President Barack Obama leaves Andrews Air Force Base for Florida
****

President Obama is followed by commerce secretary John Bryson as they disembark from Air Force One at Orlando International Airport

What an impressive tourist attraction. The castle’s nice too:

Speaking at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista

Good morning President Obama, TOD and Chipsticks!
Well look here….I made it FIRST
Hiya GGail
Thank you my beloved Chipsticks!
You make us feel sooooooo special.
Heh,how come I didn’t get mine, earlier ?
Flip, I missed that amk - with sincere apologies:
LOL. Thx chips.
Chips, is there anyway we can have a newest comment button or an option please to sort as such?
If you look over to the right, there’s a section called “latest comments”. You can see who has posted the newest comments there, and it avoids having to scroll through the entire post each time, like I used to do before I figured out that there was that section over there.
Ahh Chips, you always find the neatest little gifts, pictures, and gadgets. Very colorful, I like
Yes you are first.
Do you know if he brought his kids with him to Disney World. I think he should take a little break and ride some rides. I know I would.
Cindy Sweatt, I had heard every that the kids would not be going. You know h has other fundraising events in Florida and he won’t be leaving Florida till 11 pm, so you know the girls have to be in bed by then for Friday school
I just heard that Rick Perry has suspended his “race to be the One”.
Another one bites the dust.
Yuck, now he’ll come back here and do a lot of nothing as usual. *Le sigh*
Oh, sorry. Hang in there!
#PRESSON
Truth!

You are so deep Bobfr!
Thank you!!!!!
Thank you jacquelin, Kat, Chipsticks and GGail!
Yes We Can … DO More Together - We Must!
Oh, exactly and well said, Bob! I wholeheartedly agree his strategizing and focus is serious business with the intent of garnering the most benefit for as many as possible.
Perfect, so concise! Thank you fanciful!
Right on, Truth spoken here!
Dam good tweet Bob! Although all our yours are!

Time for salon.com to update it’s earlier ‘horse race’.

I just looked at it and it is updated now. Fun.

It’s a ppp pdf. You’ve been warned.
short for “pretty phucking pesky”?
LOL. Your french is improving, alice.
For poll addicts, Pew has a mega poll with a 6-page overview that covers the President, the First Lady (Michelle Obama’s Popularity Undiminished), the VP, Congress, Romney vs. President Obama favorability etc.,:
“Obama possesses political strengths at the start of his reelection year, notably a positive personal image. Large majorities say Obama stands up for his beliefs (75%), cares about people like them (61%) and is trustworthy (61%)….
The latest national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, conducted Jan. 11-16 among 1,502 adults, finds that Obama’s personal image is much stronger than GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney’s. Currently, 51% say they have a favorable opinion of Obama while 45% have an unfavorable view. Romney’s favorability with the public stands at just 31%, while his unfavorable rating is as high as Obama’s (45%). (For more on the GOP primary and general election, see “Unpopular Nationally, Romney Holds Solid GOP Lead,” Jan. 18, 2012).
http://www.people-press.org/2012/01/19/obama-begins-year-four-with-weak-job-ratings-but-positive-personal-image/
My favorite part of the poll. Choose one word to describe the President. The top choice: President Obama = good.
Thx firedup. Tweeting it.
I tried out something today when calling my GOP senator, Richard Lugar. I was calling to say I disagreed with his email criticizing the pipeline decision by the administration that was sent yesterday. In the process I was able to bring up, in different words of course, that I was disappointed in the triangulation with the President that Lugar was engaging in to win his primary election. I also mentioned that 60% of people feel the President has been the one to try to work with the other side. I am going to hit our local and national candidates whenever I can with the suggestion that criticizing the President in a wholesale way is objectionable and I expect them to stop.
Upon Release of New Poll, Veterans Call on Romney to Release Taxes
http://votevets.org/news/releases?id=0478
When Brian Ross was on The View today giving a sneak peek of his Newtie Wifey #2 interview, revealing that rascal’s sexcapades and marital challenges—gaggy gag gag—-he was asked about the timing of the interview. He defended that and also manged to get in a statement that they are going to investigate all the candidates, that he had been doing extensive reporting on Romney hiding funds in off shore accounts too. I liked that he added a tidbit about Romney’s unpatriotic, greedy behavior. Elizabeth looked mad when he added that Romney bit.
dotster3we watched it and Elizabeth was mad I was hoping she defended Newt about his moral character.
