INTEGRITY AND GRACE…SELLFLESS INTEREST IN OTHERS…A DESIRE TO INVEST IN THE FUTURE OF OUR CHILDREN…AND THEN THERE IS THE TRUMP…AND HIS CHOPPER RIDE…I THINK HE’S THE LAST TRUMPET…AKA WH CONTROL FOR DUMMIES!
We had better fix this animus that’s growing with social active Dems.
“Appearing with Chuck Todd on Meet The Press, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I) corrected the host when he quoted from article in Buzzfeed saying the Vermont senator had apologized to Black Lives Matter, telling Todd the apology came from a staffer and that it “was sent out without my knowledge.”
As I just stated on Facebook, I’m sensing a real racial divide that’s starting to manifest itself within the Democratic Party. Progressives/Liberal/Dems may want to tread lightly. I’d hate to see us blow up this Presidential election because people are so passionate about their candidate (s) that they lose sight of the real racial injustice that is taking place in this country. President Obama has been heckled, protested and shouted down more times than I care to count and although I didn’t like it when it happened to him I was sympathetic to the message that the protester was trying to convey. Just something to think about as we make our decision about who we want to lead this Party to victory in 2016.
I’m not so sure Donna. Sanders and his supporters really represent a small percentage so I don’t really see the racial divide being much of a problem. The overwhelming majority of Dems love PBO and are going to work like crazy to make sure a Dem wins in 2016. Sanders by that time will be a distant memory imo.
It is a divide that Sanders and his supporters are intentionally creating. They think that if the Democratic party abandons civil rights issues it will be able to attract the working class whites who left the party in protest of the civil rights victories of the 1960’s. This is why Sanders cannot be seen to be apologizing to the BLM movement because that would piss off the white voters he covets. I don’t think very many of the Sanders supporters voted for PBO (or anyone else). These appear to be folks who became politically aware during the Age of Obama, but never embraced his presidency. In Sanders they have a candidate they can embrace, so long as he sticks to THEIR issues.
First, (and leaving aside the fact that he feels the need not to apologize to Black Lives Matter), if his staffers are going around saying things he doesn’t want them to say, he’d better get that fixed before the campaign goes much further. The staffer probably wanted to mitigate the damage done by Sander’s immediate response to the disruption. Also maybe that staffer will be a little disenchanted with Sanders after this.
Second, I’ve finally identified what Sanders, and to an eve greater extent his followers, remind me of: the Occupy movement. There’s the same grandiose, sweeping ideas, the same disdain for who have any other issues besides their own, disdain for any form of compromise, and a lack of political intelligence on how to successfully move the agenda forward, even if it is one step at a time.
I agree with Eric that he is trying to win back voters that left us in the 60s because those are the people he knows and the issues he knows- basically it seems he wants the labor movement first half of the 20th century.
Donna, I share your concerns and hope that in honor of President Obama and to continue his legacy, we will come together to support the Democratic nominee for President and do more than just vote. I can’t imagine feeling as passionate about any other candidate as I did about Barack Obama, but the bottom line is holding the White House and changing the Supreme Court. Re-taking Congress would require a huge wave of voters from the big tent of Democrats as well as independents. Let the GOP lose by in-fighting. We can’t afford to do that because people’s lives are at stake.
I go along with that Judith. This the funny season right now. I think after schools are in and the State Fairs are done and the primaries start it will be a whole new ball game. Bernie’s people are wondering why there are no Dem’s endorsing him. I told them, he is not in the Democratic Party, he is an Independent Socialist and in the Socialist party. Why Wasserman Schultz even puts him in with the Dems is a head shaker for me. I keep repeating Sanders is a Socialist not a registered Dem. in reply to anyone on Twitter that makes it sound like he is part of our party.
MY CURRENT HOMEOWNER IS JUST THAT…DOESN’T WANNT TO SPEND TO FIX THINGS BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO KEEP HER LIIFESTYLE…CAN’T WAIT TO LEAVE HERE…WHAT GOES AROUND…COMES AROUND…SHE SHALL REAP WHAT SHE HAS SOWN!
I watched a good game yesterday PGA in WI.The winner was an Austrialian, Jason Day, final score -20. Beat a few records and Jason Speith is number #1 in the PGA tour now taking over from Tiger. Excellent golf. I love to watch, I don’t play.
