Morning Chips and TODobots, it’s Wednesday!:lol:
There’s a lot of missed info this last week or so for me to educate myself on over the next couple of days…rats! How to do this and stay on top of current information?
#IStandWithPresO #PBOsGotThisMitt #NoMittJustNo
BREAKING NEWS: Not to make anyone angry or anything, but I have a couple of questions which I humbly ask our community to ponder today…
POINTS TO PONDER: How does a trending, funny, or smart hashtag focused solely on Mitt (as opposed to our side) promote the President and his administration? Shouldn’t WE push our primary goal to inform and educate by adding relevant info to tweets when we join in the trending (and IMO pointless) hashtags? That way we have ‘fun’ with the wider Twitter community while sharing info that may spread the Obama news and extend our outreach beyond the ‘choir’. [Just saying]
I just looked to the top of the podium. Congrats, PFI! Man, my work is cut out for me. Looks like I’ll really have to do a lot of warm-up exercises!
VC - I’ll try to stick with your concept of only using hashtags that focus on the President, and not that dimwitted Willard. Good idea, from my viewpoint. Sometimes it just “feels good” to mock him, but - you are right - we should be focusing on PBO. I’ll try.
Hey, JO’B, I’m not ruling out mocking altogether, especially if you get some fun out of it. ;);) [Yes, I am a staid party-pooper, yet I readily admit the world is a more interesting place because of its variety.] What I AM advocating is to strategically ADD an informative fact to the mocking tweet whenever you can comfortably do so. Since these kinds of hashtags tend to trend rather quickly, reaching out beyond the ‘choir’ so to speak, it seems a way to spread little bits of facts/videos/etc. to a wider audience (which is after all one of OUR media goals).
Mitt has yet to realize that Democrats like success just fine, especially when it’s packaged in a likeable, thoughtful, caring, unselfish wrapper.
We have a FIRST Family with whom I can identify, one whose success causes pride in America. youtube.com/watch?v=OLei-F… #JobIsFilledMitt move along— Vick C. (@sonamie) July 25, 2025
In the words of my father, ‘Ain’t that the truth?’ And this kind of success is particularly pretty IMO because it wasn’t handed down, didn’t pauperize anyone and hasn’t forgotten its roots.
EXCLUSIVE: Romney Bundler A Registered Foreign Agent For Hong Kong
Newly released lobbyist bundler disclosure records filed by the Mitt Romney campaign show that Tom Loeffler raised at least $17,500 in bundled contributions for the campaign over the first six months of 2012
snip/
Loeffler has a long history of raising money for Republican presidential candidates. In 2008, Loeffler stepped down from his position as a national finance co-chair for John McCain’s campaign when Newsweek discovered that he had lobbied on behalf of Saudi Arabia. But Romney’s campaign has welcomed him back into the campaign fundraising fold.
Romney’s campaign, while being highly critical of China and the Obama administration’s approach to it, has organized campaign fundraising events in Hong Kong for U.S. citizens living there. He has also come under fire for apparently profiting from Bain investments in a company that provides surveillance cameras for the Chinese government to spy on its own citizens.
Loeffler is the second lobbyist bundler for the Romney campaign identified by ThinkProgress as a registered foreign agent: in January, the Romney campaign disclosed bundler Ignacio E. Sanchez — a registered foreign agent for both the United Arab Emirates and a birther presidential candidate in the Dominican Republic. Romney has not voluntarily disclosed the names of his campaign bundlers, but a 2007 law requires that federal candidates disclose the names of any registered lobbyists who bundle large amounts for their campaign.
By contrast, President Obama does not accept campaign contributions donated or bundled by federal lobbyists or foreign agents and has called for a ban on bundlers lobbying. His campaign voluntarily discloses all of its major bundlers, as did Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and President George W. Bush (R) in their 2000, 2004, and 2008 races.
I guess he’ll be cheering Hong Kong at the Olympics, too. What a POS. This needs to get out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me just say that PBO was right…CU has opened the flood gates, so that now, even foreign govts can BUY our elections. He got a lot of flack for saying that…but, as usual, he was right! This stinks to high heaven!!