When the Coservatives talk about moral issues well they have NONE, they are Evil, mean spirited hateful
racist I can go on and on/ To put it simple the GOP are disgating people that do not give a SHIT about other
people who do not look like them.
toon for today. Hilarious.

Beyond magnificent!!!!
The punchline is fab.
PRICELESS amk!
Thanks for posting this. I HAD to share it
I won’t shed a tear that Perry is gone.
I shed a tear for Texas now he can focus he attention back on the state….sorry folks you voted for him.
looking good, Mr. President.
LOOK AT OUR SMILING PBO…HANDSOME ADDITION TO DISNEYLAND I MUST SAY! MSNBC IS GOING TO COVER HIM. WILL BE WATCHING THERE. GREAT NEWS ON NEWT FROM THE EX—WANTED AN OPEN MARRIAGE…NOW HEAR THIS…WHAT A SICK BASTARD!
INDEED…IT’S ALL OVER THE NEWS…JUST HOW DOES NEWT THINK HE IS GOING TO BACK OUT OF THIS ONE! A WHITE ‘CAIN!’
HE DIGUSTS ME…I CAN’T EVEN STAND TO LOOK AT HIM…HIS THOUGHTS AND TRUE CHARACTER ARE SHOWING! DIRT…IS TOO GOOD FOR THIS ALLEGED ‘MAN!’
You know Newt Gingrich racism bother me more than him being a lowdown dirty cheating rat. And as ex-President Jimmy Carter said on Piers Morgan show, Newt is playing the race card, newt knows exactly what he is doing by using those words, he knows exactly what he is doing when he talk of foodstamp President, black has no work ethics, and the janitor bit, and the kids not ending up pimps and hookers. He went to God for forgiveness for cheating on his wives, but he must forgot to ask for forgiveness for his racism.
I HEAR THAT! ANOTHER ONE WHO NEEDS TO SPEND ETERNITY WITH EVERY OTHER RACE BUT HIS OWN!
I blame the people who are receptive to Newt’s message, not just Newt alone. If people were more interested in tooth brushing habits, Newt would be emphasizing that - he’s an opportunist and a grifter. But, the people who are coming out of the racist closet, and cheering at these “debates”, and congratulating Newt on putting a man “in his place” just because he’s black - those are the people who deserve most of the derision. Newt’s just playing a part - he’s got as little core as Romney, and he’s just gross. The racists in the GOP (and beyond) are living their lives in that state, and they’re feeling more brave about sharing their views in public - and that’s a scary thought. I’m not sure how to put that genie back in the bottle - or drive them back under their rocks.
Sue, I expect him to say that all of that was before he found salvation in the Catholic Church. He will talk about atonement, redemption and everything will be forgiven, just as they forgave W for being a drunken lout and Vitter for being a perverted sex maniac. Boys will be boys after all.
He is coming up on cspan in 15 minutes!
THANKS FOR THE TIP JOVIE…I WATCHED ON CSPAN INSTEAD…PBO WAS AWESOME AS ALWAYS…WISH HE COULD HAVE STAYED LONGER TO ENJOY AND WITH THE GIRLS ON SOME RIDES. IMAGINE…GOING TO DISNEY AND HAVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE PBO! YOWZA! WHAT A DAY THAT WOULD MAKE. I WOULD NEED A DR. THO’ W/ CPR AFTER I PASSED OUT! LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
The GOP needs to enter their final stage of grief: Acceptance. PBO is going to be re-elected, that’s all there is to it. The sooner they embrace this fact, the better off they’ll be. They might even do something useful for this country.
You guys can look at pictures of the Obamas all day long. But if you don’t get off your derriere and GOTV in your community, volunteer and make calls and prepare yourself to defend his policies, we will all be sorry. So called independents or what I call an uninformed voter seems to me are ready to pull the lever for the teabagger. So please yes, donate but you must do more than give money and gush about his picture.
I would recommend you guys read Andrew Sullivan’s article about the president’s accomplishments. Educate yourself, motivate your loved ones, neighbors and VOLUNTEER your time.
Amliss Vess, can’t we do both?
We guys are doing all that you “recommend” as well enjoying the dessert of viewing pictures of our beloved first family.