I WOULDN’T MIND HIM GOLFING…HE’S HAPPY…I JUST WISH HE WOULD PUT SOME MORE MEAT ON HIS BONES!!!! TRY A FEW BURGERS AND A NICE BIG STEAK MR. ENERGIZER….UP THE ANTE ON THE SCALE A LITTLE BIT…GEESH! SOMEBODY PASS THE PICKLES AND MUSTARD!…AND SOME PIE…I KNOW HE WON’T TURN THAT DOWN!
I’D HAVE TO BE ABLE TO HIIT THE BALL FIRST…LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL..AND I HAVE DRIVEN A GOLF CART…ALMOST KILLED SOMEBODY!!!!…LUCY HERE…AN ACCIDENT LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO HAPPEN.
I don’t like golf either, but two sports POTUS and I have in common is I like football and basketball, baseball is okay. That’s NFL football. I used to love the Chicago Bulls, that was doing Michael Jordon time i Chicago. POTUS like the Bears and I”m a Cowboys fan. But I would like to see Tiger Woods win another tournament or two before he retire.
Fugelsang has a gift for pointing out the insanity and hypocrisy of the GOP in a funny but dead on manner. I admire his ability to cut through the bullshyte.
The republicans have been in complete shambles since 2008. They look in even more disrepair than they did the last national cycles from Huckabee saying that a 10 year old girl should be forced to have the baby to Trump attacking all the republicans.
I’m sure this witch Dowd defended Trump when he was talking about POTUS not being born in this country, and when Trump was talking about Mexicans being rapists and killers.
In other Not happening news—-
Since Sherrod Brown announced his Yes vote on Friday night, it is all too quiet on the vote for the Iran Deal. Dems must be getting little thrills from thinking they are screwing PBO and his supporters. I am distressed but I bet PBO is entirely unruffled. I’d also bet that POTUS knows exactly how this story will end.
And we didn’t even start to open our Obama galleries! One day tho, eh, JF?? It was so lovely to meet JF and family, share a cup of tea and some time. I’ll get onto Murray and Cantwell right now, I was so sure those two would never drag their feet. Time to light a fire under them, after supporting them both for years.
It’s baffling even to his staff and supporters, but they told me he wants to read the entire Iran Deal himself, speak to as many experts as possible in addition to the ones from the Obama Administration who briefed Congress, hear from stakeholders, and make his statement based on having done a thorough investigation. He got an earful yesterday at the fundraiser from J Street and multiple supporters who see no reason for delay. Keep writing, calling, tweeting, and attend a town hall if you can find one.
These devils are transparent in the targets they choose. Roots struck a blow against the myth of white innocence that is essential to the maintenance of the doctrine of white supremacy. It is viewed as outrageous to tell the truth about chattel slavery in this country. BTW these devils don’t respect Black folks’ lives, so no surprise they don’t respect our dead.
That’s probably why the meeting with him was arranged at that time - they (and her) probably knew the end was near. A long and amazing life indeed. May she RIP.
The people who are running to Donald Trump is doing so because they are angry, they are angry because for the last six and a half years the United States of America have had a black man as President. Am I saying Trump supporters are racists? Yes I am. How the hell are you going to support someone who is talking about building a fence on the border and making Mexico pay for it? Kicking over 11 million people out of this country. You are not guided by common sense, you are guided by your racism.
Because I’ve been having a fruitless discussion with someone in another forum, I’m going to post this here. The discussion was about the ‘rudeness’ of the BLM protesters toward B.Sanders. They were ‘rude’, ‘insensitive’, ‘hurting their own cause’. They noted how much more polite Dr King and his supporters had been; they had been involved in ‘direct action’, not ‘protests’. And by direct action they meant, for instance, Rosa Parks claiming her right to retain her bus seat which had been denied to her. Or the Greensboro sit-in where young people claimed their right to sit at a public lunch counter through the direct action of sitting there, a right that had been denied to them. White privilege at its finest. Another participant did ask what the ‘direct action’ would be when denied the right to live by a police bullet, refuse to die? Another brought up the March on Washington, which was certainly a ‘protest’. My goal in engaging in this was as always, not aimed at the pig-headed person who staked out the original position, but to get out some facts that other following might see and consider. I found this interesting article which speaks directly to the argument about politeness. It has the video and the transcript of Dr. King being interviewed about the tactics of the sit-ins.

