Oh my beautiful pictures. PBO is so awesome. but what’s really awesome is that a four year old understood is that a balled fist is not an inivitation to a fight but a friendly warm greeting between us humans of all ages.
I’m with you, NW! I just hope the judges somehow don’t end the fight in a split decision-for the sole purpose of manufacturing a re-match. If Floyd gets hurt Pacquiao wont relent until he finishes him off…If Manny throws reckless punches…Floyd will catch him like Marquez did. I want a knockout either way!
Sorry was trying to multi-task watching the NFL draft (missed the last part)….you have to pay $100 PPV on HBO or SHO to watch it live….or wait 2 weeks from now when they re-air it. You can follow Dan Rafael’s round-by-round scoring http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/post/_/id/12766/arum-mayweather-pacquiao-isnt-biggest-in-boxing-history
or his twitter count
https://twitter.com/danrafaelespn
Only other option is going to a bar that is airing it.
The sad part is they are on pace to make ~170k per/sec in the fight…assuming it goes 12 rounds. A minimum $300 million 60/40 split in Mayweather’s favor…which will give him plenty of money to continue to abuse women, lawyer up and discredit them. His last girlfriend (currently dating rapper Nelly, just filed suit for domestic abuse against him recently.
Floyd is favored +190 or ~2/1 to win, but I got several prop bets with Pacquiao knocking him out…. they will fiddle for about 2 1/2 rounds and then Manny is going to unleash hell on him. This is the one time I will be pulling for an extremely homophobic person under any circumstances. (plus he owes ~50 million in back taxes!)
Which is where they should be Nerdy, the media shouldn’t even talk about this creep’s boxing, they should highlight his abuse of women at every opportunity. He’ll kill a woman one day soon because he’ll believe he’ll get away with that too.
Yep! Try to ban women reporters who have the audacity to ask him about his previous altercations…(while he conveniently forgets he has already served jail time for one charge)
My sisters and I always watch the Kentucky Derby, because My Old Kentucky Home (the opening music and state song) was one of our mother’s favorites - I can still see her in my heart, enjoying it in her rocking chair!
That was my Kentucky Derby sports analysis for today. :)
***
I looked up the lyrics - the song was composed in 1852 and the lyrics rewritten in 1986, because, of course, the “nostalgia” wasn’t so nostalgic for many Kentucky citizens:
***
“My Old Kentucky Home” became the official state song of Kentucky on March 19, 1928, by an act of the Kentucky legislature. In 1986, Japanese students visiting the Kentucky General Assembly sang the song as a gesture of respect, but Carl Hines (D-Louisville), the only black state representative at the time, was quoted as saying that the lyrics “convey connotations of racial discrimination that are not acceptable.” Within days, Hines sponsored House Resolution 159, which revised the lyrics to amend the word “darkies” to “people” at all official state functions involving the performance of the song … Foster’s composition is the official song of the Kentucky Derby.
***
Good thing one rep came along more than 130 years later, to amend the lyrics. Unreal.
I have posted and reposted Spandan’s excellent articles and it makes not a blind bit of difference to the people who have made up their minds like concrete. The next time I see one of those articles about how conservatives and liberals think differently, I’m going to laugh myself sick, and then smack something. Or some one. However, I’m glad to add this article to my armoury of facts-that-can-be-ignored. Grrrrr!

You know what Mary, I’ve encountered the same response including, sadly, my nephew who is a law professor and a strong supporter of Elizabeth Warren. He keeps insisting that TPP has been negotiated in secret by corporations.
SUDDENLY…I HAVE A VISION OF SOME TRAVELLLLLLING GOLF CLUBS….AND A PRESIDENTIAL ‘TEE’ PARTY!….ENJOY…ENJOY…I LOVE MY PRESIDENT AND I LOVE IT EVEN MORE WHEN HE ESCAPES FROM THE DC CESSPOOL!
So, that’s where he was goin’ on that helicopter! Have a good one, Mr. President!
Just saw this gentleman - an FM-radio host from Baltimore - on CNN and he seems to really know what’s up in the community, and is glad to speak up: @marcsteiner
I like to hear what the locals are reporting, too - the ones who know the city.
Police are enforcers not protectors. There are more effective ways rising out of the community to work with our children.
CNN interviewed Robert Valentine of Baltimore, a 72-year-old Vietnam Veteran, who says he’s bringing some of his buddy vets back later … and was one of the elders standing in the streets Monday night and beyond, telling some of the youthful protesters to stop getting off track in the peaceful protest. The host asked how will it be different in future than in the past. He said, “I’ll be in the streets. I’ll be walking.” Obviously, he said more - he has a real proven message for Baltimore’s youth (as in: “Learn more, be more”) - but he’s IN.
Mr. Valentine was a lot calmer today, with a calm message - seems like he realized he has to pace himself because it’s gonna be a long haul - but basically the same as he started out on the streets of Baltimore on Monday:
Yes. He also mentioned something that the young people need to look up the history of protests in Baltimore, etc., and “go to the library, look it up on the computer,” - learn more. One thing he knows: this is a major teachable moment. Not just for the youth of Baltimore, whom he’s concerned with most, but for our entire country aka America’s “ship of fools.”

Do you ever read Maeve Binchy? I ‘rediscovered’ her lately and have been collecting and reading her book - have read over 15 of them in the last two months. Keeps me out of trouble (and offline).
I haven’t for years VC, but always adored her, she was the sweetest, loveliest, kindest, funniest woman. And an absolute liberal - which made the fact that her brother was/is one of Ireland’s most batshit crazy conservatives a hoot. How does one family produce two kids like that? :-)
Have you ever heard her tell this story, it’s hilarious:
Thank you, you dahhling! I had never heard her before.
Like you I hadn’t read her in years but I tend to keep all the books that I read and liked, so not too long ago when I was feeling restless I pulled a handful from the shelf and reread them. Since then I’ve acquired quite a few more and have been keeping myself entertained. It’s been great fun!