FLOTUS should make this part of her stump speech. “We like it here” is so real and moving. I just love this family!

Been really busy at OFA. I’ve been making calls to get volunteers out for the Weekend of Action coming up. I may not be able to attend so I’m doing my bit for “It Takes One”. I hope most of you can find a place in your area to volunteer this weekend. The campaign really, really does need YOU ;)
Now I might take some heat for this but I’m not a fan of this ad by our Super PAC. I guess I’m a wuss when it comes to the Olympics. I really love the Olympics. I think its the one time that the World unites as one and the opening and closing ceremonies are when we all cheer for each other. I love seeing the countries march in with so much pride. I get what they were trying to say but it came across to me as making a mockery of those countries. JMO and I’m sure others will disagree. I love our campaigns Firms ad but this is the first one by either the PAC or us that I’ve seen where I have to say, not so much.
YES it does, particularly if you live in a red state! Don’t just concede it to the repubs because there is bound to be a handful of democrats there somewhere longing for help and company as they try to have THEIR say.
Morning Briefing: Romney Bundler Involved In Valerie Plame Leak Scandal
Lobbyist Richard Hohlt, a bundler for Mitt Romney’s campaign, was the “go-between” for Karl Rove and the late Bob Novak in the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame, Politico reports.

From now on, whenever the wh press hacks raise question by stenographing mittbot’s talking points, both the prez and Jay Carney should simply say, ‘we will answer that question when the governor answers the valid and reasonable questions about his tax-returns’.
I am not sure that Jay Carney can say that unless he is asked a direct question on Mittens’ tax issues. Jay Carney is Not in the political wing….he is in the operational side for governance.
Suggest that to the Chicago Team…..their political operational team.
Didn’t the wh spox under shrub like dana and other bespectacled whatshisname guy politicize their roles all the time ? If the hacks are gonna parrot mittbot, then they themselves have politicized it and deserve to be paid back in the same coin.
Yes, for the cause, but we still must resist the urge to be like “them,” even though they deserve a kick in the pants each and every day. Plus, PBO is held to a higher standard ON EVERYTHING.
There is, however, a happy balance where we can still rub their faces in it, I’m sure.
Yes, they did. However, in the ERA of pres Obama, West is East, North is South and Up is Down.
There is nothing with making the suggestion. It is up to you. Your action and those of Us who chime me, should make suggestions where it is More Bankable.
Jay Carney is always saying to reporters, that many of their political questions should be directed to Chicago.
Mornin’ - and, yes, as to what Romney’s cronies are doing to themselves, in a circular fashion, I agree they should let ‘er rip! All of their ideas have already been discounted tenfold - they just fail to believe any of us are wise to it.
When the shit hit the fan her ass got on tweeter and started apologizing and crying about she didn’t mean to offend anybody. Then the Olympics sent her ass packing.
Good post at Booman regarding the quote concernign PBO not understanding the Anglo=Saxon heritage: “We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and [Romney] feels that the special relationship is special. The White House didn’t fully appreciate the shared history we have.”
Well it appears the following was in a KKK recruitment flyer from the 60’s: “people of other backgrounds simply cannot comprehend the Anglo-Saxon principle”
Raed the whole thing http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2012/7/25/101318/704
Okay! So, this is what Chuck Todd said about His own Poll!
He showed last month Voter Id and the Democrats were slightly more this month(no explanation)!
Then, he said, so the lead is not 6 it’s actually 2 or 3 points.
You all get that? Chuck Todd is dissing his own Internals!
Why the change in sampling? If what Chuckie Todd is saying is factual….it is their poll and why would Dems say that pres knock the president on Negativity and on poor performance on the economy since Romney Has not produced anything on How to right the USA economy now? They spin so hard to look more desperate, while all their pimping for Romney has NOT worked.
Pres Obama is known and like, love of not, he is Not SECRETIVE. Romney is.
Cluck Toad has mental issues and emotional issues. He is upset because he knows that Willard is a lost cause and that there is nothing that he can do about it. Nothing he does works. He needs to go to work as a construction worker to get some of that tummy off of him and also to know what it is like to work in a real job.
They can only get worse, Bill, because the more people know R-money, the less they like him. He’s like the neighbor who looks clean cut and okay at first, but ends up being a deceitful, bigoted little worm who annoys the heck out of you.
When i saw this post. I felt i had to write something. I am a African American single mother of 3 boys. Unemployed. I have recently seen all 3 of my sons graduate this year. My oldest for North eastern university with a d degree education, my middle son from high school and my youngest from middle school. Do to the president efforts on extending unemployment i was able to afford all of the expenses for these events. I also benefit from the increase in Pell grants for my middle son to attend college. He will be attending Lane College in Jackson Tennesse. A HBCU that Pres Obama increased federal grants for HBCU . The cost of the college is 17,000 a year. he receieved half of that in grants and a 3000 scholarship for football. I just learned that his fathers job have a grant program for employees that have first time college student for a 1000 dollars. President Obama Pell grant fight and contributions to HBCU my son would not have the opportunity to attend. As a Parent im in such appreciation for what President Obama has done. So when i here any one say, what has he done i smile and say. He has helped my family . I am so blessed and appreciate the policy he implemented to help families. Please Seek the help he has provided you will find that this President really has the back of the poor and middle class. I just had to share my story. I will have the honor of taking my son to college in August!
Good for you, Redbird. It’s to everyone’s credit to have a well educated population- on so many fronts: economic growth, national security, health and well-being. This is good use of tax dollars, because it will come back to all of us in so many ways. Living in a civilized society means that there should be more opportunities for more people. I wish you and your son all the best!
Redbird, congratulations. What a great achievement to be raising three fine sons. I know they will do you proud in your life. Our president has done so much to enrich our lives and make stories like yours possible. The more than R-money tries to undermine and insult our president, the more hated he himself will be.
redbird - I can see your story included as one of the 10 such accounts that are passed to the President to read every day, to help him keep in touch with what is working, even more. Have you sent it to the White House? Just a thought.
Dear redbird - that is a wonderful story. You should be very proud that your sons will have a chance at an education. I’m very happy for you and glad that the President has helped your family in a positive way. Education is still the best way out - PBO understands that because he lived it. Good luck to you and the boys.
Thank you! Im still in awe , Ive telling other parents abt the educational grants expansion suggesting that they take advantage of what he is offering to help.
Hi JoJo, just found you in pending - have no clue why that happened, although your gravatar was different so it looks like the blog picked you up as a new visitor. Should be okay now.