Wow!! Amliss, if you spent any time at all here you’d know that most of the people at the blog do incredible work for PBO and their communities, so you’re waaaaaaaaay off target with your criticism. Actually, you might even learn something if you read what they have to say. If photos and videos aren’t your thing, that’s fine, but others enjoy looking at them in their free time. So, relax. Okay? As for Andrew Sullivan’s article, we read it here days ago and discussed it at length.
Not sure if you’re new to TOD but much of the community here is active in GOTV, fundraising, writing letters and responding on comment pages of news sites to push back the lies and misinformation, among other things. Your assumptions are really unfair.
Preaching to the choir sister. Preaching to the choir.
You must be new.
Who left the gate open?
Prime example of Uninformed Speak.
Amliss. many of us here work our butts off at ofa and other Democrat organizations, thx for the suggestion though……….. I assume your post means you also are working hard at PBO’s re-election so I thank you.
Amliss Vess, Slow your roll.
You start off with a huge assumption - You think that folks here at TOD are sitting on their asses and doing nothing but looking at pretty pictures.
Have you actually looked at The Obama Diary? First of all, It is much, much more than just pretty pictures. Second, many folks who post here volunteer for the Obama campaign. I volunteer most every day.. Calling, training others to call, collecting food for community food drives, doing voter registration, donating $$ and entering data for OFA. I’m certain that others do some of these activities also.
Check out the site, read a thread or 5. You might not be so quick to make assumptions.
I love coming to this site. I am a lurker, mostly, but the photos and stories I post all the time on networking sites. I think we all are working hard to get the president elected (I am also volunteering on the Warren campaign in MA) - this blog is an invaluable tool for information and talking points to motivate those around us.
I, personally, would probably not be as active as this page has inspired me to be.
Thanks, Chips, and everyone else that posts fantasicness all the time - XOOXOX
My sense is that you mean well and you’re right - we have a lot of work to do. This will be an uphill battle.
Thanks for the reminder.
I don’t remember your name as posting before, so welcome. Glad you’re joining us in this fight.
LOL! “Look at pictures of the Obamas all day long”!! Ha! Do you have a wrong image, Amliss! This is the most pro-ACTIVE site that I’ve ever come across for supporting legislation of our Democratic President and now for getting him Re-Elected.
You can thank you lucky stars as I am for a site like this..working overtime for our Democracy. And, since you must be recommending what you are doing then thank you for your efforts, Amliss.
Hey, Chips, mind if I post those pics of PBO and FLOTUS on twitter? I want to say something like: “This is how you treat your wife.”
EXACTLY…YOU CAN POST IT ON NEWT’S PAGE! IMAGINE BEING MARRIED TO THAT EGO WHO MUST THINK WOMEN FALL ALL OVER HIM!THAT’S DOUBTFUL…..THEY WANT HIM TO TAKE THEM TO TIFFANY’S FOR A SHOPPING SPREE! WHAT A SHALLOW MAN HE IS!
Last night on Piers Morgan, Carter said the reason this President has not accomplished much, was because of republican obstruction!
Not accomplished much? What is he talking about?
Jovie, how do we get in touch with Carter to ask him to explain to us what he meant. This President have accomplish alot. It would have been more if it wasn’t for the Republicans blocking things he tried to do.
He is incognito!
E-mail:
[email protected]
Thank you Linda, ex- President Carter will be hearing from me.
Just email him the many websites that now exist showing the many hundreds of accomplishments from President Obama, and send him a link to Whitehouse.gov - he might have forgotten where to look to see exactly what bills have been signed into law and what the administration is doing.
As much as I like Carter….his ego is gigantic…..
Yeah, he does sound a bit self-righteous, doesn’t he? I wonder if it is an effort to deflect from all the criticism he still gets from folks, as a one-termer, and wishing not to be in that lonely club. Or, he hasn’t read in a very long time. “”"”"Sit down Carter, you’re a little rusty !”"”"”"
I DON’T THINK HE MEANT THAT AS A CRITICISM OF PBO…HE WAS TALKING ABOUT ALL THAT THE PEOPLE WANTED HIM TO GET DONE THAT WAS STALLED BY REPUBLICAN OBSTRUCTION. I SAW THE INTERVIEW. HE ALSO VERY MUCH APPRECIATES PBO’S DIPLOMATIC EFFORTS AS A PEACEMAKER.
Yesssssssssssss Sue, I agree with you, I don’t think It was a put down for our Beloved, I think he means WELL
On other occassion Pres Carter has been generous and warm toward PBO. Think his foreign poicy efforts, especially after his presidency have not been out of line with those of PBO. He is a peace maker. Unlike many of the RWNJ and evangelicals, he practices his religion every day. There is no hate in this man.
