President Obama is greeted on the tarmac upon his arrival at Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron, Kentucky, September 22

President Obama is introduced before speaking at the Brent Spence Bridge, Ohio

“The Republicans in Congress call this class warfare. Well you know what? If asking a billionaire to pay the same tax rate as plumber or teacher makes me a warrior for the middle class, I’ll wear that charge as a badge of honor. Because the only class warfare I’ve seen is the battle that’s been waged against the middle class in this country for a decade.”

I usually go to the local stations for livestreaming, if I can find it. They do have live streaming, but I can’t bring it up at work, but there’s live blogging going on. AF1 has just landed.

The podium is set up right under the bridge. hee hee
hahaha.
That’s how you do it.
Love it, the podium right under the bridge is just too delicious.
In the previous thread, there is a comment that the local rags in Ohio are criticizing President Obama for campaigning. Isn’t that hilarious?? This is the surest sign that taking the American Jobs Act on the road is working. The last thing the Republican Party wants is for the American people to get the facts directly from President Obama.
Ladyhawke, seem to me they are afraid of the President out there campaigning, getting out there talking to the people. I guess BO has them shaking in their boots.
Here you go Betsy:

BTW, our First Lady last night after New York: Not sure if this was posted yet, my apologies if so! I’m loving her longer hair!http://www.daylife.com/photo/05q4bdRgDvbRb?q=michelle+obama
Michelle looked gawjus in New York.Thank you Carla
I just loved that video of Michelle introduction of the President, her husband at the DNC fundraiser at Gotham Hall when they were in New York.
 Thanks Carla!
Thanks Carla. Great pictures.
BOEHNER PANS TEA PARTY CONGRESSMEN WHO DEFIED HIM AS ‘KNOW IT ALLS’ | Following the surprise defeat yesterday of a GOP resolution to keep the government funded, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) was described as “spitting nails” in a closed-door meeting with other GOP lawmakers, suggesting “the usually unflappable speaker is reaching something close to a breaking point with his internally divided conference.” The National Journal reports that, in private, Boehner reportedly called the 48 Republicans who broke with the GOP leadership to kill he measure “know-it-alls who have all the right answers.” The bill contained funds for disaster relief, which were offset by spending cuts elsewhere. But Boehner is now threatening his caucus with the prospect of proceeding with a “clean” continuing resolution, which would not have the offsets and be more costly, and thus, less appealing to the Tea Party wing of the party.
You can Munch on that while we wait for the President. Popcorn please!!!!
Boehner should have stuck to working with the President. Might have saved himself.
He is in a vise of his own making. He’s lost control and he is going down. Delicious.
Exactly. I have no sympathy for him.
Maybe he has finally had enough…..but …..only 25 of the 48 that voted NO are in the TeaParty Caucus .
MSNBC will broadcast the President live. Thanks Chips and everyone for the other links. I was pannicking. :D
Where? all I am seeing is facebook.
Tamron Hall announced it. Live TV, don’t know about the website.
Perry Accuses Romney Of Education ‘Flip Flop’
Rick Perry’s team is out with a press release accusing Mitt Romney of wavering on whether he supports the White House’s education policy. Romney recently praised the Obama administration’s Race To The Top program, which encourages states to set common standards for math and reading curriculum. But Perry’s camp dug up footage a Town Hall in June in which Romney told a woman concerned about a national curriculum that he would “fight it to the ‘n’th degree. It’s against the Constitution and it’s wrong for America.”
Romney has been putting out a ton of press releases attacking Perry on Social Security in advance of Thursday’s debate, priming the pump for it to be a major topic. With this release, it looks like Perry is trying to score a question on education to launch a new attack on Romney.

