Morning everyone. Warm, soft rain in Seattle today, lovely. Maybe thunderstorms later. Fine by me! Nephew getting married in LA today, I can’t be there, but have candles burning, I’m sure it will be a wonderful day for them!! http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=PBO
HiYa, Chips!
This article is the lead story in the print version (many people pick up a print copy of the Sunday Times even if they don’t purchase/have delivered the weekday edition, so yeah, the print layout was timed and planned for today). Thank God the Koch Bros are no longer in the running to buy this media.
@bardgal The most annoying thing is that this is the front page center headline today. "Narrow Networks…" pic.twitter.com/xzovH0p42O
Obama Obliterates The Republican Myth That Putin Saved Him on Syria
By: Jason Easley
—————————————————
The president confirmed again that he discussed this with Putin a year ago. He talked to Putin about this at the G20. The notion that Putin saved Obama is political spin by his critics who are trying to tarnish his diplomatic victory in any way that they can. It is a display of how deeply Republicans hate this president that they are so willing to label Putin a hero, not even a year after their presidential nominee called Russia our biggest rival.
Maybe we should tell that jackass Ezra Klein that it was no lucky fluke, it had been discuss between Putin and President Obama over a year ago. This people like Klein just want to diss the President and make him seem like he have no idea what he is doing. One thing I have learn is that the dislike for President Obama doesn’t just come from the right.
The right wing haters will side with anyone, anything if they think it makes Obama looks bad, that is how sick they are. They have sided with Putin and Assad, Russia and Syria.
The current rootin’ for putin by bbc, cnn and skynews as some kinda democracy pill pusher and an overnight human rights champion - fuck his own jailed russians and fuck his propping up this century’s hitler - is quite astounding. The ODS spread so much they are calling Obama, Cameron and “president” putin in the same sentence without even pausing for breath.
LOL! No I don’t think so - otherwise they would be moving to Russia and Syria in herds and droves. However, if you ask them on a poll, they will dishonestly say they think that Putin/Assad are better leaders.
Most of the MSM-inspired polling on PBO is designed to elicit dishonest, spiteful responses from anti-Obama folks with various axes to grind, not genuine answers about where people actually are on a particular issue.
That’s why PBO does his own internal polling which is often way closer to reality than the MSM polling.
LMAO! Huntsman…haven’t heard that name in while…wonder what he’s up to. I guess still recovering from the GOP primary. Or probably waiting in the wings to spring up as the GOP front runner in 2015…
I think Pres Obama was reading my piece yesterday :D
We have a mindmeld. :D
Naaw, who am I kidding? President Obama is a very consistent ethical person and so it is not difficult to understand how his mind works IF one is willing to acknowledge he is a rare brilliant but highly MORAL mind
Good West Coast morning Chipsticks, UT, & TOD family. (I was left on the bottom of the last thread)
I love how President Obama took George’s negative slanted questions and turned them back on him with a positive answer.
What do you think of that George?
Didn’t stay for the Round Table. Why? Because I heard first hand what President Obama had to say. I don’t need someone to translate for me.
That shitferbrains S.E. C-sumthin ranting gibberish per usual. “WEAKNESS”. Riiiiight our destroyers in the Mediterranean look SO WEAK. At one point Cornell West (not my favorite by any means) asks her “sS you just want to bomb? Just start bombing?”
“YES! YES!” Silly dense witch at no risk to herself wants bombing for everything.
Your S.E. Cupp comment reminded me of my ‘favourite new’ quote -
‘When you are dead, you don’t know that you are dead. IT IS DIFFICULT ONLY FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. [emphasis = mine]
It is the same when you are stupid.’
Ms Chips Chica, thank you for the video clips! My guy is so knowledgeable about his job, and is such s diplomat, AND WE ARE ALL SO BLESSED TO HAVE HIM IN THE WH!
You all realize WH could be ‘World’s House’? Yeah, I know I’m being silly.:razz:
Hi VC!
You know POTUS & FLOTUS calls it the People’s House - and that could include people all over the World - so your World’s House is not a far stretch :-)
wow so now it’s dangerous for black folk to run to police for help. we gotta walk slowly and steadily with our hands already up! hmm noting racial about this shooting amirite?

If I miss coming here for just 24 hours, I realize just how unbalanced the media world really is. Will they ever give this incredible man a break? Live in his shoes for a day MSM!
Lots of discussion yesterday about *crickets* from MSM (except for the loathsome Ezra Klein who tweeted link to WaPo article “Is Obama Lucky?”
So a quick review of media twitter this morning:
Jake Tapper (not clear why he bothered, but I guess he figured this makes POTUS look bad):
POTUS to ABC: "Folks here in Washington like to grade on style. And so had we rolled out something that was very smooth and disciplined…"
— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) September 15, 2025
Jackass upChuck:
.@JeffreyGoldberg on Russia/Syria deal "A year ago we were talking about removing Assad, now, in a perverse way we're partnering with Assad"
— Meet the Press (@meetthepress) September 15, 2025
Jeffrey Goldberg sent bigoted/sexist tweet this week about whether US-Russia Syria deal was Kerry’s idea not our President’s. Which of course he would have if Hillary were still SecState (not).
