Chat away – normal service will resume in a day or two 😉
Darn it! Missed it by a hair!. So you get a virtual cupcake. 😀
Breaking news- yellow italics fit their own poll!
I love Rev Al!
Romney is killing it in NH.
He has this wrapped up early.
It’s over. I can hear the media saying bad news for Obama!
There’s no one I want to run against more than this weasel. I can’t wait for the president to clean the flood with this ugly ass.
Flood, floor, both. 🙂
The problem is, he has wall street on his side big time and thus, the corporate media.
Just heard Candy Crowley say that when it comes down to actual voting in the caucuses and primaries that Repubs will vote for Romney, the candidate who “is going to” defeat President Obama. She was not just planting a seed for CNN viewers, she was going ahead and stating a conclusion, right out loud, as if it were fact. On CNN, “the most trusted name in news”. (Do they even have the nerve to say that any more?)
Just e-mail her the following.
Why are you saying the following : “when it comes down to actual voting in the caucuses and primaries that Repubs will vote for Romney, the candidate who “is going to” defeat President Obama”
Do you work for the Romney campaign ? Are you a surrogate for Mitt Romney or are you a reporter for CNN?
You should resign immediately……Your bias for Republicans is becoming an embarrassment or are you paid for that also ?
What happened to CNN ” The most trusted name in news” ????
Jovie, take it from the CA voters last year….MONEY DOES NOT ALWAYS BUY AN ELECTION. President Obama has boots on the ground and OFA plus there are some Republicans that will never vote for Rommney.
It all works. If I hear Tweety say one more time what a threat Romney is because of the Pennsyltucky ‘working class’ who don’t like black people, I’m going to scream.
So according to Tweety, Obama is ‘remote’ and can’t connect. And Romney can? Seriously?
Maybe Willard will sing “Who Let the Dogs Out” again to clinch the black vote.
That was my favorite out of Romney’s mouth for as long as he’s been in the public eye. Says VOLUMES about him. Almost as good as Trump’s claim – something about liking or having friends among “the blacks.” These people are so despicable and disingenuous, it’s an embarrassment in front of the whole world!
Tweety is a dolt who is obsessed with the President’s race. Tell Tweety I said go to HELL!
Is this the same group of Pennsyltucky working class who helped give PBO a ten percent win over McCain in PA? Did it take them three years to discover the president wasn’t white? Lord, these pundits are as dumb as dirt.
They cling to Guns and religion!
Um, does Tweety Remember that Obama won Pennsylvania? Just sayin’
Don’t listen to Crowley or Matthews. I have made that choice not too.
Amen! Tools/Fools, same diff.
I figure we should work to paint Romney as he is the top 1%, not as he says part of the unemployed. When he talks of only having a 2 bedroom house WE need to say how many square feet it is and its market value. WE need to remind others he had an $18 million dollar retirement payment from Bain this year. He is not one of us. WE need to find instances of differences in what he has said from reality. WE need to remind others that sending Medicaid matters to the states does not solve the problem but only brings it to their own doorstep and since states are already strapped it probably means letting it go. The social security and Medicare programs are meant to become privatized by the GOP. WE need to tell them that what they are saying about Obamacare is lies and tell the real tale.
I think our President also wants him to be the nominee.
They have expected him to be the nominee for three years. So, I am sure they have a good game plan.
That said, Romney scares because everybody says he is a moderate. Which will appeal to Indies. He ain’t no moderate.
More and more folks are realizing that he’s not a moderate. He’s self-serving arrogant opportunist, that’s all. Watch his arse get taken down clean in 2012. He will never, ever run for President again!
KNOW…without a doubt…and any repub who has a ounce of sense KNOW this truth too!
NO…HE’S A HUGE FLIP FLOPPER WITH NO CORE…THE PRESIDENT IS READY FOR HIM…WE ARE READY FOR WILLARD TOO!!!
I agree. I think that PBO despise this man. It takes a lot to make Barack Obama really “hate” someone, but I think this ugly liar just did it. They won’t even have to work, they got so much stuff on him. They’ll make him the Wall Street candidate and PBO will clean the floor with him in the debates.
Beside, PBO doesn’t run against whatever clown they’ll choose. He runs only agaisnt the economy.
What if euro crashes? According to the media, that’s obamas fault, and everybody will then pull the lever for Romney.
According to the pundits!
Jovie, please chill, will you?
Jovie…do you get joy from repeating negative sh*t that these so called pundits and whoever and whatever are paid to say (truth or not)? I haven’t been on the site long enough to know if you are just being sarcastic, but I can always count n you to bring me down…
Jovie comes across to me as being hilariously sarcastic. I get a kick out of her comments. The “pundits” are part of the clown show.
Agreed. I love reading Jovies insights, whether it is sarcastic or informative. Also agree with Betsy’s comments below on not taking this personally.
My reading too. Clearly, it is folly to blame the President for the mishaps of part of a continent’s currency. Her comment had a knowing wink, what with the mention of the lever and all. Context and content matter.
Happy Holidays to Chipsticks and everyone at TOD! De-lurking to say that I appreciate Jovie’s comments on this blog. The snark and humor in Jovie’s comments are sometimes laugh out loud funny. Indeed they are much appreciated by this lurker.
Agreed. Jovie’s comments are often unnerving and unsettling. It gets old and frustrating. You either have faith in PBO or you don’t? The reality is complaining and nervous energy is not support. Those things do not win elections. At least if you don’t have faith, don’t serve to undermine the momentum of the ground troops, people who are actually donating and volunteering. This is not a lost cause.
Don’t be so hard on one of our most ardent supporters of PBO that I have seen since I came into this community. Let’s keep the personal out of it, please, and realize that sometimes people need to express the views that others are afraid to. This is a place where supporters of PBO come, even when they are worried. We need to embrace them and tell them not to worry. We have his back, we’ve had a lot of success pushing back, and Jovie’s articles about what’s going on in many areas of gov’t give me ammunition when I am up against an ignorant Republican colleague (of which there are many).
In the end, we are all on the same page: the re-election of President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe BIden. Go 2012!
BWD, I don’t think he despises him, but he surely has NO respect for this guy, and he KNOWS that Romney is absolutely UNqualified to lead the United States and the free world. President Obama is extremely knowledgeable and competent in both domestic and foreign affairs so he surely can identify an empty suit when he sees one.
In Iowa, Obama toils while GOP roars, then departs
One presidential campaign claims an impressive effort in Iowa this year: eight offices opened, 350,000 phone calls to potential supporters and 1,280 events to recruit and train volunteers.
It’s not Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich or Ron Paul. It’s Obama for America, the president’s re-election campaign, which badly wants to win this battleground state in November, as it did in 2008….
Obama’s ground game “is already in place,” Walters said. “It’s just a matter of growing it.”
Iowa Democratic Chairwoman Chair Sue Dvorsky underscored the methodical nature of the efforts in a conference call with reporters Wednesday.
Since April, she said, “this has been a systematic grassroots effort. The same exact way we did it last time. It isn’t very glamorous. It’s not a very secret plan. It is voter to voter, one-to-one, then a street, then a precinct, then a county.”
Dvorsky said Obama will beam “a live address to Iowa Democrats in every caucus site next Tuesday night.
How wonderful it would be if Democrats outnumber Teapublicans on caucus night! 😆
This is what the moronic and incompetent GOP and Media don’t understand and will never comprehend. PBO and his team are preparing themselves for any eventuality and any outcome. They have plan A, B, C, to Z. They’ve been slugging away in the background while the stupid media blow hot air the GOP clown candidates way. The one thing (amongst the plethora) the GOP doesn’t have is President Barack Obama. He is a force to be reckoned with and when he begins campaigning in earnest or debates their eventual clown nominee; he’ll destroy them. I for one cannot wait to sit down (after my grassroots work for OFA), grab a bag of M&Ms (not the peanut kind – YUCK!) and watch!
I love the M&Ms in the purple package. Dark chocolate. Yummy. Nom nom nom…
UT and Isonprize, do not forget the popcorn/plain/garlic/cinnamon and olive oil. I have ordered two more machines just for 2012. You know after working with OFA, a hot batch of popcorn will be just delightful. I have the large machine for the 3 debates where POB will mop the floor with whomever. HZ
Here is that silly poll-
So rootin’ tootin’ Rick Perry is blasting President Obama for not having a parade for the returning Troops.
When you can’t deliver to the citizenry purpose and direction you give them “Bread and Circuses,” just as Commodus did in “Gladiator.” What is it with Republicans and their need to play the patriotism card whenever it’s convenient for them. You want to honor the Troops, Ricky? You can start by making sure they get all the medical and financial help they and their family will need to get back to a normal life, or whatever semblance of a normal life they had before this unnecessary war. Rick Perry, you are an asshole, an asshole of gigantic proportions. You might be the stupidest and most dangerous Politician to ever seek the Presidency. President Bush had some likeability, he had his faults. I don’t think President Bush was a mean and angry man, I just think he was in over his head. But you Rick Perry you are mean, angry, and stupid. What Governor would forget the name of a government agency he wants to abolish? What Governor would suggest secessionist from the United States of America as a solution to any problem? Rick Perry you are morally bankrupt, your ideas have the strength of toilet paper, which incidentally I think you use to write those ideas down on. So when your sorry spectacle of a campaign is over you can go back to Texas and clear all the brush you want to at beautiful and tranquil “Niggerhead Ranch” y’all come back now, ya hear.
Yeah. Bloomberg is blaming the Pentagon for no ticker tape parade. The Pentagon said, ‘do what you want. It’s your city. You don’t need our permission.” But leave it to the Fox boobs and their followers to translate that into blaming Obama.
Let’s be clear: George Bush and his administration are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. We will never know what we lost because of the outing of Valerie Plame, for which they should all be at Guantanamo.
A President McCain(Gag) would have had us in perpetual war. But it’s Obama’s fault?
I loathe these people.
The “no parade for returning troops” has been on every local newspaper’s website across the country. Did AP take that from FOX, or vice versa? I get furious at this kind of junk. Whenever Obama’s poll numbers edge up, this kind of story always appears. Pretty amazing what’s going on.
Hi Dotster, what’s the news from your family? Back to normal yet?
Not affected by the power outage this time, thankfully. Thanks for asking.
