Look how humble our PBO is as evidenced about where he is sitting. He does not have to be the center of attention or sitting in the front on an elevated chair (as LBJ did) to prove he is in charge. He has that natural confidence and power that is quietly evident in the way that he comports himself. His position also says that he has Joe’s back. Our guys are all kinds of wonderful.

This is a BFD :-)
I’m so excited PBO has put VPB in charge of this. Knowing this administration and PBO, they would not set these ambitious goals if they didn’t think reaching them was possible. As VP said, “Listen, I’m not Bernie Sanders…..I’m not a populist. But I’m a realist.”
I lost my Dad and other family to cancer and quite a few of my friends are fighting or have recovered from it. I’m so grateful for the Cancer Moonshot.
So, when “curing cancer” gets added to saving the economy and auto industry, bringing justice to Bin Laden, providing affordable healthcare to millions and combating climate change, how will they spin “disappointment” then?

Where PBO has his chair positioned says a whole lot.
Wow, what a great man.
Let the haters hate. We know the real deal when we see it.

NICE!!!!!!
This photo tells such a powerful story of teamwork. Love our Obama-Biden team! Congrats, COS.
The photo, the comments - damn, I love you people.Tear in my eye. Thank you Nerdy.
We love you too Chipsticks (and also Danny) :-)
awesome tweet, chips!!
That was my very first thought. Where’s PBO? Oh yes, sitting back listening in, giving VPOTUS the spotlight. Humility, the essence of leadership. And Joe Biden is so comfortable with that. There has never been another team like this one.
Right back at ya, Chiparoooooooo!
Here is a macro view of how to gauge turnout #’s …. >130,000 the better for Trump (every 10,000 votes = %1) if it reaches 200,000 expect ~10pt win for him. For Hillary she needs it to be less than ~175,000 (130,000 she wins ~%5, 200k Bernie wins) also after O’Malley doesn’t reach the 15% threshold about 65% will go to Bernie. The last caveat, but maybe the most significant is that HRC is actually up 60-40 among only D caucus goers. Bernie gets ~65% of Independent vote in all D polls, but they could all be voting +70 in the GOP caucuses (If that is the case HRC will win by (6-8pts)
Hi TODers
Greetings from West Africa. Miss y’all.
You’ve been missed too zizi2! How’s it going?
Greetings, my Sis! West Africa! I’m jelly, jelly, jelly!
Because this is who he is. <3 :bear: <3 It has NEVER been about him, it is only the others who have tried to make it seem so.
Thanks for highlighting this Nerdy and thanks for including my comment above; I’m honored!
You’re welcome, MadameSoph.
Thanks for the wonderful comment. :)
Indeed. This pic speaks volumes. :)
:)
Nerdy, so kind of you to highlight our comments with this awesome photo.
You are welcome, CEB.
Thanks for the great comment. :)
I am happy PBO put VPB incharge of the Cancer Moonshot after Joe lost his son to cancer determining he would not run for the presidency. Joe needed this important mission to give his life purpose and PBO is not about needing to take credit or get acclaim on everything. Our compassionate President is about teamwork and working for us. We have been so lucky to have had PBO, his family, VPB, his wife and all of their administration working to improve our lives. We are blessed. My wish is we can have a President that follows him protecting and building upon his structural changes.
Real people trying to find real solutions for real people’s real problems. Best wishes, Uncle Joe and team.
HUGE turnout reported at several Dem precincts.
First entrance poll released, Hillary +7
they got entrance polls now? it’s getting redenculous.
Meaningless #’s for media to pontificate. Ron Paul won entrance polls last time….
Actual votes counted on Dem side:

No exit polls for Iowa Caucuses.
ut ohhhhh,,,CNN has been contradicted…
“needs fresh clothes…” Please! Are there no drycleaners or Laundromats in all of Iowa and New Hampshire? And if he couldn’t properly plan his wardrobe (or hire a capable assistant to do so), why would we trust him to handle matters of state…
[So OT, but might give relief to all those talking heads who’re just about everywhere just about now:]

