Okay, showing up on time for this speech! Can’t afford to miss two in a row.
Yay!
Thanks Chips. Don’t know if I get to be first, but hellooo everyone. :)
President Obama is speaking now.
Has started.
http://www.cbsnews.com/liveFeed/widget.shtml
A million thanks Sharon, & JER!
Wait…didn’t someone say on the last thread that Knoller said no one even notice the President was at the bar/resteraunt.
Yes, that was his insinuation in his tweet. Guess he was wrong——again.
someone should tweet him those two pictures…..he is such a punk !
I’ve been lurking for over a year. I live in Ireland and I am a big fan of PBO. Well done Chipstick on the great job you are doing on this site and for a darling President who is loved around the world. I really hope American people give this exceptional man four more years to continue with the great work that he started four years ago. Forward America!!!
Welcome jummyfgeroge!!!
Welcome jummyfgeorge! Glad to have you on board.
Thanks a million for dropping in jummyfgeorge, and for the lovely message. Irish people get special treatment here, so pull up a golden chair! Thanks again.
‘Irish people get special treatment here’
BTW, Chips, did I ever tell you that I have Irish connections? My uncle’s first cousin’s wife’s elder brother was from Moneygall. May I have my special treatment now… what is it?
“My uncle’s first cousin’s wife’s elder brother was from Moneygall”
Huh, nice try VC - no special treatment until you show your Moneygall ancestors’ birth certs. :???:
O ho! I’ll get back to you, Charlie. Long form, short form or business card size? /wonder if Staples Business Depot has any ‘Irish’ letterheads or seals/
TO THE IRISH!
To the Irish! /clink of glasses/
Welcome:)!
welcome! thanks for supporting the global human treasure that is President Obama.
Please join in the re-election fight ANY way you can given what you love all are able to do creatively and practically (electronically, person-to-person education and registration, sending prayers (if this is a personal option), sending encouragement to PBO volunteers and staff etc.
we need all hands on deck to send these extreme rightwing radicals out of our political space for a long time
Welcome jummyfgeorge - speak up more often! You clearly have wonderful things to say… :)
Thank you so much Jimmyfgeorge for supporting our President. I just loved the way the Irish people received President Obama when he came to visit your beautiful country. I wish many of us in America would pay attention to your views about the President. It’s plainly obvious that many people in Ireland, and in many other countries for that matter, love and respect President Obama. It’s also the case that President Obama loves and respects people from other countries. Many of us who support President Obama are determined to work as hard as we can to make sure he is re-elected. The United States cannot afford to squander the goodwill President Obama has generated abroad; and especially from strong allies like Ireland.
You *do* realize, I hope, that there are about 10 times as many Irish people in the US of A as there are in Ireland ?
It’s started! Go to the CBS link!

thanks dotster.. I woke up just in time :)
thank YOU to every kind soul who hugged me & said sweet things about my ‘spill’ this morning, I am so touched by this. I really just wanted to put in perspective how good it is to be reminded what good fellow humans are out there whenever we see President Obama. All of you proved my point by being so thoughtful to me ~ again thank you. I took a wee nap w/ ice paks & do feel physically better now too :)
And yes I did call the store soon after it happened to let them know… and asked them to please instruct their employees how to react to someone who gets hurt in their store. I will probably fill out & incident report tomorrow just to be on the safeside & have my doc check it out asap.. I don’t fall as flexibly as I used to ;) and thus not feeling quite up to par yet- however I did damn near do the splits before landing on my knee! :)
Good for you. You really need to do that:) So glad that you’re feeling a bit better. Take good care…..and a big hug!
Can’t believe no one helped you up. What’s wrong with people? Thankfully, there are many more who are decent than not. They were just not at your grocery store this a.m. They should be ashamed.
Glad you are feeling better. So sorry no one helped you. That was just plain wrong.
((((((((( Please take care, sherijr , and rest)))))))))))))HZ
sherijr - Just wanted to add some “good cheer” and a hug from me, too, to the other good wishes you received. Unbelievable. We all know who the “better person” was in that crowd = you!
It’s started Squarepeg!

