It’s horrible that it comes at such painful and extreme cost, but these ugly racial episodes have put the spotlight where it needs to be and when.
How much longer would the cesspool that was the Ferguson Police Department have operated in terrorizing the black citizens of that community if not for the exposure brought about by Mike Brown’s murder?
When the murders of Tamir Rice and Eric Garner, among a number of others, were being held up as examples of pervasive police brutality against boys and men of color, the luck of a witness in the right place at the right time caught the murdering cop who tried to frame Walter Scott after shooting him in the back, making denial and defense impossible.
When the McKinney thug cop was exposed by having his words and actions recorded and subsequently resigned, it brought an ‘educator’s racism out for all to see - now she’s no longer there to inflict her prejudice on students whose race she hates and fears.
And now, hard as his fellow confederates and the sympathetic MSM might try to negate, a racist terrorist has given us a written manifesto of the foundation of his twisted views (sounding very familiar to the McKinney teacher) and murderous intent, making denial of what he’s done look crazy, and finally causing the groundswell that may get the Confederate flag removed from the SC statehouse. As a bonus, the Conservative Citizens Council was called out as a catalyst, and the GOP is twisting and turning itself in knots as it tries to pander to the racist foundation of the party.
Would that these episodes come to an abrupt end. But short of that, the consequences have been much needed and far too long coming.
It is fair to say that most white people had been so acculturated to view black people as different from them that they did not perceive the existence of slavery in America as a problem, and when exposed to slaves, they barely noticed the pain that they experienced. These whites compartmentalized their lives and experiences, putting themselves and other whites into one sphere and enslaved people or even free black people into another. It did not even occur to them that emotions experienced in the white sphere could also be experienced by the enslaved people.
Having segregation and slavery enshrine into law…even the so-called founding fathers either had slaves or gave into slavery to get an agreement done….so this debasement of people of color is interwoven into the very fabric of America…this is why these issues continue..because the GOP… RW entertainment complex and their ilk could not stoke these flames if it was not there in the beginning…

In 1988, Tom and John Metzger sent their best White Aryan Resistance (WAR) recruiter to organize a Portland skinhead gang. After being trained in WAR’s methods, the gang killed an Ethiopian student. Tom Metzger praised the skinheads for doing their “civic duty.”
