And finally, the campaign’s strategy is familiar, but misguided. In recent weeks, Romney has gone to almost comical lengths to identify his faults and project them onto President Obama. Romney wants to end Medicare, so accused Obama of wanting to end Medicare. Romney is trying to keep his proposals secret until after the election, so accused Obama of wanting to keep his proposals secret until after the election. Romney has two post-grad degrees from Harvard, so he accused Obama of spending too much time at Harvard. Romney is an out-of-touch elitist, so he accused Obama of being an out-of-touch elitist.
Rachel calls this Romney’s “I’m rubber, you’re glue” tactic.
But this new tack is especially odd since it moves the argument to Democratic turf. Dems are eager to talk about the “war on women,” and Romney is inadvertently making their job easier, in part by endorsing a far-right agenda, and in part by validating the underlying rhetorical frame.
Should the 2012 race come down to which candidate is more committed to protecting women’s interests? Is that really what Romney wants?
Hahahahahahahahahahaha…….that looks like the insane always high banana who’s always stripping, getting naked, by whipping off his outer yellow skin and shaking his ass like he’s a stripper from the Cartoon Network series entitled Regular Show.:lol:
She’s is very weird and that smile on her face looks wolfish. She also looks like she’s preening for the camera, asking people to look at her and not PBO. Well, good luck with that.
I am glad someone else notice that blonde curly hair woman, she acted alittle strange to me. Horny had nothing to do with it. Just long as the Secret Services guys are close by. I don’t care how dog gone good you might think the President look, there is a way to act, to carry yourself. To behave.
Unfortunately, I can’t access the videos from work, but I am thrilled to see PBO talk about reagan. There were a lot of Dems who were upset when he brought up Reagan in the 2008 primary campaign, saying he was agreeing with Reagan’s policies, which he wasn’t.
Now there will be a lot of republicans crying “Foul” that he is bringing up Reagan to justify his policies now. The Republican Party has been worshipping at the idol of Reagan for 30 years, but the worship an image not the reality. As PBO said last week, Reagan couldn’t win a Republican primary now.
There are still a lot of Reagan Democrats out there, who really were independents who were caught up in the Reagan charisma. PBO is saying, if you really think Reagan was cool, then turn away from the party that has spurned him. I don’t agree with everything he said and did, but he was also a pragmatic and knew when to do things that were best for the country at times.
Reagan represents for many people a positive view of the economy and foreign affairs. Yes, his accomplishmnets were mostly illusory, but it is the image that counts, not the reality. And he definitely was not some socialist Muslim Kenyan. PBO has already taken over the Reagan legacy in foreign affairs/national defense. The fall of the Soviet Union (which Reagn is given too much credit for) = getting OBL. Now, he working to bring those who thought of Reagan as strong on the economy over. Or at least, prevent them from supporting the Republicans.
Pentagon’s Clean-Energy Initiatives Could Help Troops—and President Obama
By Coral Davenport | Wednesday, April 11, 2025 | 6:04 a.m.
The Pentagon plans to roll out a new slate of clean- and renewable-energy initiatives on Wednesday as part of its long-term “Operational Energy Strategy” aimed at reducing the military’s dependence on fossil fuels while increasing its front-line fighting power.
The moves are in keeping with a sustained push by the military in recent years to cut its dependence on oil, which costs the Pentagon up to $20 billion annually and has led to the deaths of thousands of troops and contractors, killed while guarding fuel convoys in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Some renewable-energy projects at the Defense Department are already paying big dividends. Pentagon efforts to research and deploy products like hybrid batteries for tanks have enabled combat vehicles to travel farther without refueling, while advances in portable solar generation have allowed troops on the front lines in Afghanistan to power housing and electronic facilities without requiring fuel convoys to make dangerous drives through hostile territory to deliver the diesel required for traditional generators.
So, Santorum exits stage right, and we get stuck seeing his press secretary woman all over MSNBC for two days? I’m not a violent person, but I’ll volunteer to wipe that sneer off her face. Let me at her.
I get the impression she is looking for a cable job. She was a local news presenter in Little Rock before going to work for then Governor Huckabee for her start in politics. She is creepy.
All is forgiven, MSNBC, for having that previous guest on. When I saw the pained look on Reince Priebus’ face just now, I un-muted my TV, and heard Thomas whatzhizname shoot down the lies Reince was saying about the Republican war on women. Reince was practically crying, and definitely lost his train of thought. Off to remind myself what Thomas’ last name is so I can tweet him a Yeehaw!
I believe there was a conversation on here recently about Tom Brokard (sp? it’s wrong but I can’t come up with it right now) with a series on military families on NBC. Well, here he is at the White House speaking at the event celebrating military families.
He’s still a jerk and an arrogant blowhard. Everytime he’s on Morning Joe and the Today Show, he only praises the rightwing Chamber of Commerce for efforts to help veterans and completely ignores FOTUS, SLOTUS, and Joining Forces. Plus he always disparages all efforts PBO has made to improve the economy. He overestimates his importance.
VIDEO: Game On: President Obama’s Buffett Rule Versus Bush-Romney
By Sarah Jones
—————————————
George Bush is back to remind everyone that he “dramatically raised the deficit.” Lawrence O’Donnell observed that Bush’s appearance is a huge gift to the President and the Buffett Rule. Meanwhile, Mitt Romney is pushing the same old Bush policies that got us into the mess.
.
.
Mitt Romney is out there trying to sell himself as a businessman who understands the economy and can “fix” it with the same policies (only more extreme) as Bush’s. He’s never answered why it would work under him when it didn’t work under Bush. Nor has he addressed why the economy is getting better, albeit it slowly, under Obama.
Let this serve as a reminder to one and all that you must vote. You must get your friends and family to vote. You must volunteer or make a donation or drive someone to the polls. We all have to get involved, because the mere hint of another Bush term per Mitt Romney is enough to kill hope for good.
Once again, Romney shoots himself in the foot. He keeps harping on about Pres. Obama destroying job opportunities for women yet when his camp was asked about Romney’s position on the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act which basically boils down to women being paid the same as men for doing the same work, Romney and his team said “We’ll get back to you on that.” Dumb move. Dumb dumb dumb move. This dude really is a moron. This is how you lose the women vote. Well done Etch-A-Sketch.
He’s making a deadly mistake, which is fine by me. Since the beginning of PBO’s term polls have consistently shown that most voters, even this deep into PBO’s presidency, still correctly blame W. for the recession so if Williard is dumb enough to keep mentioning how women have lost jobs in the recession, most people will blame Bush and Republican policies not PBO.
Now where have I heard a response like that before. Ah yes, I remember….
Couric: But can you give me any other concrete examples? Because I know you’ve said Barack Obama is a lot of talk and no action. Can you give me any other examples in his 26 years of John McCain truly taking a stand on this?
Palin: I can give you examples of things that John McCain has done, that has shown his foresight, his pragmatism, and his leadership abilities. And that is what America needs today.
Couric: I’m just going to ask you one more time - not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation.
Palin: I’ll try to find you some and I’ll bring them to you.
Isn’t that remarkable ut? Just imagine what would happen if some real journalism broke out around the country and Mitt Romney and his campaign were actually challenged when they made outlandish claims or outright lies. It shouldn’t be that hard for journalists to do some basic homework on the issues. Romney has been banking on reporters not challenging him. We’ll get back to you on that makes them sound like real amateurs. That’s what knee jerk criticism of President Obama will do to you. They just didn’t think it through.
I have noticed that Mitt Romney likes to do his lying, distoring and making stuff up in town halls, op-eds, ads, and speeches. I have not seen a lot of press conferences. He mainly does interviews on right wing radio and Fox where he is joined at the tonsils with the host. They smooze before the interview and then toss him softball questions.
I am anxiously awaiting Mitt Romney’s “Katie Couric” interview. An interview where he is asked tough questions and not allowed to respond with canned talking points and spin. I know, I know the likelyhood of this happening is remote. But this incident where the campaign was asked about the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act may be a watershed moment. It crystalizes what is wrong with the Romney candiacy. We need to see more of this. If the feckless media just did the basics of reporting the facts the American people would be better informed.
zombey’s out there yapping his lying head off..just begging to be asked about the Lilly Ledbetter Act and he doesn’t even know it. He also needs to be asked about scott walker repealing the equal pay for women law.

