      thanks;

      I was just refreshing to get the updates from today;

      President Obama and his team are always working and trying to move the world forward => not an easy task given all the political cockroaches that abound

    I’m on treadmill so have Rachel on. She just posed two questions in light of Kevin McCarthy’s admission: Should HRC testify in Octiber and should the D’s on that committee stay there or should they walk? What say you all?

      TN, McCarthy has admitted that the whole committee is a farce and HRC should make a big deal of that as should all the Ds on the committee. If she were really skilled, she could testify and make them all look like fools, but I’m not certain she can pull that off.

    My day (and it has just started).

    We have a gaggle (?) of resident monkeys (which we never could get rid of, short of shootin’ ’em up).

    One of them, obviously pregnant, was sitting outside my grilled door. Being the nut that I am, I started feeding her some peanuts and soon the gaggle ganged up on me and I had to empty my entire stash.

    jtp, who loves loitering around the compound in the morning, chasing squirrels, crows, parrots and not to mention the monkeys was coming back home from his am constitutionals (such as they are). Saw me and the monkeys, braked hard and stood there for a minute with a quizzical what the fuck are you doing playing with those critters look. I loled so loud that the monkeys scattered.

    The blighter is now sitting under my chair sleeping.

    Top that obama.

      RW Maggie is a corporate sockpuppet. Even when she says something that seems true I can’t trust it.
      Of course Clintonworld is ratcheting up the don’t let Joe run noise.
      Remember when PBO joked that the Clinton campaign was interviewing his kindergarten teacher?

      As prettyfoot implies, waiting for a decision is not so easy.

        Well, today’s reporting is that those close to VP Biden say he isn’t going to join the October DNC debate and will not likely make a decision until the end of the month. They now tend to think he will not be joining the race. I guess we’ll know soon enough.

      Mayor de Blasio said recently that we didn’t need any more (D) candidates for president.
      I can’t imagine what his long term plan is. He must think Bernie can win the nomination. Astonishing. What can he be up to?

        He’s trying to influence the direction of the party.
        I’m trying to figure out how he is going to do this forum in Iowa without violating DNC rules. I guess they’ve worked that out.

      I like Bill De Blasio but I think he should be more focused on his job as Mayor of New York City than being a national figure. His approval ratings have declined in the city and I think it’s because he is spending too much time on national politics.

    They really think they are above the law - Australia is not yet a US state & United were seriously wrong to allow him to fly
    http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-10-01/troy-newman-detained-after-flying-to-melbourne/6819410

    American anti-abortion activist Troy Newman has been detained at Melbourne Airport, after travelling to Australia even though his visa had been cancelled.

    But the ABC understands he flew on a United Airlines flight, and a spokeswoman for Immigration Minister Peter Dutton said the airline now faces a fine for carriage of a person who does not hold a valid visa.

    “Since Mr Newman-Mariotti does not hold a visa, he is unable to enter Australia and remains in the presence of ABF (Australian Border Force) officials at the Melbourne Airport pending his removal,” the spokeswoman said.

      the poutrage from the effing operation rescue is hilarious. karma, bitchez.

      and yes, united should be fined heavily so that they don’t think americans are above local laws.

        I noticed one query on BJ - “Why does he need a visa to travel to Australia” - so someone thinks we are the 51st state.

        Far as I know (could be wrong) the fining of Airlines came into effect because that was the best way to stop them carrying people without visas.

      the US also penalizes (heavily for that matter), any airline that brings a person to the US without a valid visa (if your country is one of those who is required to have a visa for entry);

      that is why the US airlines vigorously double-check your visa BEFORE you leave your point of departure;

      I know this from experience during one of those government closures

        October 1, 2025 at 4:05 pm

        Well this was a US airline who allowed someone without a visa to fly. They are digital visas - so they should have known it was revoked. Sadly, late yesterday, they seemed to be discussing whether he could stay.

    And then I found a senate enquiry (Australia) that made the following comment

    “Companies are not entitled to human rights. ” Committee members must have missed that the US has turned companies into people.

    watched the prez at the state democratic legistators meeting, loved it. that’s pretty much the best 15 minute summation of how to win the 2016 election. democrats not following the Obama playbook do so at their own risk.