Not yet. We wait with abated breath. But I was thinking, if the President is Kenyan because his father was born in Kenya, wouldn’t Romney be considered Mexican because his father was born in Mexico?
Cluny, the hearing will take five to six days, according to our local paper, so it will be a loooong wait. Depending on the ruling from the Commonwealth Court, it will be taken to the PA Supreme Court. All I want right now is a “stay.” There are too many changes in the voting law for people to grasp and adapt to-many don’t even know about the ID requirements. I want a judge with a modicum of common sense to say-hold your horses and give people more time to absorb this law, which will make it inapplicable to the Nov. 6 elections..
Romney Camp Holds 24 ‘We Did Build This’ Events Today
Mitt Romney has arrived in London for his overseas trip. But his campaign today is holding 24 events hitting back at President Obama’s “you didn’t build that” line. The events will be held in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Virginia, Ohio, Iowa, Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Mexico and Nevada.
Yes - I’m SO excited (NOT) that tomorrow my town is hosting BOTH Governors Jindahl and Donnell (had to look him up to see who the hell he was). Yes, these superstars will both appear at the Romney Victory Center here in town. I had to look that up too - apparently it’s a formerly empty space in a strip mall between a Subway and a payday loan joint. I don’t know what time it is, but I think I’m busy then.
Wish you were writin’ the story for your local newspaper! Ha! Loved your phrasing (support Romney and get a high-interest payday loan, right next door, and a tuna sub!).
I don’t know what kind of coverage they will get. I live in Johnson County, Iowa (university town) and we voted 70% for PBO in 2008.
We are sometimes called “The People’s Republic of Johnson County” ;) (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=The%20People%27s%20Republic%20of%20Johnson%20County) -“the nickname refers to the liberal political philosophy of Johnson County, especially in contrast to the surrounding counties and state. Johnson County elects Democratic and/or Liberal candidates in rates uncharacteristic of the state of Iowa.”
Tell Mitt to make sure the business person he is sitting down with aren’t up there claiming they did every thing themselves, but truth be told they got money from the Government. Like Jack Gilchrist.

