Righteous rant
1. So Hill D's "who have been starving for attention from the Obama administration" are delighted that Hillary is promising to change that.

The Mike Grunwald series is wonderful.
I am happy to see that Empire is getting recognition. What an addictive show.
As I mentioned on the last thread Ben Carson’s tweet about how the Supreme Court doesn’t matter, only Congress must be heeded, tells me that Carson, at least, sees the writing on the wall. Another Dem President and soon a Liberal SCOTUS. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course—this new rule only works for them if GOP keeps the Senate.
Aw, I also feel sorry for the gall bladder :-(

Amazing roundup of so much abuse of our fellow citizens.
I’m reposting this from the Early Bird thread because I failed to make it clear that this young man, traveling with his life-savings and then some (money borrowed from relatives) on Amtrak to start a music career in Los Angeles was the ONLY Black person in his train car and the ONLY person questioned and then relieved of the cash he was carrying, even though he had an envelope from the bank in Michigan he had withdrawn the funds from.
He’s now $16,000 poorer, and the DEA can get away with this.
Is there any way this can be brought to the attention of #BlackTwitter? Americans need to be alerted to this miscarriage of “justice.”
BTW, MSM failed to mention that the DEA chief who recently resigned was a GWB appointee, not one selected by the Obama Adm.
P.S. I responded to jojo and ggail on the last thread, but my comment is in WP moderation. :(
Hi arapaho, can you repeat your comment here - maybe in abbreviated form. I bet it was about our weather :-)

Would love to see the dudebro emoprogs wake up to the fact that they are so self-absorbed that they consider #Snowden a “hero” because they are afraid the NSA might learn of their grocery lists/affairs, etc.
Will we see any mea culpas?
That’s easy. They won’t believe the source because he is a CIA guy. Just like the tea-partyists, they refuse to believe anything that doesn’t fit with their predetermined narrative. I laugh when I see them whining about privacy by posting on Facebook. I don’t see them appalled that wikileaks, when they hacked Sony, released a searchable datatabase of customer info including name, address, credit card, etc. No wikileaks is Robin Hood. When my daughter was little, I was having a lot of trouble toilet training her because she refused to give me the satisfaction of seeing her use the pot. ( To say she was headstrong is a massive understatement). Finally I set up the paddling pool in the back yard with the pot next to it and told her she could not go in the pool until she had used it and that everyone had to use the toilet before they went swimming- it was a law. Then I retreated to the kitchen to watch her through the window. Looking up and seeing me, she picked up the pot and moved it to the fence at the end of the driveway, the only spot where I could not see her. Everyone ELSE in the neighborhood could see her, but not me. This strikes me as the same attitude these people show when they are so scared of government spying on them, yet post all their most private stuff on every internet social media site available. What more could the government learn by spying on them???. But it’s okay for friends, friends of friends, strangers and hackers to know. Same three-year-old mindset, but my daughter grew out of it, to become a sane, productive, loving, and beautiful citizen, and they are still stuck at 3. And if you ever meet my daughter and tell her I told you this, I will hunt you down and it will not end well. For you. ;)

