I heard one of the “news” people say that the Saudi Prince is snubbing PBO because he just does not have the experience of other Presidents (I guess they gave GWB a pass since they slipped him the tongue and held hands). Most of them are in their 80’s and 90’s and the NPR guy assumed that they could not relate to such a young in-experienced President. PBO doesn’t take their bullshit nor hold hands and kiss them too.

My understanding is the the man is very elderly and does not want to make such a long trip. Other important ranking people in the family are coming. there is no snub.

It’s obvious in that first picture POB is thinking: “Get you sh*t together. FIX YOUR SOCIETY.” NO religious or ethnic bias. Just catch a clue about human rights.

Robert Sumwalt of the NTSB told reporters a speed control system in place along parts of that route along Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor was not yet in place on that section.

“We feel that had such a system been installed in this section of track, this accident would not have occurred,” he said.

    ///

As emergency crews continued to dig through the wreckage, lawmakers in Washington debated the future of Amtrak’s budget, with one spending committee voting to slash their funding by almost a fifth.

“We are divesting from America,” accused one member of Congress.

“Don’t use this tragedy in that way,” another Congressman responded angrily.

    Amazing.

School kids murdered. “Don’t use this tragedy in that way”.

Police murder unarmed.”Don’t use this tragedy in that way”.

It’s infuriating - and these people were voted in by Americans to safeguard the use of their tax dollars. What is really infuriating is that most Americans don’t even know that the vultures in Congress spend their days doing things that actually harm Americans, and they save their kindness and generosity for the fat cats on Wall Street and in Corporate America. If only people/voters were more engaged.

I have no more anything to give to white folks around this issue .the police held the body of Tamir Rice for 6 mos, dragging their feet on the investigation. They then charged his family fees to hold his body. I just want to scream

“After recently making a trip to Nike headquarters, President Barack Obama is now the proud owner of presidential Jordan sneakers. President Obama received a pair of customized Jordan 11Lab4 shoes, complete with the presidential seal on the tongue of the shoes. The shoes were packaged in a sweet customized box rather than the typical Nike box.”

The right wing racists jackasses seem to be having a darn fit about FLOTUS speech at Tuskegee U. last Saturday. Wonder why? Could it be that she stepped on some of those racists right wing lying toes. She spoke the truth, something those racists lying right wing radio folks and those lying racists bastards at Fox knows nothing about.

I have a friend who worked as a psychiatrist for several years for Aramamco in Saudi Arabia. His luggage was always searched and any religious objects, like a cross or a bible were against the law. You can be immediately and indefinitely imprisoned in Saudi Arabia for possessing such things. He had a Christian Contemplative meditation group that met in secret and under fear of punishment.

Ah yes, Bill, I’ve heard of folk with similar experiences.

We truly messed up badly back in the late 40s and 50s and then continued to do so, in the ME, South Asia, etc. Should have stuck to building a sustainable democracy in America instead of screwing with others attempts to build theirs.

Increasingly, I’m convinced that two women are the answer to how we sustain and expand HOPE.

While neither of them are likely to ever compete for public office, my HOPE is that they both support, to the fullest extent of their enormous capacity and credibility, VP Biden as our next President.

now I must depart …. lots of work and only a couple of hours sleep ahead before another intense day ….

    Yes We Can