No one cares about a fucking parade, not when we still have troops still in Afghanistan. This is just more manufactured outrage created by Fox and the fucked up ‘liberal” media is following along. Dumbasses. 🙄
And if there was a parade they’d be complaining about the price.
Yup, FOR SURE. The headlines, top story would be “Parade for troops cost $1,000,000,000,000,000!!! Obama spends your money!!”
They’d preface their criticism with “…and in this economy….”
And of course the media will be playing along, clutching their fucking pearls.
Like I mentioned before, it’s all bullshit
…the price or the fact that troops are still fighting in Afghanistan and the soldiers back from Iraq may need to go to Afghanistan.
The troops coming home would rather have a job than a parade. Romney and Perry are full of alot of B.S. Let us never forget Romney and Perry didn’t want these troops coming.
I find the Iraq War to be a grotesque example of American excess, starting with poor national political leadership in the WH, continuing with a population looking for 9/11 revenge and willing to look past obvious WH lies to get that revenge, and ending with a national media which became “embedded” in that war and unfortunately enabled rather than challenged the lies which created it.
What is there to celebrate about that? I agree with you one thousand percent: honor our fine military by giving them and their families the support they deserve. I’m actually glad that there’s no parade or national spectacle about what is in my opinion a very shameful episode in US history.
Agree times a million!
There is no price tag for what these brave men and women gave up for the rest of us.
It sickens my stomach to what these gallant men and women gave up for the likes of the clowns. They put them there and will not do anything for them unless they are forced to do so.
I will be delighted to see President Obama hands them their hats when they try to attack him on his military prowess and achievements.
Perry can’t even read a statement discussing his opinions without getting it backwards. I heard him reading something tonight and he got it backwards. You know to be President, you DO have to be able to make complete sentences. (smirk)
um, while I do agree with you, that particular skill wasn’t apparent with G.W.
Dems, Obama more trusted on payroll tax
12/28/11 4:02 PM
Latest from Gallup: “Americans have more confidence in President Obama and the Democrats in Congress (41%) than in the Republicans (34%) when it comes to payroll tax cuts and unemployment benefits. Obama and the Democrats also earn better marks on the job they each did this year than Republicans.”
Luck be a lady tonite!
Never thought I’d see the day in which a Democratic POTUS took command of two signature GOP issues: taxes and foreign policy, without triangulating and/or coopting Republicans ideology-wise. Pretty spectacular accomplishment.
Here, here. The media ignores this feat at its peril. They are already calling victory for Mitt Romney over President Obama. How soon they forget how President Obama became “President Obama”. He went through the Clinton machine. Then he went through the racists in the GOP via McCain/Palin trainwreck. And he defied the media and all their nonsense over that “Bradley Effect” they kept touting, that would force white voters to pull the lever for a white candidate because of their deeply held racism, even if they really wanted to vote for President Obama. And they’ve ignored every victory this President has won against the entire machinery of the GOP and their media lackeys.
Well, 2012 will be another rude awakening for them. They are forgetting that there is an actual campaign that has to be fought before the voting starts. And Romney’s going to have to take a position – and defend it. He’s going to have to explain how endless war is good for this country. How killing social programs will be good for the people. And how lies make him credible. And he’ll have to do this in front of President Obama, who happens to be the sitting President of the United States, beloved around the world. I can’t wait.
I agree. And my hope is that the weakness at the top of the Republican ticket can benefit the downticket races. Romney is at an enormous disadvantage, as a politician who had to moderate his stances in order to govern a fairly liberal Northeastern state, then tacked hardcore right in what continues to be a less than successful gambit to excite GOP voters, and presumably will have to tack right back into the middle in order to appeal to swing voters who are generally appalled by Palin-styled politicking.
I see President Obama using this opportunity to continue to frame liberal ideas as common sense; part and parcel of his plan to be as transformative as Reagan. Tall order; exciting times.
This is exactly what Liberal Librarian has been espousing. It’s amazing isn’t it? 🙂 What smart Democrats realize and the PL, Emoprogs, Media, and some GOP don’t realize is that PBO has his eye on the long term. He is steadily dismantling GOP strongholds in a lot of arenas. In 2008, his team’s strategy of making sure they win as many delegates and electoral college votes as they could was brilliant because people underestimated him and thought that he couldn’t go into red or purplish GOP strongholds and pull the rug from the GOP. But he did; and he showed DEmocratic candidates that we can in fact systematically go into these GOP strongholds and pick up votes and seats. Policy wise, he also has his eye on the long term. Due to his extraordinary political chess playing, he has steadily destroyed the meme that Democrats are weak on foreign policy, tax issues, job creation, infrasturcture, looking out for the middlclass, etc. He’s laying the ground for 2016 and his eventual Democratic successor and a small sliver of GOP politicos realize this and are running around like headless chickens trying to sound the alarm. Unfortunately (Yay!), it’s not working. 🙂
Extremely well said. I keenly remember the days of Dem presidential frontrunners feeling politically forced to vote for the Iraq War because the Republican party had been successfully branded as strong on national security, regardless of the fact that this was marketing, not reality. To be at such a different place right now feels so good. I know that we have a ways to go with respect to justice both in this country and with regards to our foreign policy, without a doubt, but that progress is taking place is undeniable IMO.
It is and what’s even more spectacular is that our Progressive Betters (those oh so smart ones on TV and with magazine columns) don’t see it and don’t appreciate this fact.
IMO history will be incredibly kind to this POTUS, and he’s just getting started…
* … and he’s just getting started*
Gives you a thrill and a chill, doesn’t it? I can’t wait for 4 more for 44!
Me either. It’s fantastic to see.
If that’s the message Americans are receiving apparently the President and his administration do not have a messaging problem. May that meme rest in peace.
Please. 🙄 Not when you have the usual emoprogs complaining all the time about lack of spines, balls and/or other varios body parts. They can’t see the forest for the trees and never will
President Obama would beat two of his top GOP rivals among Hispanic voters in a hypothetical matchup, according to a new survey — a sign that the president has retained his support among a key demographic group that strongly supported him in 2008.
The poll, conducted by the Pew Hispanic Center, shows the president beating former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney 68 percent to 23 percent among registered Latino voters. Obama also handily defeats Texas Governor Rick Perry in a hypothetical match-up 69 to 23.
I heard a GOP pundit saying running Marco Rubio as VP would take care of the Hispanic vote. Guess that is their plan. I figure Gov Chris Christie is buttering up Romney by campaigning for him in exchange for the job of VP as he was heard saying he would consider being VP.
THE OBAMA’S CUTEST COUPLE MOMENTS OF 2011:
Hmmm…nice photos. Thanks JER!
Thanks JER. It was nice to look back at 2011 through the Obamas eyes. I gave myself a pat on the back; I’m so tuned in to this administration, that I recognized every event without needing to look at the write-up. Yay me! 😉
A Democratic operative in Iowa told me that she had been contacted no fewer than four times by Obama for America staffers trying to organize high turnout for the caucuses – yes, Obama is technically on the ballot, but it’s not exactly a make-or-break election day for Democrats.
Team Obama isn’t competing for turnout to rival the GOP field this time — or even match Obama’s own showing four years ago — but they would be happy to best the several thousand votes George W. Bush got there in 2004, campaign staffers say.
It turns out that Obama’s Chicago-based political operation views the caucuses as a serious organizing tool and dry run for next November — and sees the relative lack of GOP boots on the ground in Iowa as the basis for a they-don’t-care-about-Iowa campaign theme in the 2012 general election.
A new CNN/Time poll out this afternoon shows leads for Mitt Romney in both Iowa and New Hampshire — and a substantial drop in support for Newt Gingrich.
Romney gets 25 percent of the vote in Iowa, per the new poll. Ron Paul comes in second at 22 percent, Santorum comes up to third at 16 percent, and Gingrich’s support sinks to 14 percent.
Folks, the nomination could be over in just 2 weeks. What a sad sack of Republicans.
Excellent piece by rootless at thepeoplesview.
Summary: President Obama has been discussing themes of income inequality, fair taxation, student loan reform, regulatory reform, and many other similar topics for years now. Yet there have been some folks who insist that he turns a blind eye to income inequality, etc. Thus, when a major speech takes place, like the epic Osawatomie speech (given earlier this month–Dec. 6) in which President Obama hits upon all of these themes, they scramble to reconcile that reality with what they have been telling their readerships/viewers/etc. As an example of this phenomenon, one writer at The Nation, despite all historical record, thus made the claim that it took ows to “make” President Obama deliver that early December speech.
This is all to say thank you for the truthtellers in this community, tpv, POU, and many other places. Happy holidays to all from a lurker.
This article is from November 6, 2008:
Potential Obama Treasury Secretary: Income Inequality A Crisis
“According to former Clinton Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, the shift of income inequality over the last quarter century simply dwarfs the amount of money being discussed in partisan debates over wealth redistribution — and represents a serious crisis of legitimacy for society.
The former secretary’s frank evaluation of the effects of a generation-long transfer of wealth to the top one percent was notable in the political realm, since it came during a week in which Barack Obama’s discussion with “Joe the Plumber” gave the issue of wealth redistribution a higher profile. In the final presidential debate, John McCain repeatedly chided Obama for his casual remark to Joe about intending to “spread the wealth around.” But if Summers’s analysis is correct, the scope of any government redistribution that has been proposed will be nowhere near as impactful as the natural swing of fortunes to the rich over the course of the last 30 years.”
The mic checkers need to be fact checkers if they want to be taken seriously. The transfer of wealth to the top one percent has been on the President’s radar long before the Occupy movement and long before he decided to run for President.
When he was the same age as some of the occupiers, his conscience did lead him to a tent, it took him to Chicago where he organized communities and to record-breaking voter registration through Project Vote.
So if anything, the occupiers, who apparently slept through the Joe the Plumber redistribute the wealth discussion, Dodd-Frank financial reform and the 2010 midterms, are finally following the President’s lead, not the other way around.
I just find it irritating that the PL has chosen to frame ows as oppositional, or somehow “forcing” President Obama to do a thing. The reason that I find this problematic is because the nature of that protest seems more like marketing, advertising, and getting media attention as an end goal. That’s well and good, but it’s no substitute for tangible policies which change and help people’s lives, like ObamaCares: http://www.thepeoplesview.net/2011/12/2011-year-that-was-in-health-reform-has.html.