Hello TOD.
Hello, Hello, Hello, Lady Chips :)
You don’t know how irate I was for the last 24 hours. TOD is my Drug, my Web Salvation and my Pacifier…… ;)
One of my Siblings suggested I dump Chrome and try another Browser. I finally did for my addiction at TOD must be fixed :)
Agree with GCL that PBO looks so happy, he’s walking on air!
Mentioned earlier that IIRC, this is the first time during PBO’s Presidency that no (perceived) crisis is looming on the horizon to interrupt the First Family’s enjoyment of this perk of being POTUS. Hope they truly relax, have fun and enjoy the bounty of Spring in the Maryland mountains. :)

Luca later nodded in agreement that this was a cool experience.”

Have had a bunch of folks asking questions about the Mayweather issue. Here's what happened: After asking (cont) http://t.co/aD1ekEVTdS
— Rachel Nichols (@Rachel__Nichols) May 2, 2025
Have had a bunch of folks asking questions about the Mayweather issue. Here’s what happened: After asking tough questions of Floyd Mayweather on my program, I was not offered press credentials to cover tonight’s fight. In an email dated April 23, I was told I would only be credentialed for the run-up events through the week, but in bold, italic letters the email stated “you do not have any access Saturday to any services or events.” A CNN producer revisited the issue with the Mayweather camp on April 29, confirming to Mayweather’s publicist that I would be in Las Vegas, and the publicist replied that I would still be denied a fight night credential. I was told the same thing when I arrived at the credential office in person on May 1, by two separate officials, in front of several other people. It doesn’t surprise me that now, after facing significant backlash, the Mayweather camp has reversed its position. But despite this, and other outside parties generously offering me their seats, I will not attend the fight. I will also not let fear of retaliation prevent me from asking the tough questions the public deserves answers to in the future.
Here's my interview with Floyd Mayweather from this past fall, the same week the Ray Rice video was leaked: https://t.co/yFiBhEQhFb
In older times it used to be gin - hence why it is called “mother’s milk”. I have no medical clue vc but would refrain from giving any alcohol to a child - I might add that some of the solutions to babes with reflux when my babe was young were little more than sleeping syrup (most no longer available)

Sorry - I reread and realised you wanted an informed reply - which mine was not. I would be shocked as well - but I can almost understand if someone is at the end of their tether and hasn’t had a good night’s sleep for a long time. Relatives of mine went through all sorts of trials with suggestions from doctors, relatives, “sleeping groups”, nurses etc etc all giving ideas and 2 years on still have a babe that doesn’t sleep. My suggestion was ear plugs.
Hi
Hello Linda, I see we entered at the same time - Congrats! :D

Sorry, Hello!
Hello :-)
POTUS is looking pretty happy :-)
Yes he is!
Oh my beautiful pictures. PBO is so awesome. but what’s really awesome is that a four year old understood is that a balled fist is not an inivitation to a fight but a friendly warm greeting between us humans of all ages.
Thanks NW for the pics of PBO :-)
:)
Oops, hell
Would you rather be at the Kentucky Derby
..or in Vegas at the Pac-man/Mayweather fight
At this point in time, hands down the Mayweather v Pacquiao fight.
What channel is the fight being aired and is it still at 11PM ET?
I’m with you, NW! I just hope the judges somehow don’t end the fight in a split decision-for the sole purpose of manufacturing a re-match. Why isn’t Floyd Mayweather in prison? :-(

Because he makes too much money for Las Vegas….did you see his latest stunt they tried to pull this afternoon?
My gawd, he’s vile - I hope he gets mashed tonight.
The sad part is they are on pace to make ~170k per/sec in the fight…assuming it goes 12 rounds. A minimum $300 million 60/40 split in Mayweather’s favor…which will give him plenty of money to continue to abuse women, lawyer up and discredit them. The whole thing is obscene, when I read that account by his son of witnessing him beat his mother, I almost cried. He’s a repulsive human being.
He and his camp stupid. This only puts his domestic violence abuses back to the spotlight
Which is where they should be Nerdy, the media shouldn’t even talk about this creep’s boxing, they should highlight his abuse of women at every opportunity. He’ll kill a woman one day soon because he’ll believe he’ll get away with that too.

It just ended….no spoilers, but it was one of the best/closest finishes I’ve seen in a while!!!
Thanks - I’m just getting to the song on my DVR!

Here is a great spoof by ESPN’s Michael Smith and Jamelle Hill :D :D :D

Worrisome question(directed primarily to anyone with concrete knowledge in this area) - Isn’t giving brandy to a child to help him/her sleep unsafe?
In older times it used to be gin - hence why it is called “mother’s milk”. I have no medical clue vc but would refrain from giving any alcohol to a child - I might add that some of the solutions to babes with reflux when my babe was young were little more than sleeping syrup (most no longer available)
It’s not me, TS. Just discovered today that a relative gives her daughter brandy to help her fall asleep, and was so shocked that I didn’t know what to say. As far as I know this child doesn’t have reflux or anything of this nature - she simply is awake a lot at nights.
I give Danny a bottle of brandy every night and he sleeps like a baby
Hmmm. He also collects tree limbs when he’s awake. Worth pondering.
No need to be sorry - you gave me an answer instead of leaving me hanging. ;) TY
I am seeing what you’ve done. I like it. A lot!! <3