Be safe, Carolyn. Let us know how you are.
Carolyn, ((((((((((((( loving hugs of protections and safety for you and hubby.))))))))))))))) My thoughts and prayers cometh your way. Love you dear one. HZ
I watched The Fifth Estate starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange and the Snowden “documentary” by Glenn Greenwald and Laura Poitras. In both cases I reminded myself while watching to try to stay neutral and unemotional—open mind.
That plan either didn’t work or the assumptions i had going in were accurate so that more info didn’t change the underlying truths.
Julian’s last name—the first three letters—are perfect for him. A self-involved narcissist who deserves the continued confinement to the one room Ecuadorian embassy in London that is his current reality. He didn’t care who or what he hurt. He can go F Himself.
On Snowden…OMG dumb beyond belief. Before this mockumentary I called him a traitor and a spy. Now it seems he was more a tool of RW tricksters and loudmouths with no important point to make. Jeremy Scahill is a good example of this genre. He yells a lot about things that do not interest or concern most people. For example, a generation that puts their lives on Facebook doesn’t really care if some facility in Utah collects lists of who called whom.
Bradley/Chelsea Mannings situation is more nuanced and I hate how badly he was treated. On the other hand, leaking government classified info is not OK. Period.
I am interested in hearing other TOD’s thoughts on these issues.
I’ve avoided that show, precisely because I know I can’t live by the rules you set for yourself going in. I’d end up throwing my TV out of the house… I’m appreciative of the summary, and I agree with you that these fools aren’t interested in anything but making a name for themselves.
Good evening Nerdy, Chip & TOD! Happy Wednesday everyone. :) Thanks for allowing to me be able to catch up on this wonderful assortment of O-care news, and happenings around the country and world!

DeBlasio’s agenda sounds very familiar….strikingly like the agenda of the man in the WH….but we won’t tell anyone….no one needs to know…
on another note….i am waiting for one of the the DNC to address voter suppression and to make the the fight against voter suppression part of their agenda
My opinion based on no facts whatsoever is that Bill de Blasio will be backing up Biden.
Facts regarding de Blasio as Mayor are astonishing. First NYC Mayor Ever to stand with tenants.
Bill announced a 250 million grant to troubled schools this week and his wife—yes, Chirlane , held a conference to announce another very Progressive iniitative yesterday. This family is on fire.
I’m beginning to agree with you, Vicki. As Joe did, Bill may run for President so he’ll gain that experience … for instance, i f Joe does run and selects Bill for his VP choice, he’d be able to handle the campaign for the general. Time will tell and fingers crossed.
This is good news, Vicki. I’d hoped the disgraceful treatment of deBlasio by establishment Dems wouldn’t discourage him. And you’re right, he does remind me of PBO.
So excited to welcome our awesome President to Portland. May have more to share tomorrow…
The way Key and Peele continue to tackle racism is just brilliant.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. The realness is so on point.

