They’re ticked off because they got embarrassed. The epic fail they hoped for was not to be. Israelis fell in love with PBO from shalom and cried when he left for Jordan. The cable news media as exemplified by Chuck “Israel doesn’t like you Mr President” Todd was shown to be a farce. When even Bibi clowns you then you truly stink.
So to save face the only thing they can do is pretend it didn’t happen and fight for hashtags.
You are exactly right derbingle. Tweety’s BFF Chuck Todd got thoroughly humiliated. And Howard Fineman cannot come on the TV and boast about his imaginary “sources” because no one will believe him.
I just wish something like this would wake them up but I doubt it. Compared to other news agencies around the world (and local news for that matter) they’re a joke. It was so obvious even they know it. That’s why they’re on the defensive and trying so desperately to change the story line. Hopefully this is the denial period and eventually they can move to step two but again I have my doubts.
Watching press conference in Jordan replay on C-Span. It is the AlJazeera broadcast. Cable companies provide their content. With all the US reporters accompanying him, wouldn’t you think one would have the video of this? CNN had some from a local station (presentation of some gifts) and on both CNN and CBS a woman kept popping up not speaking English
Learned a lot more about what is happening in the world from their news line during the broadcast including the fact that a storm is heading my way. Also that a dust storm just blew into Israel from Lebanon (was terribly windy when President Obama left there) and that Israel apologized to Turkey over that Flotilla business. That in itself is a positive result of his visit to Israel. Lots of other progress as well, but the American press will report little of it.
Our WHPC questions on this trip have been embarrassing.
Technically, he left for Palestine twice, but returned to Israel both times. His final leave from Israel along with a farewell ceremony was when he left for Jordan from which he should soon leave for home after spending ovenight there (their time).
Thanks for speaking TRUTH, derbingle. Thank God for alternative media. I can come here and get news without going through the MSM filters, innuendos, and outright lies.
I suggest you write him or tweet him. He really, truly wants to be popular. Let him know he’s not popular, and we see through him. He is NOT the news. This kind of action will not gain viewers for him; let him know that. I refuse to watch him because I just can’t stand his bipolar actions, and rude interruptions of all his guests.
I happened to see the last segment Monday evening wherein a representative from Ireland presented him with a certificate of Irish heritage, like the one presented to President Obama. Chris interrupted him so much the man could hardly finish his presentation. Chris is just plain rude!

Thank you so much for the info, Lovely Plains. Now I feel better because I though that I had neglected to pay attention to the West Wing Week, which I always listen to whenever it’s posted at TOD! Today was the first time I listened to Ben Rhodes and I really liked the way he summarized the President’s goal and accomplishments on his Israel visit. I just love to listen to intelligent young people who are not set in their ways. This is what keeps me young at heart and forward looking. All you young people at TOD have been doing magnificent work of keeping us informed and less dependent on the mainstream media.
That is very, very kind of you nathkatun. I have to pay it forward to Chips as well, b/c she afforded me the opportunity to contribute, for which I am deeply grateful.
Yes Indeed! Chips is wonderful! But you, UT, LL and Amk stepped in her shoes and filled them in beautifully. Besides, although I don’t twit, I’ve always appreciated your tweets and those of your four comrades/amigos. I hope my calling you comrades/amigos doesn’t get you blacklisted by FOX, Ted Cruz and the rest of tea baggers? In any case, Keep up the good work! Many of us are depending on you.
Wow…wow….wow. First Netanyahu apologizes to PM Erdogan and resumes talks with Turkey and now this? The power of Obama. It’s fantastic living in a world with Pres. Obama.

I like Joy Reid a lot, and I am disappointed that she jumped on the MSM’s “prejudgment” bandwagon. MSM never learn. Every time PBO travel abroad something meaningful always happen.
That’s just it. The shows that are on MSNBC are not necessarily newscasts. It’s more commentary and discussion about the news. So “experts” that are included as guests are there more for opinion and prediction, often with a political slant.