TOD family, time to twitter bomb this fool and anyone other media whore attempting to brush off this anglo saxon racist controversy. Remember, this is the same press that tied a random cable pundit to the Obama campaign, demanding that POTUS apologize for Hilary Rosen. And yet this same media is saying that this racist comment, made by an actual Romney foreign policy advisor does not matter and has nothing to do with Mitt.
Twitter them all day long. We cannot stand by and let them get away with this. This should be our primary focus on twitter, to make them break down and cover this story.
Chuckles Todd manages to admit on twitter that Latino support for President Obama “remains steady”. Yah, real steady—-67% to 23%. Latinos are not fond of Willard either, same as almost everyone else.
I was hoping to see AF1, as I am currently in a high rise, facing south…. Planes are taking off to the north, so they would have to fly right over…. Lots of little planes, going every which way after take off…. No big beautiful 747’s in sight! :(

Note To WSJ: Romney Didn’t Build The Olympics On His Own
By Media Matters
—————————————-
The Wall Street Journal reported this morning on how Mitt Romney’s stint as CEO of the organizing committee for the 2002 Winter Olympics “remains one of the clearest examples of how he sought to transfer his corporate-restructuring experience to a public institution, a theme that runs through the heart of his challenge to Barack Obama.” Indeed, Romney’s campaign is at the moment singularly focused on criticizing President Obama for touting the role government-funded infrastructure plays in a successful economy.
And that’s why it’s so curious that the Journal’s write-up of Romney’s Olympic tenure omitted any mention of the hundreds of millions of federal dollars Romney secured — and later boasted of — to help fund the 2002 Olympic Games. Romney was so appreciative of the federal contribution that a 2001 Sports Illustrated article quoted him saying: “We couldn’t have done it without them. These are America’s Games.”
Hope you waved for me also. I have been sitting here in Trinidad waiting for my daily fix. Please find a live stream for his arrival in New Orleans please.
Romney’s Five Worst ‘You Didn’t Build That’ Moments
By Henry Decker
———————————
Mitt Romney has spent the better part of two weeks hammering President Obama with his out of context “you didn’t build that” attack, claiming that the remark proves that President Obama is some sort of out of touch socialist.
Unfortunately for Romney, he has had some trouble making the case stick. Several incidents in Romney’s past undermine his attack, and many of the “self-made” businesses that he’s used as props have actually received substantial support from the government. Overall, as Adam Serwer writes in Mother Jones, “If Romney was trying to prove that businesses only succeed on the backs of Galtian ubermensches with no external help, he’s mostly proved the opposite point.”
Here are Romney’s five worst “you didn’t build that” moments (so far:)
“But I’m seriously tired of going on the defensive about this shit. I’m ready to ask who’s “American experience” Romney is referring to. Who are these people who did it all on their own? The truth is - they don’t exist.
What’s going on here is that folks like Romney would like to pretend that they did it on their own so they can pull the ladder out from under the rest of us to make sure no one else gets where they did. The best way to illustrate it is by sharing one of my favorite comic strips.”

