Ooh, I love that! Sexy FLOTUS got it going on! :-) I love your little “gifts” within the threads, Chips. I look forward to clicking on “comments” link and open up and see what treasure awaits. Thank you! :-)
‘sometimes I forget to award them, and it almost causes a riot! ‘:lol: You got that right!:lol: Poor Chips, you opened the gate and it’s hard to close it now. Of course, some of us don’t really mind when you forget, and when you’ve been away your lieutenants have done a good job covering for you by inserting pictures, So, it works!
So Ricky’s still in it. And now he’s trying to push Newt out of the race. If Newt really wants to hurt Mittens, he’d accommodate Rick and throw his support behind him. But Newt’s an egotistical gasbag, so he’ll stay in.
And, I have a new post up: http://www.thepeoplesview.net/2012/03/we-are-at-war-with-eastasia-we-have.html. Take a gander if you have the chance.
For real. If Newt vamoosed and threw his support behind Frothy Santorum then Santorum would be a shoo in to win Alabama, Mississippi etc. and keep this clown race going for much longer and force Mitt “I am a human being….really I am” Romney to attempt to make his sweat glands work. Newt won just one state; GA. Get behind Sick Rantorum and take this mess all the way to the convention floor and give us all a hilarious night.
That would require a sublimation of his ego. PBO can — and has — done that throughout the past 4 years. None of the GOP clowns can do that. They’re all walking, raging ids.
As always, it’s okay if you’re a Republican. I remember when Jesse Jackson would go on his diplomatic missions to free US hostages and would be excoriated in the press for it. If he had been a Republican, the press would’ve praised his public spirit.
Also it’s not like he can afford to do it for very long as disorganized as he is. Let him throw his or their money away. Better for President Obama. Gingrich is not known for being wise.
LOVE THOSE WIND PHOTOS…I DON’T EVEN NEED THAT…EVERY MORNING I LOOK LIKE DON KING W/ A FINGER IN A SOCKET AND A KITE IN THE AIR!…LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL:p WILL BE WATCHING PBO 2 DAY!!!!YEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
I can’t begin to tell you I happy I am for Ron Paul to not win a single state. He was the only candidate to visit Alaska- and he lost. Had his election night shin dig in North Dakota and lost, same as Idaho- all places they thought he could win. And all of his cult like followers saying that Ron Paul has the vote of the youth- and it rivals PBO from 08. First of all there is a big difference between getting 2K at a rally (like Ron Paul) and get 10X that like PBO when he was Candidate Obama. But, THE MAJOR Difference was that those student supporters of the Candidate Obama showed up at the polls.
POTUS got a total of 670,000 votes in Ohio last night, everybody. I think Willard can forget about Michigan and Ohio in the general. POTUS secured those states for his reelection right after he took office in 2009.
I also want to follow up on the article about the Chevy Volt. Someone tell me again how the Republican party doesn’t take its marching orders from Rush Limpballs? He uses his show to poison consumers’ minds against the car, and, purely coincidentally, House Teabaggers hold committee “hearings” on Chevy Volt, and, subsequently, Chrysler suspends production. Tell me again how Rush isn’t the republican party leader? Did Limbaugh say a peep about Toyota when their cars had all kinds of issues a few years back? I would bet that he spoke up in their DEFENSE when Democrats in Congress were holding their hearings on Toyota.
The Volt was named European car of the year: http://bottomline.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/06/10591706-chevy-volt-named-european-car-of-the-year Republicans are consumed by their hatred of Obama and thereby consumed by hatred of anything he supports. It’s ridiculous and destructive. It’s hurting America. So much for their patriotism.

