Are the TWO cakes ready? And is Danny all brushed and ready to party?

        • October 28, 2025 at 6:00 pm

Well, the cakes were ready - and then Danny ate them. He has also, in case anyone is trying to call me, bitten through the landline wire, so: bye bye landline :???:

          • 16 vcprezofan2
            October 28, 2025 at 6:07 pm

As Danny’s auntie I strongly, STRONGLY, I say, object to your blaming him for any missing (read ‘unbaked’) cakes. That is too much of a cliched excuse. Cute Little Danny would never have eaten two of your cakes! I am outraged!

            • October 28, 2025 at 6:13 pm

VC, I have photo proof - note how the cakes turned him white:

And puffed him up too! How close is the vet?
[Danny - White - you did us a service because we were expecting homemade cake, not that boxed stuff. Thanks and hope you won't be too uncomfortable for long.]

          • October 28, 2025 at 6:23 pm

Run all your sensitive wiring through PVC pipes. Been there, done that.

            • October 28, 2025 at 6:27 pm

Ah, great tip LL. The wire he bit - he’s two flippin’ months old with teeny teeth! - was kinda pinned to the wall, but he still managed it. Fiddling with it (being an expert on these things) and if I lie on the floor and hold it at a certain angle the phone kinda works, but with major weirdy noises. He’s asleep now. I hope he’s having nightmares about monster phones chasing him down dark alleys.

You’re lucky if all Danny has done so far is chewed through the land line. My baby, Winston, has chewed through land lines, chewed up one of my nice casual jackets, destroyed a pair of my sneakers, gone into my handbag and shredded money, and this is a short list! He knows I love him dearly. That’s how he gets away with doing some things he shouldn’t be doing. Right now he’s on my bed having a ball playing with one of his squeaky toys. After he leaves his bed in the morning, my bed becomes his bed for the rest of the day. In fact, he thinks he owns me, not the other way around. When I have to go to one of y doctors and he has to stay home, he “punishes” me by jumping up on me and pushing me. He wants to let me know he doesn’t like being left home alone.

It’s my fault Dotster, I spent the first three-ish days telling everyone: “He’s perfect!!!!!!” I’m guessing he was offended by that and set about proving that he’s not. He’s succeeded, the rascal.

Now I’m confused….I feel worse than Willard did after PBO told him to “please proceed.”

I tried to do right by both of you, congratulating you on your achievement of being first, and instead find myself on the receiving end of disapproval from you both?

Off to complain to PBO about this!

…PBO is sending the two of you a stern text message as we speak….

Congrats on first Chips, and MAJOR congrats on passing the 22,000,000 mark!!!! Celebrations are in order……….

The #GetCovered hashtag, introduced by the White House to champion the launch of its online health insurance marketplace, is being used positively by many more tweeters than are using it negatively, according to a sentiment score prepared for Nextgov by the Twitter analytics company Topsy.

Topsy ran a keyword analysis of tweets using the #GetCovered hashtag to determine whether the tweets were positive or negative. A score of 50 out of 100 essentially means there are an equal number of positive and negative tweets, according to a spokeswoman.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The sentiment score for #GetCovered has hovered around 80 out of 100 since HealthCare.gov launched Oct. 1 and was at about 90 out of 100 on Tuesday.

    Repost from “tail-end” yardarm.

The effect of those FOUR little words … “I LOVE YOU SWEETHEART”
A group of women were at a seminar on how to live in a loving relationship with your husband.
The women were asked, “How many of you love your husband?”
All the women raised their hands.
Then they were asked, “When was the last time you told your husband you loved him?”
Some women answered today, a few yesterday, and some couldn’t remember.
The women were then told to take out their cell phones and text their husband: “I love you, sweetheart.”
The women were then told to exchange phones with another person, and to read aloud the text message they received, in response.
Here are some of the replies:

    1. Who the hell is this?

    2. Eh, mother of my children, are you sick or what?

    3. Yeh, and I love you too. What’s up with you??

    4. What now? Did you crash the car again?

    5. I don’t understand what you mean?

    6. What the f… did you do now?

    7. ?!?

    8. Don’t beat about the bush, just tell me how much you need?

    9. Am I dreaming?

    10. If you don’t tell me who this message is actually for, someone will die.

    11. I thought we agreed you wouldn’t drink during the day.

    12. Your mother is coming to stay with us, isn’t she??

ABC world news exclusive interview with PBO on the syping programs, etc. (NOW)…

Hmmm, was this interview kept under wraps? You’ll have to tell us what is being said.

      • 76 hopefruit2
        October 28, 2025 at 7:40 pm

It was a highly edited interview,, with the reporter doing more the “reporting” of what PBO supposedly said - nothing new. They did show someone at the end saying that all countries engage in espionage. However, ABC news failed to mention that the spying on Merkel occurred well before PBO ran for President.

Then, according to ABC News, PBO said that he was not able to say whether or not he was briefed by NSA about the spying because it’s classified information. Then they started talking about the ACA website (I stopped watching at that point}.

I cannot stand Andrea Mitchell—-repeating myself, I know. She’s now on NBC Nightly News using Glenn Greenwald as her featured backup source for her SHOCK on the NSA spying. Gaggy gag gag.

It’s really disturbing how cloistered and uncurious the DC beltway echo-chamber MSM is.

This made me gag. Repeating myself from this morning; the MSM don’t question GG’s motives, conveniently look the other way when GG spews venom against our President and the US (my guess is that his twitter timeline contains zero favorable ones on either subject) and don’t question his motives in teaming up with a fugitive spy who is probably sedated not far from the Kremlin.

BTW, Hopefruit2, in her infinite wisdom assigned Andrea Mitchell to me. I’m dusting off my blonde wig, wheeling out my Ayn Rand-loving husband who probably single-handedly pushed for the repeal of Glass-Steagall out for show on Halloween.

Thank you UT for yet another excellent post! I am proud of President Obama for picking James Comey to be the Director of the FBI. Once again, the President demonstrated his ability and dedication to selecting the best people to serve our country. Comey may be a Republican but he comes across as a man of great integrity. I was especially impressed by his acknowledgement of the FBI’s shameful record of persecuting Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