Couple of reactions to Ryan’s lying about how quickly ran a marathon. It wasn’t a slip of the tongue; it’s a persistent story for him. Looks like he’s battling sibling rivalry (and remember one of his older brothers used to work for a Bain Capital company).
Here’s Ann’s horse:

Woah….started really early. Caught a few wonderful minutes of it despite being lost in the kick-ass world of Harry Potter.
“…..despite being lost in the kick-ass world of Harry Potter.”
  You’re a hoot, UT!!!!!
My daughter is a Potter FREAK! She knows all the lines…of EVERYONE:)
Hi my name is ISONPRIZE and I’m addicted to Pres. Obama. I just listened to him live at Morningside College after listening to the tape that Chica posted. Listening to pretty much the same ‘stump’ speech, and yet I listened to him LIVE like I never heard him before.
I really am addicted y’all. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!
It’s the safest, healthiest, most nutritious addiction you can have, ison :D :D :D
Bobfr. You are officially an enabler!! LOLOLOL And for that, I am happy!
A role I’m particularly proud :D :D
Hi ISONPRIZE, my name is Sheri… and I too am an addict, I listen as if its my first time hearing him also… and never fail to feel good hearing him. Its a good thing: Obama Addiction
Ok, sheri, It IS WAY better than Obama Derangement Syndrome (ODS). That’s what I call folks who were for policies and plans, but are now against those same policies and plans, just because PBO supports them.
oh way better!! :)
Isonprize, you are not alone! I listen to all the President’s speeches posted here and elsewhere. Sometimes I listen to them twice to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Lately, I am doing the same with VP Biden’s speeches. May be I am biased, but I think President Obama and VP Biden are two of the most genuine leaders to occupy their respective offices in my lifetime. I was a teenager (15 years) when JFK was elected and I can’t say that I honestly understood what was going on; but I’ve keenly observed Presidents and VPs since LBJ and Hubert Humphrey.
I know some of us may be a bit annoyed when PBO starts his speeches early. But trust! It’s a great relief to the people who’ve been waiting for hours and HOURS. I’m happy for them, because they didn’t have to wait any longer!!!
Absolutely! It’s so tough to wait in large crowds, and especially on hot days. I am glad the President pays more attention to the people waiting for him to speak than he does on the schedules of the mainstream media.
I love it! Obama is getting out in front of the people while Mitt Romney is doing what? I’ve noticed Obama holds way more rallies than Romney and he’s set to hold on Friday with Biden in New Hampshire after locking up the Democratic Nomination! I think this is great. I think Main Street campaigning works far better than what Romney is doing and I believe it will be the difference in November.
rachel talked about this on Friday. R&R are pretty much taking the weekend off.
On top of everything, Mittens is a lazy bastard who hope Adelson/Rove/Koch Bros. will buy him the election and he doesn’t have to doa god damned thing.
A minor miracle is occurring tonight: my life-partner/common law wife/soul mate is…. COOKING DINNER!! So all I have to do is go home, fix a drink, and savor it.
Now if this damned heat would just end…
this is for you, l.l.-just to add to your day’s pleasure!
‘ A Chicago-area woman wanted to return an overdue copy of “The Picture of Dorian Gray” to the Chicago Public Library, but first she wanted to be sure she wouldn’t go to jail.
That’s because the book, a rare limited edition of the Oscar Wilde novel, was checked out in 1934. Harlean Hoffman Vision found it in her late mother’s possessions, with a Chicago Public Library stamp. ‘

