motivated than ever.
SOS Kerry is not expected to meet again until the 15th, which is dangerously close to the deadline. I hope that means substantive progress.
Fingers crossed! The main goal is getting the deal, under President Obama’s leadership. The minor goal (in my head) is proving the irresponsibility of Bibi’s words to Congress, against what really would keep Israel more secure.
This is Iran’s LAST CHANCE for a deal. The next POTUS and Congress will not pursue this again.
So true. Just said a quick prayer we get the deal!
Yes! I am praying for this, jaquelineoboomer, that the malicious, gloating, hypocritical and evil actions taken by him and all the dishonest supporters of it, could in fact be cause for an opening of opportunity for the good honest brokers involved in this; that Iran sees and responds to this attempt to inflame and manipulate the situation in a way that benefits the process and therefore the world.
Yes. Whatever it takes!
I’m praying for that as well Nancie. A good deal that the President endorses is exactly the antidote to the Bibi/Boehner poison that has polluted the atmosphere in DC for too long.
My earlier comment to you, Jackie O, has disappeared!!!
I also thought that Iran might use Bibi’s ADD to get a compromise with the US, thus showing the world among the three (USA, Iran, and Bibi) who is the illogical party. My thought also went around how POTUS might use Bibi’s theatrics to pressure Iran on a compromise. Either way, the winners here would not include Bibi if/when there is a deal. And the peoples of USA and Israel will see who is the real leader. But wouldn’t that be nice for the school boys in the yard, the GOP Congress that was propping Bibi???
The school boys can go take a time out! I would love to see the deal!
nope. I think so too.
NCLB had reported this good news on the last thread - so just bringing it over for those who hadn’t yet seen it:
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
Eight Democrats voted with Republicans to override Obama: Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Mark Warner (Va.), Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Bob Casey (Pa.), Michael Bennet (Colo.), Tom Carper (Del.) and Jon Tester (Mont.).
Can’t be seen to support the black guy - pfffft
Like they didn’t show the black guy their support Tuesday when they went to hear Netanyahu and his right wing B.S.
8 DINOS, representing the 1% and the corporations. NOT the people, 99ts. Hateful losers
I see most of them won’t have the pipeline running through their states……
The DOJ will continue to work with Ferguson and the surrounding municipalities … although anybody who still has a soul wants immediate action, I realize “due process” actually must occur. Unlike what African Americans have received in similar situations, all across the country. I guess a federal monitor will be appointed, the DOJ will work with the municipalities and communities, and a decade from now, maybe the grandchildren of Ferguson will see the results. But at the very least, some things will change in the interim, for the good, if only by force.
My question: based on this report, can some cases sue the Ferguson PD?
That was another thought I had … all kinds of attorneys should be swarming into Ferguson and the surrounding communities. Of course, it’ll be the taxpayers picking up the tabs because the police and city officials are “protected” by their employers, but maybe some PERSONAL responsibility could be assured. Take the assets of those who took them from the members of the community whose biggest crime was to be stuck living there.
The tax payers should pick up the tab in my opinion. Tax payers are the ones who enable corruption like this and sit on their thumbs.
Well, that’s true, for sure. Except that sometimes the victims are the taxpayers.
I read one city fired all their police due to complaints and corruption that is why that officer who murdered Michael Brown wound up in Ferguson. All these municipalities need to fire then only hire those that had NO arrest that were shady and punitive. I hope none of them wind up in SoCal.
Yes, I’m thinking maybe the federal monitors will see that through!
I am sick and to my stomach. I am shaking all over. I am angry.
Those who know how to get a prayer through, please pray for me……
I hear you. God will hold your hands through this, too. He always does.
NCLB, thank you. I know that you are right.
But it is so disheartening to know that some people treat animals better than humans.
I know that everything has a purpose and God has a plan.
My faith is what keeping me right now so that I can be able to continue to pray for the people of Ferguson.
This never was a moment. It is a movement.
It has to happen at a time such as this with POB and AG Holder in the positions they have been predestined.
AG Holder for President would be absolutely phenomenal!!
Talk about a “game change”
_/I\_ On it, LDS. <3 Keep You The Heart.
I don’t think I can have any higher respect for AG Holder than before today but he just blew my mind. His report codifies what we all witnessed night after night in Ferguson, only much much much worse. He told it straight and without any sugar-coating.
Nerdy & TOD - My God! I can only weep. I actually thought when I was protesting in the late 60’s and early 70’s that shit was going to end. I was so wrong!
Eric Holder for President.
Tell me about it.
Oh Lord these people would have the worst case of derangement syndrome that could not be treated…..
Somehow this seemed an appropriate post for my blog:
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme
See everyone in a bit.
Chipstix, thankful for this place where this story can be told in this powerful, share-able way. NerdyWonka, you do a great service everyday, with the funny, the new, the important and the sad, but this is exceptionally worthy and powerful. I shared it on my FB, so grateful to have these gathered in one place. I feel ill and dirty and sad and ashamed; and then angry and determined to help make this old, ignored, pervasive, glibly-denied story visible and loud and clear. We cannot keep looking away. Silence means consent. I love AG Holder so much, and lift him up along with you two, and all the warriors who are shining lights and fighting back.
When I said “We cannot keep looking away…” , I meant We the people of the USA in general, and we white people in particular; not the people here, the good souls of our TOD family.
You can download the report here:

Let’s keep this real!
This is happening right here in NYPD, NJ, Connecticut, Boston, All Upstate NY.
To Michael Brown and his family, I am truly sorry there was no one listening.
Thank you AG Holder for bringing it front and center.
Every human being who has an ounce of compassion should be at the Selma March this weekend. It is even happening there.
The person who the bridge is named after was a racist evil man.
I tried to find a hotel for a month and there is none available.
I am so glad our President , First Lady and the girls are going to be there.
My hope is that it will have a profound effect upon them as it had upon me when I was their age and marched.
It helped to mold and shape who I am today.
My heart is so heavy and sadden after reading AG Holder’s report.

Is this man nuts? What on earth does he mean by those obnoxious words? This statement alone should disqualify him from appearing before the Supreme Court. He’s a racist moron.
Where are all the #IStandWithRanders?
Their base might not have an appetite for that type of information spread out like this.
Libertarians are mostly racist themselves. Notice how they always take the cops side, almost like they harbor similar authoritarianism.
Omg. This is disgusting, sad and repulsive. Even Potus And Flotus can never be spared from this racist and degradation. I weep for this country. As we all know and are aware, this is happening in all cities and towns.
What does this even mean? Isn’t Ferguson *the* issue here??
Not sure what his agenda is, but I agree with you Chips. The DOJ report IS about Ferguson…and by focusing on Ferguson, no one is saying or implying that the 89 other municipalities don’t exist! In fact, just the opposite..we are saying let’s use what we now know happened in Ferguson to address a more widespread and nationally systemic issue….
Hopefruit, you know my fixation with Christine Byers, the St Louis Dispatch creature who acted like the Ferguson PD and Wilson’s PR woman through all this? I noticed she RTed this, while showing next to no interest in the DOJ findings re systematic racism. These people don’t even pretend any more, they are repulsive.
Very interesting…not surprising though. Byers and her ilk are truly disgusting human beings….
wonder if republicans will all of a sudden want to get lorretta lynch in there now? great work by a.g. holder.
I know you all are listening to the Black Caucus. But there is this:

BOOM!!
yup Jackiegrumbacher.
He can count on me.
What are the city of Ferguson going to do, get out there and ready some of those racists emails?
They will get out there and LIE until there are no lies left bella. They will then return to “business as usual”
If cities and states used proper taxes to fund their existence this would go away.
And just to mention - NO city the size of Ferguson needs 50 in the police department. In my world we have 1 police person for every 5-10000 or so people. We do have fewer guns than in the US - but in Ferguson the only gun problems come from the police.
I better get my sunglasses ready so I am not blinded by the WHITE !
The DOJ need to sue them and bankrupt them or they must fire all these officers who violated these people civil rights.
OT but I see where ManU slaughtered Newcastle while Chelsea just squeaked by over West Ham.

Sick at heart by this report, but not surprised. All you have to do is remember that Mike Brown initially was stopped for walking in an empty street which then escalated until he was dead.
