Trump and Putin discussed outcome of Mueller probe as part of hourlong phone conversation, White House says https://t.co/zBLOoIKpAY
— The Washington Post (@washingtonpost) May 3, 2025
Trump might as well have told Putin, “You’re cleared to keep up your attack on our democracy, Vlad. Except I can’t quite say it that way, if you catch my drift. We still have the death penalty for treason. Yuck yuck.”https://t.co/gCqPmhHEAf
Are you kidding me? Trump was discussing the Mueller report with Putin, are you kidding me? So he is discussing the report with the enemy, Republicans you have no problem with this. OMG!!!!!!!!
Statement by the President on the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Dachau On this day, we remember when American forces liberated Dachau 70 years ago, dismantling the first concentration camp established by the Nazi regime. Dachau is a lesson in the evolution of darkness, how unchecked intolerance and hatred spiral out of control. From its sinister inception in 1933, Dachau held political prisoners – opponents of the Third Reich. It became the prototype for Nazi concentration camps and the training ground for Schutzstaffel (SS) camp guards. As the seed of Nazi evil grew, the camp swelled with thousands of others across Europe targeted by the Nazis, including Jews, other religious sects, Sinti, Roma, LGBT persons, the disabled, and those deemed asocial. Our hearts are heavy in remembrance of the more than 40,000 individuals from every walk of life who died, and the more than 200,000 who suffered at Dachau. As we reflect on the anniversary of Dachau’s liberation, we draw inspiration from, and recall with gratitude, the sacrifices of so many Americans – in particular our brave soldiers – to win victory over oppression. Drawing from the words of Captain Timothy Brennan, who wrote to his wife and child after liberating the camp - “You cannot imagine that such things exist in a civilized world” – we fervently vow that such atrocities will never happen again. History will not repeat itself.
May I say,
The “acceleration” attacks on our fellow human beings in the Jewish community seem related to Trump’s stochastic remarks at rallies.
And imo Trump is not hiding his affinities for a certain German leader who demanded control of Czechoslovakia (or was it Ukraine) and then Poland, and started a world war.

Chairman Nadler’s yesterday:
“Attorney General Barr has informed us that he will not appear today.
Although we worked to accommodate his concerns, he objects to the prospect of answering questions by Staff Counsel, to the possibility that we may go into executive session to discuss certain sensitive topics. Given the Attorney General’s lack of candor before other Congressional Committees, I believe my colleagues and I were right to insist on the extended questions. To my knowledge not even the ranking member was opposed to the idea of moving into closed session if necessary. And even if democrats and republicans disagree on the format of this hearing, we must come together to protect the integrity of this Chamber. The Administration may not dictate the terms of a hearing in this hearing room. The challenge we face is bigger than a single witness. Late last night the Department of Justice wrote to inform us that they will ignore our subpoena for the unredacted Mueller report and the underlying evidence. They have made no meaningful attempt at accommodating that subpoena which was due yesterday. The letter references the Attorney General’s offer to 12 members of Congress - 12 out of 435 - to look behind “some” not all of the redactions provided that we agreed not to discuss what we see with our colleagues, that we leave our notes behind at the Department of Justice.”
It is urgent that we see the documents we have subpoenaed. And I cannot agree to conditions that prevent me from discussing the full report with my colleagues, that prevent the House from acting on the full report in any meaningful way. A …designed to prevent us from taking official action is no accommodation at all. Every member. of this Committee, democratic and republican alike can understand the consequences when the executive branch tells us that they will simply ignore a lawful subpoena from Congress. If left unchecked, this act of obstruction will make it that much harder for us to hold the executive branch accountable for waste, fraud and abuse, or to enact legislation to curb that kind of misconduct or any kind of misconduct, no matter which party holds this Chamber or the White House at a given moment.
Chairman Nadler: “The challenge we face is also bigger than the Mueller report.
If all we knew about President Trump were contained in the four corners of that report, there would be good reason to question his fitness for office. The report is not where the story ends. In the days since the Department of Justice released the redacted version of the report, President Trump has told Congress that he plans to fight ALL of our subpoenas. The average person is not free to ignore a congressional subpoena - nor is the President. This promise to obstruct our work extends far beyond his contacts with the Russian government and allegations of obstruction of justice. The President is also preventing us from obtaining information about voting rights, ACA litigation, and his cruel family separation policy, among other matters.”
Chairman Nadler:” The challenge we face is also not limited to this Committee. In recent weeks Administration witnesses have simply failed to show the properly noticed depositions. The Secretary of the Treasury continues to ignore his clear statutory obligation to produce the President’s tax returns. The President’s private attorneys sued Chairman Cummings in his personal capacity in an attempt to block the release of certain financial documents.”
Chairman Nadler: “Ladies and gentlemen, the challenge that we face is that the President of the United States wants desperately to prevent Congress, the co-equal branch of government, from providing any check whatsoever on even his most reckless decisions. He is trying to render Congress INERT as a separate and equal co-branch of government. The challenge we face is if we don’t stand up to him together TODAY, we risk forever losing the power to stand up to any President in the future.”
In a lawful, peaceful, humble, sober, considered, responsible, and professional way, the Democrats in the House of Representatives have to *unleash the freakin' hounds of war* on Trump and his lawless band of GOP cronies. Our rule of law depends on it.
So there's this: Barr's net worth is about $20 million, but his law firm represents Alfa Bank, a Russian criminal cartel controlled bank. The head of Alfa is Mikahil Fridman, who has ties to Manafort, and others. /1