#YouKnowMeChipsWhenIGetAGoodThingGoingIWillSuckTheLifeOutOfIt
Thanks for working your way through ’em! Just amusing myself.
That took me FOREVER!!!!
It was all the caps, JO’B, that made the reading hard!! I understand hashtags are all lower case, the eye doesn’t have to sort and work so hard!! <3 (PS - you have nailed every one!) (if indeed it was you, and not herself) (#eversotiredofhillaryandbjbillo)
:D :D :D :D :D
Well done Jacqueline!!!
Thanks - I was on a roll, needless to say.
Standing O!!
You nailed it, JOB.
Ha.
Storms are still coming here in OK….although not nearly as bad as feared. However…..I just looked out my front door, and to the northeast I saw a RAINBOW!!! A double rainbow…….how wonderful to see!!!
A double rainbow! How lucky is that !
As we used to say in Florida when I lived there, Hunker Down!
Okay so now I’ve gotta post this classic! I still wanna know what this dude was on! :-)
OMG Dudette, that sounds exactly like the video I took of PBO flying over my garden!!! It was just one long hyperventilation!
LOL! I can imagine! I’d do the same thing! :-D
Anyway, that double rainbow went viral and few yrs ago and turned into a meme. Of course someone put it to music. There are a bunch of versions out there. Here’s one!
Dude’s seriously having a religious experience. How cool would have been to have a busload of actors in full-on Star Trek or Star Wars alien garb show up at his door that very moment? :-D
Am I the only one who’s just hearing about the #PhillipWhite case? How did this escape national attention (or I just wasn’t paying attention?).
Only saw it today Jacqueline, the horrors never end, what the hell is going on?
No idea. If some of us feel we “can’t take much more,” how do their individual families feel? Tragic. And the sad part is that we’re just hearing about these killings that have been going on forever, strictly due to social media and the fact there are more “citizen reporters.”
Of course, that’s what happened back in the ’60s - when most families around the country were getting black and white TVs in their homes and finally had their eyes opened up to what was happening in the south, after seeing reports on the 6 o’clock news.
Is it just me or did anyone else read this tweet…
… and instantly think of this as quite possibly the perfect theme song for Hillary’s campaign! :-D
 That’s the PERFECT campaign tune!
My humble thanks, Great One! :-D
This is one of my nightly TOD favorites, Nerdy. I can’t imagine all of the time and effort you put into these, but am grateful for the fact that you do this for us. Thank you.
My second mom passed away today, she was my mom’s best friend for 60 years, a hard hard day for my mother. RIP Arlene Nelson, earth is a little bit sadder today, heaven is a bit more joyful~
Oh {{{{{{sherijr}}}}}}, so so so sorry for you and your Mom’s loss, a 60-year friendship is an amazing thing. May Arlene rest in peace, and have a whole bunch of fun in heaven. Hugs to you and your Mom.
thank you (((((((Chips))))))). hugs back to you. Yes, they’ve been close through so many things in their lives, they’ve had a truly amazing friendship. I am so glad that my mom is in excellent health, or I would be very worried for her. Her last brother died last year, but she weathers it all, somehow. Again, thank you.
sherijr - So sorry to hear this. I fully believe (and like to picture) that my mother is there to greet the newcomers with cake and ice cream, so I’m sure your mom’s best friend will have a hearty welcome.
Oh Arlene would appreciate that- cake and ice cream, she was a baker for many years, so will be nice for her to be served :) :) ((((((JoB))))))) thank you.
I lived at home for the first 22 years of my life, and my mother served ice cream at 8 p.m., every night. Mostly to herself - Ha. She called it “bed lunch.” Of course, she’d add coffee and cake or cookies. She almost turned me totally off ice cream (except for chocolate), but she enjoyed it for another 30 years or so! So with Arlene’s cake and my mother’s ice cream, lots of joy for both of them. At least that’s my idea of heaven!
what a lovely memory for you Job of your mom, thank you for sharing that.. and I love your idea of heaven too :)
Funny how our moms go from jailer (teen years) to best friend (adulthood), isn’t it??!! :)
yes, it is.. I’m experiencing that now with my 15 yr old (jailer mom) and my 34 yr old (best friend mom). So prefer ‘best friend’ mom. :)
Ha! Of course, our “kids” never really grow up. Mine’s 46. Told his temporarily exasperated daughter one day about her 4-y/o son: You got this; only 14 more years to go. Later, I told her the truth: Only 42 more years to go (and counting). But, nevertheless, I try to be my adult son’s best friend - and he truly is mine!
yes it is so much nicer being friends with them.
Heartfelt condolences to you and your mother, sherijr. I hope memories of Arlene will continue bring warmth and love to your family.
Thank you meta, she will always be missed. She was one of those truly good and loving human beings.
I’m so sorry, Sherijr. It’s so hard to lose a lifelong friend and someone that was so close and dear to you. Hugs and love to your mom and to you.
Thank you (((((Jackie)))) and hugs back to you.