Oh my god, it’s a freaking Seinfeld episode!
Just know…you have to drink A LOT when it’s hot like that:)
Hell, I have no plans for tomorrow except for doing laundry. Can do that with a hangover :-)
What’s on the menu tonight, LL? Drinks and food, of course.
Meatloaf, mashed taters, and veggie succotash
Sounds very comforting - bon appetit!
You do know that meatloaf sandwiches rule … so I hope she (or he) made lots! I made two last Sunday, just so we’d have meatloaf sandwiches for days!
Oh man, I love this man! Look at those huge crowds! I LOVE it!! Let’s make this the most watched convention ever and let’s GET OUT THAT VOTE, PEOPLE!!! Wherever you are, please please please get out there and work for our President. We need him to be re-elected!
Indeed - make sure everyone you personally know is registered - especially those who have gotten married, or moved recently. Also - help them get the facts of the consequences of this election: Supreme Court, women’s rights, civil rights, economic recovery, war, veterans affairs, education, the environment, and the soul of America.
I am eagerly now awaiting to see Romney’s 100s of supporters in his speeches. So far nearly the whole crowd is white, while with Obama’s 15 to 20 thousand or so you have every race at his speeches.
And it’s not so much that Willard’s crowd is mostly white. It’s the looks on their faces: pinched, angry, foaming at the mouth. They’re like Bund rallies supporting the Nazis in the 1930s.
That’s it exactly.
Robney just said- peace on the Planet depends on Novembers election.
-/
Twisting it the other way around, to confuse People. One big mind phuck!
geez—-it sounds like he’s getting close to declaring “you will die if you vote for Obama”. This is the most dishonest, unethical, most down is up, up is down campaign I have ever witnessed.
Where is he today, I want to see the crowd size.
I think Ohio.
Jovie-What’s the real story on Democratic registrations in Florida. I thought OFA was registering a lot of people, but the someone on an earlier thread said that our registrations were low. Do you know what’s going on?
…Says the guy who wants to declare war on Iran, Syria, Russia???
I hope Ex-President Clinton reminds people in his speech that “IF THE OTHER SIDE NEEDS TO SCARE YOU INTO VOTING FOR THEM, MAYBE YOU NEED TO ASK YOURSELF - WHY?
That sounds like code for riot/martial law action.
Wait, what? Did I miss the speech? Was it a whole hour early? WWwaaaahhhhhh.
While he’s there, PBO is doing 5 local TV interviews in Iowa!!
He could do 5 interviews with two hands tied behind his back! After a couple beers in Iowa!
YeeHaw!!

President Obama’s administration is telling states with public transportation systems to get ready for more oversight from the federal government.
Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Federal Transit Authority (FTA) Administrator Peter Rogoff wrote a letter to the governors of 26 states that have public transportation systems operating in them explaining new authority given to the federal government to regulate transit agencies by the recently approved $105 billion surface transportation bill.
“Under MAP-21, we’re ushering in a new era for transit safety, and we are committed to working with our state leaders to strengthen and help fund robust state safety oversight agencies to carry out this vitally important mission,” LaHood wrote. “Public transit remains one of the safest ways to travel in the U.S., and we intend to keep it that way.”
The change LaHood was touting gives the federal government power, for the first time, to do more than tie safety requirements for public transportation systems in the United States to future funding. Previously, transit systems were primarily overseen by the local and state governments that appropriated their money for them.
Rogoff said having a national set of standards would make public transportation more safe for riders across the country.
“We are closing a loophole in how transit safety oversight is regulated and enforced that is long overdue,” Rogoff said. “For the first time FTA will be able to establish basic safety standards to better ensure the safety of tens of millions of passengers that ride public transportation each day.”