However, those opinions and predictions SHOULD have some basis in FACTS. And when they are wrong about their opinions/predictions, they should own up to it as Joy Reid did. Instead we often see them doubling down and getting defensive…especially lately.
I don’t know how many saw 57andFemale’s post this morning about one of her quilting students. I was catching up reading back posts and had to check it out. I love quilts. This Art Teachers talent and dedication touch your heart. You must check it out. I can’t wait to see the one she did with the PBO theme.
“Off topic: Told you yesterday about my quilting student who has been nominated as High School Art Teacher of the Year, who had made a PBO quilt. Unfortunately, there are restrictions on what we can disseminate, but here’s a link to her blog that will give you an idea of how wonderful this young woman is. Wish I could get a picture of the PBO quilt, but I think you’ll understand the depth of her commitment and understanding. http://afterschoolartclub.blogspot.com/ ”
As always thank you all for the wonderful reporting of our great President.
Thank you Lovely Plains for sharing. The song and sentiment was beautiful. How old do you think he was? It was hard to see his face because of all the flashbulbs. But he had lots of hair and late thirtyish sounding voice. He also reminded me a little of “Fiddler On the Roof”
I dont know, the video quality is not that great….I think I heard Bibi say he is a famous singer? BTW your peacock picture is awesome. I saved it for my animal photo blog.
This is beyond disturbing. When you are crazier than Mississippi, you have redefined the meaning of crazy. They are truly the party that hates women. Hates women with a vengeance.
North Dakota Passes Unconstitutional Ban On All Abortions http://t.co/A3lVdcLIy8
North Dakota Republicans widened the War on Women today by passing a ban on all abortions, among other things, by declaring that fertilized eggs are people too.
North Dakota lawmakers voted on Friday afternoon to pass a “personhood? abortion ban, which would endow fertilized eggs with all the rights of U.S. citizens and effectively outlaw abortion. The measure, which passed the Senate last month, passed the House by a 57-35 vote and will now head to Republican Gov. Jack Dalrymple’s desk.
The personhood ban will have far-reaching consequences even beyond abortion care, since it will charge doctors who damage embryos with criminal negligence. Doctors in the state say it will also prevent them from performing in vitro fertilization, and some medical professionals have vowed to leave the state if it is signed into law.
As others have pointed out, this will also ban the Plan B “morning after? pill and other forms of birth control.
A number of states are trying to force a supreme court review - while the court is still on their side of the debate. Those against the hate directed at women want to wait until the political excesses are removed from the court via resignation or death.
North Dakota will become unlivable for women. Maybe they will seek havens in other states and we’ll see a mass exodus from ND. American women will have to become refugees in their own country. Legislatures like this take stupidity to the nth degree. They are no better than the Taliban.
Maybe we should change ND on their way of thinking. It can be done. My Grandmother homesteaded a farm in ND around 1907. I don’t have exact date at my fingertips; she was only 17 and a seamstress from Wisconsin. Her sister went along and homesteaded her own 160 acres. When the territory of Wyoming wanted to become a State, they gave women the right to vote to raise the population numbers upwards. We can do it; we can change hearts and minds!
VC, I had a rumor that today was your birthday. Wishing you a Very Happy Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day filled with love and fun from friends and family!
Great tweet! The MSM are trying to compete with GOP right wingers when it comes to hating on President Obama. They are so clueless because they have yet to realize that they are no longer the only source of news.
Tell all your friends, tell everyone, I will be watching and getting involved. I listened to Randi Rhodes and she just does not understand Harry Reid’s reluctance about the Gun bill and putting everything on Diane Feinstein to do an amendment. I want PBO to have a bill to sign when he returns from his trip.
Jojo, I felt the same about Randi today. Personally, I thought it was a breath of fresh air last night to see Lawrence look at the big picture with Harry Reid. Lawrence has knowledge on how this works. It is a lot easier to sit back and criticize. Why is it that Michael Moore’s fat ass is pulled out of mothballs every time they need someone to criticize something?
