President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are scheduled to arrive in India at 11:30 PM ET (tonight) - but you know how it is, Air Force One might have the wind at its back, so they could arrive early - or vice versa!
I’m betting that the Sunday Morning cable shows tomorrow will basically re-air the RWNJ’s Freakshow with Sarah Palin’s crap…but hae ZERO coverage of PBO’s trip to India, and ZERO mention of a historic deal if it went through.
MSM…Keeping the masses dumber than a box of rocks! Off to bed I go…see you all in the morning. Can’t wait to see the President and First Lady on this historic visit:)
It’s such a refreshing change from the childish, petty, partisan crap in the US media. They are not fanboi-ing over the President, but they are clearly in touch with reality, have respect for our President AND their prime minister. They are more focused on the process and how it affects the countries, rather than personal, irrelevant stuff about the leaders.
YESSS…it is amazing…have far has the 4th Estate fallen…if you get a chance HF…please read the article written by HankGreen…one of the You Tube personalities that interiview the President https://medium.com/@hankgreen/holy-shit-i-interviewed-the-president-fa3e8fb44d16
On another note, I observed that you (and a few other TODers) are following a Twitter account called @null. I would advise you to unfollow (and block even) - as it is not a friendly or useful account to follow. I had mentioned this on an earlier thread, but you probably missed it! :)
hf2 - I never followed @null but - as I’m sure you’re aware - a few of us mentioned to Chips that when we R/T from TOD, that account shows up as a recommended twitter account. Some of us blocked it right away, but it still shows up via WP and TOD when R/Ting from here.
I missed your mention on the earlier thread. Have you found out anything about it? Seems to collect thousands of “followers” - even in the short time I’ve noticed it, it went from about 37K to 40K+ -ish. Did a google search but couldn’t actually determine whether it was some hack entity or ???
Yes, I have reason to believe it’s a sock puppet/hacker account from the Anonymous/Wikileaks/Greenwald/Snowden/Brown contingent. It has no followers and the last tweet was in June ’13 - of course about the government/NSA spying….
What a wonderful welcome from the Indian people, too! Can’t wait to watch the visit - I was supposed to be in India for a wedding in November, and the trip fell through at the last minute (visa delays). This will [almost] make up for it! :)
By his very presence in Delhi on Republic Day, Obama is revisiting the most defining relationship of the 20th century after a period of stagnation,’ says Ambassador T P Sreenivasan.
#NamastePOTUS is now the top trend in India! Kudos @ndtv :) SVP

My heart beats with the rhythm of love and grace for the love and respect from India’s people who are displaying the deep respect and appreciation of a great man and lovely First Lady who give back the same to this wonderful people. What a world we are so delighted to be a part of during this great man’s presidency. I am so grateful to be alive and behold it all.
okay i had to look this reference up. ‘ Both leaders now sit down for a cup of tea.. Modi himself pouring out the tea for Obama. Nice optics, TV commentators. Real chai pe charcha. ‘
chai pe charcha is tea and talk, a featured aspect of modi’s campaign. http://chaiwallahsofindia.com/2014/02/chai-pe-charcha-narendra-modis-tea-campaign/
‘ TV reports: India and the United States have reached an agreement on the implementation of the civil nuclear deal following talks between President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi
NDTV quoting sources reported that president Obama stepped in and withdrew the tracking clause, which empowers the US to track the whereabouts of the nuclear material they supply.
An agreement has also been reached on the liability clause which requires suppliers in the US to pay full damages in the event of an accident.’
‘ there is to be a joint press statement after 4 pm. ‘
my time conversion calculator thingy indicates it is now 4:10 pm in new delhi. it’s hard to mess it up, so i’m guessing they’re starting late. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
Missed AF1 arrival in India :( , but woke to see ndtv live coverage of the bi-lateral discussion between Presidents Obama and Modi — very animated, both leaders leaning in towards one another with lots of facial expressions and hand gestures — looked like an Italian get-together, LOL.
Awaiting press conference to announce that the obstacles to the India-US nuclear deal (to allow US private companies to build civilian nuclear power stations in India) have been surmounted, and that PBO will leave India with ANOTHER Presidential accomplishment. (Our despicable MSM is under the delusion that PBO is as lazy as they are, so they ignore the whirlwind of tangible, concrete accomplishments completed in the last two months.)
Appalled that the US media uses this opportunity to bash President Obama, rather than report on the stunning reception offered by the gracious Indian people. I know that part of their GOP agenda to refuse to let Americans in on a secret the entire world knows but us — how respected our President is by other nations, and how he truly is the Leader of the Free World in their eyes.

I loved the joke the commentator made that President Obama could have done this deal 10 years ago!!
The excitement is building up with the Indian media… :)

I was afraid of that. Hopefully, by blocking it on twitter, we’re all okay. Thanks.
Pretty interesting, I must say!! They are slicing and dicing every move and possibility!!
yes..and with a lil humor as well
Yes, they josh each other and it’s not mean-spirited.

I can’t wait for our dear Pete to load some photos on his Instagram…I saw him taking pics when they came down from AF1 :)
THat’s what I’m hoping to see soon.
Welcome to India, Madam First Lady and Mr President.
I love the warm welcome that your PM gave to the President…of which the President returned.. :-D
What a wonderful welcome from the Indian people, too! Can’t wait to watch the visit - I was supposed to be in India for a wedding in November, and the trip fell through at the last minute (visa delays). This will [almost] make up for it!

amk, a very heartfelt welcome from PM Modi. America is grateful!

I love FLOTUS’ dress
Me too… and the matching coat!
POTUS looks handsome too. :-)
Why is this kind of detail about security measures publicized? I don’t think this is wise AT ALL.
Looking forward to pictures of the flowers:

Oh that’s awesome but I don’t think they are not allowing cameras based on NDTV but maybe that will change
Geez my capacity for my vative language is completely gone :)
I understand completely. :-D
11:50 (IST) The Obamas are expected at Rashtrapati Bhavan in about 10 minutes. After being greeted by President Pranab Mukherjee, they will visit Rajghat to lay a wreath and plant a sapling

Weird. Don’t know why the tweet came over like that. Sorry.

So much fun watching these very special moments in the history of India, US history …
I know right? I’m just giddy watching and listening.

12:59 (IST) At Rajghat, POTUS also planted a sapling:
This is the mounted guard I mentioned above.
LOL! 3 of my team members at work are in India for weddings right now.
I love the Namaste salutation, the folded hands expressing the inner intention -” the Divine in me bows to the Divine in you.”
It’s especially beautiful when PBO does it. :-)
13:18 (IST) POTUS reaches Hyderabad House for a working lunch. President Obama and PM Modi will talk business while on a ‘one-on-one’ chat and stroll