It was perhaps Barack Obama’s most intense immersion in the charged campus racial politics of the late 1980s and early 1990s: As President of the Harvard Law Review in the spring of his final year there, 1990, he aligned himself with Professor Derrick Bell’s dramatic protest for diversity on the faculty of Harvard Law School.
Bell was the first black tenured professor at the school, and a pioneer of “critical race theory,” which insisted, controversially, on reading issues of race and power into legal scholarship. His protest that spring was occasioned by Harvard’s denial of tenure to a black woman professor, Regina Austin, at a time when only three of the law school’s professors were black and only five women. He told Harvard he would take a leave of absence — a kind of academic strike — “until a woman of color is offered and accepted a tenured position on this faculty,” and he launched a hunger strike to dramatize his point.
Obama was a major figure on campus, the first black president of the Law Review. Some friends, in a prescient joke, just referred to him as “the first black president.” He had a reputation as a conciliatory figure, not a confrontational one like Bell.
An excellent question, Hachikō! There is absolutely NOTHING in it that even a wingnut could get excited about. I’m guessing they think it portrays PBO as a radical …. eh, it doesn’t. Of course what the video does prove is that even in 1990 he was black. That might be the problem
That’s hilarious LOL, that clip is from a **widely** seen PBS documentary that’s about three years old, I posted a similar clip a couple of weeks ago. This was the best Breitbart could produce?
Buzzfeed said some crap about it being licensed to them— but NOW online, WTF? Either way..a big Yawn as far as controversy goes. Me, myself, I am still waiting on the Michelle Obama “Whitey” tape. Should be coming out pretty soon. :)
Seriously, is this the best they can do? I first saw that footage on that PBS documentary, it’s been around for ages and is utterly uncontroversial! If anything, it shows that he was the same even, moderate character then as he is now, that’s why he was elected head of the Harvard law Review. Here’s that clip I posted recently:
Funny, I watched this about three times when you posted it, Chips. Just wow. The only thing I saw was a young version of the same man we have in the White House now- same stance, same hands in the pockets, but oh so much more handsome.
wow, just wow, everyone, this WP columnist absolutely skewers Rush. Got this by way of DK (sorry, BWD) and it is a must read:
“Here’s the thing: She didn’t. She said nothing whatsoever about her own sex life. She did not mention her own contraceptive needs at all: She spoke passionately and eloquently, and respectfully, about several friends of hers, Georgetown students who she said were diagnosed with medical conditions requiring the birth control pill, but who could not get it because they could not afford it. That was it. Here is the transcript of her testimony.
In short — though Limbaugh doesn’t address this in his mealy-mouthed, backhanded “apology” — Limbaugh just made it all up, then went hog-wild, oinker-frenzy-wild, elaborating on it so he could call her names. Calling people names is bad, but calling people names based on your own invented calumny is the textbook definition of slander. The First Amendment does not protect you from that, nor should it. Even on an issue of public debate, and even if the victim is a public figure, as Ms. Fluke was here, “fair comment” is not a defense if you made up the central fact, and the central fact is wrong and is damaging and if your intent was to injure. I’m no lawyer, but as I see it: Check, check, check, check. I hope Ms. Fluke knows a good lawyer; if she doesn’t, one will find her, I suspect: The pockets here are really deep, though constricted and attenuated a bit: A LOT of flibbity-flabbity belly fat there, Rush. You really should do something about that, in your well-merited retirement.

On the top right corner each tweet, you will see a timeline (2h, 1m etc.). Hover your mouse on that time line and you will see “open”. Right click on “open”, copy the link location and paste it here.
On the tweet, click on the time stamp. Where it says ten minutes, 1 hour or 3 days. Then it will take you to the tweet. Copy the URL in the address bar and then come here and paste it in the comment box. It should appear like Amk’s tweets upthread.
Click on the “Open” link of the tweet you want to embed. Then click on the “Details” link. That will open a page with a unique URL. Just copy and post that, making sure to hit the return after the link.
Hachikō, hover your mouse over the tweet and you’ll see ‘open’ in the right corner. Click that and you’ll then see ‘details’ underneath the tweet. Click that, then copy the url and paste it in to the comment box here. That should work - I hope!
LOL, like a fool I used to give instructions here on how to post pics in the comments, not realizing that only I could do it from the admin section of the blog. It’s still a mystery to me why it can’t be done when YouTube videos can be posted.
But if there’s a photo attached to a tweet it will show up when you post the tweet here.
Hahaha. I peeked at one of the “red,” right-wing sites to see their reaction to last night’s results. Let’s just say they’re not feeling the Mitt love.
To wit:
Many political analysts compare 2012′s Republican Presidential cycle to the Democrats’ go of it in 2008. Barack Obama deployed a delegate strategy while Hillary Clinton went for big state wins. It worked to Barack Obama’s favor. This year, it works for Romney.
Both took a while and had some ups and downs, but ultimately Barack Obama prevailed. After Ohio came in tonight, it is clear Mitt Romney will be the Republican nominee if Newt Gingrich stays in the race. Gingrich is now only serving as a spoiler to Santorum.
The big difference between 2008 and 2012 is that in 2008, David beat Goliath. The base of the party rallied to the David who took out the machine no one thought could be taken out. In 2012, Goliath is beating David and no one ever really cheers for Goliath.

You’re right! I held my breath and clicked on the #tcot twitter hashtag last night, and whoa! I didn’t see ONE positive tweet about Romney’s wins last night. They do NOT like him! Haha!

