This event was a joy to watch. The arrivals were super cute as the young chefs were interviewed and talked about themselves. It was hard to keep from tearing up at the young girl’s introduction speech for FLOTUS. And when POTUS walked into the room, the squeals were really precious. Whoever thought up this event is a GENIUS.
I’m sure Bernie Sanders thought of it :-/

Our Secretary of Education Denise Juneau was at the event and our Lt Governor just tweeted out that they are having an event August 17 in Helena. Hope all the states the youth came from will follow up with events to showcase all that went on.

Alas… After them, we may be back to business as usual, and what a shame that will be. Hopefully, we will REMEMBER… Reminds me of a movie, maybe one of the earlier Mad Max films, where a bunch of “lost kids” got together on a regular basis to tell stories about their history, because “‘membering” was so important to them. They had to keep the stories alive, and they did.

I listen to the speech FLOTUS gave to the Native Americans yesterday again and I am just amazed at her. I guess I wasn’t the only one because the young native Americans there seem to be amaze at what she said and some even at her hugs. I guess you are suppose to never give up, but i remember one of my dreams were to maybe meet the First Lady before she and POTUS leave the White House. Still time.

It seems that Donald Trump will be holding a big Ship Out The Brown People wingding in Arizona on Saturday. (How can I so unfairly characterize Mr. Trump’s big event? Well, his co-star will be sociopathic nutbag Joe Arpaio.) Apparently, demand is exceeding supply, seating-wise, and this is giving the whim-whams to Republicans who are not themselves, as Spy indelibly wrote, short-fingered vulgarians.
In an interview with The Washington Post on Thursday, Flake said both Trump and Arpaio’s inflammatory rhetoric about immigrants and about President Obama’s place of birth are not indicative of the Republican Party’s values. The event at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix is hosted by the Republican Party of Maricopa County, but Flake said he had called the party chairman to ask him not to sponsor the event. “As an elected official and as a Republican, I’m not excited about this, to say the least,” Flake said. “I don’t think that [Trump’s] views are reflective of the party, particularly in Arizona, a border state.”
And, apparently, the Maricopa County Republicans told a sitting U.S. Senate to go whistle. They want to hear from Trump and Arpaio.
AH, yes…and I emailed the naive little Senator Flake yesterday and told him he’s in denial and these are the people that actually hijacked his party. For reals. Told him that his party gets to own all of this and that if he didn’t like this…then he needs to get fixing the mess they made.
