It looks like Ukraine has a clear winner.

😉 Very glad to know that exit polls are very much a reliable tested way of collecting data. 2004 in US made a mockery of known data gathering electoral results.

Donna – I know you didn’t mean all of the actual lyrics in this song with your #BetterThanAllTheRest – but what the heck!

They usually play “Land of Hope and Dreams” at every public appearance. Mostly as The President is shaking hands and leaving.
It is very inspiring and on-message for PBO.

Brad Paisley asks, “Anybody homesick?” Yes, I’d imagine all of them. Address it and let ’em know we’re with them! Go, Brad!

and he’ll do it too, shake every single hand.

Strong stuff in that speech, telling these young soldiers of their legacy.. that is very important. I love this man, this President.

POTUS says he still has hopes of signing an agreement with the newly elected President of Afghanistan after the June electons to keep US troops in Afghanistan after the so-far agreed upon withdrawal date of December, 2014.

President Obama’s goodness with the troops wipes me out! I love him and all of those young shiny faces in uniform, men and women, standing before him! And some in the crowd with older faces, as well, of course.

God bless the United States of America.

    Sunday Question:

Q: What is the best way to get John “I-appear-on-every-Sunday-morning-talking-head-show-that-will-have-me” McCain to gnash his teeth?

A: Have President Obama visit Afghanistan on Memorial Day with Brad Paisley in tow.

    Note to historians… see 2014.

It’s fantastic and amazing isn’t GGail. I’m watching it live on WH.GOV and he’s taking his 3rd lap around the crowd. He wants to shake every enlisted person’s hand and they want to shake his. What an enthusiam gap!! /snark

Awwww. They cut the feed and he was STILL shaking hands with the troops. I could watch it forever, just to see the interaction as he shakes hands. It’s also touching to see as one soldier shakes his hand, they step back to allow one of their fellow soldiers to step up and take their place so she/he can shake our illustrious Prez’s hand also I. LOVE. MY PRESIDENT!

OT but Bobfr, again thanks soooo much for posting about Alonzo King’s ballet company here at TOD awhile back. Never would have known about them if I hadn’t read what you posted here at TOD. Their performance was simply incredible last Saturday night down in San Diego… It was also heartening to see a very diverse group of young aspiring dancers in the audience equally spellbound by the dancers. 🙂

The SS has really had to think and act out of the box to serve and protect the Obama family; a real family that lives real lives; a warm couple who believes in the power and the connection of touch. However, the SS serves joyfully. I have heard from people who would know that their details love them.

This POTUS shows it to all, the Troops, Us as Citizens and Congress who deserves none of it.

Classy. Humility. Never Quitting. A true Energizer.

May God Bless Pres Barack Hussein Obama and his family.

I have an Honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army reserves having fulfilled my military obligation from the middle of Carter’s admin. to almost end of Reagan’s; but if Pres. Obama was my commander-in-chief at the time I probably would have re-upped out of hope and pride.

    • May 25, 2014 at 2:46 pm

Thank you for your service, Paulita. Received mine from the USN during the Nixon administration. Feel the same way re: if it had been the Obama Administration!! 🙂

Thank you for your continued service Dr. Bob. I really believe that TOD does a valuable patriotic service to this country and the world, by being the first and best place for breaking news and commentary. And on a spiritual level, I believe that TOD is many faceted force for good.

Important the she has conceded …

    • May 25, 2014 at 2:51 pm

Also important to note, despite all the Russian propaganda about the dominance of the ultra-nationalist ‘Right Sector,’ that its candidate appears to have received 1 % or less of the vote, today.

Reminds me of a display at the Smithsonian American history museum in DC that I saw when visiting in 1998 (can’t believe it was that long ago, LOL).

It was a heartfelt letter of love and desperation to see soldier, from the young fiancee of a soldier serving in Vietnam. The envelope was marked “Return To Sender” because the soldier died before receiving it.

Absolutely gut-wrenching (especially for us baby boomrs).
