Except for the no-rain part - good! Maybe you’ll be surprised by a nighttime drizzle.

Ah, I love stories like this Jacqueline, so many people who think they’re not capable of campaigning, but once they get over their nervousness, they’re AWESOME! Because they’re real people leading real lives, and can relate to the people they speak to.
I only was visited twice during “the time of Obama” by canvassers, both representing Democratic GOTV drives - once in ’08 and once in ’12. The first one was young and inexperienced and so thankful to find I was going to vote Democratic all the way, and not throw him off my property. The second was a dynamo and we spent a half hour chatting it up about PRESIDENT OBAMA, and ended up hugging! I tried to convince her to run for local office, herself, ’cause think I mentioned she was a dynamo, and she said it wasn’t the first time somebody had suggested that to her. It’s so important to have boots on the ground, especially in 2014!
Ah, love that Jacqueline, I can only imagine what the encouragement and praise meant to her. Hey, she might end up in the Oval Office :-)

Billy and his family live about 4 doors from me. I watched him grow up, more than once I almost ran over him and his buddies when the were skateboarding around a blind corner. At link is the story of his love and loss — Billy married Missi, the love of his life on July 2nd and became a widower on July 3rd. So sad that this happened to such wonderful young folks, however, I marvel at the young man “little” Billy has grown up to be.

A Beautiful Sat., to my Chips and TOD family. It is a lovely overcast day in my area. I love the coolness of the day and the overcast. My dear elderly neighbors are having some health issues today. Hubby in hospital on Tues., released then wife went in this morning. All things will work out just fine. Went over to thank our First Responders(my usual no matter where I see them in the city, when I am our and about) and check on my dear sweet neighbors.
Spoke with daughter a few minutes ago, and they are running tests now. Please keep me and my dear neighbors in your quiet moments of prayer and meditation. They are lovely people and I love them dearly. I believe that they will take their measure of health with a big bucket of faith and grace and be back home soon. I have some wonderful neighbors, and we all look out for each other. We call it the ‘Fierce Senior Corner.’
TOD family take your time to live each moment with love, respect, and grace. It is a precious gift to walk through this time and give back the beautiful gifts of our abundance of talent, compassion, and respect to those we meet and share this great gift of life. HZ, yes, it is a lovely comfortable day today in SoCal. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your neighbors. You fierce seniors are important in the fabric of life. {{{{HZ}}}}
HZ, what a wonderful name-I’ll have to remember it. I have a group of fierce seniors who work together on every major campaign and Democratic event. Right now, we getting ready for our Democratic booth at the county fair, which requires staffing for over a week. We’re always assigned a back to back booth with the Republicans and we do our best to make the biggest splash. Later in August we put on our Fiesta Latino in the city park, which requires months and months of planning. There’s good food, Latino music, dancing, games for children, contest, prizes ..oh and voter registration, lots of info on candidates and a chance to try out a voting booth. The oldest ones always arrive the earliest to set up, work the hardest during the day and stay late to clean up. I always laugh when the younger volunteers tell us how worn out they are. You advice about reaching out to each other with hugs of love is the best ever. Bless you for your great heart and loving spirit.
Off to nap and drool while the rest of ya rise and shine or whatever phase Chips has neatly put you in, with all the images and smiles … later!

Made me tear up, especially because the poor turtle didn’t have use of his left front leg (the one that was tangled in the rope). Hopefully he just needed to get some circulation flowing through it to be well again.

I’m glad some hospitals are going this route, Rikyrah, but most of us will end up in the ones that serve slop. Even if 90 percent of all hospitals tried something different, most of us would be in the 10 percent. Because that’s how statistics work in real life.
I like the sound of this - hospitals gradually becoming more true to their mandate to help restore health. Though it may not be, IMO this bit of truth in advertising should be attributed to the Obama admin, in particular to FLOTUS’s focus/vision.
