I decided one positive thing I could do today was write the President. I think some others on this site did the same thing. I told him how much our family admires and respects him, and how tens of millions of Americans do too. I’m 71 years old and remember the freedom marches, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, and so much more. This racism has been bubbling beneath the surface for years, and the boil has been lanced and all the poison is spewing forth. We who think like we do, have to be healers. That is hard work, but it can be done. I still believe the majority of Americans do not like to see this wonderful man treated so unfairly. Remember just last week the polls said at least 73% of the people like him personally? That hasn’t changed. Give this truth time to work. We are so used to being in the 24/7 cable news mindset that we want immediate gratification but most things work over time. This is paintful, but it was going to come some time, and better now than next year. Think of how high Sarah Palin was flying a year ago, and look at her now!
I sent an email to the president via the Whitehouse.gov website telling him that most Americans know that the media and the Republicans are using the “birther” issue to distract everybody from their plan to gut medicare and medicaid, and that I will continue to support and fight for his reelection.
”Something inside so strong”….for Mr.President Obama!

Thinking of him while listening to this.
Zee, thanks for the Video, how fitting, and soothing. Thank you
Chip, do you have any idea if they’re going to cover PBO’s NYC event tonight?
Hi BWD, I honestly don’t know, keep an eye on CNN’s live streaming, that might be the best hope:

Chipsticks, I forgot to say thank you for all you do everyday. God bless you, the President and his family.