So sorry for your mom’s and your loss. Friendships like that are hard to come by if at all, so the loss is that much worse. May the wonderful memories you have outweigh the loss over time.
thank you Betsy~
Sheri, so sorry for your loss. Hold your Mom close and comfort her; it must be is so hard to loose someone that was so long in her life. Prayers for all of you.
Yes, I think her heart is quite broken tonight, she’s in CA & I’m in Baltimore.. but my sister gave her a hug for me. thank you, Alycee.
{{{{{ sherijr }}}}} <3
thank you (((MP))) hugs back to you.
Thank you, sherijr. Sending you and your mom comfort and hoping that Arlene rests in peace. A 60 year friendship is a wonderful one indeed.
Thank you Nerdy, I will pass all this on to Mom.
{{Sherijr & mom}} so sorry about the loss of your mom’s best friend of 60yrs. May she RIP.
(((sjterrid))) thank you
She’s done so much to improve relation with Indian Country. BRAVA!!
I just love her, and the Secretaries of Energy and Labor and …
That guy Obama sure can pick ’em!
Hey, here’s a novel idea: maybe that Obama guy should run for President?
Can he get a third term? :) I’d vote often and early for him, if he could!
“That guy Obama sure can pick ’em!”
Yes indeed, J’OB! Beginning with his pick of Joe Biden for VP, President Obama has picked the best and the brightest to serve in his administrations. President Obama’s nominees, including the two brilliant ladies he nominated to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, are absolutely the best nominees in history.
Not even peak wingnuttery:
Oh no, let me go hide my lawn ornaments. Quick!!!! See you guys later.
HHhaaaahahaaa! Hurry!
Poor you bella! People like me who own no guns or lawns have absolutely nothing to fear from President Obama. To be honest, I am disappointed with President Obama. I was hopping that by now he would have confiscated the guns of right wing terrorists; and he would also have put Wayne LaPierre, Michelle Bachman, Steven King, Donald Trump, Lis Cheney, Ted Cruz, Mitch McConnell, Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Ben Carson, Ted Nugent, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Jon Karl, and Chuck Todd, in the FEMA re-education/indoctrination camps that Bachman said he planned to set up. I would have included Dick Cheney, but I don’t think his mechanical heart could withstand an indoctrination camp.
AS IF
And rush to get their slimy hands on his email lists…
Indeed, hopefruit! I’ve been busy unsubscribing from Democrats who send me e-mails attacking President Obama’s TPP trade negotiations. By the way, that includes, St. Elizabeth Warren and her supporters. I refuse to contribute a penny to any Democratic candidate who is busy bashing President Obama, or refuses to support the President’s policies. Enough is enough!
Hypocrites!
uncomfortable question
Aren’t chicago, baltimore, nyc etc run by dem admins? Then why so much police brutality under their watch?
I think a large part of this answer lies in the fact that local governments are run by Republicans. Remember, their strategy is to embed themselves in the school councils, mayoral offices, etc. so that they control the local governments where a lot of the real governing happens that affect daily lives.
at least the goopers have candies for the primaries while the dems have done a preemptive surrender.
USDA 95% of schools are now providing healthier meals for their students. Oh and we know the right wing haters are pissed about that. They rather their kids be fat and obese with diease then to listen to one of those Obamas.
That’s disease.
:)
Good morning amk!!
Good Morning, Bob.
4th Quarter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The President and his administration never quit. They make the rest of us look like buffoons!
HELP! In moderation…
Washington, 2013 (Foggy Seattle). Pete Souza
Reporting in from Tornado alley…..some serious damage not too many miles from us…..the tornadoes have all been south and east of us…..some people have lost homes……cars have been turned over…..roofs have been lost…..flash floods, and people keep driving in to water…….we’re having pelting rain…..but no hail, no high winds in our area. We are fortunate. Many cars turned over in the affected areas.
So…..a very ordinary Oklahoma May night……watching the local TV weather people to keep up to date……so I have my laptop on my lap and a book to alternate…….
Keep giving us reports when you can, please. Glad you’re safe.
STAY SAFE, carolyn.

BRAVO (and #BuckItKochs)
Dorian Johnson was arrested. CNN says they have no other details. He was the young man who was walking with Michael Brown in Ferguson, when he was killed. Anybody see a freakin’ pattern here, for so many of the witnesses?
:)
New post.

Alberta witnessed a political earthquake last night.
The major oil producing province in Canada, it has been the country’s major economic engine for several years.
However, the precipitous drop in the price of oil created a $7bn hole in the province’s finances.
Prentice decided to base his campaign on a budget that increased taxes/fees (except for corporations), slightly cut government spending and ran a $5bn deficit.
However, this budget angered many Albertans and they responded by electing Notley who campaigned on a very different vision.