Morning PJ!
Wooot!!!! I’m fully awake now!

 Are you sure you’re not describing yourself UT?
Ok Chips, i now have the urge to start dancing in the office
Just don’t dress up as banana before you start, ourmanflint, you’ll get some very strange looks.
I was thinking that would be kind of fun ???? people already look at me with a jaundiced eye
:D
Who is that woman with the long curly hair looking like she’s gonna jump POTUS any minute?!? Where’s Michelle? Watch out lady! LOL!
I saw that. She looked like she was ready to pounce.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought strange things…..
I have an alibi Hachikō, it’s not me - honest!
LOL! You noticed her, too? I’m standing in my neighbor’s kitchen and I showed it to her. She says I’m just jealous. I’m not! I swear! ;-P
(I’m jealous too)
I was talking about her on twitter. LOL give her a break, she’s probably overwhelmed by his presence.
Like you were, little lady? Couldn’t look him in the eyes. Hee heeee!!! Did you get warm all over? LOL. Just teasing you. :-D
/blushing
I can’t blame her!
She’s is very weird and that smile on her face looks wolfish. She also looks like she’s preening for the camera, asking people to look at her and not PBO. Well, good luck with that.
How are you doing Hachiko and how is Tucker?
Hi doll. I am excellent today. I’m healthy, so I’m excellent. :-)
She is also gorgeous.
She is horny too. Dying for some totem pole. Back off lady!
LMAO! “totem pole”….can’t make this stuff up! Love it! She is pretty.
I am glad someone else notice that blonde curly hair woman, she acted alittle strange to me. Horny had nothing to do with it. Just long as the Secret Services guys are close by. I don’t care how dog gone good you might think the President look, there is a way to act, to carry yourself. To behave.

BTW, lovin’ Dr. Biden, as always.

2LOTUS unfortunately doesn’t make much sense. It just looks weird. The Second Lady of the United States is referred to by her name or SLOTUS because it’s easier to understand.

Drugs giant Johnson & Johnson is ordered by a US judge to pay $1.1bn for downplaying the risks involved in taking its anti-psychotic drug Risperdal.
The state of Arkansas sued J&J and its subsidiary Janssen Pharmaceuticals over its marketing of the drug in 2007.
A number of US states have already found the firms guilty of similar charges and fined them accordingly.
Some of these verdicts and fines are currently under appeal.
