Yo!
Congrats. Chuips, I am sure Pamela would like another picture of FLOTUS as her reward. ;)
Who the heck is Chuips? Sorry about that.
Oh, japa! On my iPad Chuips is usually Chios, but I try to catch it so as to not hurt her feelings! This photo was worth all the stress of being first! Thank you Peggysticks!
Pamela = winner!!!
That works for everybody.
Oh, yes it does! ;)
When is this picture of POTUS and FLOTUS, 2010, 2011???? It’s very nice, real nice.
So, so, so… chips did you read my comment about your FR page? Gotta start getting ready for work, but don’t mind saying bye bye from this handy spot! Will be back to check up on my prize, what oh what will it be, I wonder…. Eeek!
Helloooooo Pamela, thanks again for the reminder about the link, I’d completely forgotten - although I’m more than thrilled for everyone to keep on donating to CollegeKay! Will change it though for our 9th birthday party!
vcprez is gonna be pissed off… Again.
 (She’s probably talking to herself in the last thread, wondering where everyone is gone)
 You know me so well. I was answering Jovie, but I did check BEFORE I started my answer. I suppose I can’t blame you that I’m so darned ‘wordy’! Yuck! You did give me a hint after all. ;) Thanks, for trying.
No no, she won’t be pissed at me ~ I saved her on her birthday, that has long lasting good karma! Sheesh, I really gotta move it, probably will miss another 5 or 6 threads like I did yesterday… Oh, well, can’t be helped. You guys have loads of fun, Chips!
‘I saved her on her birthday, that has long lasting good karma’
You better believe it does, Pamela!  Plus, I’m never mad at the winners, only at the award donor. **lowered eyes** Except today, I have to concede that I failed all by myself.
I’m heading out shortly too for a couple of hours. You have yourself a good day at work, aided by quick peeks at your prize.
Congrats Pamela on #1.
:) TY, HF
‘Yo’ back at you, Pamela! Enjoy your prize when it is delivered. ( I stopped to smell the roses at exactly the wrong time.)
“I stopped to smell the roses at exactly the wrong time”

See, she does love me (not to mention VC has a great and loving Soul! )
PBOg is just getting warmed up for the obliteration of “severely conservative” Willard. Ha!
:) Am I? Did I? Oh
No. No. And understood.

This is for you vcprez. Screw chips.
That. Is. Magnificent!!!!!!!!!
Now Amk, special friend, what kind of suggestion is that? Haven’t you accepted yet that 2012 Obama democrats do not deal in rash behaviour? We bide our time while laying our groundwork. Okay, sure my groundwork hasn’t worked yet, but I’m using the long view, North Star strategy. Chips won’t know what hit her when I start to win continuously. [Add ‘dreams’ smilie here] ;)
Mark Knoller is back with snarky tweets. He can’t stand the idea of having to pay a few $$ more in taxes.
Well, if he makes enough to be affected by the tax increases PBO wants, then he is way overpaid.
I got so mad at him one time when he tweeted one of his snarky tweets. Normally I ignore him, but this tweet was just so evil. I told him “Mark, go stuff your face with a donut” If anyone watches the press briefings, one sees how whale like he is. He’s huge. Beyond obese. That’s beside the point for now. He replied saying, he was actually looking for a fast food joint that served breakfast and he wasn’t happy right now because he couldn’t find one. I didn’t know whether to laugh or shake my head in bemusement.
LOL - I actually remembered that exchange between you and him. :)
Etch a Stench is lying.
And in other Breaking News: This blog is called The Obama Diary and owned by Chipsticks.
At the end of the previous thread, I referred to this. Whaqt Romney doesn’t say is that most of the women that lost jobs were employed in the public sector as teachers, clerical, etc. Those jobs were lost by mostly Republican states slashing funding to education and whatnot and the Republicans not passing the funding PBO wanted to give the states to keep those jobs. In effect, he is just providing more ammunition for the Dems to wtalk about the Republican War on Women, not just in the area of personal choice but also economically.
I think what Mitt and his campaign are trying to do is flip anything that the Obama Campaign calls him out on, into “well both sides do it too.” They’re doing this to try to take the sting out of the charge, so when the issue is brought up in a debate or videos are ran on the topic it doesn’t have the same impact on voters. Mitt is losing women voters badly, and Anne cannot him him regain them.
And his argument is even more readily flipped to emphasize what the republicans have been doing. PBO should probably thank him for pointing this out.
He’s making a deadly mistake, which is fine by me. Since the beginning of PBO’s term polls have consistently shown that most voters, even this deep into PBO’s presidency, still correctly blame W. for the recession so if Williard is dumb enough to keep mentioning how women have lost jobs in the recession, most people will blame Bush and Republican policies not PBO.
Mitt Romney is the Most Cynical Republican Candidate Ever
By Bob Cesca
—————————-
Romney has entirely broken down any facade of having a core set of, well, anything. He doesn’t need core values. Core values are an abandoned genetic trait — a worthless vestigial organ — lost in the, ahem, evolution of the party. Mitt Romney is The Modern Republican. He’s an empty suit who has streamlined Republican campaigning down to an even thinner and more corrosive process than Lee Atwater, Karl Rove or Ed Rollins could have ever envisioned.
And it’s helping an already thin, sketchy, marginalized Republican Party become even more anemic, and anyone can see where the trend line is heading. The Republicans, even though they had few accomplishments to ballyhoo after the Bush years, at least claimed some sort of core beliefs. Romney is making that unnecessary. And who cares? People expect politicians to be rudderless automatons. So why struggle against that? This is the height of political cynicism and it’s the centerpiece of the Romney campaign strategy.

