Thanks for the pics, NerdyW. I’m guessing I didn’t miss too much in terms of events today so I don’t feel too badly.

FTR, I’ve picked up my voting paraphernalia - after having to count my share of ballots and make sure the numbers in each booklet were in sequence. Honestly all the checks and balances I’ve already been exposed to have been reassuring to me as a voter. Now *all* I have to do is go over my training booklet on the weekend, get to the polling station no later than an hour before opening to set up my station and meet my assigned poll clerk, and be away from the TOD village for at least 14 hours! I can’t wait! :/

VC, did you volunteer to be a voting precinct captain?

        October 16, 2025 at 10:21 pm

No. I got talked into this by a friend who said they needed extra bodies. :( Also, we don’t have precinct captains; I’m just a lowly Deputy Returning Officer - an experience I can already see myself *not* repeating.

GG, Are you sure Trump did not ask Carson to call him “Masa”? In the pic above, Trump looks like he is saying to Carson: “you are a good boy Bennie! You are not like that socialist, tyrant, muslim, Kenyan interloper, now currently occupying our sacred White House.”

A debate without Trump might just be about the issues that should be debated - RW media fail - again

In this instance, Donald Trump is absolutely spot-on!

Is there ANYTHING the GOP media will not blame on “Obama” - seems it’s all his fault that the GOP is fielding a major set of RWNJs in the Presidential primary. smh - and again - smh - no link - they should not be read.

Actually - that was quite a post from Noonan - she is vying with Kristol for the person who most often gets everything wrong.

It must be really hard to make yourself [Noonan] relevant after the expiration date. Her time has come and gone. Who listens to this old fart anymore?

Poor Peggy Noonan! She probably knows nothing about the political history of the great Abraham Lincoln, who, like President Obama. was an Illinois Legislator, and who only served one term (two years) in Congress as a member of the House of Representatives. Unlike Obama who resoundingly won the Illinois U.S. Senate seat, with about 70% of the votes, Abraham Lincoln, two years before he was elected President, had miserably lost the campaign to be Illinois’ U.S. Senator. Ironically, in 1860, Lincoln defeated Stephen Douglas for the Presidency, the same man who two years earlier, in 1858, had defeated him for the U.S. Senate in Illinois.

People like Peggy Noonan are blinded by white privilege when it comes to analyzing and interpreting history. It’s people like Noonan who perpetuate the myth that President Obama had no experience compared to all the white Presidents before him. Now lets look at the facts: President Obama had 12 years of experience in elective office before he became President. Compare that to Abraham Lincoln who had 10 years; FDR who had 8 years; Dwight Eisenhower who had “0” years; JFK who had 12 years; Jimmy Carter who had 4 years; the ” B movie actor,” Ronald Reagan, who had 8 years; George H.W. Bush who had 10 years; Bill Clinton who had 12 years; and, George W. Bush, who had 6 years. Moreover, no one questioned the legitimacy of Hillary Clinton who, in 2008, had served less than 8 years in elective office when she run for president. All the current candidates running for president, both Republicans and Democrats, (except for Lincoln Chafee and Martin O’Mally), have less experience in elective office than President Obama. Some like Trump, Carson, Fiorina, have ZERO experience!