(The last part of) Chairman Nadler’s statement at Barr’s no-show two days ago:
Chairman Nadler:
“The Attorney General of the United States is sworn to uphold the Constitution as our nation’s chief law enforcement officer. He has an obligation to do everything in his power to warn the President of the damage he risks and the liability he assumes by directly threatening our system of checks and balances. Sadly, the Attorney General has failed in that responsibility. He has failed to check the President’s worst instincts. He has not only misrepresented the findings of the Special Counsel. He has failed to protect the Special Counsel’s investigation from unfair political attacks. He has himself unfairly attacked the Special Counsel’s investigation. He has failed the men and women of the Department by placing the needs of the President over the fair administration of justice. He has even failed to show up today. Yes, we will continue to negotiate for access to the full report. And yes, we will have no choice but to move quickly to hold the Attorney General in contempt if he stalls or fails to negotiate in good faith. But the Attorney General must make a choice. Every one of us must make the same choice. That choice is now an obligation of our office. The choice is simple: we can stand up to this President in defense of the country and the Constitution we love, or we can let the moment pass us by. I do not know what Attorney General Barr will choose. I do not know what my Republican colleagues will choose. But I am certain that there is no way forward for this country that does not include a reckoning with this clear and present danger to our constitutional order. History will judge us for how we face this challenge. We will all be held accountable, one way or the other. And if he does not provide this Committee with the information it demands and the respect that it deserves, Mr. Barr’s moment of accountability will come soon enough.”

New Yorker 2017:
“In six months, Kelly eliminated guidelines that governed federal immigration agents’ work; vastly expanded the categories of immigrants being targeted for deportation; threatened to abandon the Obama-era program that grants legal status to undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children; and has even broached the idea of splitting up mothers and children at the border to “deter” people from coming to the U.S. Under Kelly, immigration arrests in the U.S. increased by forty per cent and D.H.S became one of the few branches of the federal government that has been both willing and able to execute Trump’s policy priorities.”