This article is a Good example- I like reading about what the government is doing.
What happened to all the reasonable Republicans that used to value serving the people, irrespective of ideology, that way Ray LaHood does?
Good evening Family! I hope everyone’s doing well today.
Once again I’ve missed so much today, it looks almost impossible to catch up, but I’ll give it a try. Great to see the pictures of huge and diverse crowds at PBO’s speeches. Is it me or are the crowds getting bigger with each event? Okay, so I’m off to go catch up at least on the videos in the previous posts.
I’ve noticed the jump in crowd size, too. Almost overnight!
Darn it! I missed ANOTHER ONE! The insurance adjuster was here…talking and talking…and playing with the dog….and talking….and then he made me climb the ladder! I HATE HEIGHTS!
Hmmm..is “climb the ladder” a euphamism for something we would find in Penthouse Letters? :)
:) lol…you are baaaaad!
More on Obama’s speech in Sioux City. I missed the beginning because of the early start. He was introduced by a Repub for Obama—-a wind energy exec.—-in that conservative county—-smart move.
http://blogs.desmoinesregister.com/dmr/index.php/2012/09/01/at-sioux-city-campaign-rally-president-obama-hits-romney-on-wind-tax-credit-but-makes-avoids-conflicts-over-football/
Chips, everyone … We all know of the #InaugurationInsurgency and the persistent effort, every single day, from 20 Jan 2025 onward to implement that plot as to destroy the Presidency of Barack Obama. We will continue pressing to have those facts known by as many Americans as possible.
However, #BirtherMitt, amidst the ocean of lies he has told since any of us began paying attention to the bully creep, he told one on Thursday that really needs to be exploited. I will forever be grateful to Jon Stewart and his research team for what he exposed yesterday evening …
“Jon Stewart calls “Bull f*$king *&it” on Convention speakers & their fictitious talking points”
http://freakoutnation.com/2012/09/01/jon-stewart-calls-bull-fucking-shit-on-convention-speakers-their-fictitious-talking-points/
“While convincing us that President Obama has destroyed our future, Republicans have also invented a past where they were trying to help him succeed.”
And, here’s the GOLD:
“8 days after Obama was sworn in, Mitt Romney defended Rush Limbaugh’s controversial words in wanting the President to fail.”
And, Jon plays the video!!!! If anyone can find a YouTube of that segment of #BainMitt defending Rush, we can just imagine all the ways it can be woven into very effective attacks on Romney.
I wish somebody would ask Romney to show us, in detailed specifics, how he intends to create 12 million jobs? Surely it can’t all be about giving more tax cuts to the wealthy; or ending Wall Street regulations; or cutting medicare and medicaid and all the programs that serve the elderly and the poor; or by firing public workers. On the last one, only a fool would believe that firing teachers, cops, firefighters, and other public employees would result in creating jobs. Public employees buy food, houses, cars, gasoline, computers, washing machines, clothes, etc. They also pay taxes and pay for their kids education. This notion that you can increase jobs by firing public employees is totally ludicrous.
The reason the unemployment rate remains high has a great deal to do with the loss of jobs by public employees. Republican governors, like Scott Walker in Wisconsin, have played a major role in laying off public employees. The same is true of the Republican Congress which refused to pass the President’s jobs bill aimed at hiring or saving the jobs of cops, firefighters and teachers.

ROMNEY’S FORMER COMPANY UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR TAX EVASION | Bain Capital, the private equity firm founded by presidential candidate Mitt Romney, is under investigation for questionable tax practices, according to the New York Times. Since July, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has been issuing subpoenas to private equity firms including Bain, which he believes intentionally changed management fees into capital gains as a way of hanging onto millions of dollars that would have otherwise been taxed at a higher rate. Bain alone is estimated to have saved “more than $200 million in federal income taxes and more than $20 million in Medicare taxes.” It is unclear whether the tax strategy was used while Romney was at the helm of the company, but the Times reports that Romney is still making money on funds that are using the method in question. A lawyer who handles Romney’s money says he “can confirm that neither he nor the trust has ever done this, whether before or after he retired from Bain Capital.” Still, little is known about Romney’s finances, except that he makes a windfall on capital gains each year, since he has refused to release his tax returns.
The Media will ignore it, because democrats don’t push this stuff.
They won’t be able to….especially if we FORCE THEM TO WRITE ABOUT IT
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/02/business/inquiry-on-tax-strategy-adds-to-scrutiny-of-finance-firms.html?_r=1&hp
Here’s the NYT link…http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/02/business/inquiry-on-tax-strategy-adds-to-scrutiny-of-finance-firms.html?pagewanted=all
Jovie, exactly what should Democrats do to “push this stuff”? Why are you letting the media off the hook for not doing their job properly? I am sorry but I am sick and tired of us blaming ourselves and our party for the failure of the media to do their job. I’ve never heard Republicans blame their party whenever they are dissatisfied with the media. I think we do ourselves a great disservice by continuing to blame ourselves for the media’s failure to report the news truthfully. As far as I am concerned, I think the cowardly U.S. mainstream media is so intimidated by the right wing Republicans and that’;s why the hedge, or try to find false equivalences, when they are forced to report on news that is not favorable to Republicans.
Urbandale Crowd was 10k according to Fure Department. Sioux City Iowa was 2800.
That is pretty good…
We also need to be aware that many of these venues are deliberately smaller. There are always more people that want to see PBO than can fit in these venues.
And no, Mitt, that doesn’t mean you can hold an event in someone’s backyard and say the same thing!
And this: http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/08/31/778371/gop-platform-declares-medicaid-unconstitutional/
Someone on twitter this morning said that they heard a C-Span caller say they were voting for Mitt and Paul because they were going to save Medicaid from going bankrupt. Not sure how they’ll do that, and declare it unconstitutional at the same time…
And of course, all long term care for seniors is through Medicaid. those benefits will evaporate under R&R.
If you’re 30 or 40-something, you don’t think that will affect you? Are you willing to assume the burden of your parents’ and grandparents’ long term care and not be able to buy a house or send your children to college?
And let’s be clear: damn near every senior ends up in long term care at some time. Sure R&R will shove it onto the states but that’s the point: states cannot and do not take care of people uniformly.
THIS AFFECTS EVERYONE, not just the black and brown ‘freeloaders’ that R&R are trying to convince you are taking your stuff.
It is R&R that will take away all your stuff.
What a fun guy! I don’t think he knows anything about “sport”.
:D :D :D
Perfect response!

