O yeah, he really Hates people? Lol!
TPM’s Ryan J. Reilly is at the Occupy D.C. protest today, which is aiming to shut down the Senate Hart building. The protester pictured above says his name is Art Brennan. Protesters are chanting “power to the people” and “we will not be ignored.”
[Update 12:09 PM] Capitol Police worked to clear the building’s atrium, and it has now been reopened to staff

This is what I am talking about.
Meta,
Thought you should know, Congressman Mica is looking to kill HSR in California!
He wants to cancel millions and is trying to stall the billions that ate already in the pipeline!
That is what the House is doing today, that and blowing up the EPA!
Yuck!
Thanks for the tip, Jovie. I will get on it. HSR WILL happen in CA. Nancy Smash and Jerry Brown are moving things quickly. They’ve broken ground on the big hub here in SF and all the local transit lines are lining up to synch. It’s super exciting.
Jovie, thanks for the info. Congressman Mica is my congressman and even though I live in a neighboring country to Duval where Jacksonville elected a dem., black mayor, gotta say (incredible)! it gives me hope that this part of FL-a teabagger hotbed-is open to a message other than the reactionary Mica.
GO STEELERS!!!!!! I love Ambassador Rooney.
Ambassador Rooney is the best. He threw his support behind PBO 100% when a lot of people wouldn’t get behind him.
While on the Tarmac in Pittsburgh, someone yelled/ can you win Pittsburgh, Mr President?
With your help, he replied.:

WOW…THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES COMES TO YOUR STATE TO TALK ABOUT JOBS…AND GOVERNOR DOES NOT HAVE THE COMMON COURTESY AND RESPECT TO MEET HIM AT THE AIRPORT….HE IS THE PRESIDENT..
NO REPRESENTATIVES FROM CASEY’S OFFICE….
Tom Corbett has zero sense of decency. He’s a walking cesspool. Pennsylvania was badly damaged in 2010. I only hope the state can recover. Casey is getting on my last nerve. I honestly don’t know what happened to turn him into a coward.
That left foot! *teehee
Impressive afro in the crowd.
i noted that afro - could not miss it because i just removed my braids yesterday and my hair is in a similar state on natural beauty.
Anyone watching PBO’s jobs meeting?
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/cvplive/cvpstream2
I tried watching it live, but the sound quality was too poor. I generally wait until the video is posted then download it for viewing.
Nah, can’t be bothered-
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) may not be in Washington for a crucial Senate vote on President Obama’s jobs bill which is scheduled for Tuesday evening. Shaheen is slated to accept the “New Englander of the Year” award at a ceremony in Boston, presented by the New England council. While the jobs bill isn’t expected to garner the 60 votes necessary for passage, the number of Democrats that line up to support it — or more importantly how many fail to line up — will be the difference between whether the party can come out of the vote with a clear political message against an “obstructionist” GOP minority.
TPM-
Then she should take that award and put it where “the sun don’t shine.”
That is just sad, Jovie, just sad. How can we move our country forward with so many enemies (cowards?) within? Simply heartbreaking.
are these senators serious??
Well I just got off the phone with both my Senators and I am so upset I am in tears. Baucus is unsure and Tester is probably a no. I was in tears by the end of both calls. This is why it is hard for me to call. I get so emotional I can’t say what I really want to say. Now I am very depressed. I don’t understand the Dems.
I get emotional to Marilyn and I start to cry. I think we all need to call altogether to Baucus and Tester. Melt their phones down.
I have the same problem MT- I get so angry I can’t speak coherently.. then I cry (; In my case.. Hoeven is a don’t know yet.. methinks it will be no, staunch republican, although I had hope for him as he hasn’t signed the Norquist pledge.. I’ll try him again just before the vote.. and Conrad is a yes.
MTmarilyn,
Were you able to extract the reasons for (especially) Tester and Baucus as to why they were voting no?
Take heart : these conservadems just illustrate that they are more about keeping their jobs than solving our country’s problems.
But that’s just it voting this way won’t keep their jobs because the Republican Tea Party are not going to vote for them regardless of how they vote in Congress (that should have been proving to them last November when other Conservadems were voted out of office even after going against Dem bills…can anyone say Blanche Lincoln). So they should just man (or woman) up and do what’s right for the country.
Both of the offices said they were looking at doing something different. By then I was so upset I said if you can’t support the President I don’t know if I can support you. And I have been very involved with Tester’s office. I have been invited to many fundraisers. I could never not vote for a dem but this really has me upset. I think I will call back later when I have my emotions under check.
