Happy Thanksgiving Chips and all you wonderful people! Will be busy with kids coming home, but I am so very thankful for this community! Enjoy this precious time with your loved ones!!
Thank you Rita! I taught Montessori pre-school for 13 years in a previous life! Still love love love to see those children, can totally relate to why the very young Light up when PBO is near them! (they see through bulls-t without even trying!)
Is that a good thing? It’s been in Mercury for a while hasn’t it - and there’s been a lot of chaos and craziness. Hopefully, this means some calm?
Sun into Sag is always a good thing, but the ref to Mercury is a bit different…. Mercury is given the constituency of communication, all things to do with sharing info… It moves into apparent retrograde, or moving backwards when viewed from the Earth, for 20-21 days approx 4 times a year. When this retrograde motion is evident, we seem to have everything crashing, nothing seems to go smoothly, appointments and reservations need more juggling. Posts on TOD become very l.o.n.g and w.e.i.g.h.t.y, before a new thread makes it’s way to the rescue! (only kidding Chips ~ that can happen without the Mercury retro!) conversations can be mis-interpreted, etc. The phase ends on November 26th, but can take or two to smooth out and feel normal again. It might be a lot more fun is Sagittarius than it was in Scorpio! Check out http://www.alanoken.com if you have interest in this sort of thing and the interpretation. LUNCH! only 2 hours late today…. Man, I am hungry!
Oh - thanks so much for the info and the link, Pamela! I have to admit, I’m a novice at this astrology stuff, but I find it so interesting and at many times, accurate. I’ll check out the site you referenced. Glad that the Sun in Sagittarius is a good thing! That Mercury stuff sounds tricky…
I’m sitting here and smiling because I know another thrashing is coming Manchester United’s way. Besides Rafa hasn’t been confirmed yet and if he is, then meh. I’ll repeat: “He who laughs last laughs best.”
Hey Sarah Palin, the hopey, changey thing worked out fine. How'd the creepy, derange-y thing go for your side? Akin, Mourdock, West, Walsh..— Bill Clunie (@billclunie) November 19, 2025
Happy Thanksgiving. Just wanted to convey my message to all my TOD blogger friends since I will be busy with family in the next few days. Don’t eat too much or if you do pace yourself.

Just watched the pardoningof the turkey….crazy, funny American ritual. Something nice and light after the seriousness of the past weeks. What brought tears to my eyes was watching him put his arms around his two girls as they walked back into the house. The love comes right through the video. I am SO thankful that we have him and his family for four more years.
Like others have said, I just could not imagine Thanksgiving after a Romney election, but he wasn’t elected. We still have our wonderful PBO, and he and SOS Clinton, the peacemakers, have given the world a better Thanksgiving.
The girls had that teenage look that we have all seen (kill me now; I am too old for this; or I am sooo bored) during this ceremony. Dad, however, was having fun by connecting this event to the election. The girls, however, got it together (especially Malia) when they followed their dad greeting guests and shaking hands.
Funny…..that wasn’t my impression at all. I thought, what poised and lovely young ladies. They like being with their dad, you can feel it, and he is thrilled to have them with him.
The Vice President marked the festival of lights with a closed-press reception for members of the Diplomatic Corps, lawmakers, community leaders…
Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday afternoon celebrated the holiday of Diwali on the White House campus with a reception in the South Court Auditorium of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. The closed-press party for the festival of lights that is celebrated around the globe by Sikhs, Hindus, Jains and some Buddhists wasn’t listed on Biden’s official daily schedule, but a post on the White House blog said guests included South Asian American community leaders, elected officials, entrepreneurs, Administration officials, Members of Congress and members of the Diplomatic Corps. After Biden made remarks to his guests, at the conclusion of the ceremony, as he lit the traditional Diya, an unidentified priest from a local Hindu temple draped a blue shawl around his shoulders. President Obama did not attend the reception, but on Tuesday issued a Diwali greeting.

That’s the firt time I recall seeing the girls go down the rope line, especially Malia. What an amazing graceful young woman she is becoming. She strikes me as being the more serious of the two, with Sasha having that glint of michief in her eyes. I suspect Malia will do great things down the road, although not necessarily in the public eye. And PBO just seemed to be having a good time. I’m sure he is relieved he will be able to enjoy the Holiday with the cease fire.
Chips, I was away for much of yesterday but just wanted to tell you what a thrill it was to see the photos of PBO’s trips abroad late last night. I skimmed them then, and went back to them first thing this morning. I know it takes a lot of work to put those threads together and wanted to thank you for all you do for all of us. You are a treasure!

I’m not even worried, Jovie. These Republicans basically fail at everything they do, other than making noise. They can bluster, but they don’t have a leg to stand on in this fight. Let them proceed.
PAKTIKA, Afghanistan — With less than two years before U.S troops withdraw from Afghanistan, American commanders here are going full-bore to ensure that local military and government officials will be ready to take over once coalition forces leave the country.
On the security side, U.S. troops stationed here at Forward Operating Base Sharana in eastern Afghanistan have almost completely moved from battlefield “owners to integrators,” Army Lt. Col. Scott Thomas told The Hill.

Rita!
Rita!!!!!
Thanks, Chips! I’ve been craving a pic just for me
But I’d like to share this with Pamela and LL, as it looks like a 3-way tie!!
But this is a PERFECT pic. Love children and how they instinctively know that our President is a GOOD man!!
Thank you Rita! I taught Montessori pre-school for 13 years in a previous life! Still love love love to see those children, can totally relate to why the very young Light up when PBO is near them! (they see through bulls-t without even trying!)
Congrats on First Rita! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Sun moves into Sagittarius at 1:20pmPST! let the fun begin!