Chris Hayes RT’d to Fred Kaplan’s win-win-win tweet without comment yesterday. I’m sure he’s conspiring with Greenwald to figure out how he will attack our President tomorrow:
My take on the US-Russian deal re Syrian CW: win-win-win for everybody, maybe even, in the long run, Syrians. http://t.co/U58uxNdYKc
Arapaho you read my mind about Hayes….he’s clearly searching (or waiting for Greenwald’s input) for an angle to attack PBO because he’s been unable to do so in the last 24 hrs, and simply WON’T give PBO/SOS Kerry any credit, especially after he arrogantly predicted “political train wreck” on the Syria issue, and was proven 100% WRONG…
oops sorry!!!! Here is part of the article…pretty funny!
A funny thing happens when you watch a lot of MSNBC: everyone’s faces all sort of start to . . . blend together. And not in the way that happens when you watch Fox News—when the expanses of jowls are such that the faces literally start fighting the stage makeup in which they are tenuously constrained, dripping into one sweaty, angry mass of flesh.
Stupidity from those with the widest media platforms will continue because most of either don’t understand the complexity of the issues PBO has to deal with or they understand & just want to undermine him any way they can - hoping they can destroy his second term.
thank God PBO is kind, clear headed, focused , patient & very comfortable in his inner compass.
No doubt I would be cursing out so many if I were in his shoes - and I don’t even curse a lot in my regular life
Little Chris Hayes is still tongue-tied on Syria..in the last two days has only sent on two tweets (on totally unrelated issue), and one retweet on Syria. I guess he’s waiting for Glen Greenwald or Ron Paul to fax or email instructions on how to proceed in light of this new, positive development yesterday.
The UN report will be released tomorrow. Hayes will look like a damn fool if he maintains his talking points of last week. He has to find something different…maybe back to drones, or nonsense about Larry Summers, or some other crap…
It’s amazing how George Stephanopoulos’ face looked so aged in his interview with PBO. I pondered why and realized that his disdain for the leader of the free world horribly distorted his face. His condescending, disrespectful and hostile manner would not prevent him from interrupting the president’s responses. He sat there staring at PBO in such a hawkish manner that he took on the appearance of an old angry wrinkled-face man.
Look at him on GMA when he is speaking with every “fly by night” (Caribbean term for trivial)entertainer; he is so animated, respectful and friendly that he looks so much younger. I really want to tell him directly that we are experiencing a post-modern phenomenon where America’s 44th president exposes the fallacy and stupidity of America’s main stream media.
I’m going to say something controversial here… I’m sorry but I disagree with your assessment. For once, George was “ok”. He was not a jerk, and for the most part let the President answer questions. Of course he cites some critics when asking questions; but we can see it as George giving the President the opportunity to respond to those critics. So, in short, George didn’t seem hateful to me. He seemed serious and concentrated. He’s not the most fabulous interviewer, but this interview was ok. President Obama was his usual calm, steady, coherent, “making sense” self.
We want interviewers to display respect but we don’t want them to be “friendly”. Fine line, yet…
My beef with so-called “journalists” isn’t necessary that they play the devil’s advocate with the President. My problems are 1) that they DON’T DO THE SAME with republicans and let them spill their bullshit without pushing back, and 2) many of them lack depth and preparation and their questions are often no more than a repeat of the talking points circulating in the Beltway.
It certainly is HURTFUL and FRUSTRATING in the extreme to see how shallow the DC press is in general, and how mean they often act with the president. But on the other hand we have to be careful and not forget that journalism is about asking hard questions, and yes, sometimes play the devil’s advocate. We can’t interpret EVERY difficult question as a sign of “hate” towards the President.
A strong fourth estate means leaders have to be “on their toes”, like President Obama has often said. President Obama doesn’t mind responding to hard questions.
All that being said, there is no question in my mind that the MSM creates stupid narratives, and has totally abdicated their responsibility to call out the lies; hell they even buy into some of them. It’s sad that the truth has to come only from the President himself, in those interviews where he’s being asked to respond to the “stuff” that is circulating.
may be next time, Ms. Taylor should not telegraph what she is going to say.
Given that any criticism was going to involve some of the people on the same network who participates in the same glee, I can be suspicious that saying “no time left” is a polite way to censor in-house controversy
I DVR’ed the Interview as conducted by GS with PBO.
I am glad that it is posted here too.
I don’t mind the questions as asked by GS. Pres Obama knows, frankly the beast….oops, the game DC/NY pundits have conditioned themselves to play. PBO is Never afraid to answer their questions. He is a lawyer after all. He knows how to make his case.
What irks me is that the media dismisses the points made by the Obama Adm or the POTUS himself and flood the airwaves with Twist and Spin. Since most Americans are not glued to all things political, they end up picking tiny bits of information, mostly misinformation.
So those Warriors, Twitter Brigades of great will at TOD and across the globe who work their tails off to stop and mitigate the Lies, A Great Tip of My Hat to You All. Thank You :!:
Hay Republicans Bush were so strong and decisive he never found bin Laden either. There is a difference when you have a President that didn’t mind lying us into a war, and you have a President who is trying to do the right thing.

soon they’ll be coming out with shitty “polls” telling us that 60% of Americans think President Putin is a better leader than PBO….
Sixty percent of Republicans do think Putin and Assad is a better leader than Barack H. Obama.
Remember the crazy Republicans in some poll who blame President Obama for Hurricane Katrina.
