A congress that doesn’t stand with their President in external negotiations is - to the rest of the world - utterly unbelievable, dysfunctional and not worthy of its place in the political life of the US

My two favorite people in the world right now are PBO and SOS Kerry…..I admire them both SO much. I often think how different the world would be…..by different I mean better…..if Kerry had won in 2004…….but then, would we have had PBO? All those ifs are not relevant, because we deal with what is, and PBO deals with what is. I do know GWB let the world spin out of control in his eight years…….
So thrilled…..as one who is old enough to remember the Shah, the overthrow of the Shah, the captives, the release of the captives in Tehran, the nightly horror of those pictures…….the total change in that country, this indeed is a marvelous day. For once, the powers of the world acted as adults, and adults concerned about their children’s futures. HUGE thanks to PBO, SOS Kerry and the entire negotiating teams of all countries.
On a shallow note……I see PBO has his wedding ring on. I bet the reason it was off was the same reason as last time: repair. It is fragile,and intricate, and sometimes it gets bent, or partially broken…….it needs expert repair.
The price of oil should plummet…….again but will California get the benefit…nooooooo. We are still over $3 a gallon.

Ann Curry on MSNBC just said something like … John Kerry has spent more time on the road in pursuit of this one deal with Iran than has been spent on all other diplomatic efforts “since the signing of the Treaty of Versailles,” one of the peace treaties at the end of WWI.

Aha … MSNBC has its own talking points, of course. I think - although I wanted him to win in ’04 - things turned out okay when Kerry didn’t become President, but instead ended up partnering with President Obama, on the world stage. Everybody in their right place, IMHO.
Much as I wanted Kerry to be president, I have to admit that this job and this time are the destiny he was born for. Amazing!