We are effectively living in an autocracy. It is still a wobbly autocracy, but it is one all the same. I find the cognitive load of it very difficult to process. We- you, and me- we didn't do enough. We are the majority, and yet we let the country fall to an autocrat.
Hey the Trump Mafia Regime is SUBSERVIENT to Putin’s Mafia State.
Justin, I didn’t do that.
You didn’t do that.
These mobsters will probably be responsible for a lot more open/concealed crimes of division, national security problems, misinformation, gross lies, intimidation and vote rigging. I didn’t do that. Trump regime and co-conspirators are refusing to acknowledge or do anything about it. I didn’t do that. We didn’t do that. Things we can do: 1) Blitz the election. 2) Hold Mafia Don accountable for his crimes against America, her people, the planet, her children, the future, be ready to charge Mafia Don with financial corruption in all its forms, monitor the media, stay focused and…hold hands.

Good morning TOD. I just heard Donny Deutsch earlier on AM Joy. He used this analogy: If someone has cancer, he/she doesn’t begin with trial treatments, but ATTACKS it full force right from the start. Trump and the whole administration is a cancer on our country and now that the Dems at least have the House, they have GOT to start ATTACKING with the full force of everything they can do. He said a lot more than that, but I thought that was such a good analogy. Would be interested in hearing from some of you on what/how you believe the Dems should be handling this.
Another topic. MY husband is having a stint put in Monday morning. Be there at 8:00, procedure at 10:00. 70% blockage in front artery from calcium buildup. Also, for last few months, he’s been having a lot of pain on the outer part of his thighs. Sometimes it’s the left, sometimes the right, but mostly the right. Sciatic?? IT bands?? we are guessing one of the other. When this heart issue gets taken care of, he will work with our PCP to start getting some answers about the pain. Couple months ago, he was diagnosed with bronchiectasis. Lots of congestion in right lower lobe of his lung. No cure, only treatment to get/keep it under control. He hasn’t been hiking much at all…….and that causes some mental/emotional issues for him. He’s done a few hikes last couple of months, but it’s always so difficult. Please keep us in your thoughts the next few days. Thanks!
I was at our walk-in clinic when they opened this morning. My typical bronchitis. Usually go to our pulmonologist when it first starts, but we were out-of-town Thursday and most of yesterday so couldn’t make it to see him to get my strong steroid shot. Got that and a Z-pak this morning. Should put me on the mend by tomorrow. Right now, I feel like crap and can hardly talk.
Okay, enough about me/my problems. Hope all of you are hanging in there and have a good weekend.
Sweetness!! So sorry to hear this. Hope hubby feels better after the stent… as far as the thighs… me too! In fact , I had a muscle spasm so badly in my hamstring the other day after tutoring that almost put me on the ground! I’ve been taking magnesium… cane home from that episode and drank some right down. Feeling much better. He should ask his doctor if he can take a supplement… might help. Hugs and love. YOU feel better too:) take good care

But we must not play the masochist to his sadist. Hey I didn’t dignify Game of Thrones! Each time I tried to watch it there was a rape. However millions were undeterred. So come on Democrats there must be a relentless NO MERCY battlecry out there!

Rep. Green (D-TX) on MSNBC:
“I’m concerned if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected.
If we don’t impeach him, he will say he’s been vindicated. He will say the Democrats had an overwhelming majority in the house and didn’t take up impeachment. He will say we H constitutional duty and we didn’t. He will say he’s been vindicated. Here’s what I say, we’re confronting a constitutional crisis as I speak to you. As I look the people of America in the eye, I’m telling you, we have a constitutional crisis. The chief executive office of the president of the United States refuses to comply with subpoenas and says he will order others to do so, this creates a constitutional crisis but this isn’t the genesis of it. It started when the president decided he would fire Mr. Comey for his fair failure — pardon me, as a result of his desire not to be investigated.”
-Given the lengths the Trump regime has already gone to cover-up, hard to see how the high walls of dirt will come to light without Impeachment.
Rep Green is reiterating what many have been saying - We must Impeach Trump irrespective of what Republicans do. We must force every Republican, in the House and Senate to vote. We have the power to do so since we control the House.
I’m with Rep Green. Somehow, we must get the Dem caucus and the majority of our citizens to understand “THE URGENCY OF NOW…” this reply by @DevaneKim sums it up nicely…
Black people know what it's like to be hostages to corrupt power in their own country. White people don't.They think someone will come forward and save them, because this just isn't fair. Black people know no one is coming to save them and there is no "fair." It's up to you.
Maybe the “If bits were bombs” meme can help focus everyone’s attention that if what Vlad’s been doing, in earnest since ~ 2012, were conventional warfare America would be a (radioactive) pile of rubble. For real.
Not a sound as he installed a Russian asset in the White House and seeded the Senate & House with collaborators.
"If bits were bombs" Vlad has already caused near irrepairable damage. #Trump & @GOP know 2 facts: Donnie won because of Vlad's bits & they need those bits to win again.