I clearly recall him saying that when he was President….that he wrote all the legislation at the White House and sent it over to Congress.
I think he could have done a lot’s more if the GOP had compromised with PBO, but the GOP
keep saying FUCKING NON. NO> NO> NO> and never that’s my take.
Methinks that Jimmy Carter should read Matthew 11:
2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
6 And blessed is [he], whosoever shall not be offended in me.
And that is just the American Care Act.

Awesome.
Think of GM’s plight just a coupla years back
Fuck willard and the rethugs.
Thanks Amk for obama-this is awesome news.
How beautiful is that?! Thanks amk.
Indeedy. I am myself a businessman and I cringe when the rethug pos like willard tell so easily ‘let them go bankrupt”.
Fuck;em , fuck’em all.
You’re right this is too cool:
“GM again the world’s largest automaker”
It’s official.
General Motors surpassed Toyota and Volkswagen to reclaim the crown of world’s largest automaker with global sales of 9.03 million vehicles in 2011.
Eat that Willard!
Now amk, I know you are looking forward to coming home, but,……
Maybe you should rethink?
In the meantime, I noticed you’ve made it before, but I really don’t THINK your recommendation is a good, or even healthy, idea.
Also, may you and Mrs. amk enjoy a great anniversary, and many more years together!
Thanks vc for your kind wishes.
I only wish I’m home but can’t.
And Gingrich Takes the Lead
Josh Marshall January 19, 2012, 12:11 PM
We’ve had a small avalanche of new polls come out of South Carolina this morning. The very latest is one from PPP. They’re doing what I understand is a two night poll. Last night was the first night and they’ve released that data as what amounts to a stand-alone poll, albeit with a pretty small sample size. This poll from just last night has Gingrich ahead of Romney by 6 points. This is one of four polls that were completed only last night — three of four of which have Gingrich in the lead.
The TPM Poll Average for South Carolina is now Gingrich 32%, Romney 31.5%, Paul 14.6%, Santorum 11.5%.
In truth, Gingrich’s momentum looks so overwhelming the only thing that could stop him would be a last minute tell-all interview from an ex-wife saying he wanted to have an open marriage.
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2012/01/and_gingrich_takes_the_lead.php?ref=fpblg
The rally came on cspan!
- The Obama administration has achieved broad consensus on vehicle fuel economy standards, The New York Times reports: http://nyti.ms/w8NoX5.
Awww—-just got nostalgic for D World when I saw the feed awaiting PBO. We have been there many times, with kids and grandkids and the last 3 times just hubs and me—-on way home from visiting relatives in south Fl.—-had fun playing, 2 old kiddies. Just remembered though—-the ride he tricked me into going on the last time we were there—-said it was nothing—-HA!—-zooming sickily through space—-it was not nothing!
Haha! Obama made a funny! Nice to meet Mickey—-”-always nice to meet a world leader who had bigger ears than me”.
LOL.
I was just thinking-how bout’ those polls for the Republican candidates? They have fluxuated wildly based on one statement, one lie, one fact, or one person’s opinion. How steady and deep can the beliefs of those voters actually be? Seems rather shallow to me. My belief in President Obama’s ideology isn’t dependent on any one incident. Who he is, and what he stands for, remains steady-as does my support for him.
President Obama says “America is open for business!” ~ while Republicans put down “blah” people, people who don’t share their religions, say other countries must be terrorists if they’re not just like us, etc.
Hmmm … who has the most uplifting message for the 21st century!
Obama-Biden 2012!
Off to Twitter ~ to thank MSNBC for showing the full remarks of the President, while CNN cut him off mid-stream.
sorry about your aborted cnn feed jacque, but I just saw the whole live feed from my laptop.
Thanks, GGail - but as soon as CNN blocked PBO, I went to MSNBC and caught the rest of his HOPEFUL speech! That’s the way I want to enter 2012 - uplifted, fired up, ready to go!
I pity the Republicans - all they have are 19th-century stuff, put-downs, racism, have-it-alls, etc.
Right On jac!
Cspan is showing him go all the way down and shake everybody’s hands, lots of people laughing.
He looks like he is having fun!
Singling autographs!
jacquelinoboomer, you mean TeaNN.
Exactly. (Jovie was right - I shoulda watched C-SPAN!)