What it boils down to for me is that I think that in ows, the PL has finally found a way to admit that we’re making a lot of progress, without having to credit President Obama for it. Without trying to step on toes because I know that we all have different opinions about ows and I respect that, I agree with you about the need for people to keep it real and stop pretending that President Obama and his administration shied away from inequality themes when we have the historical record indicating that this has simply not been the case. Dishonest reporting doesn’t help the left at all IMO.
Should be “his conscience did not lead him to a tent….”
good find. good find.
Hey Ms Thing try to delurk some more. Your comments are always so refreshing and valuable.
The above comment was for GNGN.
Great to see you back here,gn 🙂
I have heard many PL pundits mention PBO’s lack of doing something or believing something until he suddenly sees the light according to them. I keep yelling at my radio or tv read Audacity of Hope. It’s in there. I always was surprised the pundits did not seem to know that as it was so easy to find that information or the video of speeches PBO had given even before becoming Prez. Then I decided it was on purpose to make the commentator feel more important and allow him to be more critical of this Prez.

Barack Obama Quote O’ The Day
The Republicans running for President have already tied themselves to the past. They speak of a hundred year war in Iraq and billions more on tax breaks for the wealthiest few who don’t need them and didn’t ask for them – tax breaks that mortgage our children’s future on a mountain of debt at a time when there are families who can’t pay their medical bills and students who can’t pay their tuition.
They are running on the politics of yesterday, and that is why our party must be the party of tomorrow. And that is the party I will lead as President.

Have a great evening, everyone! 😛
Thank you PJ. Always enjoy reading and taking in the Quote O’ The Day.HZ
Hi Madame HZ ♥ ♥ ♥
CNN should be banned from the airwaves in the USA. What a number they’re doing for the Repub candidates, allowing them to say anything and everything damaging about President Obama. Wolf is doing an interview with Santorum and allowing him to say how dangerous it would be for our national security to re-elect President Obama, that he’s a real threat to the U.S., that in a 2nd term he would run wild, cutting the military to levels which would put us in peril, that he would be as extreme as Ron Paul on international matters, but he would still vote for Paul over Obama because Obama will lead us off a cliff etc. etc. etc., as he shakes his head as if to shudder at the thought. And Wolf just sits there, other than to say, “You would really prefer Paul over President Obama?” The interview is still going on, Santorum is now saying “our founders would be spinning in their graves” etc.—–this is preposterous—-and Wolf still just sits there as if Santorum is making sense. No challenge, no push back, just a free for all Obama bash fest.
Just change the channel. You’ll save yourself some heartburn.
He asked Romney the same question! Unreal! Breaking news -yellow italics. Yuck!
I e-mailed him too….
I know him from my youth…we lived in the same neighborhood and went to school together.
I sincerely hope we are not going to start Chicken Littling over Willard on this esteemed blog. He ain’t worth the worry, and this empty suit will be the worse for wear once he gets out of the GOP primary, and then mopped up by PBO. The campaign will be robust, Willard will be vetted inside and out, and the choice will be plain. Period.
I get the sense that few here have a fear of Willard. It is going to be fun going after him.
Fear Romney Ha! Ha! Ha! I don’t think so. If Obama didn’t fear Bill and Hillary Clinton, then he does not fear Willard Mitt flip flopper liar Romney
I agree with you. I don’t care who the GOP pick for their candidate. POTUS was running on his record as a Senator three years ago. Next year he is running on his record of President and I think it’s a very fine record inspite of the economy. And the economy would be in much better shape if not for the Republicans sabotaging everything POTUS has tried to do for the last three years. This is the message we have to start getting out to our friends and family.
I can hardly wait for Romeny to run.
In CA we had Carly Fiorina run for Senate against Boxer. The Hewlett Packard employees she fired when she took over as CEO made very convincing ad – see below
DNC will make the same argument for Romney.
Regardless of the media whores (who despite all the hand-wringing and venting, haven’t changed a damn thing), poo-slinging by the teaparty camps, lying by Willard and his surrogates, etc., etc., etc., PBO will roll. Soooooo looking forward to 2012 .
Bring him on. Pleeeeeeeeeeesssse!
We are not in fear of Willard, it’s the biased media I fear.
I don’t fear the media either 🙄 . No anxiety here — PBO has prevailed despite the media. It’s all good 😀 .
2010 elections, where 3 billion dollars were pumped into that election.
That is not all good.
That said, I think he will win re election, just not as easy as you or anybody here thinks.
This will not be a cakewalk. Do not get complacent!
That is all!
JOVIE…YOU ALWAYS SEEM TO SEE THE GLASS HALF EMPTY…STOP PLEASE!!!!! WITH DOOM AND GLOOM…I THINK ALL OF US ARE READY TO FIGHT ALONG SIDE WITH THIS PRESIDENT…WE WILL NOT BE STOPPED BY THE NEGATIVE NOISE!!!!!
PJ, I’m with you. I don’t fear the media or that lying flip flopper Mitt. And I can bet you ten thousand dollars neither is President Obama.
To the side, down low- to slow!
I don’t think anyone is “chicken littling” over Willard; PJ. If you’ve read peoples comments about Willard, you’ll see that the majority of us actually welcome him as the GOP clown nominee because PBO would destroy him in any head to head match up. As a collective whole, we’re not worried about Willard; that’s just a wrong meme.
Best Ground Game in Iowa? Obama for America!
Posted on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, 12:00 pm by Paddy
DES MOINES, Iowa – One presidential campaign claims an impressive effort in Iowa this year: eight offices opened, 350,000 phone calls to potential supporters and 1,280 events to recruit and train volunteers. It’s not Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich or Ron Paul. It’s Obama for America, the president’s re-election campaign, which badly wants to win this battleground state in November, as it did in 2008.
In a tortoise-versus-hare strategy, Obama supporters hope their steady chugging will build support precinct by precinct, town by town, while Republicans spend resources chasing the nomination for a few more weeks or months. The Republican candidates and their broadcast ads are flooding Iowa this week, but they will abruptly shift to New Hampshire on Jan. 4, the day after the caucuses. “The Republicans are here today, gone tomorrow,” said Obama volunteer Pat Walters, of Johnston, a suburb of Des Moines. “We’ve been doing this since 2009.”
*high five* 😛
At a girl!
Ann Romney is telling Blitz how funny Willard is. Can’t wait to see more of his antics.
And they know how to play CNN, who is only hoping to take some of fox ratings. Meh!
LOL—–he’s just a riot, isn’t he? So hilarious! Remember that time when he strapped his dog on the top of the car for the 12 hour trip? Hysterical!!! Hahahahaha! Remember when he slashed all those jobs and shut down all those companies so he could make more money? What a blast!!! hahahahahahaha! Remember when he said he could relate to the jobless because he was out of work too? That was really funny!!! Hahahahahaha! He’s a real comedian, alright. A real clown!!!
Next thing you know Ann Romney and Mitt will be having an interview with Barbara Walters, and Ann will be talking about how she tease Mitt about his ears, his dancing, his singing. She will be talking about her dog Bo. Trying to be like President Obama and First Lady Michelle, but they don’t even come close.
Willard did bring down the house when he pretended the waitress in a diner pinched him on the butt. Maybe Barbara could pinch Willard and then ask him about Seamus, his former dog on the roof of the station wagon.
LOL again!—“brought down the house”—-about the butt pinching!!! omg—-what a fun and clever prankster! A real jokester! He will be able to join Specter on the comedy club circuit next year!
ROFLMAO! Dotster you are hillarious! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Except we’ll be laughing AT him, not with…
I am a Strong Woman for Obama :: OFA South Carolina
This is why we win
Yesterday many folks read Donna’s posting about 2011 resolutions. I was very impressed with her message.
So…. as the “pesty one” in the group, I wanted to post it again, and again, and again……
Feeling stressed about Romney or the media – all of Donna’s suggestions are guaranteed stress relievers.
Just a few words as the New Year approaches…
We are on the brink of an election cycle unlike any we have ever seen before. PBO will be attacked with outrageous ads from both the Romney camp and out side agencies. We will have to put up our body armor to deflect the vicious distractions that the Repubs will constantly spin. Our wonderful blogger “What is Working” always reminds us that we cannot control what the media will do but we can control how we react to them. These are wise words. So with that said I would like to share some ideas I have been thinking of as “Election Year Resolutions” that we as a community might want to pursue.
1) We have talked about this but have never really formalized the ideas but it would be great to form a media team that pushes back on the negative spin (twitter, emails, phone calls) but it must be coordinated and in great numbers. We would have to have someone take the lead on this. I have been reading comments both here and on twitter over the last month to get a gauge on our viewers and there is a whole crew of supporters who watch every cable show that comes on throughout the day. I believe we can make that work to our benefit. Just as a FYI – President Obama has 11.6 Million twitter followers and 24 Million Facebook followers.
2) Each one teach one ongoing campaign. Every month until Election Day we each commit to engaging someone on the fence or on the other side politically to share successes of the Obama administration and share your story (good or bad) with the blog community as teachable moments for us all.
3) Step out side of your comfort zone. Try and do something for the campaign this election cycle that you have never done before. (Lurkers this is especially for you) One of the things that impressed me the most during my experience in my quest to win the fundraising challenge was the overwhelming number of “lurkers” who contacted me via email after I thanked them for their many donations. There is a huge ‘silent’ majority who support this President and follow this blog everyday. What you have to share is paramount to the success of this re-election campaign. Please don’t discount what contribution you can make to this blog. Share your stories and join us with our online efforts and conversations to ensure the Presidents re-election. We need ALL hands on deck this election cycle.
4) I believe that this blog community can raise a ton of money for this election. Your five dollar donations one donation at a time can help Chips and little ole me to raise tens of thousands of dollars by November 2012. It’s a tall order but as a wise articulate Senator once said: “nothing can stop the millions of voices calling for change”. Yes We Can
5) Believe it or not every one of us knows someone who is not registered to vote. It could be a recent high school graduate, a college student or an older relative or friend that just never registered. Help them register online to vote in their state. Its easy and so rewarding. Once you get them registered commit to be their “god-voter-parent” that ensures on Election Day that they actually get to the polls and vote for Obama/Biden.