To answer VC’s question above, “POINTS TO PONDER: How does a trending, funny, or smart hashtag focused solely on Mitt (as opposed to our side) promote the President and his administration? Because on Twitter, the RWNJ will turn anything they can into a NEGATIVE. So, any positive PBO thing you try to push, will be overrun with the RW Astroturfers turning it into shit.
If you start out with a Negative Mitt thing, it’s harder for them to defend it or turn it into a positive. We’ve already got so much positive, that the entire #Mittiot campaign is about going NEGATIVE on the President. All #Mittiot has is LIES, and NEGATIVE. There is ZERO POSITIVE about him. Nothing wrong with magnifying that x a bazllion.
I say we work on the NEXT BIG MEME: #MITTIOT. It’s short. To the point. Is easily remembered. And it’s AWESOME because it’s TRUE:
Compulsive LIAR #Mittiot Romney can't control himself: LIES about Australian Foreign Minister Carr: heraldsun.com.au/news/world/car… …— Tally Briggs (@bardgal) July 25, 2025
The speech could have been written by wingnut bloggers. The aggressive chest-thumping, the contempt for the president, and the lack of any actual engagement with a complicated, dangerous world where specific and hard choices have to be made: all made this seem like a campaign rally for Christianists and neocons, rather than a guide to the future.
Does Romney really believe, for example, that strong, public rhetorical support from the White House would have helped the Green Movement rather than, as the Greens insisted, hurt them? Does he seriously want to increase defense spending massively, while cutting taxes on the wealthy and cutting the debt? Would he intervene in Syria? Would he have extended our stay in Iraq; and does he want to stay in Afghanistan after 2104? I have no idea from this speech. All I know is that everything Obama has done has been a failure; that he deserves an “F” in foreign policy; and that Russia is our global foe and Iran our darkest threat. But one also senses, as Drezner does, that most of it is cynical domestic base politics:
US Law:You can't LIE re products. It should be ILLEGAL 2 lie about NEWS, POLITICS, & POTUS. wp.me/pUgO9-lt5 CompulsiveLIAR= #MITTIOT— Tally Briggs (@bardgal) July 25, 2025
Jim Webb is voting against raising taxes on the top earners today. Of course he is, a fat job awaits Him next year. See?
Half these Democrats, are not really Democrats…
I believe the more we can reinforce the truth that #Mittiot is a compulsive LIAR and will LIE about every fucking thing in the universe, the less people will want him anywhere near the Oval Office, and understand that anything negative he says about the POTUS, is complete FICTION.

Oh well, everyone have a great productive O’Day!
‘The campaign really, really does need YOU’
YES it does, particularly if you live in a red state! Don’t just concede it to the repubs because there is bound to be a handful of democrats there somewhere longing for help and company as they try to have THEIR say.
HOLY CRAP! MORE BUNDLER MESS!!!
Mitt is palling around with terrorists!
ACA has saved Seniors 4 billion on Prescription drugs-

From now on, whenever the wh press hacks raise question by stenographing mittbot’s talking points, both the prez and Jay Carney should simply say, ‘we will answer that question when the governor answers the valid and reasonable questions about his tax-returns’.
Tweet Jay and suggest that.