President Obama said about Mickey Mouse, that he was glad to see a world leader who had bigger ears than him. LOL!!!
PBO’S EARS ARE ADORABLE…THE GOOD LORD CREATED A MIGHTY FINE PACKAGE!
Yes indeede
I second that Sue

Pushing back on comparisons between Bain and the auto rescue
By Greg Sargent
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
When confronted with his record at Bain Capital, Mitt Romney likes to compare what he did at the company to Obama’s bailout of the auto industry. Romney has repeatedly said he’ll draw this comparison in the months ahead and make it central to his defense of his Bain years in the general election.
Now Dems are escalating their efforts to undermine that comparison, launching a new campaign that includes Web videos, press conferences by surrogates, emails and social media.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Oh damn. That was good.
Especially the end where Robney says “Let Detroit go bankrupt”. OUCH
Thanks gobrooklyn! I’m so glad they got that quote in there of willard’s stupidly blurting “let Detroit go bankrupt” mittoinette kochead is so damn greedy dumb as to be incredible!
goolsbee tweet
https://twitter.com/?tw_e=screenname&tw_i=160016305171345409&tw_p=tweetembed#!/Austan_Goolsbee/status/160057374172917762
Me likes!
Imagine what tiny offices they must have…
Look, those sacks of dollar bills take lot of space, ok ?
How are you kat ?
“We Gotcha, Willard!”
Amk for obama, thanks for info.
did this really happen dotster3 or was someone making a funny? Mitt didn’t really say that did he? Hard to tell these days.
HI guys and Chips looks like the tide are changing MSNBC showed the whole Presidents speech without cutting it off hope its a new trend. Did anybody know if the other channels showed bthe whole speech. Looks like the retug channels(fox/cnn) thier presented are all looking down today How happy am I about the turn of events
Cspan did, CNN cut him off after one word and fox news is in denial that he is President!
LOL jovie @
fox news is in denial that he is President!
That was pretty funny, Jovie!
Must be several CNN feeds because I saw the whole program from the guy who introduced POTUS thru to the end of POTUS’ speech. to the handshaking.
Hmmmmm?
I was watching it live on CNN teevee. I like to see PBO on as large a screen as possible!
LOL!!
Exactly, Jovie! And, cnn wants mittoinette kochead so bad they can’t let the American People know what an outstanding President, Obama is.
ras today (sorry chips). noot pulls ahead (I wanted to go dirty there for a minute) in SC.
http://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/rasmussen-gingrich-pulls-ahead-south-carolina/322981
Do you think Robney paid somebody to put that story on newt, in the field?
That willard scum is capable of stopping to levels that we don’t even know exist.
Ha, I’d trust Rasmussen as much as I’d trust my ability to resist a bag of cheesy puffs! But it’s always good fun to read their polls on the GOP race…. looks like Newt’s their man.
BUT—-PPP has Colbert on top in S.C.!—-36% to Willard’s 35%! He’s holding a rally tomorrow in Charleston, doors open at noon, with cheerleaders!—a marching band!—-and a gospel choir! Outstanding! Come one, come all!
http://gawker.com/5877419/stephen-colberts-approval-rating-is-leading-the-republican-field
…The guy made nearly $375,000 from speaking engagements last year which is almost as shocking to Stephen as Romney getting speaking engagements at all.
Colbert is too much. Thanks for the post.
That’s where I’m coming from, defytheodds. Who wants to hear willard lie?
Introduction:
THAT’S MY ‘GOOSEBUMPS’ ENERGIZER BUNNY PRESIDENT…I GET THE GOOSEBUMPS…HE’S GOT THE ENERGY! YOU GO PBO! YES WE ARE GOING TO DO IT AGAIN! GOD LOVE YOU…AND HE DOES!
Well, well, this should be interesting.
Newt is already planning his next eight years. Methinks he should get a better plan!
You know, jb, he can plan his next 8 years but they won’t be in the White House.
Funny! Yesterday 538 had Mitt at 98% to win SC. This is what happens when you pay too close attention to the polls and not enough to what is happening on the ground.
Well, I’m just beginning my one of many daily readings of this Heaven-sent blog today, but I cannot help but pause to say, Chips, you are a marvel and one of the best bloggers in the world by content, intent, monitoring, atmosphere setting and overall up-to-the-minute news cadging. Thank you, Ms Chips, for all you do.
You’re lovely fancieful, thank you so much - but I think you must have missed me on my cranky days.