6) Last but not least is to commit to volunteer in some way large or small (every effort is important) with OFA. I think that this is going to be the key to our success in 2012. It’s going unnoticed by the media (I’m actually quite pleased about that). The Republican Party has nothing to compare with our grassroots organization. They may have conservative talk radio and Fox news which is in effect their grassroots but a few million volunteers on the ground and online doing everything possible to get people to the polls for this President next year is our secret weapon.
Please think about participating in some of these Election Year Resolutions for 2012. We are a powerful force when we set our minds and actions to it.
Building on Donna’s #4 resolution, I have an idea.
It seems that Chips is away for a day or 2. What if we all donated to her page while she was gone, and when she came back she had met her 10K goal. Wouldn’t that be a cool surprise.
She is currently at 8,365. We are about 1,700 short. If 170 people donated $10 we are there. What a wonderful way to thank Chips for all she has done over the past year.
So…. if you have any $$ left after holiday shopping, send it her way.
Good idea WIW! I will make a donation.
I am with you WIW, I get paid Friday so tomorrow is my Donation Day. I will have my one-on-one in January with OFA to commit myself and everyone I come into contact with, family and friends to support the best president the USA has had in a very long time.
PRESS ON! OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!
Great idea, WIW! I am in for $20 on Friday.
Turns out Anothony Weiner engages in orgies with other men, while cheating on his wife.
This from a wacko who once said President Obama doesn’t do “values”.
Well, Anthony, the President doesn’t do other guys and cheat on his wife.
Goodness. Is this story source trustworthy? It seems way out there for Weiner. But what do I know.
She has the text messages Weiner sent her asking her to bring a guy into their bed.
I don’t know if this is true or not, but I wouldn’t be surprised!
8.5 million people watched last night’s Kennedy Center Honors.
It was a great evening!
I was one of the 8.5M that THOROUGHLY enjoyed the Honors, the artists, and the First Couple — it was all gorgeous .
I have always watch the Kennedy Center Honors. It’s always a great show. Just wonderful!!
I was one of the 8.5M…I too “THOROUGHLY enjoyed the Honors, the artists, and the First Couple”. I don’t always watch…but any and everything that as to do with the First Couple, I will watch 🙂 🙂
Something tells me that the first couple’s presence influenced other viewers as well 🙂
THIS GIRL IS NOT STRESSED OVER PBO’S RE-ELECTION…HE WILL ALWAYS BE A WINNER! HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL HERE!
Oh no—Rev. Al is having Ed Rendell on—-again. I’ve seen enough of Rendell lately to last me all of my days.
Seems like he has been on MSNBC all day. He must be collecting a really big paycheck.
Rendell’s wife kicked him out when he finished his term. He has nothing else to do.
Well… that is interesting…..I remember when the DC Madame claimed she was going to expose a North East Governor as one of her clients and that the wife was a high level professional too. Hmmmm.
Wonder if Rendell wore diapers like David Vitter did?
I really wish he would take up knitting. Or making birdhouses or something. “roll:
Here’s a list of appropriate hobbies for idle Rendell to fill up his time. More time engaged in these activities means less time running his empty fly trap on the tv machine.
2. Stamp collecting
3. Snow shovelling
6. Lemonade stand
7. Dog walking
9. Car washing
10. Leaf raking
Don’t forget “carrying water for the Clintons.”
Oh most definitely yes!
Donald Trump tweet-
What a convenient mistake: @BarackObama issued a statement for Kwanza but failed to issue one for Christmas.
What is trump talking about?
Who cares? He’s an idiot who always gets it wrong. But if it bothers you, reply to his tweet and send him the President and First Lady Christmas message video. What a douche.
I did it. Trump is such as ass. He’s strangely obsessed with President Obama. Weird.
He got real mad when PBO turned down his offer to build a Trump Tower addition to the WH—-something real shiny and goldy and glittery and gaudy with a BIG T on top. He was really incensed about the rebuff—–decided Obama had no good taste :)—–and started questioning his birth certificate. He’s been throwing a tantrum ever since—he’s got the maturity of a 2 year old—–and that’s being generous.
I guess Trump is not on the Christmas Card List….His true supporters receives Christmas greeting from the President not his enemies!
It’s the usual, Jovie, namely search high and low for something to be “outraged” about regarding the POTUS. Same soup, different day…NEXT!~
Conservatives Furious That Obama, Like Bush, Issued Kwanzaa Message
By Jon Perr| December 27, 2011 02:00 PM
As he did in 2009 and 2010, Andrew Malcolm made sure his readers knew that President Obama and the First Lady issued an official White House statement marking Kwanzaa. Tammy Bruce quickly retweeted a message declaring, “Obama celebrates Kwanzaa…Idiots,” adding, “Oh freaking brother.”
Had they simply followed Dubya’s practice of “clicking around” the “Internets,” they would have discovered that President Bush issued official Kwanzaa statements in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Trump: Blah blah blah — that’s what he is talking about. He’s searching for relevance.
LOL I tweeted him earlier but I think he’s blocked me cuz I can’t reply to him again.
Thin skinned asshole.
Donald trump is a jack ass with money.
That is soooooo accurate, anniebella!!! LOLOLOL!!!
As soon as Romney wins NH or the Iowa caucus, he’s gonna take a trip to a warm clime, just like our President is doing. On the first day of vacation he will go to church with wife and grown up offspring, then later in the afternoon change into his flip-flops (no pun intended) and beach wear and stroll down the sandy walkway with his adult daughters to create an Obama-esque effect. Then, as anniebella indicated above, he’s gonna do an interviewer with babawawa and talk about his dog Bo, and how Bo is attached to his wife Ann. Then after that he’s going to pen a book titled: “Sweet Land of Liberty: A Meditative Verse to my Daughters.”
The Romney family was in Hawaii last Christmas when the Obama’s were there. But this year he was saying that the Obama’s should not go.
He has a house on beautiful La Jolla beach and goes to Hawaii. Things are tough.
He feels our pain.
hopefruit2, Mitt sure does feel our pain, the same way he felt the pain of those people who lost their jobs after Mitt and his rich buddies from Bane brought the companies and sent the jobs overseas, or fired the workers. All the while good old Mitt was getting richer.
LOL.LOL.LOL.LOL…..BARACK OBAMA WANNA BE….WHICH HE WILL NEVER BE!!!!!
I hope Romney does not win the Iowa caucus. I will say it again. I absolutely despise Romney. Liars and flipfloppers are petpeeves pf mine. He is trying to imitate everything PBO does. I saw a photo of him holding a baby with his fake specially made jeans and a shirt like PBO. The jeans are not fake but they look fake on him. 🙂
Ha! I even forgot the baby-holding activity (along with the PBO jeans and shirt outfit). Thanks for reminding me.
COS – I’d like to see home-schooler Rick Santorum win Iowa, just for kicks. Or maybe Donald Duck (same qualifications; same reason).
😆 I was going to say something very naughty, but I won’t. But yes — Willard is a follower, a pretender, a spineless jellyfish of a man. 😆
His bread isn’t done.
hopefruit2 – oh, that certainly was my biggest laugh tonight! 🙂
DODGE THIS, Ron Paul!~
Stormfront founder: Ron Paul’s views ‘coincide with ours’ on most issues
By Eric W. Dolan| Wednesday, December 28, 2011
Texas Rep. Ron Paul (R) received an unwanted endorsement on Tuesday when Don Black, the founder of the white nationalist group Stormfront, told The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur that he supported Paul’s presidential candidacy. “He’s clearly not a white nationalist, he does not have the same worldview we do,” Black told Cenk. “But we agree with his stand on the issues, which we believe are heartfelt, coincide with ours. I might prefer that he understand the racial issues that we deal with a little more than he does.”
My apologies…this computer is clowning! Here’s the link:
POLL: HISPANIC VOTERS FAVOR OBAMA OVER ROMNEY BY NEARLY 3:1 MARGIN | Months of extreme anti-immigrant rhetoric from Mitt Romney and his GOP rivals seems to be taking its toll, with Hispanic voters going to President Obama in a landslide according to a new Pew Hispanic Center poll released today. Despite overwhelming disapproval of his administration’s handling of illegal immigrants, President Obama still leads Mitt Romney 68 percent to 23 percent among Hispanics. Romney recently told TIME Magazine that he wants “to do as well as [he] possibly could” among Hispanic voters; however, today’s poll shows Romney is highly unlikely to reach the record 40 percent share of the Hispanic vote George W. Bush attracted in 2004 and that he may well do far worse than the 31 percent share John McCain took in 2008.
I heard Ms. Kumar on Rev Al’s show just say, that ANY Republican CAN NOT WIN POTUS without 40% of the vote. Won’t happen. For ANY of them!
sorry…40% of Latino vote
That is how GW won in 2004!
won’t happen this time around
I agree. With all those anti immigrant bills. A long way from GW amnesty bill!
Which is why Romney will choose NM Governor Susana Martinez as his running mate.
Maybe not. She has been tough on illegal immigrants herself!
Yes she has….and a question as to the legality of her grandparents.
And the fact she was JUST elected on 2010….ANOTHER SP?
I think this would be the main reason why she’d turn it down. She’d be much stronger as a VP candidate in 2016 after serving her first term as Gov. She was an accomplished DA specializing in corruption and crimes against kids and her Husband is a 30 yr sheriff. The issue with her grandparents has been solved and they were legal.
That’s going to pose some problems…seems she is just another Koch Wh***
On word that the US Department of Justice has indicted two men working for the Iranian government on charges that they attempted to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador and possibly injure hundreds of innocent Americans in a terrorist attack on American soil, New Mexicans are renewing last week’s call for Governor Susana Martinez, Congressman Steve Pierce and the New Mexico Republican party to return tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions received from corrupt business interests who are reported to have benefited from illegal oil and equipment sales to the terrorist-sponsoring state.
In the story first published here on the Democracy for New Mexico blog last week, the New Mexico GOP and its candidates were big beneficiaries of Koch Industries donations in their 2010 campaigns. Together, they accepted $25,000 in donations from Koch Industries and KOCHPAC to fund races for governor, congress and state races across the state. Governor Martinez even used money from that same account to launch her SusanaPAC political action committee to continue her campaign efforts in 2011 and beyond.