I love our Golden Girl…..she is so cooooool
She sure is! This what aging gracefully looks like.
people have really had fun with the clint nonsense - guesshe needs to go and sit down somewhere before he gets more jokes made at his expense. guess he missed the song about knowing when to hold…..
Hope lots of people boycott his new movie, too. What a WOS he is.
Winning!

Maybe we’ll get a look at those tax returns now. Wouldn’t it be something if PBO winds up running aainst a criminal. Ha!
As the saying goes: Karma is a bitch! We may indeed soon find out about Mitt’s tax evasions which will explain why he refuses to release his tax returns.
One can only hope.
Even Politico has it, so we might see it in the MSM.
Please Tweet to Lis Smith and Axelrod.
Look up thread, Jovie …. and here’s another one ….
:)
Nice. The Obama Team can push these story lines.
I wish we could somehow get Romney’s taxes on a kind of FOIA process. We have the right to know.
I don’t think that’s how the tax code is written. And, honestly, for good reason.
Yeah, I know, but I find it crazy that he’s able to keep all of his manipulation of the tax code a secret when it would illustrate who much he doesn’t even contribute to our nation. I think it matters to most people.
Oh, I agree, but outing someone’s tax returns is getting into Nixonian territory. Now, if only Harry’s source would go public for the good of the nation.
This is exactly why the Republicans have been desperately trying to bring down Attorney General Eric Holder. Their problem with him is that he is actually doing his job of enforcing the laws. And we know that Jon Kyl was livid that he was actually enforcing the voting rights laws. President Obama and his administration are doing the hard work of governing and it’s freaking out the GOP. I shudder to think that Alberto Gonzalez was once the Attorney General of the United States.

