It all seems to come down to semantics with them. They are, for the most part, very strategic in what they say or how they say it.
I have no doubt that Pence knew about what Flynn was doing, just as 45 and the rest of his senior staff did. As far as I remember, Pence did not say that he was not aware of Flynn’s actions. He said that he was unaware about the DOJ’s warning about the susceptibility to blackmail until about a week before Flynn’s “resignation”. In the literal sense, that may be true (though I doubt that as well). But the inference — which is most likely what they intended — is that Pence had no knowledge.
I believe that Sessions was attempting the same thing when, in trying to elude an answer to Franken’s question (if it is determined that persons in 45’s campaign communicated with Russians, what would he do) he made an adamant statement about *his* innocence which turned out to be a lie 3 or 4 times over, and also put more focus on 45’s campaign/transition/WH staff.
It’s a game of “That’s not exactly what I said” and “I can’t control what people think/infer/conclude”.
PBO and MO are private citizens now, after many long and dedicated years of service to us, while raising a family, under unprecedented conditions of personal sacrifice.. The greed of the insurance companies is part of problems that need to be “fixed” with ACA. Representatives from insurance companies were a part of the meetings during the development of the ACA.
But *they* made decisions in their management that resulted in losses for them that they blamed on the ACA. Republicans in Congress and GOP led states did not want to be cooperative and instead blocked (or attempted to block) aspects of the ACA that would have been profitable to insurance companies (or minimize any losses) and make the law work more efficiently and effectively.
In their greed, the insurance companies went further and in essence took their ball and went home. Merger attempts that would have countered the intent of the ACA — to keep costs lowered through competition — were thwarted. Insurance companies, in retaliation, either reduced the plans that were offered, or pulled out the marketplace all together. These independent actions by the greedy insurance corporations were, of course, blamed on the ACA.
The so-called improvements that the AHCA supposedly has over the ACA is more of a pacifier for the insurance companies. It will allow them to play their games to reduce their cost, improve their bottom line, and increase the bonuses for their CEO’s. The increased premium costs and costs of healthcare that were slowed by the implementation of the ACA will speed up. Insurance will be accessible ONLY to those who can afford it UP FRONT.

Heard an article this morning where Trump is bringing in Congressional Republicans to persuade them to vote for the healthcare bill. It even included a conversation with two influential AA Dem members promising them to include bringing down the cost of drugs. The part that scared me was the effusive praise all were giving DJT for his hospitality. Lindsey Graham was even saying positive things. Then I heard a comparison given between the current and previous President concerning bringing in Congress. I am thinking of writing in to NPR about the invitation comment giving credit to DJT and downplaying PBO’s efforts. As we remember Super Bowl invitations, movie screening invitations with the entire GOP party snubbing him.
One of those was Elijah Cummings. I forget the other guy’s name. They were talking how personable and knowledgeable he is about prescription drug he is.I was at my gym on Thursday and saw this. Turned my stomach. I cold not believing what I was hearing. I tweeted Rep.Cummings to voice my displeasure.