A Bloomberg report recently called into question the legality of Koch profits which benefited the GOP. Koch is alleged to have skirted US embargoes to illegally sell oil equipment to Iran in violation of US law.
Responsible New Mexicans are continuing to call on Martinez and the GOP to return the contributions or donate them to causes working to advance New Mexican issues. To date, no response has been received.
Maybe Johnson will name her as his running mate? 2 new mexico candidates. Lol!
I just don’t think VPs help as much as we think. I think, like with Palin, they can end up doing more damage. I can’t see a sizable number of Latinos changing their voting preference, because, when all is said and done, the main candidate will be Mitt “for Pete’s sake I’m running for office, we can’t have illegals working for us” Romney. He is a turn off to anyone who cares about immigration reform and doing it in a fair and humane way.
Hope this pic shows up 🙂
I agree with this article.
Team Gingrich Resets In Iowa: We Can Survive 5th Place Finish
On Wednesday evening around 6:30 ET, Newt Gingrich strategist Joe DeSantis declared the Gingrich surge in Iowa officially over. “Oh I think anywhere in the top five would be surviving Iowa,”
And the Romney PAC spent 3/4 of a millOn on negative ads, against Mittens.
The place is saturated with negative ads against Gingrich.
Then why this?
Gingrich To Spend $500,000 On Ads In Iowa This Week
Newt Gingrich has released the second of two ads he is running in Iowa this week, reports the Washington Post. Together, the campaign will spend $500,000 on the ads in the final week before the caucuses, a huge bump from what it has previously spent in the state. In the newest ad, “Main Street,” Newt lays out how he will jumpstart the economy and touts the endorsement of Arthur Laffer, architect of Reagan’s economic policy.
The link has the ad.
Sounds like downplaying expectations while also giving it his all to win.
He’s trying to buy time is all. Iowa was never a good state for him, either was NH. But he looks to make his move with the southern states and will look to go strong in SC and Florida. If he can make it to February and it’s down to Mitt, Paul and Newt, than Newt can make his move with the southern states.
Ed is interviewing Ron Paul.
You let us know…so WE don’t have to watch 🙂
Just spotted Dick Halperin on Ed’s show – he was in Ron Paul’s Iowa crowd, with a camera. Probably “covering” it, “objectively.”
So, he can show tge tape to Romney, so Romney advisers can pick it apart.
He is scouting!
These people are beyond stupid, JUST BEYOND.
Rick Perry in Iowa: “Every barrel of oil that comes out of those sands in Canada is a barrel of oil that we don’t have to buy from a foreign source.”
I saw that. All I could do was shake my head. The stupid HURTS!
And people applauded him, I am really, really just ignorance and so proud of it. smh
*** deleted ***
Ron Paul-supporting dick
If someone is stupid enough to even expend an ounce of energy attending a Perry stump speech, they will applaud him even if he said I just kicked your cat!
why should we be surprised? These are the same people that cheered killing people by electrocution and bashing a gay soldier. The bottom of the barrel of humanity.
Maybe they just think Canada is one of our states. lol
Bachman’s co- chair just quit and went to work for Paul…..omygawd, what a mess
Sorry, it was on Rachel a few mins. ago.
How many has she lost now? Real loyalty they have there!
And Perry, in his infinite wisdom, brings in that kindly gent, Sheriff Arpaio, to campaign for him in Iowa, who immediately said something about how great it was to be in the “Buckeye state”. When those in attendance went “noooooooo”, someone had to whisper to him that Iowa was the Hawkeye state, and Arpaio said “Hawkeye/Buckeye, what’s the difference?” Ay. Quite a pairing—-Perry and his Sheriff Besty.
Deputy don knots!
I definitely don’t fear Romney, but I’m definitely not feeling the amount of money he’s going to have from outside supporters that will throw a lot of dirt at our president and other Democrats. Our side cannot amass the same amount of outside cash as the Republicans. They have the big money supporters to do all of that. So, while I don’t fear Romney – one bit – I’m concerned about the outside money and support he’ll have. Newt is a hot mess, but to see how well the negative ads and media attention killed him – and how quickly it happened – is alarming. Our president is nothing like Newt, so there will not be much ammo for these outside groups. Still, the Republicans will lie if they have to.
We cannot rest and assume that the American people “get it” and understand what a joke Mitt is. So, I say we continue to monitor what’s going on, that we acknowledge that the media is in the tank for Romney mainly because they want a close election to cover, and that outside money is going to be serious. It truly did hurt us in key races in the midterms.
Good assessment. And one thing we can’t forget and need to emphasize is that, in addition to the fact that money cannot buy PBO’s clean and honorable record for the lying liars, money also does not equal votes.
Our job remains to GOTV (unlike at the midterms when Dems were told to stay home to teach PBO a lesson or because they couldn’t get over being PUMAs or because the sun wasn’t shining that day or whatever).
I completely agree about GOTV. And along with PUMAS and PL whining, a big problem in the midterms was also flaky indies who either didn’t vote, or switched to the dark side. We need PLs to start being more positive so that these indies aren’t turned off from the process and just stay home. I feel pretty confident that the PLs and emoprogs, for the most part, will end up voting for the president despite their bitching and moaning. I’m less confident that the new voters (who just aren’t used to being involved) and indies (who sway back and forth) will end up voting UNLESS we bug them and convince them to vote.
Yes! You are very sage!
As usual Vero, you say things a lot more artfully than I can.
Maybe I should hire you. Lol!
You can be alarmist, but I don’t doubt your support for the president. I do think you should monitor your MSM intake…for your mental health. 😉
In 2010 Meg Whitman outspent Jerry Brown 3 to 1 from her personal fortune and she lost. She lost because she lied, she lost because she was out of touch with CA voters, and she lost because she alienated the Hispanic vote. I don’t think PBO is in danger of this happening despite the money. Sometimes too much money can have a boomerang effect.
Here’s the thing. It’s not just PBO we have to worry about. He’ll be fine. It’s about the Senate. It’s about Montana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Virginia. We have to hold/pick up those seats. And outside money WILL be a factor. The PL has to stop whining and realize the stakes. Their cheering over Ben Nelson was sickening. Nelson is form NEBRAKSA but still voted with Dems 82% of the time. Now we lost him.
CA was not a swing state. And just witness Newt and his fall because of the deluge of negative ads. Negative ads are made for only one reason. They WORK! It’s why Romney leaves it to his SuperPAC because he’s too chicken to stand behind his own. Romney is going to avoid the MSM as much as he can, going on without granting interviews, etc. We have to be ready to pressure him to answering tough questions.
Romney probably donates to his own super PAC!
Garbage from @thenation quickly disposed:
@thenation does emoprog ‘journalism’ – http://t.co/DYOSYYBs – and gets caught, easily. #1936ForObamaBiden #OccupyTheVote
As to Iowa, it may well be that the scale of damage that McCain did to the GOP in 2008 is about to manifest itself:
Palin’s IA ‘earthquake’ – http://t.co/8XldSQVe – ‘Maverick’ McCain’s irreparable seismic destruction of the GOP may be the story on 4Jan2012
The Teabaggers can’t stand Willard. With Newt’s book tour hitting a speed bump in IA and Perry/Cain/Bachmann history, it’s likely that Willard will beat Paul and Santorum. But, if grifter Palin catalyzes a teabagger ‘rogue vote’ success we’re likely to see the GOP fracture, seismically. And, the country club set will have the Maverick to blame for fracking the base with Palin in 2008.
I cant wait for PBO to give speeches drawing 50, 60K screaming people. Each one will buy an article, give up their info (email, phone, etc), make a donation, contact a neighbor, etc, and we will be off to the races! The media does not have to report it! The lines will say it all. I hope they do the audience participation part again where the audience is calling someone they know while waiting for the candidate.
He has done tooooooo much for America, he has calmed the world down, made friends with China, S. Korea, Germany and even Russia (Putin may be a small problem)! The world is waiting to exhale, holding their breath until he is re-elected!
I cannot wait! The second time is sweeter.
HONOLULU — President Obama is playing golf Wednesday at Ko’olau Golf Club in Kaneohe.
It’s his third day of golf since arriving here late Friday. He played the other two rounds at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
Elizabeth Warren is coming for that ass oh YES, SHE IS!!!! 😆 😆
LOL…talk about desperation. He’s “the most” bipartisan Senator in the Republican party. A “moderate” thinker. In a tea party Republican party, that doesn’t say much…
Brown’s major problem is that Pres. Obama will win the state by 15-20 points meaning that many people need to split their ballot to vote for Pres Obama and then vote for Scott Brown. He can claim to be a moderate all he likes, he ran with the tea party to get elected (now swearing off outside monies) and came in saying as the 60th vote he’d block the Obama agenda.
Warren should push back saying Brown is only a moderate when his vote doesn’t matter – otherwise he’s party line Republican. That he was among the 60 votes for the financial reform bill, but only after he had portions stripped out to directly benefit his bankster buddies.
Why was he asking David Koch for money and help in that secret recording?
Brown is so full of shit. So now he’s a moderate. Where was this ” moderation” the last two fucking years????
I hope Warren beats this asshole. He’s such a poser
There’s a guy named Rob Cornilles here in Oregon running for a House seat that was vacated by a Dem. My sister-in-law was ready to vote for him calling him an Independent. When I was seeing his signs and ads on tv they never put on his party just like Scott Brown when he was running in MA for Senate. I finally saw a Dem ad against him using his own words describing himself as a tea party member. I was able to persuade my sister-in-law that she should not vote for him and told her the name of the Dem woman she should vote for. and before she left she agreed with me. Yay!!
BREAKING (from Ed Schultz, MSNBC): Michelle Bachman’s campaign co-chair has just endorsed Ron Paul!
I’m making a batch of popcorn for all of the TOD family!
hopefruit2. STOP PLAYING!!
No joke isonprize…go to the corner store and pick up some organic butter to go with that popcorn!
This is like a bad accident. You know it’s bad, you know it’s ugly, and you really don’t need to look. But you just have to!! Wow.