The Morning Plum
By Greg Sargent
Last night, Mitt Romney won Ohio — a state that the GOP needs in order to win in November — by a single point. Against Rick Santorum.
Romney, by racking up a decisive win among delegates, confirmed that the nomination is within his grasp. But Santorum’s strong showing in Ohio, and his wins in other states, again revealed that key GOP constituencies aren’t willing to come to terms with Romney as their nominee, and that Romney has weaknesses that are only getting exacerbated by the battering he’s taking in the primary, ones that could haunt him in the general election.
The exit polls tell a familiar story: In Ohio, Romney won among college graduates — but lost among voters without college degrees. He won among those with incomes over $100,000, but lost among voters below that. Fewer than a quarter of Ohio voters think Romney “best understands the problems of people like you.”
More broadly, Dan Balz’s overview nicely sums up the damage Romney has sustained:
Romney is in worse shape at this point in the campaign than virtually all recent previous nominees. Demographically, his image among independent voters, the most critical swing group, is more negative now than it was when the primary battle began. He could be hurt among women. He is in trouble with Latinos, a growing part of the electorate that is tilting even more Democratic than it was four years ago. He is not as strong as he needs to be among working-class white voters, among whom President Obama has been consistently weak.
Romney will be able to reintroduce himself to key swing constituencies once he wins the nomination, so his current weaknesses could prove ephemeral. But Dems are betting that his negatives will be very difficult to shake, particularly when the Obama machine gears up to full strength and attempts to tattoo Romney permanently with the positions he’s adopted to muddle through the primary. Pretty soon, Romney will be facing an operation somewhat more formidable than Santorum’s shoestring campaign.
Foot in mouth again! In his Super Tuesday speech, Romney regaled his supporters with a little story- one that outlined how happy he was to have met with a local gentleman who started making inventions in his garage and now has 30+ patents on those inventions. Romney then said this gentleman’s success happened without ANY government intervention. No big government in the garage! Okay….but….
….doesn’t Romney realize that the US Patent office is an agency of the (government) Dept. of Commerce?
So….in reality, the local gentleman has had the US government ‘interfere’ 30+ times so that his 30+ inventions could be protected.
*No ill will towards the inventor gentleman, of course.
“What does it say about a candidate, though, who wrote an op-ed in 2009 saying that, please apply what we did in Massachusetts nationally on an individual mandate, and then goes on the campaign trail yesterday and just lies? He lied yesterday. It’s on videotape. What does that — what are conservatives to think about that?” - Joe Scarborough.
My answer: that Romney is one of the hollowest, shallowest candidates for national office I’ve witnessed, and brazen lying in a smooth, authoritative advertizing voice, is his first resort
I’m convinced that Romney is a pathological liar if that means he lies about most everything without even having a reason or even realizing he is lying. No conscience involved when he does lie. If they don’t even realize they are lying do they pass a lie detector too?
This video brought tears to my eyes. If more Americans felt this strongly about their right to vote there would be an uprising in this country about the systematic attempt by the Republican Party to disenfranchise voters. This is so powerful. I don’t know how anyone can watch this and not be moved and enraged. This is against everything we stand for.
YESTERDAY IN ‘TRYING TO VOTE’

Former Marine Protests Photo ID to Vote Law on Election Day
The Big Lies Of Mitt Romney, Ctd
Paul Waldman asks when the press will start calling them out:
There are lots of things Romney says about Obama that are distortions, just plain ridiculous, or unfalsifiable but obviously false, as when he often climbs into Obama’s head to tell you what Obama really desires, like turning America into a militarily weak, economically crippled shadow of Europe (not the actual Europe, but Europe as conservatives imagine it to be, which is something like Poland circa 1978). But there are other occasions, like this one, where Romney simply lies, plainly and obviously. In this case, there are only two possibilities for Romney’s statement: Either he knew what Obama has said on this topic and decided he’d just lie about it, or he didn’t know what Obama has said, but decided he’d just make up something about what Obama said regardless of whether it was true. In either case, he was lying.
Can’t help but think that Willard is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s. Is he a closet heavy drinker? Does dementia run in his family? He is a liar. Also I don’t think that he is too bright.
So true. Does he not realize that being President is serious business? He is so out of touch with life and with people in general. Boy oh boy. He could also have received severe head trauma and it is showing up.
Let’s remember that over the next several months/years the RWNJs are going to try to destroy all the progress we’ve made in health care reform. So it would be great if we could continually post positive results on twitter, FB, email, whatever means necessary, to get the story about about the success and savings of PBO’s historic legislation. This stiff will also be important for us to know as we head into phonebanking for the general.
Here’s one today to get us going:
Seniors Seeing the Savings from the Affordable Care Act
Last week, several announcements from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) showed how people with Medicare are already benefiting from the Affordable Care Act:
*Nearly 3.6 million people with Medicare saved $2.1 billion on their prescription drugs in 2011 thanks to the Affordable Care Act.
*The average person with Medicare will save nearly $4,200 by 2021 because of the new law.
*Medicare Advantage premiums have fallen by 7 percent on average and enrollment has risen by about 10 percent from 2011, and premiums are down by 16 percent since 2010.
I wish some people on Facebook and Twitter will realize that Pres. Obama has already sent troops to Uganda to help find Joseph Kony last year, and they are still there. He took a lot of heat for that decision, and if he didn’t send troops some would still complain about America/him in regards to Kony. The 100 soldiers are enough and I believe they will help the locals capture Kony.
I love seeing these wonderful young people at the WH cheering as POB departs the WH to Marine One. What a beautiful looking, sharp, and cheerful group of young people. Our POTUS is also looking cheerful and fine as well. Have a great time in N.C., Mr. President. You have our support.HZ
Good morning everybody

Just pre-ordered it for my kindle.