Say WHAT?
Morning df and me mates out there in TODville. The term circular firing squad comes to mind here.
Mornin’ - and, yes, as to what Romney’s cronies are doing to themselves, in a circular fashion, I agree they should let ‘er rip! All of their ideas have already been discounted tenfold - they just fail to believe any of us are wise to it.
Cute! I’ve never heard of Parents for Obama before. I think it’s funny they have every category imagineable for Obama.
When the shit hit the fan her ass got on tweeter and started apologizing and crying about she didn’t mean to offend anybody. Then the Olympics sent her ass packing.
What about that Greek triple Jumper?
Se has been kicked out of Olympics, due to Her Comments about Africans.
Wow. That was very enlightening for me. Thx Japa. Tweeted.
I do not see what could make those numbers improve.
Congratulations and very best wishes for your son on his new journey!!
No i have’nt thought abt.
thank you for sharing your story.
Dear redbird - that is a wonderful story. You should be very proud that your sons will have a chance at an education. I’m very happy for you and glad that the President has helped your family in a positive way. Education is still the best way out - PBO understands that because he lived it. Good luck to you and the boys.
Thank you! Im still in awe , Ive telling other parents abt the educational grants expansion suggesting that they take advantage of what he is offering to help.
what is going on?
Hi JoJo, just found you in pending - have no clue why that happened, although your gravatar was different so it looks like the blog picked you up as a new visitor. Should be okay now.
Is the “Anglo-Saxon” comment getting play in the MSM? I have heard very little about it.
Not yet. We wait with abated breath. But I was thinking, if the President is Kenyan because his father was born in Kenya, wouldn’t Romney be considered Mexican because his father was born in Mexico?
does anyone know if there will be anything decided about the pensylvannia voter suppression thing today?
Cluny, the hearing will take five to six days, according to our local paper, so it will be a loooong wait. Depending on the ruling from the Commonwealth Court, it will be taken to the PA Supreme Court. All I want right now is a “stay.” There are too many changes in the voting law for people to grasp and adapt to-many don’t even know about the ID requirements. I want a judge with a modicum of common sense to say-hold your horses and give people more time to absorb this law, which will make it inapplicable to the Nov. 6 elections..
Exactly.
TPM Livewire
It’s a fun place to be a PBO fan.
A great oasis!
Good, now Team Chicago can show that those 24 companies that they didn’t build those companies by themselves. These fools never learn.
First thing I thought of, too, Don. Dolts.
Tell Mitt to make sure the business person he is sitting down with aren’t up there claiming they did every thing themselves, but truth be told they got money from the Government. Like Jack Gilchrist.
You certainly do your part, every day, ut, to break down these messages and get ‘em out there. Thank you.
I feel as if PBO is gone from Seattle. The air space was very quiet, now planes are flying again…. My heart is with him, and with all of you whose hearts are with him! {{{{{{Chips}}}}}}
Did POTUS leave early? Iwas hoping for a live stream
I was hoping to see AF1, as I am currently in a high rise, facing south…. Planes are taking off to the north, so they would have to fly right over…. Lots of little planes, going every which way after take off…. No big beautiful 747’s in sight! :(
No, no, I was wrong, I just saw the plane, waved madly while filming! Ooh ooh, make my day!
Pamela, that had me totally grinning! You go! :)
CBS had the live stream. He had more of a spring to his step this morning. Livelier trot up the steps. Jay Enslee (running for governor) met with him there.
Cool!

Hi Pamela,
Hope you waved for me also. I have been sitting here in Trinidad waiting for my daily fix. Please find a live stream for his arrival in New Orleans please.
I can send Chips my video..

Smartypants on Willard’s BS:

Shouldn’t WE push our primary goal to inform and educate by adding relevant info to tweets when we join in the trending (and IMO pointless) hashtags? That way we have ‘fun’ with the wider Twitter community while sharing info that may spread the Obama news and extend our outreach beyond the ‘choir’. [Just saying]”
Romney’s Foreign Policy Debut
By Andrew Sullivan
—————————-
The speech could have been written by wingnut bloggers.

Jim Webb is voting against raising taxes on the top earners today. Of course he is, a fat job awaits Him next year. See?
Half these Democrats, are not really Democrats…
Never liked Jim Webb. Glad he is leaving Congress.
Heads up for VP Biden:

I believe the more we can reinforce the truth that #Mittiot is a compulsive LIAR and will LIE about every fucking thing in the universe, the less people will want him anywhere near the Oval Office, and understand that anything negative he says about the POTUS, is complete FICTION.
just had a lunch meeting and the restaurant had tee-nn on. an ad for mittbot’s upcoming butt-kissing fest, or i mean “interview” on piers morgan show comes on saying, “he saved the olympics…how will he save the country…” he didn’t “save the f-ing olympics!! and notice how subtly they write it as “will save the country” while referencing and showing r-money. the amount of pro-republican propaganda we have to fight literally every second of every day is just amazing. forward!!!!
That mutherrrfkkin SMUG*SS ARROGANT PissMorgan gives me a pain I can’t describe. he needs to GO AWAY. I wish him well! But AWAY. FAR AWAY.
OK