Actually, that’s not a good analogy. Because we are all the type folks that would want to help at an accident, call 911 or at least feel bad for the situation. \
But this? THIS? THIS RIGHT HERE??? This Rethuglican Teahadist mess is is entertainment!! 😀 😀
ROFLMAO. My son thinks I’m nuts.
Girl, I was just going to post that. That is some scandalous stuff right there. A CO-CHAIR…not some random staffer. No loyalty on the Republican side.
I was just reading about this on twitter. 😉
Read this – http://t.co/SG41JWmW
Whether it’s Paul or Palin or Paul+Palin, the GOP is fracked thanks to McCain. Willard may be the Republican candidate but he won’t be the Tea Party candidate and it’s just a matter of days/weeks before the seismic sheering of the GOP is manifest.
Whenever I go to the movies, I must have Twizzlers. I know they are bad for me, No nutritive value at all, but I MUST HAVE MY TWIZZLERS. I guess I’m going to the candy store!!! 😆 😆
I’m a DOTS kind of girl 🙂 Or Hot tamales!!!
Absolutely. It’s like he was warned not to rub the genie’s bottle…and he did so anyway in hopes he could get his wish to become prez. And instead, he just unleashed pure madness in our political system.

Yep. The dude went deep with the fracking drill – Palin – and you betcha she means 10.3 scale earthquake on the trad GOP is her objective.
Go slowly on the popcorn folk, you’ve got an epic unfolding, real time, on your screen ….
Only when Sarah Palin was VP candidate she was the only crazy while now there are so many crazies! Kinda like the movie where the aliens just keep mulitplying. There is no killing them. Maybe they will all just turn on each other and do it themselves.

Slowly count to 5 while breathing in. SLowly count to 5 while breathing out!.
The words “hot mess” are an understatement for this TOP clown show! What idiots!!!
Hold the butter please. What a gawd awful mess. Love it.
Very likely to try and prevent Romney from winning Iowa. Romney wins Iowa and in all liklihood he wins the nomination before Feb 1st.
http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/2011/12/28/video-scott-brown-is-ready-to-drop-the-gloves-against-elizabeth-warren/ Here is another on. Mr. Brown clawing for air!
Gosh…thinking about Romney’s job at Bain – where he took companies over, cut them up, fired people and then sold the company for profit (makes me think of Richard Gere’s character in Pretty Woman) – he really wants to do the same to our COUNTRY. That’s just wild. Cut the government – a little bit here, a lot over there, and then sell us off, piece by piece, to the highest bidder…domestic or foreign. I could totally see him doing deals with China and Brazil and India, giving them major parts of our country for a price.
ABSOLUTELY! I always compared him to that Richard Gere character as well…..we should EXPLAIN it to people JUST LIKE THAT! Everyone has seen Pretty Woman!
Wow…where did you find all of this info?
Quite frankly, from a pure superficial perspective, he comes across weird and unhinged. He’s shaky, old, and looks agitated every time I see him. Not sure how people can overlook his odd disposition.
Wonder if he ever wrote any bills that passed muster?
Your request …
McGarrysGhost Leo Thomas McGarry
Ron Paul’s lifetime legislative record in Congress: 620 bills sponsored, 4 bills voted on, 1 signed into law. That’s a 99.84% failure rate.
Total FAIL, but that’s not stopping @MMFlint and other GOP emoprogs from lovn the dude …
Willard does have a problem and it’s likely to become obvious to everyone how big a problem Paul (and Palin) are sometime during the night of 3 Jan 2012.
Thank you, Bob! 99.84% failure rate! WOW…..still a loser after all this time!
That same month, he was one of two members to vote against suspending a rule and adopting a bill that would require group health plans to ensure that inpatient coverage and radiation therapy were provided for breast cancer treatment.
Again, I ask, even setting his racist, sexist, homophobic crazzzzzzy ass ideas aside (and that is a GIHUGIC set-aside!!), how is it that this man is a physician? A medical doctor, really, REALLY????
I shake my head and ask myself that very question every time I read about him! How IS this selfish, cruel, batshit crazy, A DOCTOR?
Honestly…you’d be surprised how many doctors have quirky thoughts and ideas…
Unfortunately, I know that all too well, but DAMN, this guy is especially hateful.
Yes, but they don’t sit in Congress trying to form our country!
Earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Duke University’s School of Medicine in 1961, trained in ob- gyn. Believe it or not. He keeps talking about how his “medical training” gives him a special understanding of certain things, mostly not at all connected to medicine.
I thought Ron Paul was known as Dr No as he votes no on essentially everything. i wish more people actually knew he is against Social Security, Medicare and all social government programs. I worry the young people will just go for him as they seem enamored with him. I think Ron Paul’s convictions need to be known in their entirety. Thanks for listing the ones you have listed. He is now ducking legitimate journalists since the CNN reporter asked him about his past racist ties to a newsletter he published.
Is President Obama a Centrist Republican?

Glenn Greenwald thinks so, and his primary evidence is that Paul Krugman thinks so.
He also off-handedly dismissed the president’s progressive record on such meaningless issues as abortion, the Supreme Court, civil rights, the rescuing of the national economy from the brink of another Great Depression with the stimulus package, and Wall Street reform (he printed “reform” in quotes). Feh. Civil rights. Whatevs.
Greenwald entirely neglected to damn with snarky faint praise the president’s “expansion” of children’s healthcare, the federal funding of “embryonic” stem cell research, “equal pay” for equal work, the expansion of healthcare benefits for “women”, increased infrastructure spending, tougher new emissions standards, new hate “crime” laws, and the president’s numerous declarations ending trickle down, deregulatory Reaganomics, etc, etc. [Quotations sarcastic.] All during an era of impossibly divided government and ideological entrenchment.
And if you parse Greenwald’s criticisms, you’ll find they’re not entirely consistent with reality. For example, if a government worker or soldier with security clearance leaks classified information and violates the National Security Act, he or she has broken the law and ought to be prosecuted, “whistleblower” or not. You know, like when the Bush administration outed Valerie Plame.
While I’m here, what exactly is, as Greenwald wrote, a “due-process-free assassination”? If there was a trial and a conviction, would an assassination still be in order? And would Greenwald support that?
The whole thing about objections to the al-Alwiki (spelling) assassination that I find annoying is that if the president decided to have a “trial” where the defendant wasn’t present, folks like Greenwald would freak out that it’s improper, that al-Whatever didn’t have a chance defend himself, and so forth.
There was no practical way to deal with him. Al-Whatever was an enemy, he swore his allegiance to al-Qaeda, and worked to kill Americans. He was not willing to ever submit himself to US authorities in order to answer charges against him. So, he chose his fate. He was going to “fight” either from a cave or by using people to kill themselves for his cause. So, choosing that tactic, his assassination was called for IMO.
Why do people listen to this guy? He is an idiot. End of Story.
Because, libertarians don’t care about the other issues that Cescs mentions.
Where liberals and libertarians interconnect is legalizing pot and getting out of Afghanistan.
And that is where the confusion starts for democrats.
You see, some liberals and mostly all libertarians are not democrats.
I think Ron Paul could pull both from the GOP and the Dems especially if he ran as an Independent. My brother is a Ron Paul supporter so I am probably over thinking and overly worried in this area.
Seems as though Bachman’s Iowa Campaign Chairman jumped ship and joined the Ron Paul campaign this evening after appearing with Bachman earlier today. Not to be undone, but Rick Perry was out on the campaign trail quoting scripture. A hard rain is coming, folks.
LOL…Rachel played the Perry video of him quoting scripture. When all else fails, right? Turn to the Bible. He’s such a fraud.
Pass the blueberry pie!
It’s almost as if Chips had a premonition!
Maybe Chips can shake hands with Romney to see what the future holds for Romney.
Willard’s problem is that what many of us abhor in Ron Paul are the characteristics #Teabaggers adore. Mix in some Palin & Willard is toast.
Will President Obama make recess appointments before the second session of the 112th Congress begins? He hinted at it three weeks ago, but there’s been nothing since. Granted, we’re hearing more about turtles these days than about anything else, although vacation didn’t prevent the nomination of two people to serve on the Fed, so there’s at least some related progress.
Still, this is an extremely important story, and it’s worth a reminder of what’s going on, what’s at stake, and what the president’s options are right now.
What’s going on: unprecedented obstruction of executive-branch nominations by Republicans, who, you will recall, are in the minority in the Senate. I’m not going to drag you through all the details again, but basically they are filibustering every nomination by insisting on 60 votes, and successfully blocking many, including blanket refusals to confirm anyone at all in some cases. On top of that, they are attempting (successfully so far) to block the Senate from taking a normal recess in order to prevent Obama from making recess appointments.
I think so too, but he better make a slew of judicial appointments because the GOP will likely lock that up, after the fact!
you can’t make recess appointment to the judiciary.
Seriously? VA state GOP will make ALL voters sign a Loyalty Pledge that they will vote for whoever the GOP nominee is! IS THAT LEGAL???
The state Republican Party will require voters to sign a loyalty oath in order to participate in the March 6 presidential primary.
Anyone who wants to vote must sign a form at the polling place pledging to support the eventual Republican nominee for president. Anyone who refuses to sign the pledge will be barred from voting.
WTF? IS this even legal?
I wouldn’t think so…but this is disturbing to me just the same. Who can I send this to?
The fact that it is in the Times Dispatch means it is “out there.” We’ll see what, if anything, can be done by the powers that be in the VA Republican system.
Is it the “Washington Times” of VA?
Nope…it’s pretty much our main newspaper in Richmond.
“Out there” like how?
Oh dear…this sure reeks of desperation and it may not be legal. What next – bribing them with cash to vote?
It’s only the GOP. And I am not sure turnout will be that great with only two people on the ballot!
That is absolutely bizarre. Do they beat them up if they don’t vote for the pub in the general election?
Well, you have have to ask who they’d even KNOW who you voted for! Last time I checked, it was done in private.
Legal or not, if you have a candidate who is worth voting for, then you don’t need people to sign a pledge. Desperate much?
What is it about these Republicans and loyalty oaths? And they have the audacity to claim that they are the champions of freedom and individual rights.
Thanks Rachel, thanks for having some dem on your show pumping up Ron Paul’s platform on wars and drugs. I guess Paul is an interesting guy, once you get past his racist views.