Thanks again, really appreciate you visiting here.
When did you have a cranky day?
Monday. And half of Tuesday. And a bit of Wednesday. And most of Thursday.
Well, never mind… You know what TOMORROW is!
LOL!
I didn’t see the latest “cranky” involving St Rosco, but I did read your apology. Please note my laudatory comments came after that reading.
Well-said Fancieful. I wholeheartedly agree.
fancieful - I agree!
Now I must hurry to the next new thread……….
From Greg Sargent.
Romney last night:
Romney today:
Is there anything on which this man won’t change his story?
If they are the same as they would be if invested in the US, then why hasn’t he invested in the US - the country he loves so much and is planning to lead?
Bingo. There you go theo. I was about to ask the same thing
My question exactly. If he’s such a patriot why is he putting his money somewhere else.
Excellent question, Theo! And Willard has the audacity to run under a campaign slogan: “Believe in America.”
Why would his investments need to be in a blind trust all these years ? That makes no sense to me….
Investing in the Cayman Islands seems to undermine Mitt’s “Believe in America” slogan. Why should voters trust that he will invest in America after he’s President, when he has not been and will how not reveal to what extent he has not been investing in America for years?
My thing is that first his campaign says it’s not a tax dodge, then the next day it comes out and says that the investments are in a blind trust and the Romneys have no control over them. It’s like they react blindly at first and then keep changing their stories until they come up with one that’s the least awful.
Picture a president who would be “reacting blindly” in the middle of a crisis. Oh, never mind, we already had that with GWB.
I see your point. It’s a pattern. First he claimed responsibility for 100,000 jobs through Bain. Now it has become thousands instead of 100,000. Then after the “King of Bain” broke he said he had no role in Bain after his departure in 1994, even though to date he is taking credit for jobs created after his departure.
When he got 8 votes more than Santorum, he won and that was the basis for him to declare in New Hampshire”we made history.” Now that the certified results are in and it’s clear Santorum won by 34 and possibly more, his campaign says Iowa was a tie.
Mitt’s problem is this: he’s shameless.
There is nothing anyone can say to make him stop changing his stories because he has no shame.
Perfect question for a tweet!
I tried - thanks for the idea Fired Up.
Apparently Santorum will be labeled the winner of the Iowa caucus (not the co-winner).
http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/01/rick-santorum-campaign-demands-credit-for-iowa-victory—-and-gets-it.php?ref=fpa
This is good. Although I yield to no one in my revulsion for Ricky Santorum, he’s right to push back on Romney who said of his so-called eight point lead that a win is a win. Well that works both ways. Robney didn’t win Iowa and his showing in NH, his home state, was lackluster. If he loses SC or comes close in a squeaker, I hope it wipes that smirk off his face and puts big hurdles in his path going forward.
https://twitter.com/?tw_e=screenname&tw_i=160016305171345409&tw_p=tweetembed#!/BeeEssBee/status/160066614128164864
Hahahahahahaha!!!
@BeeEssBee
Beth Bee
Brilliant. RT @Marmel: So Mitt Romney didn’t win Iowa? Wow. Even his victories flip flop.
Hey Chips!
Isn’t this the kind of news day you just love? Thank you for being the vehicle to bring it to us! We get fired up to work for our President and revolted, though gleeful about the clown show that is the repug cesspool. You’re the best!
But I almost feel like complaining Dakota, there’s so much good news I can’t keep up
Ah, abundance! LOL!
Aha! A little taste of how I feel when I take a few hours off or when you’re on a roll!
God forbid I should take an entire day or two off, then TOD just falls on my head on my return. ;( {**No, no, I’m not really frowning. Just kidding**
Did Mrs. Greenspan think PPP wouldn’t respond? God, she’s a dumbass.
And she was on a tear again on her fave subject—-President Obama’s alleged aloofness with Congress. Why doesn’t he hang with ‘them fun guys’ every spare minute? She explained that this charge wasn’t coming from her, oh no no no, it was coming from members of Congress themselves!!! She never misses an opportunity to dig at PBO.
It’s GREAT that the pollsters are talking back to the pundits, especially this one!
“A lot of our critics are fact deprived’. I love this! This is my kind of diss! (Oops! Does anyone still use ‘diss’?)
Pundits like Mitchell are Fact Starved!

You know - when I think of Disney World and the other entertainment venues in Orlando, I am reminded it’s not all fun and games.
