Joe and Mika could watch a Black person get murdered, be provided with evidence that the person was innocent, and they would still side with the murderer and blame black culture. The racist frat boys said they were taught that song by their white alumni and current brothers, SAE has a history of racism, but somehow it’s Black people’s fault. It’s not just the use of the n-word. They were singing about lynching and hanging Black people from trees. White people lynched Black people, they took pictures of the lynchings, they had lynching parties, they cut off chunks of dead Black people’s bodies; but somehow it’s Black people and black culture’s fault. Congratulations on excusing racism, Mika and Joe. Douchebags

My congresspuke gets in trouble for turning his D.C. office into Downton Abbey (other things he did came to light, before and after). This can’t be the FIRST time that Cotton has stained himself. You don’t start out being this heinous, just because you’re in D.C. I hope some investigative reporters are out there, looking at his past.
You’re in Aaron “Peoria” Schock’s district?

Rubio deserves an ass kicking.
I don’t think he heard a word SoS Kerry said because it did not fit his narrative.
THESE SITUATIONS ARE SO EMBARRASSING TO THIS COUNTRY…I FEEL SO FOR PBO, KERRY AND ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS TO DEAL WITH THESE ABSOLUTELY IGNORANT UNEDUCATED FOOLS!
Thanks for posting that. The Youtube video references Rubio getting schooled which I thought was misleading; at least I didn’t see that at all. That punk shithead Rubio was thoroughly obnoxious asking rapid fire questions before Sec. Kerry finished answering the one before. Ughhh, the disrespect to one of our best “ambassadors for peac” AND a former senior senator is appalling.
Is the drinking culture in ss the norm or is it a post 2008 phenomenon? Wasn’t the new director supposed to be an old hand and an “expert” in ss affairs? Given the unprecedented levels of open hatred & bile thrown against this prez from both the people and the pols, I am getting worried.
Wow. Wait till they try to tell us they are becoming a butterfly.
these slugs will never ‘evolve’.
I was disappointed when doj could not make the civil rights charge stick due to whatever reason. But this drip, drip, behind the scene firings seem to be a much better way of doing it.
The systematic dismantling of the structure and agents of racism will have a longer term effect. It will take time but it will happen.
I was disappointed too, and it’s gut-wrenching to think that Michael Brown’s death will be yet another where no justice will be served. This tweet summed it up:
The one encouraging thing in all of this is that these bastards, not just in Ferguson, know they’re being watched now and their bigotry can be more easily exposed, whether by someone with a camera on their phone or access to their emails, etc. Like the Oklahoma scum. Maybe they’ll be slower to be so openly vile, fearing there might just be consequences - which there never were before.
Yes, I agree. It’s progress but at an awful price. I thought that the DOJ was also going to take swift action in the murder of Tamir Rice but so far it’s not been my definition of swift. Those fucking cops should be in prison FOR LIFE.
I know it’s stupid to compare the horror of all these recent cases Forus, one’s as awful as the other, but the murder of Tamir Rice - and that’s what it was - is the one that burns deepest. Because of his age, I suppose, and the shock of that video. That there have been no charges, when the video evidence is there, is just beyond belief. But then, the killers of Eric Garner got away with it too, despite video evidence.
It makes me feel like the world is fucked up beyond hope. That it’s so obvious they went hunting for a black kid to kill, found one on a playground, jumped out and shot him, watched him bleed while they handcuffed his little sister. Where is the outrage over this?? It might be too much to march and protest every murder every day but this one is on tape with the poor little boy murdered in broad daylight.
That’s it Forus, it’s on ****ing tape. And not only did the tape prove it was murder, it proved the cops were lying with their account of what happened. And still nothing happens. They executed him, pure and simple, they had been told he was black so they went there with no other intention than to kill him. It’s just too much.
Good evening Nerdy, Chips & TOD! :)
And a very good evening to you, Hopefruit :-)
A guy is looking for a place to sit in a crowded university library.
He asked a girl in the library: “Do you mind if I sit beside you?
The girl replied in a loud voice: “NO,I DON’T WANT TO SPEND THE NIGHT WITH YOU!”
All the students in the library started staring at the guy; he was truly embarrassed
and moved to another table.
After a couple of minutes, the girl walked quietly to the guy’s table and said with
a laugh: “I study psychology, and I know what a man is thinking. I guess you felt embarrassed, right?”
The guy then responded in a loud voice: “$500 FOR ONE NIGHT? . . . THAT’S ROBBERY!”
All the people in the library looked at the girl in shock.
The guy then said quietly: “I study law: I know how to screw people.”.
Ha! :-D
Cuba and the United States have re-established direct telephone links for the first time in 15 years, Cuba’s state telecommunications company says.
The company, Etecsa, said initially the link would only be for phone calls.
Telephone calls have until now passed through a third country, making them very expensive.
It is the first agreement signed between both countries since the announcement last December that the two states would renew diplomatic ties.
Americans and Cubans will now be able to make direct calls to each other’s countries.
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-31844847
yet another rethug temper tantrum - checked.
I noticed that no Iowa newspapers were on the national list of those with editorials condemning the #47Traitors and their letter. Finally this evening, however, the Des Moines Register has finally offered the following, about Iowa’s two GOP senators’ participation: http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/opinion/columnists/kathie-obradovich/2015/03/11/obradovich-ernst-grassley-iran-letter/70173200/. Not sure what I think of it, but the commenters seem rightfully disgusted. :-(
“Both sides do it” and “It is NOT treason” - its a disgusting editorial - So sick of seeing the media blame PBO because the GOP is out of control full of racism and hatred.
With direct phone links re-established between Cuba and US, even Mother of LL might start shining to PBO. It’ll sure be cheaper to call.
BWAAHAHAHAHAAA
They don’t even THINK about how they sound, do they?
“Stop being happy about people getting healthcare coverage!”
RWNJs will rejoice over this quote from @SenJohnBarrasso:
“Those costs were dropping because of decreases in healthcare spending and a smaller-than-expected enrollment drive — which Barrasso said is nothing to celebrate…”
… until someone says to them “decreases in healthcare spending is a bad thing?”
The best part is at the end of the article:
“Barrasso is leading the Senate’s working group to create an ObamaCare alternative.”
Stupendous round-up, Nerdy. Thank you.
Was I the only one who missed the news about PBO making labor union organizing easier?
I’m sure Ed, “I’m all about the workers” will be talking about this tomorrow.
Just kidding.

