Jesse, go over to Wisconsin. Help those people get their documentation so they can register to vote. Raise money, be creative, accomplish this goal in honor of Dr. King’s dream.
Two Libyans held at the US military prison in Guantanamo have been flown to Senegal, the Pentagon said.
Salem Abdu Salam Ghereby and Omar Khalif Mohammed Abu Baker Mahjour Umar are the first of a group of about a dozen inmates expected to be resettled, US media report.
The two transfers mean there are now 89 detainees left in Guantanamo.
President Barack Obama has presented Congress with a plan to close the facility but faces stiff opposition.
I think we’re beginning to see in living color, the detrimental effect Scalia had on SCOTUS. Obviously, Thomas doesn’t have him to follow, so has found someone new to follow. Keeping an person court is not leading events the way McConnell wants. He is getting burned!

Statement by the President
I commend Governor Andrew Cuomo and the state of New York for taking the historic step of creating a paid family leave program in the state and raising its minimum wage to support New York’s working families. This action means more parents won’t have to choose between their job and caring for their new children. It means more workers can earn a higher wage to help make ends meet. Since I first called on Congress to increase the federal minimum wage in 2013, 18 states and more than 40 cities and counties have acted on their own — thanks to the strong leadership of elected officials, businesses, and workers who organized and fought so hard for the economic security families deserve. Now Congress needs to act to raise the federal minimum wage and expand access to paid leave for all Americans.
I hope that causes a MASSIVE revolt amongst all those tea party nuts/religious nuts/just-plain-crazy nuts supporting Kasich/Cruz/Trump. I hope that causes them to stay home, make a third party of creepy crazies or otherwise devastate the Republican Party.
And this is how they’d run the country- if they get their greedy, crazy hands on the Presidency. Just over-ride every single thing.. laws, regulations.. all of it. They are so nuts and so against actual democracy and “we the people”.
Exactly, Sheri! Exactly! I also agree with Mary. Hope it causes a big split and the Party is completely destroyed. Then, they can begin to rebuild a sane political party.
“It is upon you to increase your virtue, the virtue of courage—it is upon you. You will be challenged mightily, and you will fall many times. But it is important to remember that it may be necessary to encounter defeat, I don’t know. But I do know that a diamond, one of the most precious elements in this planet, certainly one in many ways the hardest, is the result of extreme pressure, and time. Under less pressure, it’s crystal. Less pressure than that, its coal, less than that, its fossilized leaves are just plain dirt.?

Happy Monday everyone. Thank you Dudette for these reminders of these unforgettable heroes. Love to listen to Muddy Waters and Maya Angelou was a icon beyond icons. What a soul she was.
“We are living in a moment when all of those entitlements are being challenged. Whether we are talking about women, people of color, workers or global citizens - we are all in the process of developing the power and wherewithal to not go along with the perceived entitlement. That has created a backlash of hatred (in the form of fear and anger), which is exploding and fueling the candidacy of Donald Trump (and Ted Cruz). The promise to “make America great again” is all about reinstating that entitlement via dominance.”
It is important that we begin to see current events in this light. That is because it gives us the ability to see what is fueling the backlash…progress. That knowledge can steel us for the struggle, but it is also empowering. The threat to entitlement is so strong that it is resulting in a lashing out from the dying beast in its death throes.

“But as Traister suggests, our economic and social systems will have to adapt.
None of this is easy, or likely to happen quickly, especially not with a Republican-led Congress. But it is the beginning of a new kind of relationship between American women and their government. Single women are taking up space in a world that was not designed for them. They make up a new republic, a new category of citizen. If the country is to flourish, we must make room for free women, and let go of the economic and social systems built around the presumption that no woman really counts unless she is married.”

Voter ID Nightmare: Up to 300,000 Wisconsin Voters Could Be Barred from Polls Thanks to Scott Walker
ARI BERMAN: Hopefully you can vote in the primaries. If not, definitely make sure you’re registered to vote in the general. I think that we should have things like same-day voter registration all across the country, so that not only can you show up and register to vote at the same time, but you could also update, for example, your party affiliation to be able to cast a ballot for one party or another. That makes a lot of sense.
Hello TOD. Good Afternoon All.
It’s manic Monday.
Congrats to Dudette on your Au? & Ag?
Congrats to all the Au? winners since last Evening.

Have not read much today. I will post Josh Earnest’s Presser once the Video is available.
Now, back to catching up.
great gif.
I hope Voter Registration and the importance of being registered to vote in EVERY election was discussed.
Jesse, go over to Wisconsin. Help those people get their documentation so they can register to vote. Raise money, be creative, accomplish this goal in honor of Dr. King’s dream.
Today would have been a great day to help the people all over Wisconsin who do not have the proper documentation to vote.
Sadly, We have too many people who are skilled at spouting platitudes, but silent in doing the actual work.

And this pisses me off more than words can say -
In weather news… ((( Wisconsin )))
Daaaaayum!
I hope there is prediction for a full blizzard soon. And for it to stop right after the rally.
Dang, I was hoping for a trailer! 😀
We all knew that was the plan all along, to give us this Pinocchio as the GOP nominee.
The thought..
the mere THOUGHT…
that they’d nominate someone who didn’t even run?
I’m still sitting here, trying to wrap my head around it.
I know right?

Ryan couldn’t even win his home state in 2012!!
Oh I’d like nothing better than to see the Republican party destroyed- by their own insane behavior.
THIS IS A FIX AND IT WAS PLANNED………………….
RUSTY BOEHNER KNEW ABOUT THIS WHEN HE LEFT…PLAN IN PROGRESS………………..
Maybe we should hope for Trump nomination (not a brokered convention)?
Look at all that blue in the Mountain West — Arizona and Utah — woot.