Well, it’s games … but I’m particularly thinking of when I worked for the Navy. The Defense Department has a technology transfer program. We all know the latest recruits are game-players and really adept at using current technology. The Navy and other services have working agreements with the entertainment industry to transfer technologies for training systems for our young Sailors and other military trainees. No matter whether it’s to train them for sea - undersea - air - or land operations, they can use high-technology to do it, and places like Orlando play a role. It also saves important defense dollars, since the military doesn’t have to re-invent the wheel (or a virtual wheel) for every training incident.
What an impressive tourist attraction. The castle’s nice too.
I HEAR THAT………….:)…………..:)……………..WHAT CASTLE???????…:)
The castle with President Charming standing in front of it.
Yes!!! It’s Prince Charming.
Did BC warn us in 08′ something about a “fairy-tale.”
The President appears in front of Snow White’s castle at Disney World to talk about increasing tourism in Florida and making the U.S. the number one tourist destination in the world.
Yet….
“Where is he?” said Romney of Obama. “He is at Disney World. Guess where he’s gonna be giving a speech? Fantasyland.”
“Yeah, yeah,” said Romney, as the crowd gathered outside his campaign headquarters in Charleston clapped. “He is giving a speech in Fantasyland. All right now, think about that. He will be talking about what a great job he is doing on the economy.
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/01/romney-warns-of-an-obama-gingrich-run-in-at-fantasyland/
Not one thing he said here is true. Not a single thing.
I savor his defeat and ignominious fall from public life.
Okay he got the Disney World part right.
As much as I cannot stand the thought of listening to Newt for the next 10 months, I’m at the point with Dumbo Romney that I actually think Newt’s ravings would be better (and I really, really cannot stand Willard). Hard to pick which would be worse at this point.
Yup, tt’s two chalices of different poisons. I’m hoping they drink it themselves and we get to enjoy the bowl of honey.
i know it, i completely agree jacqueline.
Methinks Willard is experiencing some……what’s that word???…… ENVY!
pj we were so on the same page. The PBO envy must be eating him up.
Wow, what silly juvenile nonsense - how presidential of Romney. He likes to say people are envious of him. Me thinks he is the one who is envious. Envious of the class act that is President Barack Obama. President Obama is a leader, a visionary, and a statesman. He’s got more class in one of his pinkies than Romney has in his whole body. Unfortunately for Romney, you can’t buy charisma. You either have it or you don’t.
Honestly, I don’t believe Newton Leroy believes the bombs that he throws; however I do believe that Willard Romney is pure unadulterated evil. He has no core and is more dangerous that Newton Leroy ever will be.
FL to appear on the Tonight Show Jan. 31. I’m starting to get the feeling that the Obama campaign has launched, full speed ahead.
Do you guyz see the full tweets posted here ? I see only the linkys.
Let’s see if mine works.
The only thing I can see that you’re doing differently is that your twit links have an https, rather than http
umm.I just copy the linky right off the address bar and paste it here. Thx for the heads-up, LL.
Oh, no, don’t copy the link from the address bar. Go to the tweet and copy the link from the date stamp, then paste that here.
It also has https linky only.
I think I killed twitter today.
amk - I see full tweets.
hmmm. I give up. I blame it all on chips (or obama).
I posted that perfect tweet you found downthread.
Thx firedup. That was a smart tweet.
I DO BELIEVE ‘THE NEWT’ IS IN FOR SOME ROUGH AND TUMBLE THIS EVENING! INSTEAD OF OPEN MARRIAGE…IT’S GOING TO BE OPEN WAR BETWEEN THE CANDIDATE CLOWNS AND THE PRESS! IF YOU ARE WATCHING TONITE…WEAR A HOCKEY MASK!
Test.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amk for Obama found this hilarious tweet and posted a link to it upthread. It’s perfect.
Amk I went to Beth Bee’s twitter feed, clicked the time stamp for this tweet and got this url
https: //twitter.com /#!/BeeEssBee/status/160066614128164864 which worked.
I did the same.
I blame chips. Go to your room, chips.
“Even his victories flip flop” for pete’s sake…!
I think ‘for pete’s sake’ will forever be associated with Willard in my mind. Every time I see it or hear it these days it’s followed or preceded in my mind by ‘I’m running for president’. Yuk!
Heck, I see three staying in the race, see-sawing to the convention; then the thugs coalesce around a non-candidate. Jeb Bush? Mitch Daniels?