VIDEO: dead beat dad Rep. Joe Walsh: Media Will Protect Obama In 2012 Because He Is Black
http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/09/22/325910/joe-walsh-media-protecting-obama-black/
Thanks Fred. You know I try not to ever use the word hate but I’m getting really close with this guy.
I feel like my whole vocabulary has changed since 2007.
you can add me to that list too Meta
Theo, was thinking the same thing about the babies. Aw, so sweet  !
CNN just opened a livestream:
http://live.cnn.com/
Ohio’s local newscaster just described Boehner & McConnell as POTUS’s “rivals”.. puhleeze.
Republican tools.
I love it when the President said that McConnell said that his number one goal is to defeat the President, really, it’s not to produce jobs. The President kick butts today.
It’s reall, really nice to hear regular old TV reporters describing his visit, as they are on the WLWT stream. These locla reporters are being respectful, and treating his visit as a big deal for the area. No extreme language in either direction. Very refreshing.
I am on WKRC link.. and it was not quite as you’ve reported from WLWT. These guys made sure that they repeated McConnell’s statement on the Congress floor about POTUS- rather than ‘showboating’ ought to be in DC working with him & other GOP congressmembers.
If McConnell was working with PBO he would not have to go to these extremes to get stuff done. McConnell should know that.
Booooo for Rand Paul, lol!!!
teehee
I booooo too, when Ran Paul was introduce.
Functionally obsolete.?
So are Republicans
So Rand Paul is supporting bridges now. I will believe it when I see it. Did anyone hear some guy say “Tell that to John Boehner” when the President said we needed to repair the bridge? Too funny!
maybe there’s something the President knows that we don’t (we can only hope) ;)
Apparently, Rand Paul claims he’s got his own bill, and that’s what he’s there supporting.
Someone on Twitter said that when the President said that the bridge is “functionally obsolete”, someone in the audience said “so is Boehner”, and the President laughed. I heard him laughing, but didn’t catch what he was laughing about. Sounded like he couldn’t help himself with that one - because it was the truth.
I am still wiping my eyes at that
LOL, good!!! Beat his tail.
theo67, I caught that too about Boehner. I laugh too. I am still not trusting Rand Paul. To be honest I don’t trust any of those Republicans.
I am glad Rand Paul was there to hear the booing and had to listen to the President take the repug to the woodshed over their behavior. He should have expected this when he agreed to accompany PBO.
this sounds like John Boehner
lawd jesus have mercy
Sounds like church out there! PBO’s the best @ this. Love the audience reactions :)
PASS THIS BILL, PASS THIS BILL, PASS THIS BILL!!!! :D
I love bridges, the beauty of them…the old historic ones…but it makes NO sense why they can barely withstand a huge gust of wind. Some sad business that this country has so many out of standard infrastructure.
Pass this damn bill.
I’m looking at the tractor trailers behind the President and my stomach is in knots.
This crowd is spunky and I love it!!
Me took, rowdy is a better word!!!! Bring it Mr. President. Oh, they just boooooed Boehner and McConnell, lol.
too.
Interrupting him 3 times already with, “PASS THIS BILL, PASS THIS BILL, PASS THIS BILL”!!!!
When PBO said that the bridge behind him has been determined “functionally obsolete” a guy in the crowd shouted, “like John Boehner.” OMG!! Even PBO has to laugh at that one!!
LOL, I was wondering what made PBO chuckle!
Lord I hope he keeps calling out Boehner and McConnell. Them deadbeat millionaires.
If Boehner didn’t hear that, Ron Paul can go back and tell him. Where to next?
California!!
hit Boehner hard Mr President and McConnell too ;)
The President is showing off!!!
I love the energy of our President and this crowd is just a perfect fit for their President.HZ
Yep. he’s FIRED UP AND READY TO GO!!!!! LOL, and the crowd too!
Amen Mr President
LOOKS LIKE THE PRESIDENT IS THE ONE THROWING OUT THE “RED MEAT”. RRRRRR!
He’s done playing games with inferior athletes!!
the President is killing me right now
Killed Clinton too.
;)
?
I missed the speech. Just caught the last minute of it. I’ll wait to see it on the White House Youtube Channel tonight or tomorrow. But you guys have certainly caught my interest…
Side Note: Was there a bullet proof glass behind the President ? Looking at all those cars and trucks moving behind him made me very uncomfortable.
I didn’t like seeing those cars behind him, either. But, apparently, they had snipers everywhere. As usual.
I didn’t like it either—-I was wondering if they had to go through some check before they crossed. I studied them the whole time.
President Obama “I’m a warrior for the middle class”.
I love this Man.
so happy he is dropping the hammer on McConnell again
woohoo I am LOVING the crowd
He’s our champion, this is just terrific.
I love this crowd! I also feel like I’m in church @ a PBO speech!
Am I in church? Praise Lawd. Yes sir.
Amen and Hallelujah
LOL@ the woman, ‘this was the best 20 minutes of my life!!”
A woman just said, “that was the best 20 minutes of my life!” HA!
That was too funny!
GREAT event. PBO was in very fine form. I love it when he winds up like that. I know he is going to be just as great if not a better campaigner this time around.
MSNBC carridd 90% live and neither FOX nor FOX-LITE/CNN carried it at all. But it’s all about Local Media. And Obama dominated the Cincy/Northern Kentucky media market. That is what is more important.
Maybe they should call them TeaParty rally’s in order to get coverage ?
Aamom it’s not CNN anymore but TeaNN ;)
It’s certainly not “news”.. cnn has been the chicken noodle network for a long time and now they most certainly are the teabag shills.
That’s a good one Fred, TeaNN
thanks Annie :)
LOL :-) @TeaNN! Can I borrow it next time I’m on Twitter?
Thanks to those who gave us the local links. I turned over to CNN live stream at the end and I noticed that they were covering also.
I will wait for the speech to be uploaded. I had to go back to work half way through.
Thank you for the local links. I’m not sure I would have been able to watch the President if not for local media. Great speech and great crowd!!!!
I loved when he had some fun with the setting there today— said that the bridge connects the 2 Repub leaders’ states was “just a coincidence” “just an accident”—and the big grin. Crowd loved it.
Looking forward to what the local coverage of this would be. I was sitting in a public place today and they happened to have MSNBC on while waiting for PBO to arrive. I think I heard the reporter say the story in the local news was that people were saying PBO was not going to be able to fix the bridge, blah, blah.