Nerdy and Chips, I was just thinking that I see so little mention of cable political shows here anymore. I think the last time I watched a bit of Chris Hayes (?!?!? I know!!) and Rachel was 1 or 2 nights when Ferguson was being attached by militarized cops in tanks. On a slow day here maybe you can create one of those polls; I would be very curious to see how many shows are watched anymore.
We haven’t turned one of those shows on in more than a year, I think. I know we haven’t since last July. Life is much better…..they all had the same stories on, regurgitated the same stuff, and got tedious…..LOD was quite in love with himself, Rev. Al yelled, Chris Hayes was pedantic, Rachel sometimes was great, and sometimes blah…..Found we were better off not even turning the TV on. When Keith would skewer GWB, life was great…..but once he left, the station dived.
I watch Netflix or Acorn “the best in British TV” sleep a lot better…….good mysteries and shows.
You nailed it. LOD is soooo in love with himself and so is Rachel. I watch sports and CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood and sometimes 60 Minutes.
why would anyone watch cable noise? all the news important stuff are being reported right here.
100%. With Nerdy’s “A Tweet Or Two” I can catch up on the day’s news really easily when I get home from work!
I had to let them go. Their wishy washy behavior was getting on my last nerve, forus. I just couldn’t take it anymore. Now I get my news from the ‘net, and I’m very choosey which journalists’ work I read.

Hail…. I’ve been working hard so have been unable to stay on top of village life (will get better after this month). However, in my quick perusals of twitter &/ here I haven’t noticed anyone giving Mitch McConnell a hard time. I sure hope tweeters are not truly allowing him to skate under the radar. What’s the point of guys like him and McCain bragging about their years in the Senate yet not showing responsible leadership when it should count? I feel we should be using every opportunity they give us to draw attention to those occasions when instead of serving, they actually threaten the well-being of the nation.