I LOVE Eric Schneiderman! This was mentioned up thread but it is now on the front page of the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/02/business/inquiry-on-tax-strategy-adds-to-scrutiny-of-finance-firms.html?hp
The New York attorney general is investigating whether some of the nation’s biggest private equity firms have abused a tax strategy in order to slice hundreds of millions of dollars from their tax bills, according to executives with direct knowledge of the inquiry….
Among the firms to receive subpoenas are Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Company, TPG Capital, Sun Capital Partners, Apollo Global Management, Silver Lake Partners and Bain Capital, which was founded by Mitt Romney, the Republican nominee for president. Representatives for the firms declined to comment on the inquiry.
It is blowing up twitter!
Because you know for damned sure this didn’t start after Mitt left in 1999, or 2002, or after the Apocalypse.
Exactly, LL, this is how they ran the business …
It appears as though the fecal matter is about to encounter some swiftly rotating blades, hm?
Hmmm, you do know what “apocalypse” means, don’t you (yeah, I know - it’s Greek):
An apocalypse (Ancient Greek: ἀποκάλυψις apocálypsis, from ἀπό and καλύπτω meaning ‘un-covering’)
Well…well so Paul Ryan had a black girlfriend in college….
Will the right wing heads explode over this ?
They’ll use it to prove that ryan loves black people. I hope the press will leave the woman alone as she requested.
They won’t …she will be hounded .
Wasn’t he also voted the biggest brown noser in high school. That is totally believable.
How much do you want to bet it’s another lie….
Here, the push has already begun to pay dividends. More than 50,000 more Democrats than Republicans have requested Iowa absentee ballots, according to Jennifer Jacobs of the Des Moines Register.
Awesome! Key to winning this State!
Excellent!
Love Gov. O’Malley!
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will balance multiple roles at convention
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will be a busy man at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte this week.
His aides have set up scores of media interviews and booked him to speak to several state delegations, including all-important Iowa. He could very well land a coveted prime-time spot addressing the convention.
He’s even bringing his band. O’Malley’s March, the Celtic rock group for which he’s lead singer, has booked two late-night gigs at local bars.
His biggest challenge this week may be to remember that, at this year’s convention, he is a supporting act and not the headliner.
Party conventions have long been target-rich environments for politicians eyeing future presidential races, and O’Malley is among the Democrats widely assumed to be looking at 2016. Thousands of party activists, key donors and political journalists will be on hand for the week.
That provides ample opportunities to make good impressions, provided you don’t overlook the task at hand: in this case, helping President Obama get re-elected.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/dc-politics/maryland-gov-martin-omalley-will-balance-multiple-roles-at-convention/2012/09/01/c90ee15e-f38e-11e1-892d-bc92fee603a7_story.html
Love my gov!
Your governor is a great guy! Right now I am conflicted between him and VP Joe Biden for 2016. As much as I love your governor, It will be hard for me not to go with Joe Biden if he decides to run. I have a feeling that Joe may want to retire. If he does, your governor, Martin O’Malley, will be my number one choice.
Great. He’s going to be wonderful.
O’Malley’s March? I’m in!
He’s really special ….
Sounds fantastic. A voice like his is sorely needed and I’m glad he and his team are ready to speak up.
a bit to share with my TOD family,
earlier today, I was enjoying myself mixing it up with the fellow tailgaters at The Ohio State Univ versus Miami (Ohio) Univ at The Ohio Stadium (AKA The Horse Shoe, AKA The Shoe) when I observed a “mini” convoy with super-high security. Mind you this convoy was “mini” when compared to that of PBO.
Of course, like any self-respecting-gawker, I surged foward to see who was getting out. I swear, the USSS was just a few feet away when I saw the pompus-mean-selfish-liar Paul Ryan come out and start shaking hands with the tailgaters.
I was so ofended by the sight of this mean excuse of a human being that I turned away from where others were trying to take photos and shouted : “there is no way I can take photos of HIM”
I also shouted as loud as I could: ” Waste of time …. Ohio is for Obama “.
I was not even thinking of the USSS detail or the people next to me. I was disgusted by the mean one and I wanted him to know it.
Yep, I am crazy like that when it comes to people who liar and insult PBO
good on you linda… sometimes its just too hard to be silent~
I really despise lying-ryan and as a fellow catholic, I am very asaeGfwa ei rigt ot h oilsft-e.Ihv eeie rmi n ohv epeIko.Frhrmr eiv h wh rtcinsol eteefral oti potnt ruh htalot
linda - I’m a fellow Catholic, too, so I can’t help but kid you - was that last part how the charismatics might express their thoughts on Lyin’Ryan?
sorry for the typos and obvious grammatic errors - blame it on mean ryan
Thank you for shouting that on behalf of all of us!!!!!!!!!!!
you know sometimes you feel you just need to stand up and be counted.
Well, your voice counted for a gazillion supporters who want to see Obama-Biden re-elected, and I am truly grateful!
Good for you! I would have done the same:) Now….to things more important than Lyin’ Ryan…did my beloved Buckeyes win? How’s my school ????
Buckeyes won the game. It was generally happy day and weather was not too bad.
the OSU fans were not harsh with our visitors (family relationships could be at stake here).
I gave “Brutus” himself a high five as he led The Best Damn Band in The Land” into The Shoe and before they went through the tunnel.
Today was the first game under the new coach Mr Urban Meyers.
with the starting over that the Buckeyes are doing, the phrase they are using to celebrate the impact of the new coach Mr Urban Myers is that this season is “Urban Renewal” - this shirt was very popular today
OSU is looking, Gov Strickland had pushed it towards getting more environmentally sustainable and part of that is going on. Lot and lots of construction going on EVERYWHERE. hard to recognize
Thanks for the great update! Love that “Urban Renewal” :) Glad that there is lots of green going on….and they won! Though they BETTER have beaten Miami of Ohio!!!
They’re callous disregard for the effect of their silly and dangerous policies on people - and their greed and audacity in believing they could do the tough jobs of President & VP - make it difficult not to react. I would have been arrested if I was there. Add the fact that they lie without compunction - they are not people with whom I would willingly associate. They are nauseating.
I love the fire in you Linda! That was magnificent! Others might have just huffed in silence, but you spoke up and said exactly what you felt, right in the moment! ” Ohio is for Obama!” — Perfecttion! My hat’s off to you!!
Go girl!