Why can’t Michael Moore run for Senate from Michigan and then show us how it’s done to enact progressive legislation on guns and other issues? Does he realize that Pres. Obama and Sen. Reid have to deal with the reality of Senators from Alaska, Arkansas, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Dakota and West Virginia? These are all states that President Obama lost. Then there are Democratic Senators from states that have strong gun enthusiasts, which President Obama won narrowly: Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia. Some times, the so called progressives, like Michael Moore, are so naive.
From my Twitter TL, it looks like he’s either indulging in some implied or explicit criticism of the DEMs - while giving GOP a pass, or playing the false equivalency game?
Agree….and he is right, some dems are not fighting for legislation to control gun violence…my dem Senator Kay Hagan for one…I don’t care if they are facing a tough race they should stand up and do the right thing, be they R’s or D’s….If they don’t do the right thing on THIS as far as I am concerned they are untrustworthy…….and they just might find out that people will respect them a whole lot more and they just might garner a hell of a lot more votes, from sources they have not even considered, by standing up for the right thing.
The dems are eternally held to a completely different standard to the GOPers - Why on earth is every GOP politician expected to be against gun control. There HAVE to be some of them that realize what guns have done to the USA. I agree with every word Pierce had to say today about guns, prisons and violent white-supremacist ideology - both sides of politics need to look at this long and hard - why does the GOP always get the pass?
http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/tom-clements-colorado-murder-032213
(I know I don’t live in your world - do beat me around if I get out of line - but the disrespect from so many to your President is unbelievable. Given a chance I am beginning to believe he is the closest thing the world has to “peace in our time” and still the GOP wants to stop every last thing he tries to do.)
you mean the guy who said a couple weeks before the last election…”we should just get used to saying president romney.” it was one of the weirdest interviews i’ve ever seen. he was literally doing everything he could to influence voters to vote for romney. he’s a complete sham and i’ve since gotten rid of his books and DVDs (many signed by him personally at events i went to) since i saw his behavior leading up to this last election. i couldn’t care less what he has to say about anything. i actually don’t want him on my side. please, michael, keep doing your anti-obama rants, please, so the rest of the o-bots will ignore you too!
Tonight the same crap. A back-handed remark about PBO must be a good person, look at his wife and kids, something good going on in that house. But his first reaction to question about POTUS’ involvement in Gun Issue was a dismissive smirk. With friends like this….
I know he is going to Petra,Jordan if there is not a dust storm in the morning and scheduled to arrive at 10:30 pm tomorrow night….That’s all I got UT.
I read on Whitehouse.gov that he was going to the city of Petra before heading home. It’s an historic city made of stone, one of the great wonders in Jordan. No idea who’s going with him or whether he will go back to Amman to actually take the flight home.
Rev. Al had a good section on the President’s brokering of the apology from Bibi to Turkey’s PM. He was extremely proud of the president. He also showed the president putting the stone on Ytzhak Rabin’s tomb and explained that the stone came from MLK’s memorial, from one human rights activist to another.
Feelings …. have we ever had such an esteemed, intelligent, charismatic President who the whole world loves? Have we ever had a First Lady so involved in her causes … so hands on? Yes, there have been others with “causes” and they made speeches or appearances, but our First Lady gets down and gets real … from visiting the military families or their children and spouses or hospitals to digging in the garden herself. She is “hands on.” And, have we ever been so blessed to have the wife our Vice-President working so closely and lovingly with the First Lady in these causes, plus having her own agenda, such as in the educational realm and making appearances and speeches herself. Then, finally, and perhaps saving the best for last? Joe Biden, Vice-President extradionaire, he is funny and real, and intelligent and can really work with foreign leaders and with certain groups at home to give his all for the middle class of this United States. He loves women … really loves them (not in the sexual way) but in that he loves their personhood. He has respect for women and he has respect for life. I know I am rambling, but I feel very emotional right now: we have never, ever been so blessed. What can we do do lift them up? To support them? To let them know that we realize this is as good as it gets … and personally, I never want it to end.
