Wow, amk. No one has yet said congrats on furst. So let me say Congrats! And thanks for all the great cartoons, tweets and funny photos you post. These days I’m looking for laughs any place I can get them, and I know I will always find some at TOD thanks to you.

That’s happened when my adult son calls out “Mom” in a store, when we’re together (well, I hope it’s only when I’m with him - Ha!) … every Mom in the zip code looks up. So, now he calls, “Jackie!” Makes me laugh every time.

He said he was going to dispense with the tie more often. I hope so.

I see Ms NerdyW is on a roll - thank you kindly, my lady. I can make quick run-ins and get a quick idea of what’s ongoing.

Now that I’ve rediscovered online Scrabble, my poor eyes have been doing triple duty. It’s been years since I’ve had a chance to play so I’m making the most of my ‘new’ discovery.

What a wedding picture? I am sure when you walk into their home that picture they took with POTUS will be the first to be seen.

Just saw DWS on Don Lemon’s show on CNN, from Las Vegas. Even her neck was red, being asked about the infighting. I’m so damn disappointed with her. Why does she think she speaks for all Democrats? She doesn’t speak for me.

Speaking of San Diego, just watched the end of the San Diego/Pittsburgh Monday Night Football game. What an ending! San Diego moves ahead by three with two minutes left. Michael Vick marches the team down the field and with the ball on the one foot line and five seconds left, the coach Mike Tomlin, says to himself ‘let’s forget the field goal tie and win this thing in regular time.’ So he calls a wildcat play with LeVeon Bell running it in,the ball barely crossing the goal as time runs out. Kudos for courage to Mike Tomlin and to a great performance by Michael Vick, LeVeon Bell, and the rest of the Steeler team.

At this stage, talk is cheap! The first test to prove that Bernie can win in a red state will be the February, 2016, SC primary.

I seem to have a vague recollection of people being hopeful before this Tulsi person was elected/chosen - she was Dem and 1st female something or other if I remember correctly. What I’m hearing of her behaviour once in office demonstrates for me one example why I’m not always gung-ho when people start talking about wanting a woman this or that. IMO people ought to be chosen by the content of their character AND their performances, values, and ideas. It’s why I get irritable when I hear people say it’s time for a female U.S president. It’s time for another president of character, purpose and a sincere heart for the people - whatever his/her sex. When a woman comes along who fills these requirements, THEN it’ll be time for a female prezzy!

You are so right, vc, and Tulsi is an excellent example. She talked a good line, and the addition of a Dem female vet to the House seemed like a great idea. But she started ‘showing her independence’ from PBO very quickly. I wrote to her numerous times, and countered her emails with specifics. No reply from her office. Senator Schultz, who many people felt wasn’t representative of Hawaii, has consistently supported and promoted President Obama’s initiatives, which tells me all I need to know about who I’ll work to re-elect.

This truly seems like a way around term limits to me. They have issues if he can’t be 100% in the campaign - and it seems it would cause problems if he was 100% in the campaign.

I was so late back today

NW - as usual tweets that give the whole story - and more

Ms Chips - glad to hear the news on Danny - keeping him quiet for 6 weeks sounds rather like trying to keep the grandbabe in check when she was ill - like NO chance.

At Krueger National Park, South Africa. Rangers here say the “documents” for the “hunt” of Cecil the lion by the Minneapolis dentist were bogus, that the so-called hunt was “target practice” rather than a legitimate hunt. They gave an interesting talk about the differences. They found it all quite disgusting but said everyone involved is now covering their own butts and nothing will change.
