People need to stop doing this. It is hurtful and makes good people shy away from doing good deeds

LOL. This is what happens when you’re a bigot. You want to be a racist, a bigot, or prejudiced? You deserve to be mocked. To those saying, “this is so inappropriate,” good for your privilege. You’re not the one being marginalized. Bravo to those fighting back

White supremacy in a nutshell as explained by Ali

****

On point commentary by Sandy1110 in response to the Ali tweet

I think he’s on the money, Chips. Think about Megan Kelly on Fox – I think she was the one who went into a snit about Jesus and Santa Claus being white. I remember Bobby Kennedy putting out the question “What if Jesus is black?” Some people don’t want to go there. As Muhammad Ali said, this nation is conditioned to believe that white is the best at everything.

It also ties in with what LBJ said 50 years ago – to paraphrase, if you give the lowest white man something to look down on, he’ll empty his pockets for you. That was how southern politicians won whites – making them think that any and all of them were better than the BEST black man. That’s why we have the Sarah Palins and Tom Cottons – clearly not sharp tools – coming at this Harvard Law Review, with-honors President with unprecedented disrespect and arrogance.

Charlie Strong couldn’t get hired as a head coach in the SEC despite the fact he was the premiere Def. Coordinator at Florida, that produced two BCS national titles…he finally got hired at Louisville and then landed one of the Top 5 jobs in the country becoming HC at Texas….well now:

That would make Texas the only Big 5 conference with African-American head coaches in mens B-Ball & Football….keep in mind of the ~130 Division 1 football programs there are under 10 African-American HC…while the teams are over 75% black on average. In the NFL they had to institute the “Rooney” rule (in reference to former President Obama Amb. to Ireland & owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers) that requires any team that is hiring a new coach much interview an African-American candidate as part of the process.

Aaaaaaaaaand this is why UT Austin is the BEST!!!!!

Thanks so much for this LP. The background and how discrimination affects very qualified candidates. Hope the deal is finalized and Shaka gets to join his friend, Charlie, at UT Austin.

My pleasure, NW! I thought that news might be of particular interest to you. And like you, I hope they finalize the deal as well (last night when the rumors started swirling the VCU AD denied even being contacted by any program about Shaka Smart) ….today there are leaks of a 5-year deal!!! He had already turned down huge offers from multiple programs the last three years. He is one of the best young coach in D1…the production he got w/ minimal talent was amazing (got to the Final Four in 2011 as #11 seed…only been done 2x more in NCAA history)

Booom…Looks like it is all but official, Nerdy!

They way this stuff usually works is the AD has to work out the buyout in Shaka’s contract w/ VCU. Since Texas fired Rick Barnes Monday & he was hired by Tennessee yesterday…they won’t have to pay his buyout b/c the way contracts are structured whatever money Tenn. pays Barnes, the difference per year is all UT will be on the hook for, essentially leaving them w/ a blank check to pay Shaka….which is why VCU knowing this will hold out for as much $$$ as possible. I bet this will be sorted out by dinner at the latest tomorrow.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are roaming in the forest when they come across a lake. The water was enticing and Snow White decides to take a bath. So she tells the Dwarfs to turn around while she is taking a bath in the lake. The Dwarfs protest vehemently because they want to take a bath too.

Snow White relents and says “When I get into the water and you hear the splash, you can turn around.” Snow White undresses and as she is about to jump into the water, at that very moment, she is startled by a frog who jumps into the water before she can. The moment the Dwarfs hear the SPLASH, they turn around and see Snow White standing NAKED.

Now, given that this incident is an idea for a TV ad, what product is being advertised?

    That’s easy … 7 Up!

Remember this picture from the other day? ….notice the blue tent background w/ Kerry & Moniz

LAUSANNE, Switzerland — If American negotiators are ultimately able to conclude a “political understanding” with Iran on its nuclear program, as they said they were striving to do Thursday morning, the seeds might have been planted earlier in the week. With only hours to go on Tuesday night before the expiration of the end-of-the-month deadline that had been set by the White House, Secretary of State John Kerry and Energy Secretary Ernest J. Moniz stepped into a large tent erected in a luxury hotel here and dialed into a video conference with President Obama. There was no way to meet the deadline, Mr. Kerry said, from the tent, which was designed to defeat eavesdropping. The Iranians, he said, perhaps sensing that the deadline meant a lot in Washington and little in Tehran, were intransigent.

“They were turning our own deadline against us to see if we would give ground,” just to be able to claim that the March 31 date was met, one senior official said, who would not be identified because of the secrecy surrounding the talks.Mr. Obama, according to two people familiar with the discussion, told Mr. Kerry and Mr. Moniz to ignore the deadline, make it clear he was ready to walk away and leave all sanctions on Iran in place and see if that would change the dynamic…..continued

What a fraud…media will give him a pass just like they did with him breaking FL law and not turning over e-mails for. I don’t remember a 3 week media shit storm about Romney purchasing and then destroying all his hard drives before he left as Gov either.

“Jeb Bush appeared to modify his public comments about Indiana’s “religious freedom” law on Wednesday in a closed-door Silicon Valley fund-raiser, telling a small group of potential supporters that a “consensus-oriented” approach would have been better at the outset. Mr. Bush’s comments were strikingly different in tone and in scope from what he said on Monday night in an interview with the conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt. In that interview he praised Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana for doing the “right thing” and said that the new law was similar to one in Florida and to a law signed by President Bill Clinton in 1993…continued”.

Jeb Bush received the request from one of his campaign contributors, a man who made his living managing money: Could the then-governor of Florida make an introduction to state pension overseers? The donor was angling to gain some of the state’s investment for his private fund.

It was 2003, still a few years before regulators would begin prosecuting public officials for directing pension investment deals to political allies. Bush obliged, putting the donor, Jon Kislak, in touch with the Florida pension agency’s executive director. Then he followed up personally, according to emails reviewed by the International Business Times, ensuring that Kislak’s proposal was considered by state decision makers.

Here was a moment that at once underscored Jeb Bush’s personal attention to political allies and his embrace of the financial industry, which has delivered large donations to his campaigns. ……………….. //