My favorite part of the interview is Rachel talking about his political background…he’s run a bunch of times for various seats and seems to have lost the majority of his bids.
Not sure I care what a political loser thinks about my president..
racist, homophobic, sexist, mean, hateful, petty? But he’s anti-war and wants to legalize weed, so he’s okay, NOT!!!
Hang five maaaan! Yah bro, hey dude pass the Bong!
It’s 4 o’clock maaaaan. Far out dude!
I found his twitter handle
A Ron Paul supporter pretending to be a former supporter of the President…..as if.
Not fooling anyone.
This guy got full 45 min on CSpan Morning Journal and then they covered the whole Occupy “Iowa” public town hall for at least 2 hrs. Fallon was a ring leader and kep repeating that he was soooooooo disappointed in PBO! Thanks for hipping me to the fact that he is a Ron Paul supporter. I did not know what to think. Now I get it.
What a fruitcake.
The whole occupy movement is about income inequality and Paul would makes things worst because he wants to gut Social Security, Medicare, minimum wage, civil rights, etc.
Yet some pot heads have tried to infiltrate the movement to co-opt it as a vehicle to push the legalization of marijuana.
I guess his racist newsletters just fired up his base………unbelievable.
ok – here is a giant WTF that we need to be ALL OVER:
Republicans Attempt to Remove President Obama from Georgia Ballot –
I hope our President’s team is on top of this. Apparently, they’ve attempted five lawsuits already. I’m not sure what their point is. They are DESPERATE.
It’s those freaking wacko birthers. I think that we should send $$$ if we can, and write to the office that they have highlighted to support the President. WTF is WRONG with these people??????????????????????????????????????? Precious time and money wasted on frivolous lawsuits. They should be ashamed of themselves, but , as we all know, they HAVE no shame!
BACK TO FUN STUFF ABOUT OUR WONDERFUL PRESIDENT. I don’t know how I missed this one back in 2008!!
I copied this from POU and poster Nellcote:
Send Barack Your Baby – Change, One Baby Kiss at a Time
Make sure to click on the “library of Barack-themed baby photos.”
The baby themed photos are just to cute.
Adorable! Lots of cutie patooties in there!
Looks as though we’re on the same wavelength … just posted a story about Abe Lincoln and his baby “admirer”!
Clearly, 2012 will be the inevitable (since 1865) convergence of Class & Civil War in America. Hopefully, non-violent. I’m with #PresObama.
It’ll be obvious by 4 Jan 2012, even to the lamest that 6 Nov 2012 is an election like no other in our history ….
It is really strange how Romney’s Republican opponents seem so unwilling to really go at him. I understand not going dirty, but dayum…they are letting him skate on by with only a few nicks. It was smart of the Obama team to weigh in early by hitting him repeatedly. The Republicans just don’t have the stomach. It shows me that the non-Romney’s really don’t think they can win…if they did they wouldn’t be afraid to harm Romney because they would be trying to win – for real. By not going at him, it seems like they don’t think they can win…they think Romney will win at the end of the day, and because of that, they don’t want to go at him too hard and bloody him up too badly, thus weakening him for the general.
There is some kind of Romney protection program going on in the republican party.
It’s called wall street protection! Hello?
They also know that anything they say will be used against them in a court of Democratic campaign ads.
It’s because they are incompetent and the media took Newt down on their own. Romney hasn’t lifted a finger this entire primary.
Well, most of them weren’t really running for president anyway, so there’s that. Also, republicans — especially of the conservative variety — tend to be authoritarians, and quickly fall in line. Ron Paul is the only one whose “brand” is actually anti-establishment, and even he isn’t hitting Willard hard. It’s really not required by his followers — they’re more ideological and are true believers; other candidates are almost irrelevant to them. The best anti-Romney ads have been by Jon Huntsman, probably b/c he was aiming for the attention of the same constituency. Alas, nobody’s paying attention to Jon. Oh well.
Even with all this kid glove treatment, Mr. 25% can’t pull away from the pack, which is quite amazing when you think about it.
I thought Jon was supposed to hit it big in New Hampshire. Nonstop promotion from MSNBC & Morning Joke…pimping his adult daughters…whatever…FAIL.
Maybe when they all lose in 2012, the Romney boys and the Huntsman girls and their parents can all take another trip to Greece with Leroy and Callista … and maybe stay there (nothing against Greece, which I would certainly pity if that happened).
It’s VERY telling to me that Paul went guns a’blazin’ at Gingrich, but will not go after Romney with the same fervor.
Ok, am I the only one to notice that the snow is gone and my smiling president is no longer pictured in his Santa hat?
I haz a sad.
😦 I LIKED THE SNOW! Maybe she’ll have a picture of PBO popping open a bottle of champagne for the New Year soon 🙂 bye, snow:(
Christmas is over! LOL! The radio stations have put away their Christmas albums. The stores are getting rid of old year inventory. Folks are planning their New Year activities.
I haz a sad too!
Chips – Sad to see them go, but I’m so very appreciative we had them all this time! Gave us quite the laugh. Can’t wait to see how you’ll surprise us next!
“His relationship with Washington insiders is described by members of both parties as “remote,” “distant” and “perfunctory.”
“This is not a Lincoln bedroom guy,” said James Carville, the Democratic strategist, referring to the guest bedroom at the White House where President Bill Clinton put up supporters and donors. “In fact, he’s the anti-Lincoln bedroom guy. He doesn’t seem to relish, or even like, having politicians around.””
Hey Carville, shut your piehole. He doesn’t like your type because you’re assholes who die for attention. Why would he call you after you tried kneecapping him for 2 straight years? Maybe the Congress should stop whining and do something. They are a pathetic bunch.
I’m glad the President doesn’t have politicians staying over in the Lincoln bedroom or any bedroom. I kind of think too that Michelle doesn’t want those fake ass folks around her family. And I agree. James Carville is another one of those Clintons lover who still has issues with President Obama defeating Hillary. Get over it folks.
This piece, and this picture, speak VOLUMES to me. Two has beens with nothing more to say.
And because it’s Rick Perry…opps!
df – That photo does speak volumes. Hoping one of them will be in jail soon! Can you believe how UNHAPPY they both look? If I were them, I’d have that look, too.
job…I’m hoping one of them will be in jail soon, too! Should have been there 20 years ago! SOOOOOOOOOOOO unhappy:) Wonder why? ! They both suck at their jobs and both of them just got FOUND OUT!

Christofacism With A Libertarian Twist?
DAVID KURTZ DECEMBER 28, 2011, 5:15 PM 557
Ron Paul’s campaign touts his endorsement from a minister who advocates the death penalty for homosexuality. We interview the good reverend, who likes Paul’s support for federalism because it would free up more states to adopt fundamental Biblical law.
Trust me..Paul isn’t going anywhere. Like Bachman, Cain, and Gingrich, he’s just the latest distraction to keep the focus off Romney.
MIC and Israel lobby will not let Paul get anywhere near the nomination. Right now he’s being used as a spoiler to make sure Romney doesn’t run away with the nomination by winning Iowa and NH – they need a not-Romney to win Iowa to buy them time. The same folks (MIC and Israeli Lobby don’t trust Romney as far as they can throw him either).
Oh, I KNOW 🙂 we’ll just call them all “place holders” now…Ron Paul is the latest “place holder”….still, the thought that people would welcome that scenario, is frightening.
I’m surprised that the GOP want their favored candidate to go into battle against President Obama without the benefit of defending some of his positions. He’ll be facing fresh attacks on the national stage without having dulled the effects during the primaries. And, since his entire campaign is built on lies – many of which can be easily refuted – it seems like a very dangerous strategy. Unless they’re expecting that it will be easy enough to steal the election. They can’t be that deluded, but it would appear that they actually are just that deluded.
Let’s see voter suppression laws going into affect in several key states, lies about the President and discrediting his accomplishments, unprecidented obstruction in Congress disallowing anything that would improve the economy, blocking of Dem judges and having GOP judges in place, one state taking over cities and appointing his own GOP choices to run those cities including having charge of the voting count, and voting machines that will probably do the same thing as happened in earlier years.
Oh, my. You know how we all loved the image of the little baby who put his fingers in the President’s mouth, and touched his face? I was looking for an Abraham Lincoln quote earlier, and found this story. Sorry it’s long, but worth sharing.
With my baby on my arm, I answered the knock, opened the door and looked up at a tall, gaunt, sad-faced man in ill-fitting clothes who, with the accent of the North, asked: “Is this George Pickett’s place?” “Yes, sir,” I answered, “but he is not here.” “I know that, ma’am,” he replied, “but I just wanted to see the place. I am Abraham Lincoln.” “The President!” I gasped. The stranger shook his head and said, “No, ma’am; no, ma’am; just Abraham Lincoln; George’s old friend.” “I am George Pickett’s wife and this is his baby,” was all I could say. I had never seen Mr. Lincoln but remembered the intense love and reverence with which my Soldier always spoke of him.
My baby pushed away from me and reached out his hands to Mr. Lincoln, who took him in his arms. As he did so an expression of rapt, almost divine, tenderness and love lighted up the sad face. It was a look that I have never seen on any other face. My baby opened his mouth wide and insisted upon giving his father’s friend a dewy infantile kiss. As Mr. Lincoln gave the little one back to me, shaking his finger at him playfully, he said: “Tell your father, the rascal, that I forgive him for the sake of that kiss and those bright eyes.”
He turned and went down the steps, talking to himself, and passed out of my sight forever, but in my memory those intensely human eyes, that strong, sad face, have a perpetual abiding place – that face which puzzled all artists but revealed itself to the intuitions of a little child, causing it to hold out its hands to be taken and its lips to be kissed.”
[Sally Corbell Pickett, Wife of Major General George E. Pickett, April 1865]
Oh – this is lovely!
Very sweet. Thanks for sharing, JOB.
Gingrich says he raised 9 million for the 4th quarter. That ain’t bad, for him!
um,,,, Leroy? Oh, Newt? I don’t believe you. SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! 😆 😆
He probably “raised” that money because he got Callista to return $5million worth of Tiffany jewels….
Hard to believe considering the lack of ads in Iowa.
