Here’s a thing that has been bothering me: have any of you noticed that the top of the Washington monument looks like a KKK hood? The triangular shape and the eye-like window shapes are a glaring reminder.
I never thought of it that way, CEB. Far be it from me to comment on this, but your observation made me go look it up and also do a quick google*. A part of me was thinking that we can likely see all kind of images (unintended or not, who can prove it?) in *art* because we each bring our own experiences to it. Today, I’ll be a bit presumptuous and suggest you not let this bother you too much, as there’s not much that can be done about it. Maybe, instead we can be further encouraged by the African American museum in DC, and take solace in its presence there as well as in its exhibits.

The bottom line: Putin covertly subverted a U.S. election to benefit Trump. And got caught. But Trump and GOP leadership show no outrage and have done little to prevent a repeat attack from Russia or elsewhere. This is a crisis.
My boss came into my office on Thursday morning and sat on my couch and proceeded to tell me about Hillary and the Russian uranium nonsense. For a $300 million dollar government contract to get awarded and processed this rapidly is almost unheard of. The bidding process alone takes months of research and vetting of every company that bided for the job. It will be interesting to hear from the companies that didn’t get the job.
Bidding process? I’m pretty sure there was no real bidding process here. Seems like Zinke and Trump just agreed and Presto! Done! Not just a no bid contract, it was a “Don’t Damn Well Question This” contract. Stinks to high heaven.