One of the reasons I sometimes miss my old stomping grounds of San Francisco. This is so out there, made me smile & say to self, “What the heck do I know? Maybe they know something I don’t!” A Church formed around John Coltrane music. Alrighty now! :)
Good evening TOD. I was just listening to the Norman Goldman show and this lady called in said she was the head person in the Obama campaign in 2008 in the panhandle of Florida, the record turnout and the after election, they were abandoned. I turned it off then. I couldn’t listen anymore. I know there are many people out there who expected to be taken care of and didn’t push. Interesting how they are all complaining now.
Signing off to read for a bit and to avoid the TV foolishness. Will check on-line just before bed time to see who the winners are. I cannot stand the gloating, foolish, self-satisfied, ignorant voices and comments of the msm hacks. See you later TOD ohana.
Ha ha, when VP Biden was still a possibility I was mad that De Blasio came out so early for HRC, but tonight I’m happy to see him there :-)
WTF!
Jeebus! WTF indeed.
WTF does that even mean?
Misogynistic stoopid statement.
So I’m reading comments at LGF - and I don’t think these are snark
CNN - Early leaders in Democratic caucuses - Hillary Clinton & Bernie Sanders
FOX - Predict Martin O’Malley third

thanks
You know, in this instance I’ll be more interested in the dead results. ;)
How are you? I don’t get how you guys can follow the unfolding of all this, step by step, when the contenders are so lacklustre. They pain the soul.
2008 is not gonna happen again. for a loooong, loooong time.
I know. I know. It’s because I’ve known this that I made sure to immerse myself in the Age of Obama, and I’ve had NO regrets!
{{{ VC }}}
Greetings & happy wishes coming your way, Ms P.
News you can use…
Thanks for this info! Didn’t think about this one more thing I have to be paranoid about! :)
Thanks Alycee! From now on their going in the shred pile!
BTW, so exited I found a nearby place that shreds while you watch for $10 a box! This year I intend to finally clear out the boxes of stuff I’ve put off shredding for years :-)
Inorite! Glad I read this before my next trip; and will gather up all of the old ones I have scattered about the house in old handbags… Am also going to start shredding the baggage claim tags as they also contain barcoded info.
My municipality holds an annual shred day. Last October, I got rid of 20 boxes (personal and professional); I already have 6 boxes ready to go for next October…
When we were downsizing - we bought a shredder! took months to do it all (cheap shredders overheat if you use them more than 10-15 minutes at a time). Now we just shred it as we get it - cause the unit is so small - nowhere to store “stuff” :)
That’s what we do. We have a fairly good/strong/durable shredder.
I haven’t flown in a while but when u check in you get a boarding pass but i thought the airline staff took the boarding passes. I always had the bag receipt to show to pick up my bag. They must scan the info now and you keep the boarding passes now.
Subject: A CATHOLIC CHAUFFEUR

After getting all of Pope Francis’s luggage loaded into the limo at the airport, (and he doesn’t travel light), the driver notices the Pope is still standing on the curb.
‘Excuse me, Your Holiness,’ says the driver, ‘Would you please take your seat so we can leave?’
‘Well, to tell you the truth,’ says the Pope, ‘they never let me drive at the Vatican , and I’d really like to drive today.’
“I’m sorry, Your Holiness, but I cannot let you do that. I’d lose my job! What if something should happen?” protests the driver, wishing he’d never gone to work that morning.
‘Who’s going to tell?’ asks the Pope with a smile.
Reluctantly, the driver gets in the back as the Pope climbs in behind the wheel. The driver quickly regrets his decision when, after exiting the airport, the Pontiff floors it, accelerating the limo to 205 kms. (Remember, the Pope is Argentinian,)(and Fangio the famous racer was Argentinian.)
“Please slow down, Your Holiness,” pleads the worried driver, but the Pope keeps the pedal to the metal until they hear sirens.
“Oh, dear God, I’m going to lose my license — and my job!’, moans the driver.
The Pope pulls over and rolls down the window as the cop approaches; but the cop takes one look at him, goes back to his motorcycle, and gets on the radio.
‘I need to talk to the Chief,’ he says to the dispatcher.
The Chief gets on the radio and the cop tells him that he’s stopped a limo going 205 kph.
‘So bust him,’ says the Chief.
‘I don’t think we want to do that. He’s really important,’ said the cop.
The Chief exclaimed, ‘All the more reason!’
‘No, I mean really important,’ said the cop with a bit of persistence.
The Chief then asked, ‘Who do you have there, the mayor?’
Cop: ‘Bigger.’
Chief: ‘ A senator?’
Cop: ‘Bigger.’
Chief: ‘The President?’
Cop: ‘Bigger.’
‘Well,’ said the Chief, ‘who is it?’
Cop: ‘I think it’s God!’
The Chief is even more puzzled and curious, ‘What makes you think it’s God?
Cop: ‘His chauffeur is the Pope!
Cute. Thanks for the :-)!
:-) !
Tks. Things have been kinda intense ’round here.
I am still laughing, thanks yardarm 756!
You’re welcome.
Official Iowa results, here: https://www.idpcaucuses.com/#/state
4 top issues for IOWA caucus goers…1. economy/jobs…2….3. Income Equality…4. Terrorism…..those top of the concerns will change as the electorate becomes browner…
56% of Dem caucus goers want the next president to continue the work of BarackObama
That last line is MY top issue!
^5 all around da world!
Damn. What might have been…
Gotta go take a bath and eat dinner! Arghhh! I’ll have to unglue myself from this computer screen :-) BBL
NW, thank you very much for putting my words on the front page. {{{{{love U}}}}} <3
You’re welcome, GGail.
They were wise words indeed. :)
Yes, when i saw where PBO was seated in the Cancer Moonshot picture the comments said it all. Thank you Nerdy for featuring our very own who expressed how we all felt.
:D :D
Staying in his padded ‘hood.
by 18 points? I doubt it. I predict 5 to 6 points.
Last time I looked at results it was 52:48 - what am I missing?
now it’s about 2.5%. guess we will have to wait and see.
Folks further down the thread seem to think Hillary definitely going to win - maybe its the “not in” precincts?? I have NO idea - the GOP contenders are crazy - as seems to be the voting system.
So today a young guy at my office in Chicago told me he spent the weekend calling Iowa Dems for Clinton. I told him I was going with the Seltzer poll and thought Hillary would win by 5. He is soooo nervous about tonight and thought that since Iowa has so many young voters because of the 2008 election that Bernie might win. I told him there’s no way that most of those young voters are switching from Obama to Sanders.
OMG, this is a BEAT.DOWN.
Sup, Forus! Freaking Pacers/Cavs game is blacked out :(
Hey LP!! Got the Bulls/Jazz game on the tv machine. So here we are 8 years later and I’m cheering for Clinton in Iowa. wth. :)
LOL…. 8 years ago I was living in Iowa City and my roommate was the starting RB for the Hawkeyes, Sean Green!
So were you involved in the Obama campaign in Iowa then? I was more excited than nervous but wasn’t doing any OFA work until after New Hampshire.
First time I ever voted was in 2008 for then Sen. Obama! I was working in insurance so didn’t have time to become an OFA member until I moved back to Indy.
36% in HRC 51.5 Bernie 48
mebbe you can explain this to me.
http://www.politico.com/2016-election/results/map/president/iowa
I see some dem nos H-258, S-242 as against TC - 9900 DT - 9800 etc.
What do these numbers mean? If it is actual turnout of voters, we are totally fucked in GE?
Those are individual precinct totals after first and second votes. Plus some precincts may have huge populations (big Sanders totals) but still only count for a small # of delegates allocated. use this to remove the confusing clutter https://www.idpcaucuses.com/#/state
So are the counts number of delegates rather than votes for the dems? Does the GOP do it differently?