Oh yea ole wise one Chipsticks :-)
Yes, that might be the ongoing continuous problem…..Barack Obama is black!
And that he was in college. What a snob.
Yikes yes, Sick Rantorum will probably use this in his next ad: See? SNOB!”

On the tweet, click on the time stamp. Where it says ten minutes, 1 hour or 3 days. Then it will take you to the tweet. Copy the URL in the address bar and then come here and paste it in the comment box. It should appear like Amk’s tweets upthread.
thank you!
Click on the “Open” link of the tweet you want to embed. Then click on the “Details” link. That will open a page with a unique URL. Just copy and post that, making sure to hit the return after the link.
As you can see from our different responses, it depends on which version of twitter you happen to have at the moment!
thanks, meta. :-)
Hachiko, I hope someone responds because that’s what I would like to know to do.
Until I can figure out how to embed a tweet, just wanted to bring this to everyone’s attention:
@TeamBarackObama
RT @ZekeJMiller: Obama campaign to release a 17-minute documentary on Obama’s first term directed by Davis Guggenheim
I can’t wait!
OOOOOOoooooooo!
Cannot WAIT to see it!
We must have a viewing party!! Invite errryboddyyyyy!! Refreshments, buttons, streamers. I’ll clean up the next day. Heh.
“I’ll clean up the next day.”
Huh, like you cleaned up the last time?
:)
Oh wow, somebody left a cracker behind?
This crowd is dangeroooooous.
Hear hear!!!
Hachikō, hover your mouse over the tweet and you’ll see ‘open’ in the right corner. Click that and you’ll then see ‘details’ underneath the tweet. Click that, then copy the url and paste it in to the comment box here. That should work - I hope!
Hachiko—For tweets such as this, I go to the Open tweet and then details and then copy and paste the url—I still haven’t figured out pictures, yet.

…and other miscellaneous despair. Bwahaha!
Meant to set aside the quote to make it clearer:
You’re right! I held my breath and clicked on the #tcot twitter hashtag last night, and whoa! I didn’t see ONE positive tweet about Romney’s wins last night. They do NOT like him! Haha!
Hey folks on twitter…You wanna tell Buzzfeed how unseen this video is?
Done.
Double done.

This kind of dumb shit by the GOP hurts my brain.
Yglesias Award Nominee
“What does it say about a candidate, though, who wrote an op-ed in 2009 saying that, please apply what we did in Massachusetts nationally on an individual mandate, and then goes on the campaign trail yesterday and just lies? He lied yesterday. It’s on videotape. What does that — what are conservatives to think about that?” - Joe Scarborough.
My answer: that Romney is one of the hollowest, shallowest candidates for national office I’ve witnessed, and brazen lying in a smooth, authoritative advertizing voice, is his first resort
http://andrewsullivan.thedailybeast.com/2012/03/yglesias.html
I’m convinced that Romney is a pathological liar if that means he lies about most everything without even having a reason or even realizing he is lying. No conscience involved when he does lie. If they don’t even realize they are lying do they pass a lie detector too?
This video brought tears to my eyes. If more Americans felt this strongly about their right to vote there would be an uprising in this country about the systematic attempt by the Republican Party to disenfranchise voters. This is so powerful. I don’t know how anyone can watch this and not be moved and enraged. This is against everything we stand for.

I commented last night that I think there is something seriously wrong with him. Everything he says is lies or distortions.
So true. Does he not realize that being President is serious business? He is so out of touch with life and with people in general. Boy oh boy. He could also have received severe head trauma and it is showing up.
Mitt Romney=Pathological Liar!
My question would be..do sociopaths run in his family..pathological liars? Did he marry one?

Oooh…would love to have a better picture of the helicoper pilot…he looks kinda interesting…
I wonder if that is the female helicopter one pilot that there was a special about ?
I wish some people on Facebook and Twitter will realize that Pres. Obama has already sent troops to Uganda to help find Joseph Kony last year, and they are still there. He took a lot of heat for that decision, and if he didn’t send troops some would still complain about America/him in regards to Kony. The 100 soldiers are enough and I believe they will help the locals capture Kony.
This is the kind of story we need to see more of