Man, he’s gonna be even bigger as a private citizen than President.
Good Afternoon TOD. Thank you NW you legend you!

I agree Eric.
keep on telling the truth, Eric.

You said it well, Judith.
All of this!
I go along with that Judith. This the funny season right now. I think after schools are in and the State Fairs are done and the primaries start it will be a whole new ball game. They don’t realize that the Dems if they want to could keep Sanders shut out from participating.
Wish I could retweet. 😔
Did it for you CarlMaeWY.
Thank you. 😊

I hate golf, but if I got to golf with the prez it would be my new favorite thing to do!
I watched a good game yesterday PGA in WI.The winner was an Austrialian, Jason Day, final score -20. Beat a few records and Jason Speith is number #1 in the PGA tour now taking over from Tiger. Excellent golf. I love to watch, I don’t play.

Now that might get me to watch golf if Woods was about to win. But I’m glad POTUS enjoy playing golf, if it helps him relax and clear his mind.
Hello TOD.
Monday…..Sunny. Cooler. Nicer.
Wonderful R&S, NW. Thank you.
Congrats to the Au⭐ winners, starting with this post and 2 posts back.
Fugelsang has a gift for pointing out the insanity and hypocrisy of the GOP in a funny but dead on manner. I admire his ability to cut through the bullshyte.
One of the Trumpaloozza is intriguing to me……this KOCHroach puppet is now attacking Sen McConnell.
I am ‘hopelessly’ giddy and hopefully wishing for a a repeat of Dem chaos in 1968, 1972, 1980 bickering to visit the GOPers in 2016.
The republicans have been in complete shambles since 2008. They look in even more disrepair than they did the last national cycles from Huckabee saying that a 10 year old girl should be forced to have the baby to Trump attacking all the republicans.
Keep talking fool.
🙄
🙄
Trump calls for the same thing.
Tracy Morgan, Good Luck and WTG.
Thanks 57!
Can someone post this? Nutballs.

GAH, could he be more moronic? Rates right up there with Couric’s, what do you read?
Unbelievable.
And America hangs on his every word.
My thoughts exactly about Palin’s I read everything answer. I posted the thought earlier, but must have gone off line before it got posted.
Chuck Todd looks SCRAWNY.
Hatred, envy, and racism will do that to a person … eat you up, from the inside.
Hey, just a guess!
#KeepinItLight
WOW, livin’ in the city!!
He did one in DC this morning, and Philly, this afternoon!
So so so cool!
He had one in DC this morning but I didn’t get word of it until last night.😦😡😦
OH, NO! That would have been so much fun……
Awwww!
Gazelle, Is this Malia Obama facebook page?
I understand it is someone who love Malia Obama but it is NOT Malia Obama
Thank you.
This woman goes after Pres Obama, the Clintons, but she is defending Trump, yet again?
I say, too much Botox?
I’m sure this witch Dowd defended Trump when he was talking about POTUS not being born in this country, and when Trump was talking about Mexicans being rapists and killers.

We need to move Merkley, Murray, Cantwell, and Coons before I will feel relaxed about the Iran Deal vote.
This weekend, Mighty Pamela and I were able to meet up in Seattle and share affection for all things Obama!
Trying to upload the image
You two are freakin’ adorable! Wish I could have been there…….
If you are ever in Seattle or Portland, let us know in advance so we can welcome you with open arms!
Sweet! So happy you got together!
Hear hear!
All done. Let them both know exactly what I am thinking about their silence. We shall see.
Sweet TOD meet-ups!
I’m so jealous!
What is wrong with Merkley? Why is he holding out?
It’s baffling even to his staff and supporters, but they told me he wants to read the entire Iran Deal himself, speak to as many experts as possible in addition to the ones from the Obama Administration who briefed Congress, hear from stakeholders, and make his statement based on having done a thorough investigation. Hey Haters, the woman is dead.
We are all taught to RESPECT the dead. Sheesh.

Y’all are so many days ahead of MP, but have you seen this: Holy you-know-what!!
Knock on Wood!
So sad…..this photo was just a month ago…..
So glad she and POTUS got to meet before she passed. What a way to end such a long and amazing life!
That’s probably why the meeting with him was arranged at that time - they (and her) probably knew the end was near. A long and amazing life indeed. May she RIP.
Cannot imagine a more brilliant experience to close the book with! Bless her, Bless PBO. _/|\_

hmmmm so far about 300 of Hillary’s email may need to be marked classified now ?
What about the 22 million that disappeared under Bush.? What about their private e-mail account ?

Mark Halperin is saying Scott Walker had a pretty good day at the fair.
I guess getting booed and heckled is ” pretty good ” in his mind.
Yes, and maybe he meant not quite as good as Mark’s new friend Donald. Ugh.
2012 Halperin friend were Mitt Romney.
I can’t think of one person who gives a dam what Mark Halperin thinks.
To think that the Bloomberg TV is paying this idiot $1M annually tells We the People the despicable state of US Journalism today.

“quintessentially American life”…….just really beautiful.
One question, how many nuclear weapons do Israel have?
Conservative estimate is 70, bella. Plus, they have multiple nuke-capable delivery platforms.
