President Obama dances with a child dressed as an elf as he joins entertainers on stage, including actress Jane Lynch and ‘singerâ (sic) Mariah Carey, holding her daughter Monroe, at the end of the National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on the Ellipse in Washington, December 6
Tell me when isnât FLOTUS rocking something. Now Sasha and Malia are getting to be known as fashion icons like their Mom. We have a beautiful First Family, and Iâm darn proud they are our First Family.
Saw on the previous thread that you asked if Iâve heard “Slient Night” by the Temptations.
I am pretty much tone-deaf and have zilch in the music appreciation arena. Virtually any song that was recorded after the mid-1970s is “new” to me, so no, I havenât heard their version (but do know who the Temptations are, very big in the mid-1960s!).
My god, BBC World has a documentary on Mandela and the struggle on. It just showed an Afrikaaner rally from when they took power in SA. It was full on Nazi, with robes and racial superiority.
TWO HOURS+ on the phone!!! How come the phone never cuts out when you wouldnât mind if it did? Oh well, VC, you are all ‘caught upâ with this friend now, so you can focus on catching up in the village.
Awwww, Iâve had a few of those two hour conversations with good friends over the years. Always feel good afterwards. As you say, all “caught up” and re-connected.
Then, in September 2011, the United States released its first Open Government National Action Plan, setting a series of ambitious goals to create a more open government. The United States has continued to implement and improve upon the open-government commitments set forth in the first Plan, along with many more efforts underway across government, including implementing individual Federal agency Open Government Plans. The second Plan builds on these efforts, in part through a series of key commitments highlighted in a preview report issued by the White House in October 2013, in conjunction with the Open Government Partnership Annual Summit in London….

Compatibility is not only measured by musical tastes. Besides, I am sure we could find some common ground: Judy Garland, Ethel Merman, Dean Martin, Lady Gaga
UGH. Not only are they all upper class white men but they represent the worst in our media and our political system, horrifically slanted in their views and unqualified to inform the public.
MSM barely covers the travels of President Obama; itâs worse with the VP.
As far as covering the VP in general, indeed the MSM doesnât do a good job. But the low point was in the 2008 campaign, where the MSM couldnât get enough of Sarah Palin, and barely showed Joe Biden on TV. I think they did it again in 2012 with Paul Ryan, but the disparity was more outrageous in 2008.
My little conspirationist mind has always wondered if some powerful interests have always been afraid of Joe Biden. He is a FANTASTIC campaigner and debater; very effective. And in 1988, when Joe ran for president, he made a mistake by omitting to mention the author of a quote he used in a couple of speeches. An author that he HAD mentioned in previous speeches. Itâs not as if he wanted to get the credit. Journalists who followed him had heard the previous speeches. But the media took this little mistake and treated it as if Joe had killed someone. Completely out of proportion. And it sank Joeâs candidacy.
Joe would have been a formidable opponent against George Walker Bush. Just sayinâ.
Joe Biden may be one of the most UNDERestimated national politician America has had in recent decades.
Lets teach the media a lesson by encouraging and supporting VP Biden to run for President in 2016, and by turning out in great numbers to vote for him! He is, without a doubt, the person who will carry out President Obamaâs agenda of caring for the needs of the majority of the people. He is also the most genuine and authentic person who believes in serving people and not his own self interest. I am sorry, I just donât want to hear any thing about his age. He is not that much older than Hillary Clinton, or for that matter John McCain when he run in 2008!
So, my new toy: an iDea USA iDeaTV. Itâs an Android tv box. Itâs plugged into my HDTV, and Iâm watching all my loaded international channels. If it werenât for ESPN, and that my missus would castrate me, Iâd pull the plug on satellite.
Ok, Iâd choose world peace. BECAUSE: world peace would accelerate technological development, which would lead to leaps and bounds in nanotechnology and atomically precise manufacturing, which would mean I could build my own goddamned Lambo.
Never once did I think anyone could out-geek Dudette around here, but LL, that is the single geekiest comment I have *ever* seen on the interwebs.
The #GOP are the Pro-Inequality Party and that message can be made obvious to Red State Bubbas …. itâs already happening in Kentucky … my hope is that OFA and other groups will be loading Red County & Red State Ballots with all kinds of Expand Medicare & Minimum Wage Initiatives.
@OFA #GOP is the Pro-Inequality Party - from undermining #ObamaCare to opposition of fair minimum wage, women's rights & immigration reform.
Beginning to feel a lot likeâŚ..
Helloooooooo Almablanca and Africaaaaa!

I noticed her too—really pretty little girl
Malia and Sasha looked beautiful.
I love that Mariah brought the twins with her.
FLOTUS was rocking those boots.