GOP does it different… they just do a simple vote at all the precincts and then totaled statewide in the end. Dem have viability tests (you have to get 15% of the vote for your candidate or you chose Undecided/HRC/Bernie if you are a O’Malley suporter) and then there is a re-vote. But after that the individual precinct is counted. But as for your ? the link is the actual vote total after official precincts report. Right now 1113/1683 (66%) reported HRC 50.8, Bernie 48.6
Thanks LP - I’m still somewhat confused - and I thought I had this US voting system down pat - silly me :) I’ll wait for the final result.
We are all confused :D :D The difference is caucus vs. primary states. Nevada (caucus too) is after New Hampshire, followed by S. Carolina. There are ~13 caucus states if my memory serves me right. Mind you there are totally different systems for Gov. races like in Louisiana & California where it doesn’t matter your party affiliation (initial vote to find top two) then a final vote. It is how a D (Edwards) beat Sen. Vitter to win. Louisiana votes on Saturdays too…go figure!
:) We vote on Saturdays too - Louisiana got that right.
Kudos to you, TS. I don’t even try to follow all this - just tell me who won when it’s all over. I simply don’t have the fortitude for the back and forth dancing.
No wonder every election lasts for years - given the complexities :)
IMO U.S. elections are simply too continuous. There is never really a break - might be one of the reasons some voters don’t take it all seriously.
From your link Sanders is catching up to Hillary
44% in 757/1683 Precincts HRC 51.3, Bernie 48.2
As much as I hate Cruz, I’m pretty thrilled to see Trump lose. He deserves to be taken down a notch, although in many ways, I suspect this will only embolden him and his cult. And the MSM will comply with not just 23/7 coverage but ramp up to 24/7 coverage.
I agree with you 100%
Ha!!
Bernie seems to be catching up - or am I reading the results incorrectly?
The gap tightened a bit, but Clinton will likely win. Some of her strongholds have not reported yet.
Thanks hf - I think you need to be taught about this system from age 3 to really understand it
I remember being in Reno, NV in 2008 when they were having a second caucus. They had had one earlier that my younger son and his wife went to for Obama. NV also had a Primary election on a ballot so they had three parts to their process, if I am remembering correctly. The level of complication ended up getting Obama more delegates than Clinton even though the media called the win for her. My oldest son and daughter-in-law in WA state went to caucus for Obama. My son was chosen to also go to the district caucus to speak for Obama at a later time. Oregon had mail in primary ballots as they do in the general election. Primaries are complicated.
“Primaries are complicated” - Just the fact that every state seems to do it differently adds 50 points of complication. I’m thinking my epitaph might read “She tried - to understand the US electoral system”
Remind me of that guy’s name again. He was very nasty to Obama once.
How are things between Hillary and Bernie? I am not watching anything.
So it appears that creepy guy from Canada might win Iowa. WTH. Evangelicals…
with 70% in, bs keeps under 3%. ann selzer is right on the button again?
Just follow Polk (Clinton stronghold) and Johnson County (Bernie, University of Iowa) Bernie is under performing only up ~15% he doesn’t have many more places to gain ground. In the end both candidates will split the delegates though.
Looks like they will split the delegates pretty much evenly. Not a bad night for bs.
The Munster won IA? Must be the Tundra-Twit effect. You Betcha! Trump’s bogus tan&fuzz are out looking for the next target. Who’s left that he hasn’t bigoted?
And the Twit will be so sad that she backed the wrong horse - Cruz would have welcomed her - maybe Trump offered more ??
What is this Decision Desk HQ?
I’d like to know too! Hadn’t heard of it before now, wondering if it’s one of those trolls or something news legit.
Just another prognosticator on social media. I think the official is still the AP which hasn’t called it yet. I have to see who Selzer called for the GOP. I thought she had predicted Trump.
I think Jeb, Paul, Carson, Christie, Fiorina, should follow suit.
they won’t. lotsa grifting still left to be had from the rubes.
I kinda wanted him to hang a little longer, even though it’s a lost cause.
Me too, Gazelle. I am not a big fan of Hillary Clinton, but now that O’Malley has suspended his campaign, I will vote for Hillary in the Democratic primary in California. I also think that Hillary should put him on her VP list.
Figured that would be the case. Note that “agreement” to four additional debates was between Hil & BS; no mention of O’M.
New post.
http://theobamadiary.com/2016/02/01/tweet-of-the-day-19/
wow……
Darn! I was going to vote for Martin in the Primary due to believing he would keep Obama’s policies in tact best and build on them. Then I figured I would vote for the Dem candidate in the General unless Hillary needed my vote to become the candidate in the Primary. Guess she must need my vote. I have become convinced that Bernie is not a good bet to protect Obama’s achievements. Maybe not quite as bad as a GOP candidate, but out of recklessness the results could be as bad.
Something to do while waiting for the final talley.