I NEVER watch MSNBC or any of the others. I couldn’t wait to get my name called so that I could get out of there. Andrea Mitchell was all doom and gloom.
These people never seem to get tired. As Eric Boehlert tweeted yesterday, the day before or so there was a poll out putting PBO at 47%, but all you got was crickets from the media. Then some Marist poll had him lower and that’s what they were running with.
They’re just insufferable.
MSNBC will always find someone who says something negative. The person who said PBO wouldn’t be able to fix the bridge may have been referring to the GOP who won’t pass the bill. Who knows!!
I agree, they are just insufferable. There are so many accomplishments of President Obama and his administration that should be common knowledge to the American people. But the media firewall will not allow that information to get through.
It is so deliberate and so blatant. I am looking forward to the day he wins his second term. My ultimate goal is to do documentary on the media and its coverage of PBO during his first term, including the primary.
Wow, that picture of President Obama in front of the Brent Spence Bridge is just a knockout. It’s perfectly centered with the truck on one side and the construction workers on the other. That’s the photo that McConnell and Boehner didn’t want to see.
I can’t watch right now, but Chips, can you take a look at the ridiculous article at ktlk1150, Randi Rhodes’ radio site, about the “embarassing” pic of PBO in a group photo with UN attendees, waving to the camera. Article asks, is this photo shopped? Please do what you do so well, and address it here. Thanks.
I have seen that picture elsewhere…..how petty can the media get.?
I was astonished when I saw this story on the NBC News last night with Brian Williams. I just couldn’t believe that they were taking time to present such a petty story.
Brian Williams is just another GE mediawhore for nbc.
And even if so he is entitled to a bad photo every now and then. He still looks good. I have seen some bad and when I say bad I mean horrible photos of others. Like Boehner, there is a photo where it looks as if he is crying and every time I see it I just want to say “Dude, Come on! Fix your face.”
Obama/Biden2012
I saw the photo, and it’s no big deal to me. Then again I’m not the stupid ass media.
I saw pictures yesterday and that hand was not there. This is definitely photo shopped.
The hand was there yesterday Jackie because I printed it early yesterday and put it in my Obama scrapbook already. This is so much ado about nothing. It sure would be nice if they paid attention to PBO’s accomplishments like this. Shameful.
Yes, I saw the video but I also saw many without the hand. I wrote Brian Williams and also tweeted the video. These people make me sick.
that pic is also on ‘the last word’ blog.. it is very obviously photo shopped in my amateur opinion.
Chips has the video up. Utter ridiculousness. The man raised his hand up for like .000005 seconds! WTF?
Wow this sounds great! I cannot wait to see it this evening.
THIS! http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/2011/09/22/photoh-well-in-that-case-texas-execute-corporations-too/
That would make a great bumper sticker!! :-)
Last year, Islamophobic activists, allied with a number of right-wing politicians, attacked the construction of the Park 51 Islamic community center, maligning the project as a “Ground Zero Mosque” being built blocks away from the site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City.
Yet despite all the heated rhetoric from opponents of Park 51 in the recent past, the cultural and community center opened its doors in lower Manhattan yesterday with an official ribbon cutting ceremony that faced no protests or public controversy:
http://thinkprogress.org/security/2011/09/22/325821/park-51-islamic-community-center-maligned-as-ground-zero-mosque-opens-without-controversy/
That’s because the everyday American isn’t as ugly as the media and GOP are trying to make them out to be. They’ve got the microphone, so they end up shouting the loudest. But, in reality, the everyday people are just getting on with life.
I’m telling you I don’t trust any of those nasty propaganda polls they put out there every 2 hours. Now the latest meme is that he’s losing his AA base at 86% approval. Did the MSM EVER talk about any of those Republicans losing their “White” base?
It’s so sad to see the media blackout on PBO’s jobs bill. The GOPmedia knows it’s workign and it’s what the people want.
Rough night for all of us, but I played the clip that included his reception, watched him stride onto the stage. Felt better. Thank you Chips, thank you, POTUS.
The Boehner meltdown is extraordinary. My non-politicsl, but bright husband was just telling me that his gut feeling was that JB COULD work acceptably with the President (different reasons, but results matter) if it weren’t for the dipshits he has to ride herd over.
SPEAKING OF INFRASTRUCTURE - Rich Perry should be asked about this at the debate tonight, but I don’t expect it to happen. The simplicity of this disconnect is amazing. The Democrats should be all over it. It’s not that complicated. Perry is a hypocrite.
Rick Perry Wants To Build Afghanistan’s Infrastructure, But Opposes Building America’s
==================================================================
If Republicans are pro-America, how come they want to build infrastructure in foreign nations, yet oppose building America’s infrastructure? You can add Rick Perry to the long list of Republicans who feel that way. During the last GOP Debate, Perry said we need to stay in Afghanistan to “continue to help them build the infrastructure that they need, whether it’s schools for young women like yourself, or otherwise.”
Never mind the fact that America’s own infrastructure is crumbling. Perry wants to spend billions of dollars on Afghanistan’s infrastructure, and at the same time, Republicans claim we can’t afford to build our own. President Obama’s plan would put Americans to work rebuilding America, yet Perry dismissed it as wasteful spending “guided by his mistaken belief that we can spend our way to prosperity. Like the president’s earlier $800 billion stimulus program, this proposal offers little hope for millions of Americans who have lost jobs.”
If you really love something, you take care of it, right? It makes sense that if you love your house or your car, you naturally fix it when it needs repairs. Apparently, that love doesn’t extend to the country. How many times have we heard how much Republicans love America? Apparently, Perry is fine with America spending our way to Afghanistan’s prosperity, but not with spending American dollars on our own people. And he has temerity to call himself an “American patriot”? Perry and the Republican Party don’t know the meaning of those words.

