I’ve seen a lot of twitter conversation about the fact that Netanyahu can thumb his nose at the President and Kerry because he’s got Congress in his pocket and knows that he’s inviolable. He also knows that his status with AIPAC and Congress and the belief that he will always be protected by the US allows him to ignore the UN Security Council. I think we ought to use this Congressional year as an opportunity to push back. We can be a powerful lobby if we all work together. Congressional candidates want our votes right now, so let’s tell them that we will not support slavish devotion to Israel at any cost. I’m tired of conceding defeat to rich PACs and right wing interest groups. There are millions more of us and it’s time to show our Congress people that blind support of Israel in the face of mass murder is not acceptable and there will be consequences to them if they we’re ignored.

I am so disgusted how much money is being given to aid these senseless killings.

Throw in a powerful Jewish Lobby AIPAC and a powerful far right evangelical partner and viola , pro Israel no matter what…
Subsequently, Anybody that goes against that, is made out as a fool by the powers that be .
It’s unfortunate, but it is what it is. It’s Netenyahu that’s very dangerous .
My point, Jovie, is that there are more of us than there are of them. We let AIPAC and the evangelical right intimidate us, but there are millions of us whose votes are needed for this or any Congress to be elected. We have the power if we were to use it.
We can’t go down the slope of blaming “wealthy Jewish people.” Far right evangelical groups are not Jewish and the media is controlled by large corporations with very secular interests. The roots of Israeli support go back to WWII and the horrific legacy of Nazi genocide. There were good and powerful reasons why the US supported a democracy in Israel where displaced Jews could finally have a home. AIPAC and the far right does not represent the position of all Jews!
I agree. In addition, EVERYTHING changes. It may take a while but it does. So I feel empowered everyday when I write a letter to Congress or contact my local representatives telling them this has to change and they should not use US Tax payer dollars to fund Bibi’s wars.

Usually, Harry confirms judges in Tuesday.
But, 1 judge did get confirmed Monday.
Yesterday Menendez had to hunt down Committee members to show up because not enough showed to vote many Ambassadors out of committee. Rachel did a segment on it…..but as usual it took here forever to get to the point.

GM all. Ready for another day of irrational PBO bashing? I am. The more good news there is, the more bashing there is. But I think it is reaching a tipping point. People can’t go forever without the good news seeping into their conscious minds, and the more good news that seeps in, the less the bashing has an impact. And then they start to wonder about the agenda of those doing the bashing and realize that those doing the bashing are afraid of good news.
Upshot: if we work hard, there will be a wave election in November, with Dems riding the crest of the wave that swamps the GOP.
Incredibly , Ed Shultz took all the GOP talking points on executive orders yesterday on his show. He punched the president in the mouth with his criticism of new executive order on worker permits as well.
According to twitter, I didn’t watch him…
So, why does Ed tie himself in knots one day for immigration executive orders, the next day totally against it?
