Hello and thanks NW.
Congrats on 1st, COS - and good evening, Nerdy and desertflower and everybody who signed in while I was typing this! :)
Way to take the gold, COS! 😄
Evening everyone. CNN spelled “President” wrong on the video…bothers me. Thanks for posting this, Nerdy.
CNN sux!
Little one understands - there will never be another like Barack Obama in her lifetime.
Thanks for the tweets Nerdy - love to know who’s in the binder :)
A binder full of smart, capable people:) Some may be women…. :)
I just had a horror thought as to who would be in Trump’s binder. I am truly having ghastly thoughts about what may happen in November. Need to remove term limits. The reality - only democrats would EVER be voted in for more than 2 terms.
99ts, Sarah Palin for one.
:)
clicked to that and appears to be a nutty free marketing site, so i’ll take that all with a grain or three of salt. fyi…
He is a class act. I love our president and First Lady. We can count on it that he will read every page and know the contents like no one else in the room. We can count on him to use his power and his wisdom combined to make a great decision for the American people. We love you , Mr. President. HZ
We do love our President, HZ. So nice to meet up with you here! Hope you are doing well.
Thanks TOD for all that you do for us slugs out here who just want to enjoy and support our President.
You, my dear, are no slug. Just sayin’! 😘
:)
The toll of the office.
Almost looks like a baby in first picture. 2nd one not the most flattering one. The job does age the holder, but to me he has done so beautifully. Frankly, I like my salt-n-pepper-sexy, wise and distinguished President just fine, thank you very much!
Go ahead, bring on the naughty mat. My rump will happily warm that sucker up for the millions more who feel the same as me! 😍
:) One of the millions here
He is every bit as handsome and elegant. He does look thinner to me, which seems concerning since he was pretty thin to begin with. But no doubt he’s got it, to infinity!!
Bernie’s campaign guy Tad Devine reminds me of somebody out of a comic book. Anybody else see it? Don’t know why, but I can’t take the guy seriously. Not a good representative for Bernie, who acts seriously most of the time.
Just a random thought, no extra charge!
I just looked up his image and he has that sneaky and crooked look with no scruples.
Plus he made a sound the other day during an interview that reminded me of how a cow might sound, if it talked.
No, seriously. Guy’s a flake. :)
I am so grateful to live in the age of President Obama and his wonderful family. I am thankful for TOD and all the fabulous contributors.
Last, but not least, I am grateful scalia is worm food.
Hopefully POTUS can go have dinner with the family, relax a bit, before he get started on that binder.
I know we all love our President! And we probably don’t even know a small part of what he’s actually done for us. Here’s an example of how his executive action has created a valuable and transferable addition to the nation’s military. Not too far from the soda can jammed into the Delorean :)
‘ The Air Force Research Labs selected the Hawaiʻi Air National Guard’s 154th Wing to demonstrate an integrated microgrid concept that tests the viability of using renewable energy and microgrids to assure that the Air Force can continue mission critical operations regardless of the state of the public utility grid or cyber-attack. Phase I of the microgrid will utilize a rotary kiln gasifier that turns waste into fuel, heat and electricity. ‘

Way cool!
Powerful Nevada Latino Group is Sitting Out Caucus
by Amanda Sakuma
LAS VEGAS - Minority voters on Saturday will play a critical role for the very first time this election, and yet, the major powerhouse that typically drives Latinos to the polls is instead staying out of the process almost entirely.
Nevada’s influential Culinary Union has shied away from activating its massive voter mobilization machine, leaving the bulk of its political organizing on ice after union leaders decided to hold back on endorsing a presidential candidate just yet.
But Culinary is not just declining to chose sides. In fact, the union has done uncharacteristically little to ensure that its 57,000 members — nearly half of whom are Hispanic — will turn out to caucus on Saturday.
…For Clinton, the Nevada caucus will be a major test to her
stronghold on support from minority voters. Bernie Sanders could
dramatically reshape the race moving forward if able to prove that his
support extends far beyond white voters.
There are signs that the Clinton campaign is feeling anxious about its lock on Latino voters without Culinary to draw members to caucus.
Rikyrah, I don’t understand why they wouldn’t want their individual voices to be heard. Do they feel they have to vote as a bloc?
If this is true, people are either not getting the correct information, or the organization is done with the same old “promises” of the past. Could be a turning point … or just union leadership’s not seeing the clear picture on the road forward - in which case, union workers are losing out.
Obviously, I know nothing of the inside of the biggest union there, so this is all dumbfounded guesswork on my part. I’m against not encouraging folks to caucus, even if they feel what they hear around election time is strictly pandering without long-term results. But many organized groups reach a breaking point (fighting the same battles, year after year after year), and I’m not sure that’s where they’re at, on this one.
Not buying this.
With Harry Reid’s vote getting organization all in for Hillary, with the strong SEIU organization, I would say she has the definite advantage.
I am not buying this either Bill.
I don’t understand this.
It’s late. I just got home. I am tired and cold.
But I had to leave this post out of respect for POTOUS and FLOTUS.
There are so many people that I admire, will to admire, hope to admire.
During these seven years, your moral example as a couple and individuals have often forced me to look very hard in the mirror and face my fears, choices, decisions.
None of us are perfect. But your grace, class and humble spirits let me know that I have a long way to go.
I may never reach it. We may never reach it on this side.
Your examples let me knows it is worth at least trying.
After all the injust decisions this man unapologetically took a stance for while he had a chance to do some good but he chose not to do so.
And those who know this to be true still can say, “RIP” is beyond me.
After seeing these two humble servants standing there even bowing over this vile excuse of a human being is something I know that it would take every fiber in my mind,,body and soul to be able to do.
I thank you both for keeping your heads up. I thank you for being strong. I thank you for not letting each other down. I thank you for your love, respect and caring for each other.
I thank you for making it look easy, capable, possible, reachable.
I thank you for HOPE.
Beautifully said LDS
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing what many of us are feeling with you.
Actually, I believe PBO can see the good in everyone even if it is a miniscule amount. He makes me try to be a better me. Look at the places of agreement and try to build from there. That approach has unfortunately not worked out so well for him, but it is a very Christian approach.
Those commentators that say PBO did not reach out to the other side are just flat out wrong, I am talking to you Chris Matthews. My it takes two to tango saying explains the lack of cooperation PBO received describes the situation more appropriately. He did reach out over and over with invitations to the WH that were blatantly refused. He gave it the old college try. The media using that as a talking point to even the correctness score for both sides inorder to get higher ratings is outrageous.
It is a myth to think simple invitations will change entrenched ideological ideas. What has contributed to this negative political climate is the acceptance and even fervent demand not to compromise under any circumstance. Politics has become like a war situation, maybe worse as wars have treaties in the end.
The Sanders campaign is turning into a gang of thugs.
Mitt potentially had binders full of women.
PBO has a binder full of potential Supreme Court Justices, some of whom are most definitely extremely brilliant women.
WTH?
Didn’t catch the whole story, but I hope somebody in Hillary’s office there called the police. And then I hope Hillary’s campaign people called Bernie’s. We have an election to win or lose, and the kind of stuff Bernie’s “supporters” have been saying and doing for months is really getting in our way. It’s one thing to have “young people” all energized, but it’s another to have them working for the common good of the party and our country - which is supposed to be the goal of bringing them into the process. The latter is the lesson we as long-time Democrats should be teaching the newest legion of young Democrats, who don’t appear to be getting much of an example set by the Sanders campaign crowd. Ugh.
An epic rant here…
Start with this tweet and just work your way down the thread. Excellent points throughout…