Anyone just turn Tweety off? Once he began starting about PBO losing his AA base (after bashing him almost the entire show), I seriously felt nauseus. Ha, he’ll be live tweeting the GOTP debate tonight and they listed his twitter name as @chrisblahblahblah. The repub guy, Todd, or whatever his name is had to tell him it was a # not a @, he obviously had no idea. His crew must be just as idiotic as him. I’m about to tweet him now. I’m not that many years behind him, but please. Why MSNBC holds on to this guy after all these years is beyond me.
Is was bad enough that he knew nothing about Troy Davis yesterday. Gotta find out who his doctor is and get him on some meds!
In other words, just another day for CM.
I love the way the little babies have their arms casually thrown around the President - they’re very relaxed. Rightfully so - They know who’s guarding their future.
Hi Theo! I saw them and thought, I can’t remember a picture of a baby who has not seemed totally relaxed in the President’s arms. We all know that babies have different temperaments, some overly shy of strangers, yet as we all have noticed none seem to consider PBO a stranger. I trust the babies more than all the critics combined. ;)
Ralph Nader continues his feeble attempt to attract attention by looking to primary President Obama… but this is the same Ralph Nader who continues to praise Sarah what’s her face!
Looking and listening to the crowds here and elsewhere make me doubt the polls. Outside Washington there is such enthusiasm. Good questions in the townhalls too. I did an OfA table in Oakland and people were charged. I think the media is trying to take the president down. Are they so personally greedy that a Christian dominionist Perry government will take us back to the 18th century? Andrew Sullivan has seen the risk and said it’s time to bury our differences and unite against the real danger of a rigid authoritarian theocratic state.
Sure looks like people in the community love PBO as much as I do.
I just wanted to say that I am so glad you posted this Tracy because i’ve been very discouraged today worrying that MSM and the GOP are going to win. This makes me realize that it just isn’t true. I can’t even imagine what our country will look like if PBO is not elected :(