He’s spent only $250,000 in Iowa, while Perry, Mittens, and Paul have each poured in millions.
Robert Reich is predicting an Obama/Clinton ticket for 2012. His article on HP is very insulting to the president implying that due to his “cave-ins to regressive Republicans” he would need HRC on the ticket to insure a victory. Seriously. I’m not even talking about HRC herself, but the Clintonites would love nothing more than to fenagle their way back into the WH and take over. Reich is a wacko (like most Clintonites)who think Hillary would have done everything better the PBO, which of course, is complete nonsense. I hope this doesn’t end up happening.
PBO does not need HRC to win in 2012.
What, Reich thinks PBO would turn Joey loose? IS HE NUTS? Oh wait. Yes, he is. Next.
No no no a thousand times no. I cannot tell you how many of my friends say this same thing. No. Do you really want to know how I feel? I would say a big fat NO to that. Well, we’ve discussed this whole matter at TOD so no need to rehash it out. But. Yikes. She’s great right where she is.
Reich is trying to cause trouble by implying that the “base” is depressed and unenthusiastic because of PBO’s past “mistakes” and therefore will need Hillary on the ticket to fire up the “base.”
Reich is full of shyte. If he and Idle Rendell are so desperate for a “job” then they can both go to hell sign up for position of chief fire-fighter there.
When in actual reality adding Hillary to the ticket would not just depress the base but also move some independent & republican voters away from PBO. PBO has broad appeal. Hillary is limited to mostly establishment democrats.
Thank you, symmetry! PBO isn’t the problem…..CONGRESS is the problem!
I treat Reich just like Bernie Sanders when I see them on tv. My hand finds the mute button on my remote control. They are way to negative for me and they always find a way to bash PBO.
So that is what Rendell is up too! Good grief. I will say one thing, theses clintonites are very loyal!
He needs to stick to teaching economics and not to punditry. Didn’t his mamma tell him that NO MEANS NO!
Robert Reich is one of those so called public intellectuals, like Paul Krugman and Cornel West, who crave constant media attention. He may be a good economist, but he has zero political skills. The PL may worship him, but few grassroots Democrats know of him to care what he says. VP Joe Biden is one the best VP in this country’s history. He is, in my humble opinion, more accomplished than HRC. He is also one of the most honest, personable, and down to earth politicians. So why would President Obama drop him?
It won’t happen. The bond between the president and Biden is very strong and Biden is everything PBO hoped he would be as a VP– loyal, strong, dependable, caring. This is not even to mention the relationship between FLOTUS and Mrs. Biden. Can you imagine Michelle trying to work with Bill Clinton? NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. These people are trying to stir up controversy so they’ll get tv bookings, more attention and more money.
CaliCat, I agree with you 1000%, the President do not need Hillary to win in 2012. I am so fed up with these Clintons lovers pushing that B.S. I like Hillary too. But I also think Joe Biden have been a darn good VP.
Does someone here have the “keys to the kingdom” because it never takes us long to get through a thread! At about 400 comments, and people start having a hard time 🙂
Watching a few minutes of Leroy Newton or Newton Leroy on C-Span, during his town hall today in Iowa. He’s telling the “crowd” that he’ll sign 200-300 executive orders on his first day in office, etc., etc., abolishing gubmint as we know it, etc. He’s now reminiscing about the 1990s again, like anybody wants to repeat that.
The guy speaks fast and talks and talks and nobody can understand a thing he says, but some in the “crowd” are shaking their heads in agreement, while looking bored and occasionally halfheartedly clapping.
Cannot wait to see President Obama and Vice President Biden in full campaign mode in 2012, and all those happy faces! I’m In Big Time!
My package from the Obama store arrived today. I bought two glasses with the Obama logo on them and picture myself drinking my evening pop in it. I’ll enjoy that. I also got a 2012 wall calendar that will go up very soon. I got a batch of campaign buttons I plan to give away to friends to help campaign. I did that last election and it was fun. My son gave me a silver photo frame from the store as my Xmas gift too. Well that was fun opening my Obama store box. I’ll close for the night and will be back tomorrow.
OG, well to go! My package came last week, three days before Christmas. I also got the 2012 wall calendar, an Obama-Biden t-shirt, a 2012 cap, Obama and Biden buttons and a bunch of Obama-biden car stickers that I will share with friends and family. In other words, I am fired up and ready to go to work to re-elect these wonderful two men. OBAMA-BIDEN!
I am looking forward to getting my stuff. I ordered dog and cat collars, a leash, a picture frame and a car magnet. I ordered the key chain but wish they would bring back the one they had for the 2008 campaign. It is so classy. I broke mine about six months ago, but carry the disk in my wallet. I also want the bangles and necklace but have to wait on those. I have so many T-shirts from last time, posters, yard sign, buttons, tote bag, the birth certificate cup, books, magazines. I need a room like COS has.
“Johnson’s support for same-sex marriage, and President Barack Obama’s opposition to it, could put the support and votes of gay Americans in play during the election.
Lt. Dan Choi, who was discharged from the military under the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, told The Daily Caller, “I am not in the habit of endorsing candidates and I no longer belong to any party, but I hold Governor Johnson in highest regards and think he would be an amazing president.””
WHAT AN IDIOT!
Dan Choi is a liar. He is a libertarian and by constantly putting down our President over the last 3 years while conspicuously giving the GOP a pass, he has tacitly endorsed a Republican for President in 2012.
And the first sentence of this paragraph is patently bullshyte speculation. If any “gay American” claims to have switched from PBO to Gary Johnson simply because of the gay marriage issue, they are not being honest about the REAL reason for their switch. Sorry, I ain’t buying what the author of this article is selling.
halo, do you think anyone gay or straight really gives a dam what that idiot Dan Choi has to say? Don’t he know that he can only speak for himself. Have anyone call V.A. to see if they can get Choi some mental help?.
Ron Paul is a dangerous man. While his domestic libertarian views are quite attractive to some voters fed up with politics as usual, it is Paul’s position on issues of our national security that are truly dangerous.
Those views have been largely overlooked by a news media more interested in the presidential “horse race” than in the candidates’ positions on issues. But we expect New Hampshire primary voters will examine the facts and act accordingly.
A Wall Street Journal columnist notes that Paul is “a leading spokesman for, and recycler of, the long and familiar litany of charges that point to the United States as a leading agent of evil and injustice, the militarist victimizer of millions who want only to live in peace.”
Thanks for posting this Ron Paul article. I am trying to find out as much as possible about him cuz my youngest brother who is now 58 has been and continues to be a Ron Paul supporter for most of his life. Besides being totally in sink with Ron Paul’s beliefs he believes we did 9/11 ourselves, as well as Pearl Harbor and many other weird far out conspiracy theories. He is trying to get me to watch some movie called Inside Job. I guess it incriminates Obama too. I am trying to figure out where he gets all of these ideas from.
He may persuade my 87 yr old Mom who he is caring for to vote for RP too this year as he is always telling her positive things about him. The other day when I was with Mom while he was running errands I turned on MSNBC and they were talking about RP so I mentioned it would not be a good idea to vote for him. Mom said she liked him and thought he would be a good President. I said he did not believe in Social Security or Medicare and wanted to get rid of them and he was involved with several racist newsletters put out 15 years ago. She said the Country’s views on racism had changed over the years so she didn’t hold that against him. I said but he just disavows it even with video proofs that he knew about it. She also said as President he will not have the power to change SS and Medicare. I said with a predominant GOP Congress it could happen. I also told her about the privatizing of everything the GOP is trying to do. My Mom has a short term memory of only five minutes tops. I did get both of them to vote for Obama last time but am thinking it won’t happen this time. My brother said he would vote for Ron Paul even if he has to write his name on. That is why I worry about Ron Paul either being the GOP candidate or being an Independent candidate for President. Whatever I read I can use to convince my Mom. My brother is a waste of time.
Rev Al is all over msnbc, pushing back on the msnbc libertarian media. He is tireless.
Good morning- another slow news day- the Faux poutrage is Obama is ignoring the media while in Hawaii.
Yes. These idiots just don’t get it. I hope someplace they are teaching students to be real journalists instead of these hacks we have covering the news now.
Me too! Good morning-
Brrrr- it’s cold here on Clearwater Florida. Low 50s.
Wait! You don’t understand. The low 50s in Florida, is like below 0 in Chicago. Brrrrr!
😆 Jovie, you deserve to be banned for complaining about your weather being in the low 50s!
I have a thought, maybe the President is enjoying beinglng with his family, friends, and having some relaxing time. Could that be possible?
That should be being.
Thank Goodness. He deserves it!
I see CNN has a segment on the huge spike in gun sales in Dec. and featured some gun store guy saying that it was because of the upcoming election, that everyone was afraid of what Obama was going to do if he was re-elected. OMG—–how dumb are these people? They’re still spreading, and profiting from, the fear that Obama is coming to grab their guns right out of their hands! We’ve got a lot of doozies in this country.
Aren’t they silly. The militias ate buying all these guns because of glen beck radio show.
He is yelling them to revolt against the federal government, on air.
The FCC does a lousy job with beck!
My I phone is mis spelling my words again!
I’m sorry, I don’t like to call people names, but some times it is call for, these people are a bunch of racists folks who just want to believe anything bad about this black President. Honestly they all make me sick. America would be be without folks like that.
Good Morning Chips and TODers!
Hope everyone is having a great holiday season.
I read the most sickening story this morning on Yahoo and that “twit” Dan Choi is all over it:
Warning: Please eat breakfast before reading.
Lol! Another libertarian posing as an old Obama supporter but…
And we know libertarians are racist, just look at ron pails newsletters.
O, and pass the bong pleeeease maaaan!
Oh, and then I saw this:
In close race, Johnson could deliver New Mexico for Obama

The media just can’t seem to make up their mind! 😦
Good morning TOD
GMA (Good Morning America) is asking on twitter what what the biggest story of 2011. Please flood them with the President’s accomplishments. I responded with the killing of OBL.

Up in smoke- indeed!
Just in- Patty Hearst just endorsed the GOP.
Who is Patty Hearst and of what significance (or not) is her endorsement?
Just in- I heard Charlie Mansion just endorsed the GOP too. Who cares who patty hearst endorsed? I sure don’t.
