No one like this stuff happening in their neighborhood, but they’ve become numb to it all…you could light that fire under them and take your neighborhood back from the riffraff….hell, you’re already tight with the drug dealer…the rest should be easier! You could make him get a legit job and stop messing up others lives….I was terrified for you and your son reading your account…but some things really happen for a reason…I think this is one of those times!!
oh df, I’m not that person. I am sick a lot of the time, in between trying to work on this house. And as I said, I have not made ANY friends here and I’ve lived here for two years. It is not for lack of trying. I think race in our neighborhood has a lot to do with it. Folks are suspicious of everyone here- including me. As for the drug dealer.. he is well known to everyone- including the police, when he and his friend and I were talking - undercover cops drove by twice- he knew them by name and they all waved at each other. The Hookers are in plain sight every single day.. I have seen a few of them get ticketed occasionally, but for all intents and purposes, prostitution is damn near legal on our streets. I have considered taking pictures of John’s license plates.. but don’t have a cell phone, and my camera is just too obvious. Plus, who would care? Baltimore has big crime, thus what goes on here- I have not seen that it matters to much of anyone outside of here. If I was younger and healthier- I’d probably plow through on this. Your idea is so good, I’m just the wrong person for it, df. I’m sorry, but thank you so much for thinking I could be. ((((((df))))))))

I have talked to all my neighbors since moving in.. the family next door- their little girl played with my granddaughter when she comes over.. and the husband and I have been good, the eldest son hates me.. and the mom runs hot and cold. I love kids so I talk to all the kids when I see them. But someone told them I must be the cause of their pool/ trampoline loss and no matter what I say, I’m not believed.. so I just gave up on them. The couple across the street are silent to everyone except the ladies next door who are bigots- and I believe it was the lady across the street who caused trouble for my AA neighbors- she clearly hates anyone that isn’t white. It is not a comfortable atmosphere. Whenever I’m outside I am friendly, because I like people and many who walk by, stop and just start chatting with me, now to be honest many of them are also high and / or drunk. It’s just that way around here. Now that its getting cold out, I’m doing the inside work on my house. But during the summer, I was outside a lot. Anyhow, we’ll see how things go, maybe they’ll progress. To be fair, ultimately, someone did call the police on Saturday, so they opted to get involved a bit at least.

I slept pretty much all day yesterday. Got in to the house about 2 hours late. Sighs. And the poor missus calls me this morning and says: “Indiana is killing my soul”. We have to get her back home soon. I’m doing research on LVN to BSN programs to which she can apply so that she can get her undergrad degree. So far I’ve settled on Azusa Pacific and Governors’ Western U. But I feel much better, and Stewie comes home today.

I really appreciate how he made a point more than once how this was not just going to be some endless committee meeting and nothing gets done. Anyone who complained about PBO not responding to their satisfaction should pay attention. He basically said he want real change to come from this because he is personally invested in it. We have, not only a President who understands and has lived this himself, but also one who has the willingness and ability to actually make institutional changes.