I am an older southern white guy who came of age during the Kennedy administration and feel the same way. We have never had it so good and will never have it again.
And I am an older southern white lady who came of age during the Kennedy administration and feel the same way. We have been blessed to be able to experience the Obamas and Bidens.
Another northern older white woman joining in to agree with the above posters. I am so thankful to be alive during the Age of Obama.
I have to admit I had become quite cynical and desperate during GWB’s admin…..I could hardly sing the Star Spangled Banner I was so angry. GWB, to me, just made a mockery of patriotism. President Obama has revived my patriotism and faith.
daisydem brings up some good points i never thought about before. i wonder if some of the crazy hillary-PUMA stuff comes from jealousy about how the obama family is superior in every way to the clintons (and they just happen to be of a much darker shade than the almost 100% white supporters of the clintons). michelle is a much better first lady than hillary was even, and barack beat her in a head-to-head election. i mean it’s pure domination really of the obama family over the clinton family. i’m not trying to stoke something…that’s just a factual statement, isn’t it especially considering what happened with lewinsky? when the republican/limbaugh machine try to mock and tear down michelle, they actually hurt themselves because of how michelle and barack live their lives. on the other hand, limbaugh could turn hillary, and shockingly their daughter chelsea, into jokelines that persist to this day and the clintons seems to have no way to counteract the republican insanity. the obama family is literally a godsend.
Am I late to the party today - and still loving that little orange blot that I ignored for a long time - so I have 3 threads and lots of comments to catch up on - thanks for all the news
Did the birthday cake happen? Is Chips still cleaning the kitchen?
Sssh, 99ts! Softly. Last time I saw Chips (earlier today) she was picking pieces off the ceiling and elsewhere and trying to glue the cake back together so we wouldn’t notice. I suspect she fell asleep from all that work so pleeeease don’t wake her up until tomorrow, when I can easily thank her politely on all our behalf and refuse to eat it as the occasion will have passed. Chips really does try, you know. It’s just that baking isn’t her thing. I give her a chance each year in the hope that something will click but I’m coming to the conclusion that it’s not fair to us her to let this continue.
As for the party-party with music and all that, all the accredited TOD DJs had a previous engagement so there was no one to start the music a-rolling. IMO that all worked out really well though because for some reason this year I had this urge for a quiet day. All in all I have had a special ordered VC day, and now have the intention to stay awake for the last 2 1/2 hours so that I can squeeze every last drop from it. ;)
Oh dear - I’ll keep reading the earlier threads and tiptoe past any cooking stories - meanwhile I do hope you enjoyed the celebration of the day of your birth - you might (or might not) want to check here for others who share your illustrious date.

it’s so easy to take for granted what president obama does. he goes on trips such as this and completely, utterly knocks it out of the park every time, in every situation and every speech. do you know how hard this is?!?!? i literally cannot think of a misstep by president obama in any of his trips. h.w. bush literally THREW UP on japan’s prime minster on one his trips. w. bush was a laughing stock everywhere he went including the freakish neck rub on german chancellor merkel. if we had a real fourth estate that “searched for truth” they would already be preparing mt. rushmore for president obama’s likeness as we speak.
um okay…wow! I luv me some David Beckham, but DAMN these pants are too “toi-oh-ght” Seriously, guys, how the hell can you even wear underwear with pants so tired. I agree with the headline though, these damn pants are tailored to within an inch of there life!
good evening TOD ~ what a lovely eventful trip POTUS has been on.. continue to be only PROUD of him and grateful every single day for him, FLOTUS, the Bidens.