It’s all good Marilyn. Just take a deep breath and everything will be ok. I applaud you for being very involved with your congress persons office and for getting in touch with them and logging in your approval of AJA. Next time, if it helps you might want to have a list of questions written down that you’d like them to answer, some research factoids about the AJA. If you need help with any of these things, we’re all here to help you. Chin up Chica, you were proactive today and I’m sure the President appreciates your effort. Every little bit counts. :)
Thanks Ut, next time I will have things written down. This is such a great place!
(((((((MTmarilyn)))))))
They’re on the wrong side of history and they’ll be judged harshly. The ground is shifting beneath them.
MTmarilyn, it is okay. I have had those days as well. It happens to someone of us. Remember we all handle the calls, emails, tweets, and letter writing in our own personal way. I have cried, raised the voice,(when I needed to) and it happens because we feel so passionate about what and who we believe in for our fellow Americans and our President.
President Obama brings out so much of the good in each of us during this very difficult time. You were doing your beautiful duty for so many others and for our President. That is what true supporting a good person. And we do have a great person to support at this time. President Obama gives of himself so much each and everyday, and we see that, so we respond in ways that we never thought we would ever have the opportunity as citizens of this wonderful nation.
You do not have to apologize to anyone. You just continue to fight for what you believe in and say what you believe in. especially when you know that it helps others in life. That is what makes supporting this President so exciting and worthwhile. We are exercising our better angels. Be proud and be peaceful. You did what was right for you. I am so proud to know you as part of this beautiful family here.
Love you so very much,, so relax and know that you have the TOD family to be here for you. HZ
I tweeted Tester and told him that it is DINOs like him that have caused the wheels of Congress to come to a screeching halt. He and Baucus and Ben Nelson are always voting against Dems, as well as Landrieu and Webb. I am so tired of these people.
I share your frustration marilyn. I just looked at the American Jobs Act benefits for Montana, and I am just livid that a senator from that state would not be supportive of this bill. Exactly what is the problem Senator Tester?? What don’t you like about the AJA job creation benefits for your state?? What do you propose we do instead to create jobs?? Who’s side are you on?? Would you rather be working with President Romney on job creation???
http://www.whatisworking.com/2011/09/american-jobs-act-impact-for-montana.html
(sorry, I just had to let off a little steam)
MTmarilyn - you get an “A” for your effort today and an “A+” for your participation in the political process. Don’t get discouraged. Give yourself a “time-out”, regroup and call again with your facts that you can read so you won’t get rattled. :-)
IF THERE WAS EVER A TIME FOR THE DEMOCRATS TO BE UNITED, THIS IS IT. EVERY DEMOCRAT IN THE SENATE SHOULD BE SUPPORTING THE PASSAGE OF THE AMERICAN JOBS ACT. IT IS ASTONISHING TO ME THAT ANY DEMOCRAT IS NOT ON BOARD. ESPECIALLY AFTER MAJORITY LEADER HARRY REID MADE A PERFECTLY REASONABLE TAX CODE PROPOSAL TO PAY FOR THE AJA.
An interesting post from Booman Tribune
SHOW UNITY NOW, GET BENEFIT LATER
==================================
Whether you represent Nebraska, West Virginia, or Montana, your chances of getting reelected as a Democrat go up or down with the performance of the president in the next election. If you undercut him and make him look weak, your own reelection prospects go down. The president isn’t doing anything unpopular right now. His jobs bill is popular all across the country. Even in states where Obama is very unpopular, the same cannot be said of the bill he’s pushing. Helping him will make him less unpopular.

AMEN, Ladyhawke. do I hear a second “AMEN”?!
AMEN!!!!!
Exactly. They are so blind, so drunk on their little piece of power that they don’t see they’re sealing their own political doom. The majority of Americans support this bill. They’re tone-deaf, selfish and greedy. Collecting their government salaries and benefits and voting down jobs for the rest of us. Rotten to the core.
It’s just infuriating. Democrats have perfected the circular firing squad. Of course, Democrats not voting for the AJA will just give cover to the the obstructionist Republican Party. We are our own worst enemy.
As President Obama said, anyone Democrat or Republican, who is against the American Jobs Act really needs to explain their reasons to THEIR CONSTITUENTS who are jobless and looking for work. There is nothing controversial in the bill. It just makes sense.