“Early voting and encouraging people to vote by mail, get engaged and involved early has always been a big part of our focus,” Psaki said. “And our investment has focused on building our grassroots campaign, making sure we have staff on the ground to organize neighbor-to-neighbor programs, to get the community leaders involved at an early stage. And in many of these states we’ve had people on the ground since 2008, and that’s where we felt it was important to invest.”
Btw- Jen Psaki is going places. She is very direct and smart.
I think she’s fantastic. The President has surrounded himself with stellar talent. Birds of a feather, and all that…
Indeed! I really like her very much. She is absolutely no nonsense!
Ok, my little Betty White tweet is kinda going crazy. Even had a Naderite expressing his disgust at me. LOL
lol that was almost as funny when McCain announced his endorsement to president Obama right in front of Mitt the Twit.
She is obsessed with President Obama…..so is McCain….
They both should seek therapy…
Trust me..that’s the ONLY smart thing that ever came out of that mouth. EVER

Off-topic: HBO is running a marathon of The Newsroom tonight. Just finished Ep 1; Ep 2 theme song running now.
Thanks for the reminder Dudette. I’m watching with you. I love this HBO series and it is so timely. Sorkin is brilliant. I think Will McAvoy is terrific. I have my moments with MacKenzie. She’s just so hyper.
I agree…MacKenzie is the weak link . I hope they improve her character…
I like her, even though she’s a stinking cheat! I actually like evryone on the show except Wilhemina’s son…….I think that’s Jane Fonda’s characters name….. At first I didn’t like that guy dating that girl that Jim likes. Can’t believe I cant remember their names! I even like Lisa better that I like that girl Jim crushes on. She’s so…… All over the place. Jim should stick with Lisa. And loooove Sloan! I like how she’s supposedly socially awkward and so smart! I love that show, especially Will. I can honestly say that he’s the only republican who doesn’t really exist that I absolutely adore! :)
Don and Maggie ?
I like Sloan also….
Isn’t Chris Matthews son on that show too ?
Yeah, but he’s a side character, seen briefly once or twice an episode. Looks nothing like papa bird.
Jane Fonda’s character is Leona.
Ah! Thanks!
Aaron Sorkin is the archangel of liberal thought (… at least on fictional TV).
And yes, MacKenzie can be a wackadoodle sometimes, annoying but every now and then, it’s a little endearing.
I’m not pleased with this character at all (and EmilyMortimer is a wonderful actress, so it’s in the writing and the general vision of the character).
I have a number of friends who can’t watch the show because of silliness of the writing of the women’s characters and they should be watching the show!
I absolutely love this show and I’m trying to hook as many people as possible in so they can start questioning the job that our media doesn’t do. Off topic, but tomorrow I’m hosting my first phone-bank of the season and I’ve agreed to do it every Sunday until the election.
PAUL RYAN’S BOGUS BUDGET RULES
His first action as Budget Committee chairman proved his reputation as a deficit hawk was a sham
By Andrew Leonard
============================================
The always-cogent Greg Ip reminds us that the very first thing Paul Ryan did after ascending to the position of chairman of the House Budget Committee in January 2011 was to make a key change in the rules governing how the committee approached its business.
One of his first acts in that job was to replace the old Paygo budget rule, which required any new spending increase or tax cut to be offset to neutralize the deficit impact, with “Cutgo,” which applied that condition only to spending. In other words, tax cuts that blow up the deficit were fine.
The new rules immediately made Ryan’s reputation as a “deficit hawk” risible, but when I went back to look at what I wrote about the changes when they happened, I recalled that the scandal went even deeper.

