fighting back

Mediaite: This week the Obama campaign launched a new front in the heightened information wars that come with presidential campaigns, with a starkly designed and somewhat controversial new website called Attack Watch. The site enables user-generated submissions of what Obama supporters deem to be unfair or untruthful media attacks on President Obama, his political campaign and his administration’s policy….

…. the site has so far been a big hit. A source within the Obama campaign has told Mediaite, that in just the first day, the user-generated research tool has been nothing short of an enormous success. “In less than 24 hours we’ve had over 100,000 people sign up at the website, which indicates significant interest from supporters.”….

….. the very least this digital effort did its job bit perhaps instilling a little fear in the GOP campaign efforts. It’s not difficult to imagine social media staffers at the RNC scratching their heads and saying “why didn’t we think of that?”

The essence of AttackWatch is the Obama campaign outsourcing of opposition media research to its army of loyal supporters …. In the brave new world that is political smear campaigns, leveraging the passion of one’s political base is not something that we should fear, but rather a smart and savvy political move.

Thank you Loriah

I’m in! Can’t wait to use some of the readily available anti-smear hit backs from Attack Wire, whenever I get some of those awful forwarded emails from some of my 60-something relatives warning about something they’ve learned (via forwarded emails) about the President’s agenda. (Sorry for that long sentence!) Those uninvestigated smears just frost me!

It’s not every day you realize you beat Fareed Zakaria to the punch. He writes about Perry today: http://globalpublicsquare.blogs.cnn.com/2011/09/14/republicans-reborn-the-rise-of-rick-perry/

I pretty much said the same thing last week: http://www.thepeoplesview.net/2011/09/thought-bubbles.html

I get to be proud of that.

WOW! Thoroughly disgusted and angry. I just called Webb’s office — reminded the guy that running away from PO last fall didn’t work out so well for the Dems, then said I am thoroughly disgusted w/some of the Dems and their lack of support for PO now and that Senator Webb is one of them. He asked for my Zip Code. When I told him I was calling from TN, he interrupted and said he will pass me to my TN senator. I interrupted him and said my call is for Sen. Webb. He basically hung up on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG! This is SURREAL. Today is one of the days I am really “down”, angry and frustrated and worried.

I did put a question on FB earlier: WHY do people hate so much? My son-in-law (US NAVY officer and PO supporter) answered Fear. He then shared a quote: “Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” -Yoda

You go girl…e-mail him. I e-mailed Jan Schakowsky yesterday, using a friends Chicago area address, to circumvent the block to constituents from out of state. I have relied on that tactic more than once, admitting to it in the body of my message. It’s worth a try.
My opinion is at the Federal level every American is essentially a constituent.

Your son is right. Hate is fear manifested. Love is true strength, true courage. And love is stronger than fear.

Sue, thanks for your help. That is what I stated when I called a Senator out of my state. Whatever their votes , those votes will affect me and millions who are not in their state. Thank you, Sue.HZ

      Fear and ignorance
Corporations own media feed that fear daily with their lies and distortions, not to mention what’s going on on talk radio with the vile Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage etc.
The more people are afraid, uninformed, angry….the better it is for Republicans.
That’s why you never hear good news about the President.
Every day they tell us that the economy is bad to worst, they never talk about that it did improved from when the President took office when the economy was bleeding 700,000 jobs a month.
Or if they don’t talk about the economy, it’s something else, always negative and depressing.
If the media wasn’t corrupt and an extension of the Republicans, the climate would be very different in the States.

Signed up also and following AttackWatch on twitter.
Love Stephen Colbert, here absolutely ridiculing Fox’s ridiculous obsession with the “chintzy clip” on the American Jobs Act:

This is petty, but what they refer to as a paper clip is not. They are morons and so are their viewers. It’s a binder clip, required when more than a couple of sheets of paper need to contained or clamped. But we all know Republicans suffer from reading aversion, any bill more than two pages deep is beyond their pea brain ability to comprehend and retain.

Yes, and - in a month, maybe two - the Rs will say they “didn’t have time to read the bill.”

They’re so transparent, one might want to scream.

I have some RW family, very hard core, a little bit backwards in their thinking, FB’d a link today, I won’t have time to look at it till later: blog.heritage.org. Suspicious already as there was a photo of Paul Lyin’ Ryan beside PBO. If anyone here gets a chance to check it out, let us know how bad it is!

Unfortunately, AttackWatch via Twitter is being exploited by the far right lunatic hit mobs. Disgusting what they are posting.

let them;it scares the shit out of them
they might have been thinking why didn’t have a site like that to lie and get away with it since the so-called “liberal” media won’t ask any follow-up questions or fact check me or call me on the too many to count lies

The Obama campaign is a juggernaut of geniuses. Love Attack Watch. Already tweeting that supporters should follow them and sign up. GOPTeabbagers are scared of Attack Watch and are scared of citizens being proactive to fight smears and lies and spread accurate information. They’ve already been sending me hate tweets and disgustign tweets. I just send out another tweet and remind people to follow Attack Watch and sign up. Ahhhh… Good Times. :)
