The next president is going to have a hard time living up to this president’s Easter Egg Rolls! Both POTUS and FLOTUS are out on the lawn participating in so many ways, and obviously enjoying themselves. Seems to me interest has spiked hugely in these five years of the Obama time. In past years there were presidents who weren’t even in residence for this event. Just love the full enthusiasm and participation of our beloved ones.
And…..they’ve opened participation to all people, not just the Washington elite. Probably another thing that frosts the D.C. MSM. They have truly made this the people’s house, and are making it, in spite of all the obstacles, the people’s administration.

Republican puppet Chucky Todd said that we wouldn’t come out to vote for President Obama in 2012, prove that Koch Brother’s pimp wrong then, didn’t we? So as far as I am concern to hell with what Chucky Todd says. As I said he is just like that darn doll in those Chucky movies in the 90′s, no matter what you did to that darn doll you could never get rid of it.

House Republicans have introduced a bill to withhold pay from anyone they believe is in contempt of Congress.

Under the Farenthold bill, a contempt vote by the full House or the full Senate would be enough to trigger a pay suspension, meaning a federal court would not have to convict the employee in order for the policy to take effect. The legislation would not affect retirement pay, according to the sponsor’s office.

Not coincidentally, the only people this bill would currently effect are Attorney General Eric Holder and former IRS employee Lois Lerner.

Do you think this is politically motivated? You’d be naive not to think so.

They have to be close to the only legislature in the world that spends most of its time debating bills that will never become law. I keep imagining the benefits if all that energy went into doing things that matter to people - like - maybe helping people get health care, vet benefits, even maybe passing employment laws/building some roads

      I dream.

Apparently according to Yahoo Screen, when you interview the President of the United States, you focus on the reporter’s face for the entirety of the interview and ignore President Obama.

That was a creepy move by Yahoo Screen.

Some parents claim that it takes the spotlight away from the children and that an expanded guest list limits seats for graduates’ friends and family. Another person was quoted saying that it politicizes the graduation.

      • 51 jackiegrumbacher
        April 21, 2025 at 4:29 pm

Well, CK, the stupidity runs deep and long in Kansas. Instead of giving their children something to remember all their lives, they exalt the great “achievement” of their little darlings for just finishing something that they’re expected to do anyway.

    • 52 Melanie
      April 21, 2025 at 3:49 pm

Allegedly it’s because students were informed that seating would be limited and because some are afraid that the graduation would be turned into a political event.

I think it’s alot of B.S. from Obama haters.I could be wrong, but I don’t think so. But from what I’ve heard the person, persons who invited FLOTUS to speak said that most of the response has been positive.

Exactly. Get a bigger venue. Simple as that. Then all the haters can sit far in the back of the hall, away from the “politicized” First Lady. The students will never forget hearing her and will love her, and the parents or local politicians or whoever is complaining can wear ear muffs. Or, better yet, the latter group can not bother to show up. You know … so it’s not “politicized.”

      • 58 99ts
        April 21, 2025 at 6:44 pm

From what I read - they put 5 schools together for a single graduation (before they had a speaker) and that is what has caused the lack of seats and much of the annoyance - not to mention reducing the attention to the individual schools/students - but needless to say there is always a GOPer who will use anything to attack the first family.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has been named a Father of the Year by the National Father’s Day/Mother’s Day Council.

The Republican governor has four children ranging from ages 10 to 20. He often talks about them in public.

Christie has joked that having dinner with all of them has given him experience in being yelled at, and he has boasted about having a rare family — one without video games.

Christie attracted scrutiny in 2011 when he used a state police helicopter to fly to his son Andrew’s baseball game. He repaid the cost.

Yea. One can also be ‘father of the year’ by inappropriately spending tax payers’ money on one’s family. I bet his kids would have wonderful things to say about their daddy, and how well he has provided for them.

Linda, I truly think that given Christie’s great devotion to his family, he should resign and spend more time with them. I haven’t the smallest doubt that he’s salted away enough millions that he can retire in comfort the rest of his life.

He will never spend his own money on this MP if the campaign runs out of money - no doubt he will get more “contributions” - or simply charge the NJ government - that which cannot afford to fix its roads and pay its employees.

Nothing surer than the sun will rise tomorrow - someone decided CC just had to get some good news - and this was it. How to make a joke out of parenthood - give an award to a bully - the GOP idea of good guys.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/21/us/politics/jeb-bushs-rush-to-make-money-may-be-hurdle.html?_r=0

As it sought to recruit well-heeled investors, an untested and unprofitable Miami company named InnoVida brought aboard a trusted Florida figure in 2007: Jeb Bush, the former governor and the brother of a sitting president.

For potential stockholders, the imprimatur of Mr. Bush, who joined InnoVida as a paid consultant and a member of the board of directors, conferred credibility on the young start-up.

That credibility did not last long. It turned out that the leaders of InnoVida, a manufacturer of inexpensive building materials, had faked documents, lied about the health of the business and misappropriated $40 million in company funds, records show. The company went bankrupt in 2011, its founder eventually went to jail and investors lost nearly all of their money.

/////His name JEB stands for John Ellies Bush.

Sounds about par for the course for the younger Bush critters. They remain standing, but everybody around them? Not so much.