From TP:
http://thinkprogress.org/lgbt/2012/04/11/462104/romney-nom-endorsement/
The National Organization for Marriage — which has been using race as a wedge in the marriage debate — will endorse presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney this morning, Politico reports. “Now is the time for all people who recognize the importance of marriage to come together to support a true champion, Mitt Romney, against an incumbent who has done virtually everything in his power to undermine the institution of marriage,” the group’s President Brian Brown will say in a statement.
Romney has secretly given the group $10,000 to advocate for Proposition 8 in 2008 and signed-on the group’s pledge to strongly oppose the advancement of LGBT equality:
Good morning, TODville!! My comment box is getting smaller and smaller and smallerrrrrr, so I’ll make this brief: POTUS about to lay it out on the Buffett Rule. Let’s go, POTUS!!
He’s so on point.
I, too, leave my funniest and most insightful musings on the tail end of the previous thread. One day, archeologists will search these long forgotten threads, and find my gems. Until then, you all will just have to take my word. :)
Ha! Yes, some of my best prose is at the bottom of certain threads, right under yours! Too bad you missed it.
  I like your perspective on those tail end comments I always seem to end up leaving.

Bruising Primary Has Put Romney In “Historically Weak” Position
Polling gives Democrats a reason to be confident
Well, unfortunately I have to go to work. I was hoping to catch him before I have to leave, but it’s running late, so :( Talk to everyone later today. Gotta to go and change students’ lives!!!
Another McCarthy era? West is a whacked out cuckoo bird
Do people even think about the Communist Party any more? The sounds of desparation ringing in the air.
So now the schools will soon have to do that drill. Kids, get under your desks, now! How many communist countries are left in today’s word? Norh Korea and who else? Cuba, the same Cuba that can’t even take care of their own since Russia split up and can’t help anymore. Ah well, the communists are coming to get us. Be afraid, be very afraid.
“Rep. West, Joe McCarthy for you on line 1.” WTH is wrong with these wackos?
Didn’t the Quitter just promote him for VP? I know some RWNJ was a couple weeks ago.
Oh, please, pleeeeeese, Mitt, we’re begging you: choose this guy as your VP!! ::::fingers crossed::::
And 95% of the House Republicans are racists. Even the black ones Allen West hate their own people.
I’m hearing young children’s voices. Who would bring their young kids to an event like this :)
I thought that was Boehner crying.
lol probably…
Uh Oh, the Reagan rule…..
-Someone who didn’t have a sitter and didn’t want to miss the occasion?
-A parent who was hoping for an Obama hug for baby?
PBO is so good with babies… even from afar… she stopped crying lol
:) :)
OK, so let’s call it the Reagan Rule! POTUS never skips a beat!
Love.POTUS.
GOP struggles with ‘Buffett Rule’
By Steve Benen
———————————
Republicans, not surprisingly, disagree, but they’re having trouble coming up with a coherent explanation as to why they disagree. It’s a simple question — why should some millionaires pay a lower tax rate than the middle class — that the right can’t find a simple answer for.
.
.
Greg Sargent’s reaction was the right one: “Really, it continues to amaze that people in positions of real influence could venture something this idiotic with no evident sense of embarrassment.”
.
.
Which brings us back to the original point: the Senate vote on the Buffett Rule is next week, and Republicans still need an argument to explain why people like Mitt Romney should pay a special, lower tax rate than the middle class.
———————————-
http://www.thedailybanter.com/2012/04/mitt-romney-is-the-most-cynical-republican-candidate-ever/
Then we should start calling it the Reagan-Buffett Rule, increase taxes on the very wealthy because they want to be patriotic and pay more during these tough times.