The media pushed the false reputation of Paul Ryan as some budget wizard, when they kept repeating the nonsense about his “bold and courageous” budget, even though it first had no numbers, and then was proven to be devastating to seniors and poor people. After the President smacked down Paul Ryan like the little boy that he is, the media should have wised up, and stopped pushing that meme. Well, Paul Ryan is heading for a correction - he has the debate with Joe Biden to look forward to, and I really wish there were going to be more than one debate.
I’d forgotten about that. Paygo was why ACA was written the way it was (and the deficit reduction never gets any credit).
I cannot stomach Romney’s lying voice much longer. Luckily, every day we hear it is one day closer to the re-election of President Barack Obama! <<< I could listen to PBO's voice all day!
THIS!!!
I was pretty sure I wasn’t the only one, COS!
Me, too!
My sister-in-law, a long time Republican that was totally against PBO, a head of a hospital lab that hated Obamacare, and the wife of my Redneck Brother told me today she wants Obama to win. She said it took her awhile but really likes Obama care and all he believes in about it, how he goes after waste and fraud, and how he is an honest person. She really hates Romney and his lying. Wow, just wow!! I never thought I’d hear her say these things.
You know Obama Grandmama, “No lie can Live Forever!” For example, more and more senior citizens will soon find out that ObamaCare is good for them. It has so far been good for me. I get to have annual cheek up exams for free. Already I am paying less than half of what I used to pay for my asthma medication and other prescription medicine. Also, this year my senior supplemental insurance payment went down more than $50 a month because of the ACA (Obama Care). On top of that, I’ve seen no reduction of my medicare benefits. Pretty soon, Mitt Romney’s lies that President Obama is cutting medicare will be debunked by real personal experiences of the people, like me, who receive medicare.
Excellent news! One voter at a time - and WE THE PEOPLE win!
A LONG List of President Obama’s Accomplishments – With Citations
By Milt Shook

If you’re one of those folks who thinks President Obama is a “disappointment,” you haven’t been paying attention the last few years. And those of you who try to draw comparisons with the Bush Administration should put away the hallucinogens and have your memory checked. If you were in a coma for the eight Bush Years, I apologize and forgive you. But please join the real world. So far, this president has done most of what he said he would do if elected; imagine what he could have done by now if progressives had supported him and not given him a Congress that doesn’t look at him as if he’s the demon seed.
Not only is he NOT a “disappointment,” he’s pretty much the opposite. And no, I don’t just say that because he took out Osama bin Laden, helped Libya determine their own destiny for the first time in a while, and because he seems able to handle international incidents without starting a new war. The guy does nearly everything we elect a president to do, and he doesn’t brag about it constantly.

This was a LOT of work, and should be shared with everyone you know - especially those who are “disappointed” in President Obama, but can’t mention one thing he’s done or hasn’t done. Brilliant!
Wow! As always, Milt Shook did an excellent job highlighting President Obama’s accomplishments. I think most honest historians would agree that President Obama has an impressive record of accomplishments in his first term that can match any of the records of people considered by historians to be great Presidents.
Chips, everyone … a little Saturday night fun … :D :D
Oh, yeah, Joe, I’m ridin’ with ya!
C-Span is running a long line of Democratic acceptance speeches as a prelude to our convention. For anyone who is interested PBO’s 2008 acceptance speech is scheduled to air at 11:05 est tonight. I am anxious to see it on the television again and will DVR it this time!
They did that for the Republicans too…..I saw a bit of Bush 2000…it was awful.
Thanks so much for that heads up!
Schedule change, now showing that it will be at 10:45!
FYI Nate is showing the President with a 73.1% likelihood of winning vs #BainMitt 26.9% if the election were today …
oh my… it is up from earlier today when I checked. It was 72.8 %
And 71% a few days ago.
Thanks for the bounce, R&R!
and it can only get higher after the convention…AND the debates!!!!
DENVER — As President Obama navigates the battleground states that will determine whether he wins a second term, his campaign strategists have unfolded a road map for one in particular. And they are following it closely as the best route to their destination.

Everyone, I tell you PBO is a freaking zen master.
Watching the man’s 2008 DNC speech, promises he made, almost all kept. I am in total awe. I can’t wait to hear him go down that list on Thursday and talk about ALL those promises kept. Wow, just freaking wow.
This is going to be beautiful.
Much love, Chips ((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))
Hey guys! Well! The Chair has broken its silence! PBO’s Chair responds to Eastwood and if you scroll down, there’s a song called ‘Clint Eastwood Talking To A Chair!”
