Oklahoma’s towns and cities are no longer allowed to ban fracking under a bill signed into law on Friday by Republican Gov. Mary Fallin.
The new law prohibits localities from choosing whether or not to have oil and gas operations within their jurisdictions, with exceptions for “reasonable” restrictions like noise and traffic issues. Other than that, the Oklahoma Corporation Commission will retain control over oil and gas drilling.
The state commission is run by three elected commissioners, all of whom are Republican. Chairman Bob Anthony is a member of the National Petroleum Council, a group that advises the U.S. Department of Energy on oil and gas industry interests. And Vice Chairman Dana Murphy is a geologist and attorney with “more than 22 years experience in the petroleum industry,” according to her bio page.

Rachel was pretty PO’d that Kellyanne *lied* to her about whether Roger Ailes was involved in Trumps campaign — formally or informally. She told Rachel “no” numerous times. Rachel has since found out from a number of sources that Kellyanne was not being truthful.
In a way, it was kind of amusing because Rachel was practically giddy that she was getting this interview. I think I remember others mentioning that there were answers given that Rachel should have challenged and didn’t…she was just beside herself that Kellyanne was sitting down with her. I guess she has gotten her head out of the clouds now and has taken off her rose-colored glasses.
I thought the constant gushing over Kellyanne Conway during that interview was a bit much. So It was rich to see Rachel be so indignant last night about Kellyanne lying to her face. Paleeze. What did she expect? Trump and his campaign are consummate liars. And yes, Rachel could have confronted her more aggressively on her responses to questions. In a 43-part tweetstorm on Tuesday, Doucette recounted a recent experience defending a 17-year-old black teen from claims by a police officer that the teen was doing 360s in the middle of the street. Over the course of the story, Doucette demonstrates many of the problems black people face in the U.S. court system and why changes never seem to stick.
I guess the new thing now is “Queen Sugar,” I haven’t seen it nor do I know if I’ll even watch. I’ve not seen Misty Copeland dance, nor do I know if I will. I say this not because I’m not interested in Sugar or Copeland. I say this because I already know how great we are. It is white America that finally needs to wake up to black America. Maybe it is time for white America to fully explore and study the black experience from the slave ships to the Whitehouse. It is almost embarrassing that they are still discovering us.