This band is doing Adele!!
In other words, they hope nobody is listening.
And, How About does zombey support scott walker repealing the Equal Pay Law for Women?
Is this all they got?
That was powerful when he said that prosperity has never trickled down, but has risen from the middle class to others. He’s said that before about small businesses being the ones who are innovative and creating jobs. it’s a message that people really need to hear. The more they hear it the more it will sink in. It’s helpful when we can point out to people that rich people are funding the opposition to President Obama because they want to keep the money they have and get more. And President Obama is also pointing out to people that the cost of the rich not paying their fare share comes out of the pockets of the middle class and from programs that help American’s.
I have Republican senators and representative. I’ve called them about the Buffet rule, but it is my PLEASURE to call them again to support President Obama.
He’s doing a wonderful job as president. Thank you, President Obama!
This is not a religious site: Gratefulness.org. You can light a candle for prayers or good thoughts for President Obama. I’m lighting one for success for passage of the Buffet rule.
http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=PBO
Obama/Biden 2012!!!!
What he is really saying, and I wish he would put it in these specific words is “the job creators are not the 1%, but the rest of us that go out there and spend money buying goods, creating a demand for more jobs.”
http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entries/condoleezza-rice-i-dont-know-when-immigrants-became
Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice at Duke University on Tuesday said the U.S. needs to return to the mindset that America is a place of free markets and free people, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
“That immigrant culture that has renewed us … has been at the core of our strength,” she said. “I don’t know when immigrants became the enemy.”
Really? She’s a Republican. She couldn’t figure out that the party absent of ideas, had to demonize immigrants for taking jobs away from hardworking Americans???!!! Ask your party, Condie!
When the HELL did we STOP being free people? The only policies that have reduced some of our freedoms, i.e. to vote, peacefully assemble, and to be searched were those polices of the GOP. If enterprise is so “Free” why the hell did we have bail out the Banks and Auto companies? Suddenly these enterprises go looking for Govt bailouts and suddenly the Govt becomes the enemie.

ROMNEY MOVES THE ARGUMENT TO DEMOCRATIC TURF
Rubber, glue, and the ‘war on women’
By Steve Benen
————————————-
And finally, the campaign’s strategy is familiar, but misguided. In recent weeks, Romney has gone to almost comical lengths to identify his faults and project them onto President Obama. Romney wants to end Medicare, so accused Obama of wanting to end Medicare. Romney is trying to keep his proposals secret until after the election, so accused Obama of wanting to keep his proposals secret until after the election. Romney has two post-grad degrees from Harvard, so he accused Obama of spending too much time at Harvard. Romney is an out-of-touch elitist, so he accused Obama of being an out-of-touch elitist.
Rachel calls this Romney’s “I’m rubber, you’re glue” tactic.
But this new tack is especially odd since it moves the argument to Democratic turf. Dems are eager to talk about the “war on women,” and Romney is inadvertently making their job easier, in part by endorsing a far-right agenda, and in part by validating the underlying rhetorical frame.
Should the 2012 race come down to which candidate is more committed to protecting women’s interests? Is that really what Romney wants?
————————————-
http://maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/04/11/11140876-rubber-glue-and-the-war-on-women
Once again, Romney shoots himself in the foot. He keeps harping on about Pres. Obama destroying job opportunities for women yet when his camp was asked about Romney’s position on the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act which basically boils down to women being paid the same as men for doing the same work, Romney and his team said “We’ll get back to you on that.” Dumb move. Dumb dumb dumb move. This dude really is a moron.
He also needs to be asked about the repeal of the Wisconsin Fair Pay Act last week….