It’s the same old meme Ladyhawke. Democrats always always find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. It’s frustrating. The AJA is an economic A+, it is also a political A+. You’d think they’d be all over that. They need to understand that President Obama doing well means they also benefit from doing well as most people who vote; vote either straight Dem or straight repub. They’d do well to get their act together.
I think some of them secretly hope that Republicans will win, which will make their conservativeness seem more moderate and they can continue to skate by just doing fundraisers and picking up undeserved awards.
Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis is too cute getting the crowd warmed up for President Obama. She keeps saying “Let’s give it up for President Obama.”
Crist’s wife becomes democrat . . .

What state is Tester in? I will call him now.
Montana. I heard Ed imploring him to support the bill last night.
Montana.
Dont you just love the Presidents SS detail…they are the coolest guys I know!
these US SS agents are so cool and dedicated. I really appreciate what they have done and continue to do for this country and the leaders from other countries who visit and work here
So Christie will be endorsing Romney ahead of the debate today. I wonder how much did he pay Christie for this endorsment? :)
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/gop-presidential-primary/186749-christie-to-endorse-romney
I wonder if Christie’s trying to endorse his way into a VP slot, and into the White House without actually having to do any work? Too bad they’re both going to be sorely disappointed.
You know that the pompus Christie most likely believes that. God I am so looking foward to President Obama hitting the campaign trail and cleaning their clocks
If you’re not ready to be president, you are not ready to be vp. The vp is supposed to be ready to take over. Christie vs Joe Biden? Please.
I am hopeful that good will overcome evil and President Obama will win in 2012, and ready to back up my hope with action to help make that happen.
If that doesn’t happen, heaven forbid, then if the choice is between Christie and Cantor as VP, I’d rather take Christie. He’s had moments of lucid thought. And I just don’t trust the electorate to vote the right way, the smart way - and I also don’t trust the GOP not to steal this election outright.
Breaking: 2 arrested in plot to kill the Saudi Arabian Ambassdor to the US. Per report Iran is implicated.Okay, we know WHY President Obama is not at the podium yet in Pittsburg
Yup. . . I am sure he is getting all the details! Walking and chewing gum at the same time. That’s MY President!
thank God for keeping us safe and thank God for the CIA;FBI and State Department
Chips, sorry posted a comment about Christie w/o signing in first.
No worries Proud, found it in pending and released it in to the wild! ;-)
Thanks, my friend!
President Obama - “LET CONGRESS KNOW WHO THEY WORK FOR”.
Look at Pres’ beautiful smile when shaking hands. Sigh.
Oh my gosh watching the President shake hands with the crowd live right now is nearly making my stomach do flip flops. I worry so much about his safety.
I’m the same way - I have to watch until he leaves the room, and then I let out a big sigh. I know his SS guys are good, but I just worry. He’s so open and trusting in the good nature of his fellow Americans, and he often just lunges into the audience.
Perry supporters here en masse. Comparatively speaking.
http://yfrog.com/nve9ujj
He seemed less animated to me. I hate that his own party will go against him….and why? I’ll keep tweeting and calling.
Sukey I think the assassination plot that was foiled might be in our President’s mind
Different strokes for different folks. He always has the exact right tone for his audience.
I am trying to respond to Jim Messina’s note. Has anyone been able to get through to Mitch McConnell’s office and actually speak to a staffer? I just keep getting a busy, can’t get through at all. ( 202 224-2541 )
Hi Ladyhawke, I got Jim Messina’s note and I also kept getting a busy signal. I just tried again, and I still couldn’t get through.
I noticed too that POTUS seemed more subdued today. Many things on his mind…
GGail, I notice that too. It’s a hard job being President, but I’m still in his corner.
We are so attuned to our President! Does anyone recall being so aware of GWB’s emotions - whether he seemed sad, subdued, relaxed, etc? We are always noticing these things about this President:)
I noticed that also GGail and Anniebella. I felt emotionally the pain was very deep for him. He will be fine though because we will stand with him. We have his back. I have hope, and I believe that is one thing that keeps him going, US. So we will keep going with him. So much to do with such little help from many in his own party. That is tough.
We will Press On With Him For Sure.HZ
I too thought PBO was subdued at the Pittsburg Forum.
I love the phto where POTUS is bending over with laughter. I wonder what those young people told him to crack him up so throughly
I think you right, the international crisis must be on his mind.
Also the WH says don’t worry too much about the Dems votes. Check TPM
I was not aware of GWB’s emotions, since I tried to look at him a little as possible. It was just too enraging.