Tricky is exactly right!
Something Chips is thankful for: Rafa Benitez about to be appointed Chelsea manager.
Something I’m grateful for: he’ll last only 6 months.
Gobble, gobble.
This is a hammer; this is my head; watch as the two meet, repeatedly.
Ah, poor LL!!! Hang on in there, as you said, he’ll be gone in no time at all!
“He who laughs last laughs best.” Keep laughing Chips. Remember what happened to Man U last week after you mocked Chelsea?
Rafa.
I’m sitting here and smiling because I know another thrashing is coming Manchester United’s way. Besides Rafa hasn’t been confirmed yet and if he is, then meh. I’ll repeat: “He who laughs last laughs best.”
……. Rafa.
p.s. Manchester United lost 1-0 to Norwich and yesterday lost 1-0 to Galatasaray. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…..
p.p.s. “He who laughs last laughs best.”
Another defeat is coming soon.
Sad, but not surprised.
I’m sorry to hear that. I wish Jesse Jr the very best.
Why didn’t he do it before the election so the state of IL would Not have to be taxed extra for yet another election?
JJ started going Rogue when he was not able to be appointed senator to complete sen Obama’s term. That is sad.
Of Course, we had to schedule a frickin’ meeting at 2:00! Why did I even bother coming in to work today?
BWAH!!
Love this one Dudette! happy Thanksgiving! Though we are missing Scandal because of thanksgiving! UGH… LOL
Thanks Kreen! Happy Thanksgiving!
Ugh, no Scandal tomorrow night! Criminal, isn’t it? Well, there’s always On Demand reruns. Can’t wait ’til next Thursday to get my fix!
There are more live links for this than there were for the President’s Burma speech
DAMN SHAME. US media SUCKS!!!
The Burma/Mynmar speech was Good for pres Obama. The Gaza/Israel is Conflict driven. That draws audience. Sad but true.
If it bleeds, it leads.
… or if it’s a juicy sex scandal.
Bibi Nutnyahoo is on now.
Just turned the sound down LL, I honestly can’t bear to hear the man’s voice.
Now Barak is speaking
CNN keeps talking about the cease-fire, a number of overseas interviews, with key players.
MSNBC has Andrea Mitchel talking to a couple of Blue Dogs.
Lean forward!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving. Just wanted to convey my message to all my TOD blogger friends since I will be busy with family in the next few days. Don’t eat too much or if you do pace yourself.
Obama Grandmama, you have a wonderful and joyful Thanksgiving. ((((( Lots of hugs)))))HZ
The Inauguration, I am so looking forward to that. So thankful it isn’t Mitt, so, so, so, so ,so, so thankful.
Sweeeeeet!!!!
Jeepers, that is one large turkey:
http://edition.cnn.com/video/flashLive/live.html?stream=4
Alright yall sounds like we have some live wire turkeys this year. Let’s see if they’re behaved when PBO and the kids come out.
I think it’s telling that HRC made the ceasefire announcement in Cairo, not Israel.
Ugh, Marc Regev on BBC now.

Those two girls come from a fabulous gene pool. They are beautiful young ladies.
Donna, I honestly thought Malia was Michelle when she was first appeared! They are just lovely - elegant, sweet and gracious.
can you tell me how to follow you on tweetdeck w/o having to block you on regular twitter? this is getting annoying……….
No idea, sorry!

$49 dollars, that’s not bad. One thing about it, I can’t wear what she wears, but our FLOTUS has style. Best dress First Lady I can remember.
I know there were others, but I am speaking for anniebella.
Who else would you be speaking for?
You know me Chipsticks, I say what I mean and mean what Anniebella say.
Is that says?

I was thinking the same thing…kill me now. LOL They put up with it though for their dad.
Funny…..that wasn’t my impression at all. I thought, what poised and lovely young ladies. They like being with their dad, you can feel it, and he is thrilled to have them with him.
Don’t recall seeing this posted last week:

NO, NO, NO, I just missed the turkey pardon. WAAAH. Video soon, I hope. Darn it!!
Uploading as we speak Meta! But the White House video might be up sooner.
I’d be bereft without you!!
Once again, reminding all, especially, the media……THAT Facts matter. Nice Touch, POTUS.
The man doesn’t miss a thing! Gawd I love him!
Malia said thanks but, no thanks. That was so funny. I don’t blame her, I would have been scared to touch that turkey too.
It’s ugly.
Thank you!
the music cracks me up-is that irony?

Now, he knows the President will not do that no matter what.
So, what is he up to?
He’s a jackass!

I thought this was settle when the Supreme Court voted in favor of Obamacare.
It was. Boehner can go fuck off.
Grumpiness alert: careful with comments about Malia and Sasha, they’re just kids. Anything too personal about them will be deleted. Thanks.
Like what?
They’re deleted, CK - body ‘shapes’, moods, etc. Not having it here.
Gotcha.
THANK YOU.
Bless you, Auntie Chipsticks, I missed this earlier, but you are totally correct to protect the girls, they need and deserve our love all around them.

Going to do a little shopping and then a bit of food prep for tomorrow. Will check in later. Be well, everyone….
I LOVE the Nate Silver mention!