How would one of those get on the ballots in all 50 States ?
die-bold. easy peasy.
The party is already on the ballot in all 50 states. The party declares the nominee and that is the name that appears.
ah….thank you…..
To all apologies. The first article I read today from the NYT was about a poll showing indies are fed up with the president and have no idea how much he has accomplished. I don’t trust the republicans and I especially do not trust the “independent” voter in this matter. I used to be a left leaning independent ( meaning I did not pay much attention to politics and just remember hearing soundbites from the news here and there). The networks have been on an anti Obama bandwagon for quite some time. Even MSNBC spends hours in the morning bashing the man. A lot of people truly have no idea that the president gave them tax cuts or repealed DADT. Just worried. But I do sincerely apologize.
Don’t let the polls get you down. Turn your anxiety into action. Here is WIW’s handy dandy Election Tool Kit: http://www.whatisworking.com/2012/01/election-toolkit-for-50-states.html#accomp
Thank you
Thanks Amliss, appreciate you coming back.
You just revealed that you care a lot, which is a good thing. We all worry from time to time, but we are all committed to doing everything we can to re-elect President Obama, whom we all love and respect to the utmost. We all understand how huge this election is and the barrage aligned against him. But we stay positive and keep moving.
I’ve had many cars in my day, but the best car I ever had was a chevy.
Just sayin’
We always had Chevys until I got married. Ex-Hubby was a Ford man. I have been single since 1990, and I have stuck with Ford. I drive a Ford Ranger 4×4 with 120,000 plus miles on it and have only had to replace a brake switch, tires, and brakes. It has been an excellent vehicle.
I always had Japanese vehicles…but my next and possibly last will be from an american usa company built car.
Ever since I have been buying my own cars (my parents bought me my first, a Honda), I have been buying American. A Saturn and now a GMC Terrain. Couldn’t be happier!!!
Newt: “I want to knock out Obama, not just bloody his nose.”
PBO “We don’t throw the first punch, but we’ll throw the last.”
Yes We Can!
I think PBO subscribes to the two hit rule: PBO hits the offender; offender hits the floor…
Alycee, I agree!
However, it’ll be tough with the Koch brothers, etc piling on, but I believe PBO will be last man standing. And, we’ll all have to work our butts off to make sure he comes out the winner.
I rreally like that!!!
Float like a butterfly sting like a bee!!! All day long. It’s probably why he loves Ali so much.
Wow…..what is Euro trash mean ?
Think overpaid European footballers with supermodel girlfriends.
like beckham ?
/ducks and runs away for the day.
gudnite all. I’s 11 pm in Keneya.
Rimshot! But, in Becks’ defense, he seems to be in a stable marriage with wonderful kids.
who knows what the rethugs mean with their dog whistles. I’m happy they’re calling themselves all kindsa name.
Ed Rollins. Wow. Hilarious.
I think of “The Firm” when I hear the words Cayman Islands.
Euro trash? What a bizarre phrase to use! I’ll think the best and just assume he was playing on Romney’s Europe-bashing??
A ha, found the trick. Apparently you have to hit enter after you post the twitter linky here. Just pasting it and posting doesn’t cut it.
Really? That’s what I must be doing, but I never noticed doing it.
I think so ? Who knows when the intertubes will act up.
“Aides to former Sen. Rick Santorum say he just received a phone call today from Mitt Romney offering congratulations for the new result in the Iowa caucuses.”
I am shocked. I didn’t think Romney had it in him.
New post everyone:

http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/updates/4322 WOW! Govt hard at work…in a GOOD WAY!
The feds have charged seven people and two corporation with running an “international organized criminal enterprise” by pirating copyright works through Megaupload.com, the Justice Department and the FBI announced Thursday.
In one of the largest criminal copyright cases ever brought by the government, DOJ claimed MegaUpload made $175 million and caused over half a billion dollars in harm to copyright owners.
I absolutely love this idea. From the White House:
What Makes Your Hometown a Great Place to Visit?
On Thursday, January 19th, the President will travel to Disney World where he will unveil a strategy that will significantly help boost tourism and travel, an important sector in the U.S. economy.
We’re asking Americans across the country to add their voices to the discussion on tourism in the U.S. and share what makes their city or town a great place visit. Use the form below to tell us what’s great about where you live.
If you’re on Twitter, you can also use the hashtag #visitUS to share photos and tell us why your city or town is a great place to visit.
