Fox: 476,537 Tea Party patriots rally in Columbia
Fitsnews: Politicians, political operatives and members of the media came close to outnumbering attendees at a much-hyped Columbia, S.C. Tea Party rally starring U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann and S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley on Monday.
Only 300 people (including a horde of Palmetto political operatives) attended the event in downtown Columbia, S.C. - which is a generous estimate in our book. That attendance figure - confirmed by other media outlets - amounts to less than one-tenth the size of multiple crowds that have gathered at the S.C. State House in recent years in support of parental choice. It’s also roughly a tenth the size of the crowd that attended this same event in 2009.

Pity the poor Teaparty folks - the luster seems to be coming off rather rapidly. I think what is still left in the Teaparty is the hard-core, racist, hate-Obama faction. Those who thought they were just fighting the insufferable tax burden that this President supposedly had settled on them and the deficits caused by this President’s “out of control spending” may have finally begun to see the light. Given some relevant statistics and some plain facts, they are changing their minds and staying away from the Teaparty circus. As the old saying goes: You can fool some of the people………

I think we will see a slow turning of the teaparty worm. They can’t admit right now how wrong and stupid they were, so they will hide for a year. When they feel safe, they will quietly change their minds and realize what is the right way. It’s so hard to admit one is wrong, when one has been so SPECTACULARLY wrong. The lack of people at this rally shows the slow turning.
Do you all realize that everyone of the Republican governors elected last November has fallen precipitously in their ratings? I think Scott of Florida has gone the lowest, but Kasich, Walker, and Snyder are sliding down the rain barrel to the cellar!
Hey Carolyn, I have to give credit to Yardarm756 for mentioning Huntley/Brinkley/Cronkite - and what a great point he made, journalists of that quality would have wept at the nonsense the MSM serves us these days, in every corner of the globe.
The way that guy is sitting, he looks like he is about to flush something alright, and it ain’t “Obamacare.”