*******HAPPY BIRTHDAY VC******** I hope you had a wonderful day ~
Best wishes LL & to your wife, I’m so glad she is doing well :)

If you're going to run any campaign at all about LGBT issues, please don't make the same mistake a lot of them do. Demi, Bi, Ace, and Pansexuals get erased from almost every single one, and it is very disheartening to see that your sexuality is not only erased, but discredited as if it never existed. I struggled to discover my identity for two years because I thought on transexuals, gays, and lesbians were around. Run a campaign that displays those, and you will help more people than you know.
No questions, lol. I just wanted to say thank you. I know it hasn't been easy to be so forthrightly supportive of the LGBT community. It's been politically risky. But you've transformed my life and the lives of so many other Gay people. Given us a complete future in our own country. And I'll never forget that. Thanks. *huuuugs*
What do you mean when you say you will "support" the effort? What steps will you actually be taking?

That’s just it. The shows that are on MSNBC are not necessarily newscasts. It’s more commentary and discussion about the news. So “experts” that are included as guests are there more for opinion and prediction, often with a political slant.
However, those opinions and predictions SHOULD have some basis in FACTS. And when they are wrong about their opinions/predictions, they should own up to it as Joy Reid did. Instead we often see them doubling down and getting defensive…especially lately.
I also have to keep reminding myself of that. Maybe that will reduce some of my frustrations when watching, short of not watching at all.
I think the days of actually reporting the news are gone…MSNBC is not a news station…it is about opinion and the pundits…
I think we have to go to the top of the MSNBC ladder. Something has started changing. It was subtle, now it’s more evident.
Now owned by Comcast. That’s a part of the problem.
Oh…
Feels like a bait and switch.
Yes, it does.
This is one “stand up” person! Love you Joy.
Straight to the Point.
Just like that famous saying: Allow one to die, before one is buried. A tad morbid, but it makes sense here.
Thank you for sharing. Reminded me of doves in flight.
Unbelievable
Afternoon funny!
An elderly couple Pauline & Frank were recently attending a church service at their retirement village.
About halfway through the service, Pauline took a pen and paper out of her purse,
and wrote a note and handed it to Frank.
The note said:” I just let out a silent fart, what do you think I should do?”
Frank scribbled back: “Put a new battery in your hearing aid.”
Hopefully it will melt that snow.
It melts fast these days.
I dont know Hebrew, but this reminded me of the multi-denominational interfaith vigil, after the Newtown tragedy.
It’s great’s isn’t it?
Dudu Fisher, I think.
Yes, dudu Fisher, I listened again. PBO thanked him in hebrew.
TY Vicki.
A very moving story and wish for peace, by Rabbi Lau at Yad Vashem today.
OMG, incredibly moving. Thank you so much, LP.
NP meta. I was busy this morning an missed most of the final leg of his Israel visit. Then I ran across this and well……
Thank LP. Forever in your debt for sharing this beautiful story.
This is beyond disturbing. When you are crazier than Mississippi, you have redefined the meaning of crazy. They are truly the party that hates women. Hates women with a vengeance.

This is clear proof why Democrats elected to Congress from ND cannot be expected to behave like Congressional Democrats from New York.
Yeah..keep underestimating him and there will be a lot more “unexpected” stuff that you all will have to report.
I suppose they’ll block me for being critical like another news site did, but that hardly hurts me.

Mike Moore is on point tonite. #ed show.
That’s the ticket jojo.
Naw. He’s talking a big truth.
Sorry I just don’t. Not where MMFlint is concerned. There has to be some implied criticism of either PBO and/or the Demcrats in congress.
Sorry. I heard something different this time. And so it is.
He must have launched his criticism after you stopped watching.
Nope. I watched the whole thing and I think we should return to our mutual corners and let the refs prepare the ring for a more meaningful conflict.
Still disagree with you, so lets agree to disagree as you say :)
And it is so. ;-)

(I know I don’t live in your world - do beat me around if I get out of line - but the disrespect from so many to your President is unbelievable. Given a chance I am beginning to believe he is the closest thing the world has to “peace in our time” and still the GOP wants to stop every last thing he tries to do.)