Arapaho415, everyone who have heard that song loves it. Itâs classic Temptations.
Yes Indeed, Anniebella! The Temptations version of “Silent Night” is exquisite!
My god, BBC World has a documentary on Mandela and the struggle on. It just showed an Afrikaaner rally from when they took power in SA. It was full on Nazi, with robes and racial superiority.
Sashaâs got that pose like a model. These girls are growing up right in front of our eyes! Gorgeous!
africa, they are lovely young ladies and I know POTUS and FLOTUS are proud of them.
Nice.
everyone, go here: http://weplaylive.tv/world-news-stream/
Great piece on Mandela being played now.
I caught the last portion of that, thanks to you, Lib-L. This is a great place to hang out if you want to be directed to real, informative news.

Yes, TNMG, it was a good session (except for the moments when I was wondering what was happening in TOD village).

Chips, in response to your last comment on the previous thread, no, it would probably have been something by Neil Diamond.
And I thought we were compatible!
Compatibility is not only measured by musical tastes. Besides, I am sure we could find some common ground: Judy Garland, Ethel Merman, Dean Martin, Lady Gaga

Yup.
A sea of white, fantastic tweet.
But the man working to the side?
whatâs up with all the mariah carey ‘loveâ?
I was emoting my non-love for her earlier Amk, and then Hopefruit suggested she might do a duet with Billy Joel.
Nope, itâs not singing, itâs something else with both of them. What is it?
Their very being.
quitcher games playing and tell us.
I toooooooooold ya!!!
No, you didnât.
Good job with the MS Paint!
BTW — these were my High School colors. Whoever thought red and turquoise is a good combo is nuts, if you ask me.
And my fav funny from you this week:
red & turquoise, a no-no. gotcha.
A couple of updates on #BidenInAsia.
Heâs in Seoul South Korea now. Heâs scheduled to visit the DMZ, so Iâm guessing that will happen tomorrow.
Hereâs a pic of VP Joe and his granddaughter in Beijing:
Hereâs something he said in Seoul today:
And regarding President Mandelaâs passing yesterday:
Have you noticed that there seems to be a virtual black out of news on VPBiden
YES. He really has gotten the short end of the stick, which angers me greatly.

Theyâre all “ready for Hillary”. No room for Biden, whoâs actually doing stuff for this country.
A little funny.
oh, oh, wifey is gonna be pissed off.
Yeah, if she read my Twitter. Fortunately, she doesnât. Wheeeeeeeee
Iâve been there…
Good news:
Way too many cats… but cute…
Hi theo. Long time, no see.
Too busy at work, unfortunately. Good to hang with everyone here, finally!
Simple answer ….
#FORWARD
OMG, Iâm mentoring someone on Twitter on becoming a librarian!! Squeee!!!
You brainwasher you!!
True dat!
Sooo chips, about that everton match…. crickets?
Gunners otoh ….. The lead is widening baby.
United are morally first, though, and thatâs all that matters.
Guess youâll still be saying that when theyâre in relegation.
See you here in May, buster, Iâll be the one ….
Actually, I donât remotely believe that
Yikes…
Widening on MUFC, perhaps. Chelsea is keeping pace. And Wenger will fuck it up eventually.
With that GD, you wish.
Weâll see, my friend. At any rate, itâs going to be a bang up campaign. Wide open. Freaking EVERTON is in fifth!
everton in 5th ? I canât believe that either.
WHOA
Absolutely breath-taking!
Phenomenal picture. Pete Souza is pure genius!!!
Wow! Pete Souza is amazing! Thatâs a pic for the ages!

Iâm a librarian. I read. And nanotechnology has become a minor passion of mine. It may just save us from ourselves.
Iâm solely focused on Nanitechnology, LL, whatever developments there might be out there to remove him from Old Trafford.
Wait, do they still have the picnic blanket uniforms?
Thankfully no, LL! Thatâs a photo from the archives, when Nani last had a decent game. Heâs the Billy Joel of footballers.
I love her tweets - but also her artwork - some of it is stunning

Four frigginâ years??? I gotta get off the innernetz.
Gawd, youâve been haranguing me for 4 years?! It seems longer.
Lord, when did I start? It was after BWD rolled up her site.
BWD sent me a whole bunch of hoodlums, not sure I can ever forgive her.
Is LP working on a post? Iâm putting together a night owl danceathon.
I just finished mine, LL. Whatever works is ok with me…..
If you want to go ahead and post, go ahead. I can do mine later or tomorrow night.
OK….
Scratch that, LL. Go ahead with your post!
Great! Itâs party-rific!
Thank yooooooou LL! I just DMed LP, reckon his wonderful post would be better for tomorrow - so, fire ahead, and thank you!
thatâs what I figured. Time for some loosey-goosey.
Heh, youâre the one that let the cat in.
Thatâs true, but back then this mouse thought you were civil:
