I am glad the pope didn’t pull any punches despite knowing that the most of the congress critters are hostile to him amnd hate his guts.

Hope our donna had a front seat today.

    Gunnite folks.

Where Francis has departed from his predecessors is that he has moved from talking the talk to walking the walk. The simplicity of his lifestyle, his emphasis on spending time among the poor and giving workers more control of economies where the deck, as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has said, is stacked against them, are all radical departures from past papal practice. So, too, is the tolerance he has shown to gays, lesbians and divorcees — a tolerance that has roused the ire of church conservatives, for whom intolerance to these and kindred groups seems to express the essence of their Catholicism.

I get it. Just gives me the shivers - this use of incendiary language in the media. We’ve seen this kind of stuff around PBO and see how all the nutballs come out the word work, thinking of the President as a threat. Now we see RWNJs acting like the Pope is some menace, because he’s actually reminding Christians to be more Christ-like.

          WaPo can do better.

With my own Catholic background I can appreciate that Pope Francis’ invocation of Dorothy Day and Thomas Merton as American models of spiritual and moral maturity in inner and outer life are a rejection of the brand of conservative Catholic culture that has grown up in parts of the US. Conservative Catholics consider Dorothy Day an aberrant communist and Thomas Merton a heretic.

I’m wondering if anyone really believes polling anymore as they lose a lot of credibility for making the ridiculous claim that Carson is ahead by 7 against Hillary. Utter nonsense, it’s quanipiac though so what do you expect?

And I’m sure Pope Francis would forgive her.

A woman standing behind Pope Francis before he entered the House Chamber was caught on a live mic saying she wanted to “take my shoe off and throw it.?

Dudette…i believe that we will always have to fight and then defend the rights that are won…those forces that would enslave us never give up…never take a defeat as the end…so too must we know that a victory is not the end of the struggle…but just a continuation…i believe that is why it is ever so important to train others to march in our footsteps….just as OFA has a continual call for new organizers….

US media can hyperventilate about issues of the day. Now i hear them breathlessly reporting : ” in a direct reversal of policy, PBO will talk to putin on the UN sidelines”. I don’t remember PBO ever saying that he would NEVER talk to putin again

Governor Scott Walker supports bill to reshape state hiring process

Posted 12:19 pm, September 24, 2015, by AP Wire Service

MADISON — Gov. Scott Walker is telling Republican state Assembly members that he supports a plan making it easier to fire state workers as part of a rewrite of the law governing the hiring and firing process.

Walker spoke about the plan during a 15-minute speech to Assembly Republicans on Thursday.

Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke and Sen. Roger Roth are preparing a bill that would eliminate exams for prospective state workers, shift hiring authority from state agencies to the Department of Administration and define “just cause? for terminations