It’s all about the $$$!
you mean the guy who said a couple weeks before the last election…”we should just get used to saying president romney.” it was one of the weirdest interviews i’ve ever seen. he was literally doing everything he could to influence voters to vote for romney. he’s a complete sham and i’ve since gotten rid of his books and DVDs (many signed by him personally at events i went to) since i saw his behavior leading up to this last election. i couldn’t care less what he has to say about anything. i actually don’t want him on my side. please, michael, keep doing your anti-obama rants, please, so the rest of the o-bots will ignore you too!
Tonight the same crap. A back-handed remark about PBO must be a good person, look at his wife and kids, something good going on in that house. But his first reaction to question about POTUS’ involvement in Gun Issue was a dismissive smirk. With friends like this….
Does anyone know Pres. Obama’s schedule for Saturday? Does he have any events in the Middle East on Saturday or does he wake up and board AF1?
I’m just as clueless as you UT. Maybe we should turn to Chuck Todd for answers?
If you tweet Chuck be certain to include a “love note”.
:) Yes, from all of us.
I know he is going to Petra,Jordan if there is not a dust storm in the morning and scheduled to arrive at 10:30 pm tomorrow night….That’s all I got UT.
Thanks LP. I looked around but couldn’t find his schedule. Perhaps Foodorama has it?
I’m sure Chips has it, I am looking at the itinerary from last week and it does not have specifics.
Thanks LP. :D
Sure thing UT.
As I’ve stated before, I will be shedding some serious tears in Jan 2017.
Me too! I’m not looking forward to 2017. However , I do know that President Obama will continue to do great things for the entire world.
I think that it will be extraordinary….
I’m going to need serious treatment because I can’t even think about it without choking up.
daisydem wins the internet today.
second that
daisydem is just humbled by the support of TODers who feel the same way. That is more than enough. Love to all.
I am an older southern white guy who came of age during the Kennedy administration and feel the same way. We have never had it so good and will never have it again.
And I am an older southern white lady who came of age during the Kennedy administration and feel the same way. We have been blessed to be able to experience the Obamas and Bidens.
Bill, I am an older northern white woman who came of age at the same time and I wholeheartedly agree about PBO.
x1000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Totally agree, daisydem.
You lifted me up daisydem! 😪😪😪 Agree with everything you said and I’m also thankful for SOS Kerry and his wife Therasa.
If you can think of any other lawmaker who needs to be reminded, go for it!
daisydem brings up some good points i never thought about before. i wonder if some of the crazy hillary-PUMA stuff comes from jealousy about how the obama family is superior in every way to the clintons (and they just happen to be of a much darker shade than the almost 100% white supporters of the clintons). michelle is a much better first lady than hillary was even, and barack beat her in a head-to-head election. i mean it’s pure domination really of the obama family over the clinton family. i’m not trying to stoke something…that’s just a factual statement, isn’t it especially considering what happened with lewinsky? when the republican/limbaugh machine try to mock and tear down michelle, they actually hurt themselves because of how michelle and barack live their lives. on the other hand, limbaugh could turn hillary, and shockingly their daughter chelsea, into jokelines that persist to this day and the clintons seems to have no way to counteract the republican insanity. the obama family is literally a godsend.
Hi E1
I give her a chance each year in the hope that something will click but I’m coming to the conclusion that it’s not fair to
usher to let this continue. As for the party-party with music and all that, all the accredited TOD DJs had a previous engagement so there was no one to start the music a-rolling. IMO that all worked out really well though because for some reason this year I had this urge for a quiet day. All in all I have had a special ordered VC day, and now have the intention to stay awake for the last 2 1/2 hours so that I can squeeze every last drop from it. ;)
What cake ? I didn’t see no steenking cake.

Absolutely, 4morefor44!
um okay…wow! I luv me some David Beckham, but DAMN these pants are too “toi-oh-ght” Seriously, guys, how the hell can you even wear underwear with pants so tired. I agree with the headline though, these damn pants are tailored to within an inch of there life!