This is a brilliant concept, and making a difference (someone slow to find these things, but quick to share!)
♥️🕰
I saw that….tsk tsk…seems that Amy does not know which way is up…if she does not understand the reacist obstruction that faced Pres Obama from the GOP …and if she thinks that things will be different because she is a white woman..than she has not been paying attention…she does not seem to know that we are in a battle for the Soul of our Country..
Dreamt that Putin saw the full unreacted version of the M. report. Humf…so weird.
heh. unredacted.
Instead of transcribing from the video..(duh)…I found this today on Chairman Nadler’s site = nadler.house.gov
- great for keeping track of his statements.
(Another fake Mr. Religiosity.)
Morning everyone
Yes, wouldn’t you?! Only Vlad helped him get there so he’s not going to bite the hand that helped him. Treasonous bastard. Illegitimate fraud
HELLO!!!!! This isn’t brain surgery!!! They really need a damn POLL for this???
This gives me hope. Good read with great questions

🙂
If bet my house they really talk like that about him behind his back
So wonderful:)
Sketchy
LOL
Sending your husband and you positive healing thoughts. Feel / get better soon Tmntngirl1.
{[Tnmtngirl}} I will keep you and your husband in my prayers. ❤️🙏
I do believe Frank is spot on
I heard him say this. Totally agree. I heard all of Joy’s show this morning. She brings it every time she’s on, whether her own show or subbing for someone.

LIVE NOW: Julian Castro holds campaign rally in Dallas, Texas - https://abcnews.go.com/Live
Hope he asked her first before commenting, because she makes all her own decisions! Go, Stacey!
WE need these two people in the senate
he is getting in becauseeeeeeeeee??
Trump, Putin, Koch and co-conspirators like McConnell and Graham will delay, distract, destroy, threaten.
Revenge and fear have Trump in their thrall right now. He initiated the call to Putin because he needed guidance.
But we must not play the masochist to his sadist. Hey I didn’t dignify Game of Thrones! Each time I tried to watch it there was a rape. However millions were undeterred. So come on Democrats there must be a relentless NO MERCY battlecry out there!
NO.MERCY.
THIS! #NOMERCY
YUP!!!
bbl …
great Bobfr, thanks for everything you do.
Thank you bridgeriverpass. I extend the same heartfelt thanks to you!
No guts; no accountability.
bbl …
I’m with Rep Green. Somehow, we must get the Dem caucus and the majority of our citizens to understand “THE URGENCY OF NOW…” this reply by @DevaneKim sums it up nicely…
Agree!!
I love the way she interacts with young people.
I do, as well. That alone says so much about her.
Though I’m not taking sides at all at this stage, I can respect Senator Warren for this response.
Greetings, VC! I love this reply and that she didn’t take the bait. Me either. At this point other than Bernie and Tulsi Gabbard I will vote for whoever wins the primary.
Excellent response
Somebody damn well should!!
Jamie Harrison. Young AA. Was chair of SC DNC. Every time I’ve heard him interviewed or speak, have been very impressed.
More obstruction
SWEEEEEET!!!!
